Jason's POV

It's been two days since we came up with our plan and now we're finally going to get Eden back. Four recruits, Derick, Zack, Angel, and Moca, have joined us to help distract the guards. All Eighteen of us stand on the deck of a small ship anchored as close to the castle as we can get without being spotted. All of us are equipped with enchanted butter armor and a weapon of the wielders choosing. Our helmets have respiration III, unbreaking III, and protection IV. While our chestplates, pants, and boots have protection IV and unbreaking III. Like me, Sky, Deadlox, and a few others have an enchanted butter sword. Jerome has his diamond ax, Betty. Temperance has an enchanted diamond sword. While the rest either have enchanted bows or iron swords.

"Does everyone know the plan?" Sky asks. We all nod our heads in reply. He grins and pumps his fist in the air. "Alright then, let's go save Eden!"

Everyone holler an agreement before we all jump off the deck and into the ocean below us, Connor stopping momentarily to sling Eden's backpack over his shoulder.

We swim until we are right in front of the castle. We hide behind a rock and Sky signals for us to split up. The first group leaves heading straight for the entrance and attracting the squid's attention. While the guards are distracted we swim around them following Temperance to one of the towers emitting from both sides of the castle. Connor opened a small window and we a slip inside, closing the window behind us. I gasp in shock as I realize the castle isn't full off water as I suspected it would be. Temperance having noticed our confused and shocked looks answers our unspoken question. "Anyone from the royal family can turn human. Having been on land for over ten years the king has had issues getting used to breathing underwater again. That and his maids and servants are all human. This also happens to be why most of the guards are outside the castle and not inside."

"But then what about his personal guards and his deputy? How can they live here?" Quentin asks as we walk down a spiraling staircase.

"His personal guards are both half-breeds and his deputy is his eldest nephew, Riley." Quentin is about to ask another question when she puts a finger to her lips telling us to be quiet. We stay close to the walls as we creep down a dimly lit hall. Temperance peers around a corner.

"Well, well, what do we have here?" A voice calls from behind us making us freeze. Slowly we turn to face who had spoken. Four men stand there grinning like madmen with their arms crossed. All of them carry swords and are similarly dressed in black suits.

The only one who stands out was a tall man with a crown on his head, the king. A teenage boy standing behind him replies to the rhetorical question. "It looks like a couple of traitors and a bunch of Sky Army freaks."

Sky steps forward glaring at the king. "Erik! Where is she!? Where's Eden!?"

"I'm afraid I don't know what you're talking about," he replies.

"Like Nether you don't!"

The king smirks. "Adam you shouldn't speak to your uncle that way." Angered by his words Sky charges at him. Before Sky can reach the king one of the guards steps forward and blocks his attack. The guard retaliates and Sky jumps backwards to avoid it. However he doesn't notice the second guard preparing to attack from behind. I swiftly run forward and trap his sword against the ground with mine before kicking him in the chest.

"Go now!" I shout to Temperance and Connor. Snapping out of their initial shock they both take off down another hall.

"Riley!" Erik growls.

"Yes sir!" Riley replies as he starts after them. But before he can get too far three arrows land in front of him causing the boy to stumble. He glares in the direction they came from. Mitch stands there with his bow strained back to release another arrow. Jerome stands next to him grinning.

"You have to go through us first," the bacca growls. Scowling Riley draws his sword and charges at Mitch. Jerome blocks his attack as Mitch releases his arrow effectively knocking his sword from the boy's hands. Jerome then expertly swings his ax and knocks Riley out.

Farther up the hall I continue to fight the two guards with Sky. We stand back to back as they prepare to rush us. "Ready," Sky mumbles. I nod and he starts to count down. "Three..." Both the guards are charging at us. "Two..." They are almost upon us. "One!" We both jump out of the way right as they are about to hit us. Having missed us the two run into each other knocking them both out.

Sky then glares at Erik. The rest of us stand behind him ready to fight. Mitch has an arrow ready on his bow. Jerome has Betty in one hand prepared to swing. Quentin, Ty, and I all have our swords ready at our sides.

Infuriated Erik draws his own sword. It's a simple wooden sword but it has a purple glow to it meaning it's enchanted. It must have some pretty high enchantments for him to think it will last against us.

"You'll pay for that!" He snarls and aims to hit Sky. Sky prepares to defend himself but the attack never came. Instead Erik avoids Sky and attacks Quentin. Caught off guard the mudkip barely manages to block the attack. Using Quentin's surprise to his advantage the king knocks the mudkip's feet out from under him. Quentin's surprised yelp is cut short as he smacks his head on the wall behind him and passes out.

Attempting to corner Erik Sky, Deadlox, and I attack him all at the same time. He blocks mine and Sky's attacks and ducks under Ty's blade. He then propels himself forward and punches Ty in the chest. Ty gasps and falls to his knees wrapping his arms around his chest. Erik then goes to strike Jerome but Mitch fires two arrows. One lands at the king's feet while the other catches his shoulder. Erik growls in anger and charges at Jerome. He barrels into the bacca knocking him off his feet and sending him crashing into Mitch. As they struggle to untangle themselves and stand up Sky attacks from behind. The king spins around quickly and hits Sky with the flat of his sword. The force sends Sky flying into a wall. He lets out a cry of pain as his back slams into the wall and groans quietly as he sinks to the floor.

Now it is my turn to strike. I charge at him my sword pointing straight out in front of me ready to stab him. He side steps to dodge the blade. Then when I am directly in front of him he stabs me. His blade easily pierces through my armor and space suit. It goes straight through my chest and out my back. I gasp at the pain and cough up blood. Erik then pulls his sword out of me and I collapse to the ground. My vision is blurred as I gaze up at the man. I feel a weight on my chest right where he stabbed me but I don't have the strength to move it. I can barely make out his sickening grin as he holds his sword to my throat. Just as he is about to finish me off I hear someone shout but I can't make out what is said. Then suddenly the weight is gone and I feel someone next to me. It's Eden. I slowly move my hand and grab hers. I smile softly as she grasps my hand in return. That's the last thing I remember before everything goes black.

Eden's POV

I sit with my back to the wall, hugging my knees to my chest. My head rests on my knees as I gaze at my brother. He's sitting with his legs crossed in the middle of our dungeon cell. His eyes are closed as he softly hums an old children's song. I am snapped out of my trance by fast approaching footsteps and a familiar voice. "Eden! Eden, are you here!?"

I get to my feet and go to the cell door. I softly call out, "Temperance!?" The next thing I know Temperance and Conner are in front of the cell. "Temp! Con! What are you doing here?"

"What's it look like!?" Temp exclaims.

"We're getting you out of here!" Conner explains as he uses an arrow to pick the lock on the door.

I hear Aden wince and look back at him. He was trying to stand up but he is having trouble because of his broken ribs. I grimace as he winces again. "Hang on a sec and I'll help you."

"'Kay," he mumbles back.

Temperance gives me a confused look but it quickly vanishes as Connor gets the door unlocked and she rushes in tackling me in hug. I hug her back. "Oh my Notch! I'm so glad you're okay!"

I laugh and she releases me from her bear hug. "I missed you too Temp."

Conner then walks in and tosses me my backpack. I quickly dig through it searching for my sunglasses as well as a spare for Aden. As I do this Conner fills us in on the situation. "We have to hurry. On our way here we ran into Erik. Sky and some of his friends distracted him so we could find you."

"Wait Sky and the others are here!?" I nearly scream in shock. My two friends nod their heads. Confused I mutter, "But why..." I sigh as I decide it is best to act now and ask questions later. Then I grab the two pairs of sunglasses from my backpack. I put one on and toss the other to Aden saying, "Here, they're mine but they should do for now."

"Thanks," he mumbles and puts them on. I crouch next to him and he puts an arm over my shoulders as I wrap one of my arms around his waist. With Aden leaning heavily on me we slowly stand up. Temperance and Conner come over to help when we nearly fell over.

Once we are standing Temperance gives me my sword and grins. "You go help Sky and the others. We'll catch up."

I take my sword and grin back. "You better." Then I run out of the dungeon and towards the entrance to the castle. When I hear the sound of fighting I follow the noise to its source. What I see when I arrive at the scene both terrifies and angers me. Sky and his friends are either knocked out or struggling to get to their feet. However what stands out most is the king, my father, standing with one foot on Jason's chest and his sword drawn back prepared to deliver a killing strike to the boy. Without thinking I shout, "Jason!" Then in a fit of blind rage I turn on my father. "You son of bitch! Don't you fucking dare hurt him!"

The next thing I know I had stabbed my father. He collapses to the floor knocked unconscious from the force of my blow. Then I fall to my knees as I realize what I had just done. I just stabbed my own father! I tried to kill him! Sure he may be a jackass but he's still my father! Thoughts race through my head so fast that I am hardly aware of my surroundings. However I do notice Jason slipping his hand into mine. Needing the comfort I gently squeeze his hand in return.

Only when Seto and the rest of Sky's friends arrive do I snap out of my thoughts. Sky calls out to them from where he stands leaning against a wall for support. "We have to get Jason out of here and someplace safe fast. I don't know if he'll last much longer."
