Hello!
So, I finally update again, yay!
Enjoy!
"There's gas inside the car. He's going to choke. Doctor!" Auntie screamed.
The Doctor came and used his sonic screwdriver. "It won't open" he said. "It's the whole world."
We still tried to get Gramps out of the car. He was coughing and chocking.
"DOCTOR!" Auntie and I screamed when Gramps fainted.
"He's going to chock! Doctor! Doctor!" Auntie screamed.
"It won't open!" the Doctor repeated.
I came back with Sylvia, who had an axe with her. She used the axe to break the window. "Don't just stand there, get him out" she said, as neither Auntie nor the Doctor wanted to help me getting Gramps out of the car.
"I can't belief you got an axe." Auntie said while we brought Gramps back in the house.
"Burglars" was Sylvia's respond.
"Get inside the house. Just try to close off the doors and windows." The Doctor said.
"Doctor, Emma! This is all I could find that hasn't got Atmos." Ross screamed from a car.
"Donna, are you coming?" the Doctor screamed, while I got into the car.
"Yeah!" shouted Auntie from the front door.
"Donna, Emma, don't go! Look what happens every time that Doctor appears. Stay with us, please."
"You go, my darling!" Gramps said.
"DAD!"
"Don't listen to her! You go with the Doctor! And take care of Emma! That's my girls! Bye!"
(^.^)
As soon as we were back at the Atmos factory, the Doctor, Auntie and I had to say good bye to Ross. "Ross, look after yourself. Get inside the building." The Doctor said to him.
"Will do", Ross replied. "Greyhound 40, this is Trap One. I've just returned the Doctor to base, safe and sound. Over."
"The Air is disgusting", Auntie said.
"It's not so bad for me. Go on, get inside the TARDIS, both of you", the Doctor said.
"No, I can take it. Don't worry.", I said.
"Okay… Oh! I've never given Donna a key." The Doctor realized and pulled a key out of one of his pockets. "Keep that. Go on, that's yours. Quite a big moment, really."
"I got mine, because Martha got hers…" I said and looked at him.
Auntie choked. "Yeah, maybe we'll get sentimental after the world's finished choking to death." I could only smile.
"Good idea." The Doctor nodded, took my hand and we started to run.
"Where are you going?"
"To stop a war!" the Doctor replied.
"To save the world. As usually." There was a big smile on my face.
(^.^)
"Fine then, here we are! Good. Whatever you do, Colonel Mace, do not engage the Sontarans in battle. There is nothing they like better than a war. Just leave this to me." The Doctor screamed after he arrived in the media room.
"And what are you going to do?"
"I've got the TARDIS. I'm going to get on board their ship." The Doctor explained. Meanwhile I looked at Martha. I couldn't say why, but I had the feeling that something was wrong with her. "Come on, Martha", the Doctor said and we three left the media room.
We ran and arrived where the TARDIS should be.
"But where's the TARDIS?" Martha asked.
"Better question: Where is Auntie?" I whispered to myself, so that nobody could hear it.
"Taste that, in the air."
"I guess we both should try not to breath to much from this air… it's poisonous…" I remind the Doctor.
"Blah, blah, that sort of metal tang. Teleport exchange."
"Do you mean that…?" I asked scared.
"It's the Sontarans. They've taken it. I'm stuck on Earth, like… like an ordinary person, like a human. How rubbish is that? Sorry, no offence, but, come on!"
Again I looked at Martha. Shouldn't she react in some kind?
"So, what do we do?" she asked. Well not the reaction I was waiting for, but at least something.
"Well… I mean, it's shielded, they could never detect it…" the Doctor began and looked closer at Martha.
"WHAT?" she asked annoyed.
"I was just wondering, have you phoned your family and Tom?"
"No. What for?"
"The gas. Tell them to stay inside. Emma did it already in the car"
"Course I will, yeah, but what about Donna?"
"Oh, she's gone home" the Doctor said and looked at me. "She's not like you two. She's not a soldier. Right, so, Avanti!" I realized that the Doctor also figured out that something was not right with Martha… I thought about his words, was it possible? Did the Doctor really think that Martha could be a spy of the Sotarians?
(^.^)
We came back to the media room. "Change of plan!" the Doctor screamed and put off his coat.
"Good to have you fighting alongside us, Doctor." Mace said.
"Not fighting. I'm not fighting, as in not-hyphen-fighting. Got it? Now, does anyone know what this gas is yet?"
"We're working on it. It's harmful, but not lethal until it reaches 80% density" a woman explained, while Martha took her place again. "We're having the first reports of deaths from the centre of Tokyo city."
"Who are you?"
"Captain Marion Price, sir"
"Oh, put your hand down. Don't salute."
"Sorry, but he really hates that" I said to Marion and followed the Doctor.
"Jodrell Bank's traced the signal, Doctor, coming form 5,000 miles above the Earth. We're guessing that's what triggered the cars."
"The sontaran ship" the Doctor and I said at the same time and looked at the monitor.
"NATO's gone to DEFCON 1. We're preparing a strike." Mace explained. The Doctor turned around shocked.
"You can't do that. Nuclear missiles won't even scratch the surface. Let me talk to the Sontarans."
"You're not authorized to speak on behalf of the Earth."
"I've got that authority. I earned that a long time ago." The Doctor said and used his sonic on the communication board. "Calling the Sontaran command ship, under Jusisdiction 2 of the Intergalactic Rules of Engagement. This is the Doctor."
"Doctor… breathing at last" the Sontarians said.
"My God, they're like trolls."
"Yeah, loving the diplomacy, mate. SO… tell me, General Staal, since when did you lot become cowards?" the Doctor asked and took a seat.
"How dare you?"
"Oh, that's diplomacy" Mace said.
"Oh, shut up" I said to him.
"Doctor, you impugn my honour!"
"Yeah, I'm really glad you didn't say 'belittle' 'cause then I'd have a field day. But poison gas? That's the weapon of a coward and you know it. Staal, you could blast this planet out of the sky, and yet you're sitting up above watching it die. Where's the fight in that? Where's the honour? Or, are you lot planning something else? 'Cause this isn't normal Sontaran warfare. What are you lot up to?"
"A general would be unwise to reveal his strategy to the opposing forces."
"Ah, the war's not going so well, then. Losing, are we?"
"Such a suggestion is impossible!"
"What war?" Mace and I asked at the same time.
"The war between the Sontarans and the Rutans. It's been raging, far out in the stars, for 50,000 years. 50,000 years of bloodshed, and for what?"
"For victory." Staal said before all Sontarans started to chant "Sontar-ha! Sontar-ha!"
"Give me a break" the Doctor said and used his screwdriver to watch cartoons.
"Doctor, I would seriously recommend that this dialogue is handled by official Earth representation." Mace said.
The Doctor, ignoring the general, used his sonic again and asked the Sontarans "Finished?"
"You will not be so quick to ridicule when you see our prize. Behold! We are the first Sontarans in history to capture a TARDIS."
"Well, as prizes go, that's noble. As they say in Latin, dona nobis pacem. Did you never wonder about its design? It's a phone box. It contains a phone, a telephonic device for communication. Sort of symbolic. Like, if only we could communicate, you and I."
"All you have communicated is your distress, Doctor but we have no time."
"Bit mistake, though showing it to me. 'cause I've got a remote control.
"Cease transmission!"
"Oh, well that achieved nothing" Mace said.
"Oh, you'd be surprised" the Doctor replied and smiled at me.
(^.^)
The Doctor and I went to Martha, who was checking the gas. The Doctor took the paper out of her hand. She just looked at him, before she started
"Carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, nitrogen oxides, but 10% unidentified. Some sort of artificial heavy element we can't trace. You've ever seen anything like it?"
"Must be something the Sontarans invented. This isn't just poison. They need this gas for something else. What could that be?"
"Launch grid online and active."
"Positions, ladies and gentlemen. DEFCON 1 initiatives in progress", Mace announced.
"What? I told you not to launch!"
"The gas is at 60% density. 80% and people start dying, Doctor. We've got no choice."
"You always have a choice. And you just make a stupid one." I screamed at the colonel.
"Launching in 60, 59, 58, 57, 56…" the Doctor and I looked panicked at each other. If they launch it, they will kill the world and Auntie. "Worldwide nuclear grid now coordinating in 54, 53…"
"You're making a mistake, Colonel. For once, I hope the Sontarans are ahead of you."
"North America, online. United Kingdom, online. France, online. India, online, Pakistan, online. China, online. North Korea, online. All systems locked and coordinated. Launchinig in 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4…"
"God save us" I heard Mace say and locked panicked over to Martha.
"… three, two, one, zero." I saw how Martha pushed a button on her mobile and the system broke down after some moments. Was that a coincidence?
"What is it? What happened?" Mace asked. "Did we launch? Well, did we?"
"Negative, sir. The launch codes have been wiped, sir. It must be the Sontarans."
The Doctor pushed me a bit in Martha's direction and we went to her.
"Can we override it?" Mace asked.
"Trying it now, sir"
"Missiles wouldn't even dent that ship, so why are the Sontarans so keen to stop you? Any ideas?" the Doctor asked Martha directly. I was looking forward to one of her funny ideas.
"How should I know?" she asked instead. Okay, something was definitive wrong with Martha. That's not my Martha. The Doctor and I looked at each other. We both knew that something was wrong.
"Greyhound 40 declaring absolute emergency. Sontarans within factory grounds. East corridor, grid 6." We heard Ross voice from the communication board.
"Absolute emergency. Declaring Code Red. All troops, Code Red." Mace announced.
"I'm sorry, but are you stupid? How often should the Doctor explain you again that the Sontarans are a warrior race?" I asked.
"Get them out of there" the Doctor said strictly.
Mace looked at us and continued his order. "All troops, open fire."
"The guns not working. Inform all troops, standard weapons do not work." Ross informed us. Then we heard some people scream and as usually I took the hand of the Doctor, to keep me calm. "Tell the Doctor it's that Cordolaine signal. He's the only one who can stop them." And then we heard a strange sound. I was sure that this means, that Ross was dead.
"Greyhound 40, report. Over. Greyhound 40, report. Greyhound 40, report."
"He is dead…" I said.
"He wasn't Greyhound 40. His name was Ross. Now listen to me, and get them out of there!"
"Trap One, to all stations. Retreat. Order imperative. Immediate retreat." Mace said.
(^.^)
"They have taken the factory."
"Why? They don't need it. Why attack now. What are they up to? At times like this, I could do with the Brigadier. No offence"
"None taken. Sir Alistair's a fine man, if not the best. Unfortunately, he's stranded in Peru."
"Launch grid back online", Price started. But after some moments the system broke down again. "They're inside the system, sir. It's coming from within UNIT itself."
"Trace it. Find out where it's coming form, and quickly."
I whispered in the Doctor's ear. "I guess it's Martha."
He looked at me surprised.
"Gas level?" Mace asked.
"66% in major population areas, and rising."
(^.^)
"Why are they defending the factory only after we're inside?"
"Because they wanted UNIT here. You gave them something they needed, something now hidden inside the factory, something precious."
"Then we got to recover it. This Cordolaine signal thing, how does it work?"
"It's the bullets" the Doctor started.
"It causes expansion of the copper shell." I finished.
"Understood. I'm on it." Mace said and left the conference room.
"For the billionth time, you can't fight Sontarans!" the Doctor screamed.
As Mace left the Doctor asked me for my phone. I gave it to him and he called a number.
"Still on Earth, but don't worry. I've got my secret weapon… You…Yeah, I haven't got a remote, though. I really should, but I need you on that ship. That's why I made them move the TARDIS. I'm sorry, but you've got to go outside… SontARAns. But they'll be on battle stations right now. They don't exactly walk about having coffee. I can talk you through it… I know, and I wouldn't ask, but there's nothing else I can do. The whole planet is choking, Donna…The Sontarans are inside the factory, which means they've got a teleport link with the ship, and they'll have deadlocked it. I need you to reopen the link… Donna, stop talking about yourself like that." I decided to take the phone from the Doctor.
"Auntie?" I asked.
"Emma, everything alright?"
"More or less. Listen to me Auntie. You can do it. I mean, you can take care of me, Gramps and Sylvia. You even wanted to beat up my dad when he left and mum said you are two heads smaller than him. So a simple reopen thing won't be that hard, right?"
"But Emma…"
"Auntie… you are brilliant. You will do that. You will save the world… save me, Gramps and Fiona…"
"Okay, sweety. Give me the Doctor again" she said.
"Okay, see you soon." I said and gave the phone to the Doctor.
"Donna… you can do this, I promise… Did he see you?... Right, Donna, listen. On the back of his neck, on his collar, there's a sort of a plug, like a hole, the Probic Vent. One blow to the Probic Vent knocks them out… I'm sorry, I swear, I'm so sorry, but you've got to try… Oh… Now then, you've got to find the external junction feed to the teleport… Uh, circular panel on the wall, big symbol on the front, like a letter "T" with a horizontal line through it. Or two "F"s back to back…Should be a switch by the side… You've got three fingers… OH, you are brilliant, you are… Gotta go. Keep the line open." The Doctor said to Auntie and ran out, because Mace had returned.
"I said you don't stand a chance."
"Positions. That means everyone." Mace said and threw a gas masks to the Doctor. He handed one to me and we followed him.
"You're not going without me!" Martha shouted suddenly.
"Wouldn't dream of it" the Doctor said.
(^.^)
"Latest firing stock. What do you think, Doctor?" Mace asked the Doctor while showing him the weapons outside.
"Are you my mummy?"
"If you could concentrate… Bullets with a rad-steel coating, no copper surface, should overcome the Cordolaine signal."
"But the Sontarans have got lasers. You can't even see in this fog. The night-vision doesn't work."
"Thank you, Doctor. Thank you for your lack of faith. But this time I'm not listening." Mace said, put of his mask and went away.
"First, did he ever listen to you in the first place? Second he is right."
"What do you mean?" the Doctor asked me.
"You always tell the aliens, that Humans are smart, and can achieve greatness. But this time, when Mace had this brilliant idea, of how they could make some points at least… you make him down. He knows that the Sontarans have lasers. He knows that they can hardly see. But he believes in the Human race, as you do normally too" I said and turned to Mace.
"Attention, all troops. Sontarans might think of us as primitive, as does every passing species with an axe to grind. They make a mockery of our weapons, our soldiers, our ideals. But no more. From this point on, it stops. From this point on, the people of Earth fight back. And we show them. We show the warriors of Sontar what the human race can do. Trap One to Hawk Major, go, go, go!" As Mace ended, suddenly something moved down and we could see a ship. "It's working. The area's clearing. Engines to maximum!"
"It's the Valiant." The Doctor screamed surprised.
"UNIT carrier ship Valiant report for duty, Doctor, with engines strong enough to clear away the fog."
"That's Brilliant" the Doctor said laughing.
"Fantastic" I said and the Doctor looked at me confused for a moment.
"Getting a taste for it, Doctor?" Mace asked.
"No, not at all. Not me."
"Valiant, fire at will." Mace said and the started to attack the factory. Finally I removed the gas mask, the Doctor and Martha did that already.
"It really works" I said and ran in the building.
"East and north secure. Doctor?"
"Donna, hold on, I'm coming." The Doctor said to the phone.
"Shouldn't we follow the Colonel?" Martha asked, when the Doctor and I stopped, while the colonel continued running.
"Ah, you, Emma Smith and me, Martha Jones, just like old times. Alien technology, this way!" the Doctor said and Martha looked on her phone before she decided to follow us. We were following the being of the sonic. "No Sontarans here. They can't resist a battle. Here we go." The Doctor said, as we came in an empty floor. The Doctor opened finally a door and we entered a weird room. And there was Martha laying in a weird construction… One moment… MARTHA?
"Oh, Martha, I'm so sorry. Still alive." The Doctor said, after he ran to Martha. The fake Martha still followed him and put out a gun, pointing on him.
"Am I supposed to be impressed?"
"Wish you carried a gun now?"
"Not at all."
"I've been stopping the nuclear launch all this time."
"Doing exactly what I wanted. And we knew that already. Emma figured it out. I needed to stop the missiles just as much as the Sontarans. I'm not having Earth start an interstellar war. You're a triple agent."
"When did you know?"
"About you? Oh, right from the start. Reduced iris contraction, slight thinning on the hair follicles on the left temple, and frankly, you smell. What about you Emma?"
"Had a weird feeling about her too. She didn't act like the Martha I know."
"You see. You might as well have worn a T-shirt saying 'clone', although maybe not in front of Captain Jack. You remember him, don't you? 'Cause you've got all her memories. That's why the Sontarans had to protect her, to keep you inside UNIT. Martha Jones is keeping you alive." The Doctor said and pulled something out of the construction, in which the real Martha was laying. Both Marthas started to gasp for air. Clone Martha lost the gun and I kicked it away. "All right, all right, I'm here, I'm here, I've got you, I've got you."
"There was this thing, Doctor, this alien, with this head…" Martha started, while the mobile started to ring.
"Oh… Blimey, I'm busy." the Doctor said and picked up, while I continued helping Martha getting out. "Got it?... Take off the covering. All the blue switches inside, flick them up, like a fuse box. And that should get the teleport working."
Martha looked over to her clone. "Oh, my God! That's me. "
"Martha… don't freak out… She is your clone She took over you place. The Sontarans, that's the name of the aliens that sent her."
The Doctor was trying to fix the teleporter and I took his coat and gave it to Martha. She went to her clone and wanted to touch her.
"Don't touch me."
"It's not my fault. The Sontarans created you, but you had all my memories."
"You've got a brother, sister, mother and father… and a best friend." The clone looked at me.
"If you don't help me, they're going to die."
"You love them."
"Yes. Remember that?"
"The gas. Tell us about the gas." The Doctor screamed.
"He is the enemy."
"Then tell me. It's not just poison. What's it for? Martha, please!"
"Caesofine concentrate. It's one part Bosteen, two part Probic 5."
"Clonefeed. It's clonefeed!"
"What's clonefeed?" Real-Martha asked.
"Martha… isn't it obvious?" I asked.
"Like amniotic fluid for Sontarans, that's why they're not invading. They're converting the atmosphere, changing the planet into a clone world. Earth becomes a very high hatchery 'cause the Sontarans are clones. That's how the reproduce. Give them a planet this big, they'll create billions of new soldiers. The gas isn't poison. It's food." The Doctor explained and continued fixing the teleporter.
"My heart, it's getting slower."
"There is nothing I can do."
"In your mind, you've got so many plans. There's so much that you want to do."
"And I will. Never do tomorrow what you can do today, my mum says."
"Cause you never know how long you've got. Martha Jones, all that life…" Clone Martha said and died.
Carefully Martha removed the engagement ring and put it on again.
"Now" the Doctor screamed in the mobile and Auntie appeared.
"Have I ever told you how much I hate you?" she asked the Doctor and hugged him.
"Hold on! Hold on! Get off me! Get off me! Got to bring the TARDIS down." The Doctor said and used his sonic on the teleporter. "Martha are you ready?"
"What about this nuclear-launch thing?"
"Keep pressing 'N'. Want to keep those missiles on the ground."
"There's two of them."
"It's a clone Auntie. Don't worry." I said to her and hugged her.
"It's a long story. Here we go! The old team back together. Well the new team." The Doctor said after Auntie and I went to the teleporter.
"We're not going back on that ship!" Auntie screamed.
"No, no, no, I need to get the teleport working so that we can get to… Here. The Rattigan Academy, owned by..."
"Don't tell anyone what I did. It wasn't my fault. The Sontarans lied to me. They…"
"If I see one more gun…" the Doctor said and passed Rattigan. So did Martha and Auntie.
"You know, that coat sort of works."
"I feel like a kid in my dad's clothes."
"Oh, well, if you're calling him Dad, you're definitely getting over him." Auntie finished.
"Luke, are you alright?" I asked him. He just nodded and we went to follow the Doctor.
"That's why the Sontarans wanted to stop the missiles. They were holding back. Because the caesofine gas is volatile, that's why they had to use you to stop the nuclear attack. Ground-to-air engagement could've sparked off the whole thing." The Doctor explained and started to build something.
"What, like set fire to the atmosphere?" Martha asked.
"Yeah, they need all the gas intact to breed their clone army. And all the time we had Luke here, in his dream factory. Planning a little trip, were we?"
"They promised me a new world."
"And you were building equipment, ready to terraform El Mondo Luko, so that humans could live there and breathe the air with this. An atmospheric converter." The Doctor said and took the device, which he just build and ran outside.
"That's London", Auntie said, when she saw all the fog. "You can't even see it. My family's in there" she started to sob. I hugged her
"Everything will be alright with Gramps and Sylvia. I promise"
"If I can get this on the right setting…" the Doctor mumbled to himself.
"Doctor, hold on. You said the atmosphere would ignite."
"Yeah, I did, didn't I?" he said and pressed a button. A red energy ball flew up the sky, in the fog. Something lit up, and a giant explosion. "Please, please, please, please, please, please." I heard the Doctor. The whole sky burnt. And then the fire disappeared.
"He is a genius" Luke said about the Doctor.
"Just brilliant", Martha said.
"Now we're in trouble." The Doctor said and ran back inside. He ran directly to the teleporter.
"Right. So, Donna, thank you for everything. Martha, you, too. Oh… So many times. Luke, do something clever with your life. Emma…"
"You're saying goodbye", Auntie cut in.
"Sontarans are never defeated. They'll be getting ready for war. And well, you know, I've recalibrated this for Sontaran air, so…"
"You're going to ignite them?"
"You'll kill yourself."
"Just send that thing up on its own. I don't know. Put it on a delay."
"Martha is right" I said.
"I can't"
"Why not?"
"You can, you just don't want to."
"I've got to give them a choice. Emma, I…" but he pressed the button and disappeared.
Auntie and Martha started to sob and I started to think. We have to rescue him.
Suddenly Luke went to the teleporter and fiddled with some cables. Martha and Auntie were standing on the desk and talking with each other while I watched him, wondering what he was doing.
"What are you doing?", I asked him.
"Something clever" Luke replied and pressed a button. He disappeared and the Doctor showed up in the teleporter. He sat down and looked at us in front of him. Martha sat down next to him and Auntie punched him, before she also took a seat next to him. I remained standing in front of him.
(^.^)
Donna and I were at her Mum's place, chatting with Gramps. Sylvia just came back.
"The streets are half empty. People still aren't driving. There's kids on bikes all over the place. It's wonderful. Unpack that, love. I'm going to see if Suzette's all right."
"I won't tell her. Best not. Just keep it as our little secret, eh? Between me and my girls."
"Yeah!" Auntie and I said in the same moment.
"Are you go with him, that wonderful Doctor. You go and see the stars. And then bring a bit of them back for your old gramps."
"We will" I said and Donna and I hugged him before we left.
The TARDIS was waiting outside, we went inside.
"How were they?" Martha asked.
"Oh… Same old stuff. They're fine. So, you gonna come with us?" Auntie asked. "We're not exactly short of space."
"OH, I have missed all this, but, you know… I'm good here, back at home. And I'm better for having been away. Besides, someone needs me. Never mind the universe, I've got a great big world of own now." Martha said, as the TARDIS closed the door and started to move. We all started to scream in panic.
"What? What?" I heard the Doctor.
"Doctor, don't you dare!"
"No, no, I didn't touch anything. Emma?"
"Me neither!" I screamed back.
"We're in flight. It's none of us."
"Where are we going?" Auntie asked.
"I don't know. It's out of control.
"Doctor, just listen to me. You take me home. Take me home right now!" Martha screamed.
