Disclaimer: Hey guys, guess what. I still don't own Mass Effect. Or Commander Shepard. Or BIOWare. Or any of their stuff. There, I said it.

Ellanis stood over the grave of Kaidan Alenko, deep in thought over what had happened to him. She remembered the day she lost her friend like it was only yesterday... She was up in the tower, Saren having just gotten away. She got the comm call from both Kaidan and Ash at the same time. She could only save one, and Ash was with more forces to save. Kaidan was pinned down by enemy fire. He died in pain. He died alone, with only a single 'I'm sorry' to follow him into oblivion.

"Fight them, Shepard. Fight and win."

Those were Kaidan Alenko's last words before a Geth sniper put a bullet right into his throat. He died trying to take a breath.

Ellanis punches his grave, hurting her hand and not making her feel any better about what happened. Kaidan died simply because she wanted to save more people. He was a good soldier, and hadn't deserved to die like that.

She sighed. "Kaidan, I am so sorry. You never deserved to die. Not like that. Not before we really got a chance to give it to the Reapers hard. You died for a cause that you never got to see the results of. And I'm sorry for that,"

She felt strangely better after getting that off of her chest, but she still didn't feel right. She figured that this was just the beginning.

Going to the edge of the graveyard, she was met by Liara with a skycar. Liara looked at Ellanis with a concerned look. "How are you feeling?"

Shepard looked at Liara, tears in her eyes. "I don't think I'm ok."

Earlier, Ellanis looked at Liara and asked to go to the memorial graveyard. "I'm not sure I can really drive right now."

Liara looked a little concerned. "Are you sure that you're up to seeing that right now? I know that there are a few things there that might upset you."

Ellanis, a slightly sad look on her face, shook her head. " I think that that sort of thing might be what I need to clear my head."

Liara, knowing that once her bondmate decided on something, she really wasn't set on changing her mind, grabbed the keys to the new skycar that they had picked a month or so ago for longer trips. "Well, let's head out then."

Driving back from the graveyard, Liara squeezed her partners hand. "Who did you go and see?"

Ellanis squeezed her hand back. "Went to see Kaidan. Just sat there for a bit, didn't go see anyone else." Not that there wasn't anyone else to see. Miranda, Jack, Mordin... Hell, even Ash... The war was goddamn hard.

Liara saw the look on Shepards face, and adopted a sad look of her own. "Ella, you know that if they were here, they wouldn't want you to blame yourself. Right?"

Ellanis stayed quiet until they got home and into the living room. "Liara..."

The asari looked back over her shoulder and smiled. ::Yes?:: and barely had time to turn around before the red haired beauty was holding her.

Ellanis sighed. "I need you to help me do something."

Liara looked up at her bondmate. "Anything for you, you know that."

Ellanis looked over Liara's head, into the bedroom. "I need to get rid of my armor."

The blue eyes shot up to meet the silver ones. "If you're sure..."

Shepard smiled. "And possibly do a few other things afterwards..."

Liara grinned. ::Now that I can get behind.:: , she thought, and kissed her partner passionately.

Moving into the room, they looked at the battered and bruised armor pieces. "Well, I guess this can just get disposed of." said the redhead.

Liara just waved a hand, and the whole set got off the rack and crumpled itself. When Ellanis looked at the small asari, she just shrugged. "It's been sitting there for a long time. Broken like that, it was simple to just crush." The crumpled metal then tossed itself into a receptacle appropriate for disposing of armor, and the two went to bed.

Early next morning, Liara woke up before Ellanis, and thought to herself, Wow. That was amazing and open and... Liara was suddenly wide awake with a startling realization.
"Oh my goddess... I think we just made a child."

AN: Wow guys, was that a chapter that took a turn for the strange and sudden. Ellanis got rid of her armor, went to Kaidan's grave, and concieved a child! That was weird to write, but hey, I just make sure that you guys hear about it first.

SHOUTOUTS! We had some reviews of last chapter, so let's talk to the reviewers, xLittlePixiex and CmdrHawke667!

xLittlePixiex: Little Pixie, I am so glad you like what's happened so far. This has been just me, not trying to find what a normal situation would look like and try to emulate that, because these two are not normal. Shepard was always more extreme. I hope this next update made you happy, and you come back anytime you want.

CmdrHawke667: I know, Shepard doesn't usually fall into the insane pit, does she?

ELLANIS: I'm not insane!

DALEKSTORM: Yes you are, shut it. Anyway, thanks for coming and checking this out! It's been fun to write for viewers like you!

I'm glad you all keep coming back chapter after chapter. Makes me feel good about the things that I write. With this new development, who knows what comes next for Shep and Liara? Stay tuned, and keep it blue!
