Guess who's back~~~! So I do apologize for my super long hiatus; I've been busy with college and work and just a general feeling of yuckiness. I've had a lot to do, but haven't had any motivation to do it, but I'm on spring break right now and thought that this would be a good time to finish this chapter and get it posted for you guys.
Thank you all so much again for sticking with me; and without further ado, onto the story!
Ouran 9
Haruhi relayed the events of the Host Club to me over the phone within the next couple of days. My face was starting to heal; the swelling had gone down and my skin wasn't that nasty yellow and green color. I still couldn't open my eye much, but at least I didn't have to have an ice pack glued to my face every waking moment.
At that moment, Haruhi was telling me about the fiasco with the twins and some elementary school student who'd wanted Tamaki to take him under his wing. She had to rant a little bit about the twins calling her their toy and also about the Photoshopped picture on the club's website, which I was currently staring at in shock, mirth, and I was also impressed.
"They do have some awesome skills." I said, scrolling through the pictures.
"Don't tell me you're looking at it right now!"
"Take note Fujioka: never pique my curiosity." I stood and wandered around my loft.
"You're a jerk sometimes, you know that?"
"I've been told. So how'd it go with His Majesty?"
"Ugh; he sulked in the corner for at least an hour when I told everyone you had to be under house arrest until your face healed. He's such an idiot sometimes."
"'Sometimes'?" I asked, leaning against the window. Haruhi paused and muttered "Good point" before finishing her story. I slid down the glass until I was sitting cross legged on the carpet listening to her, but also starting to let my mind wander.
"Kashi? Are you still there?" Haruhi's voice jolted me, and then a whole chorus of other voices joined in.
"You've got Kashi on the phone?"
"Hi, Kassa-chan! We miss you!"
"Yeah."
"Kashi, please tell Daddy you're all right!"
" . . . Am I on speaker phone right now?" I wondered, bringing the phone back to my ear after Tamaki's outburst into my eardrums.
"Well you weren't before, but I accidentally hit the button. Sorry." Haruhi apologized. I sighed, an unfamiliar smile pulling at my lips.
"I'm fine you guys. I should be back in a day or two, Your Highness." I explained, flopping down onto my bed.
I heard Tamaki let out a dramatic sigh of relief.
"You've really gotta stop inflating his ego." Haruhi sounded exasperated, and I chuckled in response.
"Unfortunately I'm a smarta**; I can't help it."
A knock on my door made me cut off my conversation with the promise of talking to the Hosts later. My older brother stood at the door looking sheepish and slightly perturbed; that wasn't a good news face. "Are you okay, brother?" I asked, lifting an eyebrow.
"You . . . might wanna come downstairs. Natsuko found something the other day. . ." He gestured for me to follow and the two of us walked to my sisters' room. Her TV was blaring and flickering while my other siblings watched with rapt attention to whatever was happening on screen; Natsuko herself looked overly smug, arms and legs crossed with an evil smile across her face. Akiru and Emi wore mixed expressions: Emi was more of a drooling fan girl, and Akiru just looked thoroughly confused.
I walked around the couch to see what they were watching, and my heart dropped into my shoes before ricocheting back up into my stomach.
It was that stupid film we'd made.
"You . . . bought . . . y-you seriously . . ." I choked out, feeling queasy.
"Too good of an opportunity to pass up." Natsuko got hearts in her eyes. "How else could watch Tamaki in all his lonely prince beauty?"
I let out a small sigh of relief; she hadn't bought the video to embarrass me.
"You know, if the art thing doesn't pan out, you could always go into acting." Akiru said off-handedly as my pathetic scene came on. I glared at my younger brother and hissed: "Not helping!"
"I'm just saying!" He turned to look at me, auburn hair swinging into his eyes, and I raked it back with my fingers.
"You need a haircut."
"Do you mind?" Natsuko shoved all of us noisy siblings out of her room and locked the door, but I could still hear her squealing over Tamaki.
"That girl has issues." Kekkaishi folded his arms across his chest.
"You're just now realizing this?" Akiru and I deadpanned in unison.
"I am merely stating the obvious. Besides, from what I've heard about Suoh from the other guys in class, I'm pretty sure he swings the other direction if you know what I mean." He hissed that last part so Natsuko wouldn't hear.
The idea of Tamaki swinging the other way was so hilarious to me that I let out a snort; a very unattractive and very loud snort.
"Not the reaction I anticipated, I'll admit." Akiru looked at me with concern as I rolled on the floor laughing.
"Sorry; just the idea." I apologized, standing and making my way back to my room. I was still giggling as I got ready for bed, but stopped when I realized that all the laughter was making my black eye worse.
"Ah geez. What was that ring made out of, iron?" I asked myself. "It should've healed up by now." I pulled an ice pack out of my mini fridge (for art reasons) and pressed it to my eye. I'd probably have to sleep with it on again, which I didn't look forward to. I'd had a couple nightmares about being chased around an icy clubroom by angry penguins wearing the male uniform jackets.
The next day had me riding in the limo with my other siblings, having woken up late and not really having any other options. I'd shoved my contacts into my school bag and pulled my glasses on as I raced out the door, feeling extremely cliché as I carried a quick piece of buttered toast in my mouth while running to the car. I slid ungracefully in next to my brother and just about ended up in his lap.
"Morning." He smirked at me. I smacked him in the chest and removed the toast so I could yell.
"Why didn't you wake me up when I slept through my alarm?" I shouted to the general population of the car.
"You looked so peaceful; and you know how cranky you are in the mornings." Natsuko said, sprucing in the mirror. She pulled me off Kekkaishi's lap and onto the seat next to her, and she started brushing through my hair sharply.
"Ow! Easy with that."
"I hate bedhead; I can't do anything with it." She complained, giving my hair one last yank.
"Which is exactly why I don't." I winced as the brush destroyed the natural tangles in my hair. It was a naturally wavy mess when it was long; in my guise as a boy, it was just a tousled mess that—according to the twins—had the ladies swooning.
I extracted myself from my sister's hair pulling and ran my fingers through it a couple times, ignoring the face Natsuko was making at me.
"The just rolled out of bed look is all the rage these days, just so ya know." I said smugly.
"You think you're gonna be able to wear your contacts with your eye like that?" Emi wondered, one hand poised over her mouth.
"It's not a big deal . . . never mind it's a big deal. Ow." I complained. Apparently my eye was still tender that I couldn't get my contacts anywhere near it.
"Your glasses should be just fine, shouldn't they?" Natsuko asked, pulling something out of her bag.
"I'm not gonna wear the monstrosities to school! The twins already make fun of me enough!" I protested, holding my glasses up for emphasis.
My glasses were the big square kind with blue plastic frames; hipster glasses that I'd had since middle school and I hated. The moment Mom had allowed me to get contacts I had almost cried out of sheer happiness.
"Come over here and I can fix that." Natsuko smiled evilly, gel and a comb perched in her manicured hands. It didn't seem like she was giving me any choice, so I slid over and allowed my older sister to run rampant.
"If the twins harass me during club today, I'm placing the blame on your perfectly coiffed head." I warned. Natsuko smacked me in forehead.
"Oh hush, you big baby. You just need to trust me a little more."
"The last time you did anything with my hair it took a week to get the product out. Forgive me for being wary of people messing with my head." I replied, shuddering at that particular memory.
The car pulled up to the front gates of the school and I and my siblings exited, each of them running off to their various school buildings. Kekkaishi and Akiru caught up with a couple of his buddies from kendo; Natsuko and Emi went off with their friends, giggling and whispering; which left me standing awkwardly in the middle of the courtyard.
"Morning~~~" said two voices as weight settled on my shoulders. I knew that this was gonna be a long day right off.
"What's with the new look? I almost thought you were Kyoya-senpai." Hikaru said, removing my glasses. I cursed and snatched them back, readjusting them against my nose.
"I told you guys: I have to wear glasses occasionally." I strode forward, making the twins lose their balanced and stumble into step behind me. Kaoru slid an arm around my waist and was closely followed by his brother. My face turned pink.
"Right now isn't a good time guys." I mumbled, but the twins ignored me, walking into school amongst the squeals of the girls.
"Aw, we couldn't let you go into school unaccompanied; that'd be so rude." Kaoru had the audacity to run his fingers down my neck. I jerked my head away, brushed the twins arms off of me, and spotted Tamaki coming down the hallway.
Time to screw with the Host Club King.
I raced down the hall and threw my arms around Tamaki's neck, pretending to sob violently. Tamaki staggered from the sudden weight and surprise, wrapping his arms around me to steady himself.
"Kashi, what's going on?"
"The shady twins were picking on me again!" I wailed, glancing out of my peripheral to see Hikaru and Kaoru stiffen up in shock at Tamaki's murderous glare. I smirked to myself and untangled my limbs from his. I made a big show of wiping away my crocodile tears as Tamaki stalked toward the twins, and I ambled along smugly to my classroom.
Haruhi looked up as I ruffled her hair.
"'Sup, Fujioka?" She looked surprised as I dropped into the seat in front of her. Her big doe eyes blinked twice before she actually said something to me.
"What happened to you? Is your face okay?" She reached out and touched the still lingering bruise, which made a sharp pain go through my face.
"Ah; still tender, but not as bad as it used to be." I admitted. "And I couldn't get my contacts in this morning, so had to wear my ramune-bottle lenses; and my sister decided to do my hair on the way over." I ran my hand through the style, which only served to make it stick up more. Natsuko had done that weird thing where all my hair got combed forward and then stuck up in the front, and it only added to unfortunate hipster look I hadn't been going for whatsoever.
The twins got through with their reprimanding and gave me death glares as they passed. I simply made a show of examining my nails and looking innocent, like I had no idea what would happen if I snitched on them to the King.
As I was walking out of school at the end of the day, I was randomly called over by Hunny and Mori-senpai. Hunny leapt straight off of Mori's shoulders and into my arms, nearly causing me to fall over.
"Kassa-chan, great news! Kyo-chan invited all of us to come see his family's water park! Isn't that great?"
"Uh . . . I guess? It's a little random, I'll admit." I said, looking over at the Shadow King making his way toward us. He did a double take at the sight of me, but I sent him a silent challenge to keep his mouth shut about it. Without saying another word, he herded the three of us into his limousine and off we went.
Now I've never enjoyed water parks to begin with—aftermath of my almost drowning—but I was feeling really paranoid that I was currently in swim trunks and an oversized T-shirt and there was high possibility that the twins might throw me in the water. Haruhi was over by the edge of the pool looking bemused. It was one of those looks you get when someone yanks the rug out from under you when you're not looking, you know?
I walked over and nudged her with my elbow.
"You look slightly befuddled, my scholarly companion." I commented. Haruhi turned towards me and I was again shocked at how much shorter she was in comparison to me.
"We are in Japan, right? And Japan's not really known for its tropical locales . . ." She asked. A slender hand came out of nowhere and rested on the both of our shoulders.
"Behold, young ones;" Tamaki's comment made me scowl. I wasn't that much younger, a year at least. If he saw my face, he decided to ignore it and continued. "Bask in the beauty of tropical birds."
I glanced up at the brightly colored feathers of the birds in the trees, and the artist in me sat up on its haunches and begged. I could feel myself making a face; I was trying not to enjoy myself looking at them, but my fingers were twitching in the pockets of my trunks.
The twins, Hunny, and Mori were all splashing around in the pool, about the same size as a standard wave pool at some of the other water parks I'd been to, complete with a complicated waterslide a few dozen feet in the air. Kyoya and Tamaki lay back on chaise chairs under the umbrellas with fruity drinks in their hands; Kyoya was explaining the logistics of the park to me and Haruhi, but I wasn't all that interested. I'd noticed that Kyoya got this annoyingly smug look on his face when he brought up the subject of his family, and it kinda pissed me off.
I took a deep breath, got a hold of my anger, and let it out . . . only to get tackled from behind by a familiar redhead. I almost toppled into the water, but Kaoru pulled me back; at least he had the decency to look concerned.
"Are you okay?" He asked. I blinked a couple times before I came to my senses and flicked him in the forehead.
"Yeah; I'm fine. Just watch where you're tackling someone next time." I straightened my glasses. He rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly.
"Yeah, sorry."
"Hey, Miyazaki. Now don't tell me you're a shy little violet." Hikaru said from behind me, tugging on the hem of my t-shirt. I slapped his hand away.
"I'm not about to strut around half naked just so you two can make fun of me. And why pick on me when Haruhi's wearing that bright yellow eyesore?" I gestured over to her and the twins followed my gaze.
"Good point; what's the deal with that pullover you're wearing?" Hikaru asked, taking a pause from eating his banana. Haruhi looked down at it with something like disdain. She told us about Tamaki's little modesty freak out back at the changing rooms, when the twins had their maids force Haruhi into a bathing suit.
I snorted; Tamaki was such an airhead.
"So, you're not going to swim?" Hikaru asked, tossing his banana peel over his shoulder. Kaoru squinted at the both of us.
"Hold on; you guys do know how to swim, don't you?"
"Yeah . . ." I drawled in a "duh" voice.
"I can swim just as well as the next guy, but this isn't my idea of fun." Haruhi said. Funny how we got stuck with the lazy bones heroine.
The twins and Haruhi launched into an argument I wasn't really paying attention to, when Tamaki pulled the two of them aside and I got dragged into the circle.
"You idiots; if Haruhi says it's a pool, then it's a pool, got it? Don't go embarrassing her; she can't help it that she's an ignorant commoner."
"So you want us to lie to her face." I summarized. Tamaki looked nervous and flustered at my raised eyebrows.
"Never mind that, we've got a question for you." Hikaru said.
"Why did you make Haruhi put on that yellow monstrosity?" Kaoru asked. Tamaki flinched violently.
"I thought for sure you would've been all 'I wanna see Haruhi in a swimsuit!' not making her cover up like that." Hikaru said evilly. The twins leaned over to whisper in my ear.
"I get it; he made her wear that pullover so no one else would get to see her in a bathing suit!" They said. I made a face of mock horror, getting in on the act.
"Do you really think that's it? He must be one of those jealous pervert types." I said, enjoying the nervous sweat running down Tamaki's face. Kaoru followed up with a "That's really twisted", before Tamaki jumped in with an indignant: "that's not it at all!"
"I was just trying to protect her innocence, like any father or guardian would! I mean, even if she is wearing a swimsuit, it is not decent for a lady to walk around half naked in front of boys!" He protested, arms flying everywhere.
"Which of course makes it perfectly acceptable for the rest of you to walk around half naked in front of Haruhi." I said, hands in my pockets. Haruhi was looking at Tamaki with an icy expression; nothing like getting that look to kill your soul a little bit.
Hunny-senpai toddled over and clung to Haruhi's arm; I was too busy enjoying watching Tamaki's soul float out of his body to pay attention until: "It just looks cuter this way, ya know?" reached my ears.
Hold on a second . . .
Hunny-senpai skipped off, and I had to wonder if he was being as sweet and innocent as he normally was.
The ground rumbled underneath me. Haruhi glanced from side to side; "Is . . . that Renge?"
Oh sweet Buddha; please no. I begged, but the universe was not on my side that day. Renge herself rose up on a platform (Does that rig follow us?) , dressed in a black bikini with a periwinkle tattoo on her stomach, honey colored hair braided over one shoulder. A lilac parasol protected her from the artificial sun. If she was cosplaying again, I was gonna be sick; then again I had no idea who she was supposed to be this time.
"Her petite and slender frame, her blue eyes that light up young men's faces, her singing voice . . . I am Quon Kisaragi!" Renge announced proudly. I let out a "blech" and made a gag face, Renge thankfully ignorant while she posed flirtatiously. I exchanged glances with the twins at Renge's getup, and the three of us pulled Tamaki to the side.
"Are you sure it's okay for Renge to walking around dressed like that?" I asked. The twins and I made a big show of reminding the blond how much skin our "manager" was showing off.
"Well . . . yeah. That's okay." He said, shrugging. My eyes widened and I slapped both hands onto his shoulders.
"Are you kidding me? Why in the world is that okay?" I shouted. The twins backed off; they'd never seen me get upset before, which was good, 'cause I was a monster when I threw a real tantrum.
"B-because it's cosplay . . . I guess . . ." Tamaki mused. Before I could throttle him, Renge interrupted me.
"Listen up boys! You obviously need help understanding Haninozuka's hidden motives! Look!" She pointed to the tiny blond who was cannon balling into the current pool. He made a splash and giggled as the current pushed him back, his little bunny float the only thing keeping him upright. I saw Mori-senpai smile softly at him.
"What are you talking about?" Tamaki asked.
"Well, think about what he said earlier." I mentioned how Hunny said "just looks cuter this way, ya know?"
"He's not being as sweet and innocent as you think." Renge said.
"I agree." Kyoya pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose. "Try putting 'I' at the beginning of that sentence."
The other hosts thought about for a second and all seemed to come to the same realization.
"HE PLANNED THAT?!"
"That's Haninozuka for you; in the last episode, he felt threatened by the presence of another loli boy so he's taken steps to keep his rank!" Renge gushed. Her screen background gave me some good insight into what I'd missed last episode when I was out of commission with my black eye. Renge's platform went back to wherever it had first appeared, and I had to stop myself from sticking my tongue out.
"Hey! Look at this everybody!" Hunny's voice made us turn. Mori-senpai was swimming through the current as fast as he possibly could with Hunny-senpai on his back. "Check it out: even though we're swimming really fast, we never go any further than we are now!"
I kinda had to sit there and process that for a second, but then had to duck as a spray of cold water hit Tamaki square in the face. Figuring it was best to get out of the line of fire, I went and sat by the edge of the current pool and stuck my feet in the water, practicing my ballet point against the current.
"Hi, Kassa-chan!" Hunny beamed at me from where he was kicking his legs in the water. Mori had stepped out next to me and ruffled my hair as he went to grab something to drink. I pushed my bangs out of my face.
"Are you having fun?" Hunny seemed genuinely concerned.
"I'm just a little tired that's all. I said. "If I were a little more awake, I think I might enjoy myself more."
"Oh." Hunny accepted this without further comment. I braced my palms against the edge of the pool and slid into the water, letting my legs drift. I used to do exercises like all the time, strengthening the muscles in my legs and core in order to support my weight when I did dance routines.
Something shifted in the park, and suddenly the current in the pool didn't feel right. I barely had time to think "uh-oh" before a huge wave of water knocked me off my feet, sending me spiraling. My glasses were whacked off my face, my head slammed into something hard, and I blacked out.
When I came to, I was on dry ground, my clothes sticking to me, on my side under some broad fern leaves. Hunny-senpai sat next to me, looking nervous.
"Are you okay, Kassa-chan?!"
"My head hurts a little." I commented. Everything around me was blurry, but that was probably because I didn't have my glasses on. I sat up slowly just in case I had a concussion; I didn't seem to showing any signs of having one, but I didn't want to get too ahead of myself.
"I found your glasses, Kassa-chan; still okay!" Hunny-senpai held them out to me, and I put them on. The world came into clearer focus, and I had a bit of a panic moment.
"Wait a minute, did you carry me here all the way from the pool?!" Hunny-senpai shook his head. He pointed to the end of the current pool just a little ways off.
"It didn't take us that long to get to the end of the current pool, but you weren't waking up. Then I heard the thunder start and hid us under the leaves." He explained. Rain started to patter down on us. Thankfully the ferns were wide enough and close together so we didn't get wet any more than we already were.
The two of us were silent for about twenty minutes until Hunny-senpai asked: "Kassa-chan, why don't you want anyone to know you're a girl?"
The question should've shocked me, but it only confirmed my suspicions that Hunny knew I was actually a girl.
"Because then they'll start to pity me, and I don't need that." I answered. At Hunny's confused look, I explained further.
Ever since my parents died, people had always given me such pitiful looks and expressions.
"Oh, you poor dear." "All alone, no family." "Having to carry that burden at such a young age." "I'm so sorry." "I'm sorry."
"I'm sorry." I hated that phrase. I didn't want to be known as the Miyazaki girl and have people give me those sympathetic looks again, so I'd disguised as a boy and passed off my name as a coincidence. I only told the people I was really close to; that wasn't many, now that I think about it.
"I didn't want people to see me as this little girl that had this huge responsibility on her shoulders and no one to teach her how the world worked. I wanted them to see me as someone who had this responsibility but could take it on. And apparently little girls can't do that." I finished, stabbing a stick into the mud. Remember how I said earlier that I didn't like people telling me what I could or couldn't do cause I was a girl? Same principle. "I don't like to be told what I can't do."
Hunny had listened to my rant without saying anything much, and now he wrapped his tiny arms around my neck in a hug.
"Thanks, big guy." I said, returning the hug. Hunny nuzzled into my neck and pulled away, hopping to sit next to me as I doodled in the mud. "So we just hang out until the storms over huh?"
"Uh-huh. Takashi is probably looking for us right now; but maybe we can find the others first." He smiled brightly.
"That reminds me: are the two of you childhood friends or something?" It'd been on my mind since I'd joined the Host Club; those two were always together no matter what. Hunny shook his head once again.
"Takashi and I are cousins!"
I dropped my stick.
"You're related?!"
"Takashi's family has been serving my family for generations. But two generations ago our families became relatives by marriage and the master-servant relationship disappeared." He explained, drawing little flowers and bunnies in the mud. Picking up my own stick, I started drawing again, grabbing the likeness of a small lizard on the tree root next to me with a few swipes.
"Which way do you think he would've gone; Mori-senpai that is?" I asked. Hunny senpai made a map and muttered to himself for a bit. He then pointed his stick like a drum major in the North West direction.
"We go that way; it's a good place to start. How's your head feel?"
"Well, it's still on." I massaged the knot. "Just don't let me fall asleep; I don't know if I have a concussion or not."
The rain finally let up, and the two of us went in search of our friends.
I'm not sure how long we went around calling out for the rest of the Hosts, but I finally had the bright idea to climb one of the trees.
"Good idea, Kassa-chan!" Hunny-senpai scrambled up the trunk ahead of me like a monkey. I jumped up to the lowest limb I could find and hauled myself over it, following Hunny-senpai as best I could with the way he was leaping from tree to tree.
"Hunny-senpai, slow down a little!"
"I see Takashi and Haru-chan!" He cheered. I finally caught up to him and spotted two figures below us surrounded by masked gunmen in black. One of them grabbed Haruhi's arm in an attempt to get her away from Mori, but the super strong senior just backhanded the guy like it was no big deal.
My heart started to race; I needed to do something!
Two small hands wrapped my own around a vine hanging nearby, and Hunny said: "Hang on tight, Kassa-chan!"
"Wait, what?"
"Takashi, Haru-chan! Outta the way!" Hunny leapt off the tree limb and swung like a pint-sized Tarzan over the heads of the gunmen and kicked one guy in the face while I smacked face first into a wall of flesh that turned out to be Mori-senpai's shirtless torso. He swept me and Haruhi out of the line of fire, and we watched as Hunny-senpai took down every single one of the gunmen.
"You should be more careful who you mess with; picking on my friends is bad!" Hunny declared. How he could say that and still look as non-threatening as a newborn puppy was beyond me.
The sound of running footsteps behind me made me turn and then swoon as a wave of nausea hit me. Mori caught me before I could fall down as the rest of the yahoos dashed toward us, Tamaki making an immediate beeline for Haruhi; that boy needs to get a life.
The twins crouched over two of the unconscious gunmen, poking them absently. I wanted to tell them off, but any kind of movement was making me sick, and I was afraid if I did end up tossing my cookies I would hit the gunmen as well.
Despite the fact that they'd been about to attack one of my friends, they didn't deserve to wake up to my lunch regurgitated all over their faces.
"I'm not sure what happened here, but at least they're okay." Hikaru said, sounding bored.
"This is definitely Hunny-senpai's doing; he must've really been holding back." Kaoru's words took me by surprise. Hunny had kicked one guy in the face and judo-flipped the rest of them, and that was him holding back?!
Apparently I'd spoken aloud, because Kyoya explained that both Hunny and Mori senpai had both received high honors in karate and kendo respectively in their middle school years, and I would've been impressed if my vision hadn't gone blurry and I stumbled.
"Ow . . ."
"Kashi, what's wrong?" Haruhi put a hand on my arm.
"Kassa-chan whacked his head pretty good on the side of the current pool. He told me to keep him from falling asleep in case he got a . . . what was the word?"
"Concussion, Hunny-senpai?" Haruhi wondered. I gave her a thumbs up; "On the nose."
Kyoya pulled out his doctor skills and gave me a once over, coming to the conclusion that I had a very mild concussion and would be fine after a couple days taking it easy. I knew how I was spending my weekend.
The sun was starting to set outside when we finally made our way back to the main lobby, and I had several messages from my older siblings demanding to know where I was, who I was with, and to call Mom and Dad to let them know I wasn't dead in a ditch somewhere.
"What a day; I'm exhausted." I yawned, putting my hands behind my head. The twins came up behind me and each looped an arm through one of mine.
"Hey, maybe we should go to the beach next time." Hikaru suggested. Tamaki let out "pssh" noise.
"Come on you two; I'm sure Haruhi wouldn't like someplace like that." He waved a hand dismissively.
"Says you." I retorted. Haruhi paused to look at the sunset outside.
"Actually, that sounds kinda nice."
"Going to the beach? That'd be fun, don't you think?" Hunny asked from his usual spot on Mori's shoulders.
"Yeah, but I think that's a trip for another day." I slid out of the twin's grip and slung my arms around their shoulders. "Right now, I'm in need of some serious 'me' time."
"Same." The twins yawned.
Downsides to the day: I got hurt because somebody pushed the wrong button.
Upsides to the day: I felt just a little bit closer to the Hosts, and for the first time in a long time . . . I actually felt happy.
Whew! I don't know why it took me so long to get around to that point. And I know I skipped a couple episodes, but I just really wanted to write this one, cause I'll be honest that episodes 5 and 6 weren't my favorites.
Shadow Fox 2013: Back again! And thank you so much for your compliment; I love when people tell me they think my writing is wonderful, because that's one of the hardest things as a writer: accepting that people actually like your stuff. You made my day. ^-^
I'll hopefully be able to update this more frequently, I'm not sure how it's gonna be with my schedule the way it is, but I look forward to seeing you all again soon!
Mr. Review Button: zzzzzzzzzzzzz . . .
Sady: Me too, buddy. Good night everyone! zzzzzzzzz . . . .
