Disclaimer: I do not own BlazBlue of Akame Ga Kill.
It's all then you've been waiting for. The point where Akame Ga Kill really takes a serious turn. And the question whether or not Bulat is going to live. Well my dear readers, rejoice as I provide you this answer, though the form of this chapter.
I've also received questions whether or not the Jaegers are going to have someone from BlazBlue or an OC to replace Seryu. To answer your questions, I will say this. There is no OC going to replace Seryu. I find that too much of a hassle and mental stress to deal with. I've encountered multiple fanfics where there are OC villains that replace story villains, and my mind just hurts from just trying to learn about them. So I'll save you the guys from the mental stress of that.
However, there is potential that a BlazBlue character might join the Jaegers. However, I'm still debating with myself whether not the character should join. It's still a long debate with myself, so I can't say.
And I don't know whether this is important or not, but I just feel like saying it. Currently, I am in second place in most reviews when it comes to BlazBlue crossover fics. I am behind "Azure Within The Three Kingdoms". So I feel really special for making it this far. So thanks guys. I really appreciate your support.
I was also intent on posting this chapter on Christmas or Christmas eve., but I felt that you guys are going to spend your time with your families and friends rather than read fanfiction. So here is an early christmas gift from me to you guys. Enjoy.
Well, nothing else to say. So let's start this chapter.
And Happy Holidays.
Chapter 9: Kill the Three Beasts
(The Great Canal)
"Well that's one big ass boat." Ragna commented as he looked at the huge boat before them.
The boat before Ragna is what is considered huge. In this world, Ragna ranked this at the biggest boat he has ever seen. Though, this boat pales in comparison to the other ships that exist in his world. But still, seeing the large wooden chinese styled boat before him makes Ragna impressed at the design and the sheer effort of building this particular cruise ship. After all, it took one million people to build this large ship, and it took them seven years to complete. But their hard efforts were fruitful, as the ship served well in commerce.
"It's huge...!" Tatsumi said with surprise, looking at the ship before him. Ragna sighed at this.
"I just said that Tatsumi..." Ragna said, before he turned to Tatsumi. "Alright, keep your head in the game, alright? There's no time in oogling over this." Ragna told Tatsumi. Tatsumi snapped out of his shocked state and nodded at Ragna.
"Y-You're right..." Tatsumi said, before he clapped his head to focus. "We better focus on protecting our guy here." Tatsumi said.
"That's why we're here." Ragna said, before he folded his arms.
'Right. Tatsumi will board the ship normally, and Bulat will head in invisible with his teigu. I, on the other hand...' Ragna thought to himself, before he just groaned upon what he thought next.
'...Right. This isn't going to be comfortable...' Ragna thought to himself, not going to like what is coming next.
(Later - Storage Room)
'Son of a bitch! This is place is so damn cramped...!' Ragna mentally cursed to himself, before he pushed a sack near him to the far side, but didn't really do well as the place he was in was completely small.
There was a problem that lied for Ragna. It was clear that his appearance didn't help well. His white hair and muscular build makes him greatly stick out of the crowd, and his attire will make him stand out. Sure, he could put on a tuxedo to blend in with the crowd, but what about his large blade known as Blood Scythe? He can't exactly carry around such a large weapon out in the open, especially on a luxury cruise.
The solution? Get into a box that was meant to supply the cruise ship, and then hide in it and wait to get inside the ship. But even so, the size of the box was not big enough to fit him, his weapon, and the other supplies meant to be stored.
Sure, the method was good, but it didn't mean it was comfortable for Ragna.
'That's it...!' Ragna thought to himself, having enough with the cramped space.
*SMASH*
His fist came clean right through the top of the wooden box like it was paper, shattering the entire top. Ragna stood up, and then proceeded to stretch himself, making a few popping noises to be heard.
"Finally, some room to breath..." Ragna muttered to himself, and then patted the wood chips off of him. He then picked up his weapon, and sheathed it.
"Now then, if I was an asshole hiding on a ship and aiming to kill somebody innocent, where would I be...?" Ragna asked himself while he narrowed his eyes.
His answered was soon answered in the form of a song.
*WHISTLE*~*WOOO*
It sounded like it came from a recorder instrument, and it gave off a rather soft and elegant song to hear. However, the sound it gave was merely a contrast to what it's true purpose is.
"What the...?" Ragna said to himself, before he found his body slightly shaking upon hearing the noise. His eyes widened in alarm when he realized something.
"This song...it is actually causing all of this...!?" Ragna said to himself in realization, before he narrowed his eyes and gave a "tch" from his mouth.
"...So they finally show up, huh?" Ragna said to himself, before he just shrugged off the effects of the song like it was nothing. "Tch, that's one annoying sound."
As if this deadly noise will put him down just like that. It'll take more than that to bring him down, because he is widely known for having two particular traits he always had. Being stubborn as hell, as well as not giving up, no matter what. A hypnotizing noise such as this barely held effect. It'll take more than that to take him down.
"Well then..." Ragna said, grabbing onto the hilt of his blade. "...Let's get this party started."
(With Tatsumi)
Tatsumi was not having a good day right now. He first thought that with this particular crowd, and the bodyguards guarding their client, he thought that the impostors will have a hard time reaching them. Boy, was he wrong.
He suddenly heard this recorder music come into hearing, and he found himself struggling to to stand up straight. And to make things worst, everyone around him collapsed unconscious thanks to said music. It was then Tatsumi realized that the enemies were on this ship, and this deadly music is the proof of it.
"What in the world is going on!?" Tatsumi said in shock while gritting his teeth. "Everyone is falling asleep! Even if I block out the music, I can still hear it! It must be a teigu...!" Tatsumi said with realization.
*STEP* *STEP* *STEP*
"Ah, staying in hiding was so dull...oh?" a voice said with interest. Tatsumi's eyes widened, and turned to see who it was.
It was a man with a very large muscular build. He wore a leather black coat, and a white shirt underneath. He also had matching pants to go along with it. He had long, spiky blond hair and pure white, pupil-less eyes. He has a headdress similar to horns.
The man was currently rolling his shoulder while looking interested at the sight before him.
"Despite Scream, someone it still fighting? Even under hypnotism, you may remember this. So if you're allowed to live and see what we do..." the man said as he walked towards Tatsumi at a leisure pace.
"So that means...you guys are the impostor Night Raid!" Tatsumi said while narrowing his eyes.
"Ah1 So this here's one of the real ones! This is good." the man said with his tone perking up. He smirked as he then tossed something towards Tatsumi.
The brunette's eyes widened when he caught the item, and realized it was his sword.
"...What are you doing?" Tatsumi asked with suspicion and alarm. The man simply responded by bring out a particular weapon from his back.
"Well, I want fighting experience points, you know? In order to become the strongest..." the man said, as he then shifted his body into a fighting stance by bending his knees and readying his axe-like weapon.
"Come at me! It should be easy to fight here since everybody is already out of the way!" the man called out to Tatsumi.
Tatsumi's expression darkened and focused, as he then drew out his sword.
"...Yeah, that's true. Then I'll give you a good experience." Tatsumi immediately took his sword out of its sheath, and then burst into speed as he went into the air. "I'll give you a one way ticket to hell!"
The Wheel of Fate is Turning
Rebel 1
Action!
The man gave off a hungry and ecstatic grin upon Tatsumi's call. "Excellent! That power! Destroying it will give me a great experience!" the man called out as he raised his axe into the air.
"...!" Tatsumi's expression soon went into alarm, as his instincts called out to him that it was dangerous. He immediately moved his body to move backwards as soon as he touched the floor, and dodged an strong blow from the axe. It was a good call, as the axe impacted with the floor, and resulted in having chunks of wood flying everywhere while the impact area itself shattered underneath such a strong force.
Tatsumi's feet skidded on the wooden floor, giving him a distance between him and his opponent.
"Haa...Haa..." Tatsumi panted, all the while alarmed at the man's strength before him.
"Considering what the music did to your body, you dodged pretty well, didn't you?" the man said, before his grinned grew even further as he then grabbed onto a particular part of his axe. It was then the axes separated into two separate axes.
"Well then, how about this!" the man then threw the one of the axes towards Tatsumi, making the bladed weapon spin in a saw-like fashion. Tatsumi was surprised and alarmed by such an attack, and merely ducked to avoid the incoming blade. However, Tatsumi didn't know that the blade he dodged soon boomeranged and headed towards him.
His instincts alarmed him, as Tatsumi noticed the blade coming back to him.
"Wha-!?" Tatsumi exclaimed in shock, seeing the incoming blade.
"Watch your back you idiot!" a voice cried out, making Tatsumi widened his eyes even further.
'That is...!' Tatsumi noticed, before he noticed a glint in the sky. It was then a large blade fell from the sky and landed right behind Tatsumi. It was at the moment, the large metal blade served as a shield for him, for its flat side blocked the incoming blade.
*CLANG*
The thrown axe soon bounced off of the large blade that it clashed with, and soon headed back towards its owner. The owner of said weapon was surprised to see this, and soon noticed a shadow pass over him. He looked up, only to see a red coated figure go through the sky, and then land right next to Tatsumi. When he arrived, Tatsumi's eyes shined with confidence and relief.
"Ragna!" Tatsumi said with relief upon seeing a good comrade of his. Ragna, on the other hand, just gave a grunt as he picked the blade off of the floor while turning to the man before him. He then narrowed his eyes at the sight of the man.
"Tch, so that's our guy, huh? Didn't expect the prick to show up so soon." Ragna muttered to himself as didn't take his looks off of the man before him.
It took Ragna a while to find where Tatsumi is at because he was currently trying to navigate his way through the ship. He got out of the storage, so how the hell was he supposed to know the interior of the ship? It was by pure chance that he managed to find a floor above the entrance to the interior of the ship, just where the guy with the axe exited. When he spotted Tatsumi in danger, he decided that he'll throw his Blood Scythe to act as a shield.
This isn't the first time he has thrown his blade. During his time with Celica and the others from the past, he threw his Blood Scythe with perfect precision to break up the fight between Nine and Jubei.
"You alright there Tatsumi?" Ragna asked, not taking his eyes off of the enemy. Tatsumi nodded at him.
"Yeah. I'm alright. However, that song somehow drained my energy..." Tatsumi said.
"Well that ain't good..." Ragna muttered, before he raised his blade. "So, if what I'm seeing here is correct, you must be one this so called impostor of us Night Raid. And that is your teigu. Am I right?" Ragna stated. The before him gave a grin.
"Oh, it looks like a new opponent has appeared! Excellent! So much fighting experience points for me to earn!" the man said with an eager tone. Ragna gave a raised eyebrow at the man.
"Fighting...experience points? The hell? He makes it sound like we're in a video game." Ragna muttered, before he just looked unamused. "Whatever. Whether this is a game or not doesn't matter. I see a prick before me dead. And I'll be more than happy to take it from you." Ragna said coldly as positioned his body to attack. Tatsumi tensed his body as well, preparing to attack. As he did, Tatsumi felt a tap on his shoulder, and be blinked in surprise when he found that it wasn't Ragna. He then recognized who it is, but stayed quiet.
The man then gave a surprised look towards Ragna.
"You're doing awfully well, consideirng that the msuc was supposed the affect the entire music." the man commented.
"What, that little dog whistle? Please, I've heard better music, and I'm not much of a musical person myself." Ragna retorted.
The man gave a close look towards Ragna, but was surprised when he saw no wounds on Ragna. To fight off the music's effects, there are two ways. The first is to inflict pain upon yourself to ignore it, or have incredible willpower to shrug it off. For Ragna, he chose the latter.
"What an interesting guy...just shrugging off the music like it's nothing." the man said, before he raised his weapons once more. "I am Esdeath's servant, Daidara of the Three Beasts." the man, known as Daidara, introduced himself.
"Tch, and I'm the guy who's going to make a beast a mere puppy. What else do you have?" Ragna returned. Daidara didn't pay mind to the insult, but gave an eager grin, and then leaped forward Ragna.
"This guy is worth a lot of experience points!" the member of the Three Beasts gave a battle cry.
Just as Daidara leaped forward in battle, two other figures popped out as well. The first is a young man with a small build with blond hair and golden eyes. He had a somewhat feline look; his teeth were shown to be sharp, and he had slit pupils. He wore the same uniform as the other Three Beasts, with the exception of wearing shorts instead of pants. He also had horn-like accessories in his hair and a demon-like tail.
The second is a tall man with grey hair worn in a long ponytail, blue eyes and a mustache. He wore the standard black uniform like his counterparts.
The three figures leaped towards the two, covering each side. However, both Ragna and Tatsumi nodded at each other at the signal.
"Now!" both shouted, before they leapt forward.
It was to the Three Beasts surprise when another figure popped out of nowhere and headed towards a caught off guard Nyau. The figure slammed his fist onto Nyau's body, sending him flying. Tatsumi followed after the smallest member of the group, going in for the offensive as Bulat delivered the first blow. It was then Bulat spun himself midair, and then delivered a kick to the elder man's side, sending him flying as well.
As for Daidara, Ragna leapt forward in front of the man and swung his blade towards the man, clanging his Blood Scythe against the axe-like teigu. The amount of force put on Daidara's weapons actually chipped a part of the weapon, and then sent him back flying to the wooden wall of the ship, forming a small crater upon impact.
Ragna didn't give any time for the man to recover, as he leapt forward into the air and positioned his blade.
"Belial Edge!" Ragna dove towards the man with his blade ready to stab. Daidara barely had enough time to recover as he raised his blades to shield himself from the attack. However, there was a mistake for both combatants.
The moment Ragna's Blood Scythe impacted with the axes, the force was strong enough to further in the impact, actually driving both Ragna and Daidara into the ship and its lower levels. It also lead to chipping the teigu due to the impact that Ragna gave.
"Well shit!" Ragna cursed, seeing that his superhuman strength ended up bring him and his opponent to the lower levels due to the fact that the ship's wooden frames are practically like cardboard to him.
The two then fell into the deep interior of the ship, leaving the battle between the other Night Raid members and the other two Beasts.
(Interior of the Ship)
The two fell down to the lower levels of the ship after crashing through multiple floors. Both groaned in different ways. Daidara groaned upon feeling such an impact, while Ragna groaned in annoyance of being in this situation.
"God damn it. The time when my own strength works against me." Ragna muttered to himself, picking himself off of the floor and shaking off the debris. Meanwhile, Daidara staggered up while looking at Ragna incredulously.
"That strength...! How are you able to do that? Is is some kind of teigu?" Daidara asked with an astonished tone.
"Tch. I don't need to explain myself to you." Ragna said, raising his blade once more. Daidara merely snorted, but raised his axes once more.
"Ah, seems the field has changed. No matter. No matter what, I'm more than happy to get my fighting experience points!" Daidara cried out, running towards Ragna with his axes in hand.
"Stop making it sound like a damn game, you son of a bitch!" Ragna exclaimed as he charged towards Daidara.
The two soon met in the middle, and clashed their weapons against each other. However, Ragna simply just pushed forward with his strength while Daidara was struggling in trying to keep up with Ragna's strength. Ragna soon pushed with a lot of force, making Daidara's feet skid against the floor while pushing him towards the wall, leading to another small crater to form on it.
Daidara grunted in pain, while Ragna just kept overpowering him with his sheer strength.
However, as he kept pushing forward, Ragna's eye soon saw a small crack appear on the axes. His eyes widened, realizing on what he is doing.
'Shit!' Ragna mentally cursed to himself, before he lessened the pressure on the weapons. 'God damn it! At this rate, my own strength is going to break those teigus! And we need weapons like those for the Revolutionary Army!' Ragna cursed to himself, seeing how his strength is already leading to problems.
He cannot use his full physical strength on the important teigus as well. The Three Beasts currently had them. If he were to go all out with his physical strength, he knows he will break a teigu. Daidara's teigu is hard considering they were large weapons, meaning that more defensive maneuvers if necessary. And with defending, means Ragna has to hold back from destroying the damn things.
On the other hand, the old man didn't have a piece of teigu on him, though Ragna did slightly note that there was a flash of a ring in his eyes. Then there was that boy with the flute in his hand, which no doubt was the source of the music he heard. With Tatsumi keeping the music user occupied, Ragna could only hope that Tatsumi can pull through.
So Ragna drew the short end of the stick, facing a man with large weapons that can be broken upon impact from his full strength strikes.
Such a shitty luck he has.
And that wasn't the worst of it.
Ragna noticed that they are on the lower levels of the ship, where water was nearby enough to enter if given the opportunity. Ragna then realized the risks of being here.
'Shit! I have enough problems as it is! Not only did my strength lead me to this place, but going all out is out of the question! Passengers are aboard and I can't risk innocent lives aboard this ship!' Ragna thought while scowling. He also can't use the Azure Grimoire fully on this boat. If he did, the lower levels of this ship will no doubt suffer heavy damage to his attacks.
'For once, I actually have a problem with my strength.' Ragna thought annoyed, before he noticed Daidara raising his leg to kick him off. He jumped back through instinct, jumping back before it could hit. As he did, Ragna gave an annoyed "tch" to himself. Daidara staggered up, before giving a hardened look at Ragna.
"I see...seems like I have to act seriously here. You are an opponent that I cannot gleefully kill. Fine. That'll just make this battle even more memorable." Daidara said, this time preparing to throw his axes. Ragna narrowed his eyes, raising his blade once more.
'So...he's going to throw those axes, and those axes will come after me until it hits. It won't be a problem for me to block them or bat them away with my sword, but...' Ragna thought to himself, trying to figure out the situation here, before he realized something. '...Right. There is only one attack that is appropriate to end this son of a bitch. Something I can hold back on.'
Seeing how this will work, Ragna sheathed his sword behind him, and raised his fist. Daidara blinked, confused on what Ragna is doing.
'What is he planning...?' Daidara thought to himself, before he decided to focus on the battle. He raised his arm, and then threw the axe towards Ragna, making the blade spin in a saw like manner.
'Now!' Ragna thought, before he charged toward a straight line towards Daidara himself, with the axe coming in the path. Ragna then pulled back his right arm, and then channeled energy into it. Both spinning axe and Ragna closed in on each other, and Ragna saw the perfect timing for it.
"Hell's..." Ragna right arm soon erupted with dark energy, large enough to cover his entire arm. Ragna launched his fist forward, impacting with the incoming axe.
It soon resulted in having the axe being strongly deflected off of the energy coated fist, shocking the opponent in the room.
"Wha-!?" Daidara shouted in shock, seeing his weapon deflected so easily upon contact. His shock, however, led Ragna to get to a close enough distance between them. Just when he noticed, it was too late.
"...Fang!" Ragna soon launched his other arm forward, uppercutting his fist right into Daidara's gut, making the member of the Three Beasts vomit blood and spit upon impact.
But the attack wasn't done.
As soon as the fist impacted with its target, a large burst of energy exploded.
(Ship's Deck)
Things were not looking good for the two members of Night Raid, while their two opponents didn't look so good themselves. But in their current situation, it's bad to say that the opponents have a higher chance of winning.
Tatsumi, in his case, has done everything he could to support Bulat by holding of Nyau. Unfortunately, the smallest member of the Three Beast held a lot of strength despite being injured Also add in the fact that Tatsumi's strength is sapped away due to Scream. Thus, his fight with Nyau comes to a short end, leaving Tatsumi defeated on the floor.
Bulat, on the other hand, is facing a grave situation as well. He has reunited with an old friend and comrade of his, and discovered that Liver is a member of the Three Beast. But despite being so, the pompadour haired member of Night Raid still heads into battle with determination and no hesitation, readying himself to kill his former comrade. The two fought, with Bulat using his Incursio's strength and his own skills as a spear user, and Liver using Black Marlin to its absolute potential, manipulating the water around him.
The two had an even match, but Liver had a dirty tactic that involved damaging the ship itself. But Bulat was able to counter these moves, but wasn't able to defend himself when Liver used his strongest attacks he could offer from his Black Marlin. Even so, Bulat didn't throw in the towel so soon as he found an opening on Liver, but was taken away as Nyau managed to intervene.
Thus, leading to this situation.
"Even inside the armor, he was that injured. Seems your teigu was released due to the damage you sustained. Looks to be the end..." Liver commented calmly. Bulat simply give a small smirk towards his former commander.
"Stop acting tough. You're bleeding from your ears, you know?" Bulat pointed out, causing the elder man to feel his ear bleeding. The man looked shocked upon this, but soon focused on the situation.
"Firing off all those high energy attacks in succession like that, of course your body would get worn out. You aren't in any condition to use your teigu either." Bulat pointed out.
"So you know...oh well. I wanted to try easing out there slowly, but...I'll just ask..." Liver started with a curious tone. "Bulat, would you think about joining Esdeath's army? If it's you, you could even rise to the rank of second in command." Liver offered.
"I have no interest in serving the Empire once again." Bulat immediately declined with a calm look on his face. However, Liver simply shook his head.
"Not the Empire. Think about becoming Esdeath's servant. As I did when she saved me..." Liver said, closing his eyes in thought. "Doing as you please, being feared by others. Yes..." Liver went on, as he then tightly clenched his fist to the point of bleeding. It was then the elder man gave a furious look as he gritted his teeth.
"Even those dirty bureaucrats always spreading their filthy politics. Consumed by their own power...!" Liver exclaimed with a furious tone. Bulat stayed quiet as he listened to his former commander's words.
"Come with me Bulat! Esdeath will surely make your crimes dissapear!" Liver offered once more.
Silence passed between the two, before Bulat simply lets out a quiet sigh as he brought out a small comb and started combing his hair back into its pompadour style.
"I refuse. Killing those politicians. That may be comfortable for you to do but, I've always been an ally of the people, right? Esdeath's army supports the Prime Minister. And I want nothing to do with that." Bulat said with a confident and resolute tone. Liver simply narrowed his eyes upon hearing that response.
"Ally of the people...nether thought I would hear an assassin spout such lofty words." Liver cooly responded. "I always did tell you to be a little more humble."
Silence passed throughout the deck of the boat, as all the combatants watched each other. The only sound that could be made is the sound of the waves and the breeze passing through them.
"If neither of us can use out teigu..." Bulat started.
"...then we'll have to settle this with our swords!" Liver finished, before he brought out a syringe out of his sleeve, and then inject himself with the contents. This caused Bulat to become alarmed by this.
"Forgive me for doping, but you are my opponent after all..." Liver said, as his body soon tensed with increased strength. This didn't deter Bulat in the slightest. Instead, he simply reached the sword form of his Incursio.
"Bro! This guys seems dangerous!" Tatsumi warned comrade. Bulat just grew focused as he went into his battle stance.
"Don't worry Tatsumi! I'm more than prepared to fight such an opponent!" Bulat said, as he tensed his body for battle.
"Let's-!" Bulat shouted.
*BOOM*
Before the two could move in and fight each other to the death, they were suddenly interrupted by a sudden explosion that came from the deck, interrupting the fight between the two. The source of the explosion happended between Bulat and Liver, making the warriors shield themselves from the flying debris. But they were more surprised on what they saw.
An explosion of black energy erupted from the hole, and a figure flew out of the explosion. All eyes looked at the figure within the explosion, and said figure fell to the floor with a loud thud. When they identified the figure, their eyes widened at what they saw.
Daidara lied on the floor, along with a gashing wound on his abdomen. It was quite grievous, as the wound appeared to be a large gaping hole. It was quite clean and clear, as you are able to see through his body with the hole alone. The man alone didn't even move a single inch. Instead, the body laid there quietly, with only blood seeping out of the wound and out of the mouth.
"That's...!" Tatsumi said with realization, before his eyes flashed with hope when he recognized who done this.
Everyone soon turned their attention towards the hole on the floor, and soon found an arm emerging from the hole.
"Alright...the hell did I miss?" a familiar voice said with an annoyed tone. Soon, everyone found a certain red coated rebel climbing out of the hole with an narrow look on his face. Tatsumi recognized his close comrade, and couldn't help but shout out his name.
"Ragna!" Tatsumi said with recognition.
"In the flesh." Ragna simply replied, patting the dust off of him, before he looked around to see the situation. As he did, he could only think of a simple sentence that summed up the situation.
'Well shit just hit the fan.' Ragna thought to himself, before his eyes fell onto a certain body laying on the floor. Ragna soon saw that his target wasn't getting up, and confirmed that Daidara is indeed dead.
'...So I managed to make a huge hole on the deck and blow the hole through the son of a bitch. And that's only half of the power...' Ragna thought to himself. 'It's a good thing I aimed the energy upwards. Otherwise, this ship will start sinking soon.' Ragna mentally commented, before his eyes set on Liver and Bulat. He assumed that an intense battle occurred between the two and both warriors are out of energy to maintain their teigu.
Seeing the situation before him, Ragna simply turned to Bulat.
"Hey, Bulat. You hanging in there?" Ragna asked his comrade. Bulat just stared at Ragna with surprise on his eyes, before he fell into a chuckle.
"More or less. I would ask the same, but you seem pretty fine." Bulat pointed out with a small but tired smile. Ragna simply snorted as he grabbed onto the hilt of Blood Scythe.
"The jackass had it coming." Ragna simply responded, before he narrowed his eyes, and then turned to Liver.
"So, seems like you're next. I'll take a crack at ya." Ragna said, raising his sword, prepping himself for battle.
"Wait, Ragna!" Bulat shouted out to Ragna, making the white haired man listen to his comrade's words.
"What?" Ragna asked.
"This is my fight with my former commander. I understand that we have to kill them, but this is something we should settle between the two of us." Bulat told him. Ragna stayed silent for a moment, before he narrowed his eyes at that.
"Yeah, I'm going to have to say no on that." Ragna answered, making Bulat's eyes widened upon the answer. Before he could protest, Ragna continued. "Let me point out a few things. First, you look like shit, so fighting this guy practically screams risks. Second, our objective is to kill these guys, remember? I doesn't really matter who kills who. And third and last..." Ragna continued.
*WHISTLE* *WOOON*
The sound of music rung through the air, making Bulat turn to the source of the music with an alarmed look on his face. He saw Nyau playing his Scream with a certain song that spelled out danger. Tatsumi became alarmed as well, as he managed to find strength to stand up once more.
"...The kid is going to need your help on this one." Ragna pointed out. Bulat soon grew silent for a short amount of time, before he nodded in understanding.
"...Alright. I'll do as you say. But Ragna..." Bulat soon gave his signature smile towards him. "You come back alive, you hear?" Bulat told him. Ragna simply lets out a small smirk in return.
"That was the plan from the beginning of this mission." Ragna replied, before he turned to face his opponent. Liver narrowed his eyes as he raised his blade.
"This is a fight between me and Bulat. If you won't move out of the way, then I'll resort to taking you out as fast as I can." Liver told him. Ragna just prepped his body once more, readying himself for the battle.
"Oh don't worry. This fight will be finished quite quickly, once I'm done with you." Ragna retorted. "Go Bulat. Tatsumi needs you." Ragna told his Night Raid comrade. Bulat nodded at him, and soon headed to where Tatsumi is, leaving the battle between the two.
Not giving another chance to pass by, Liver immediately sprang forward and prepped his sword to attack. Ragna followed in suit as well, raising his sword to strike as well. The distance closed in between the two, but Ragna didn't want this battle to last any longer than necessary. So he decided the only appropriate move to finish this.
"Blood Scythe." Ragna simply shifted his sword in scythe mode, producing an energy blade at the end. Before Liver could comprehend on the weapon he is about to clash with, he was soon met with something he'd never expect.
*SLASH*
In one single swipe, the energy blade of Blood Scythe sliced through the metal sword that Liver had like it was butter, and slashed through Liver's body with total ease, leading to Liver being bisected upon the slice.
"Wha...?" Liver could only utter in shock when he found himself just defeated in a blink of an eye. Time slowly passed for him, as his eyes moved towards Ragna looking at him with a neutral expression, as if treating him as nothing more than an object that he has to get rid of. But even so, Liver refused to go down without a fight.
So he resorted on his trump card.
"Blades of Blood!" Liver poured all of his strength into his blood, which is water as well, and projected the red liquid as deadly bullets, ready to damage Ragna. Liver thought he succeeded in bringing down Ragna with him, but reality soon played its ugly head on him when the fact plays that Ragna is not your average fighter.
"Barrier." a simple word came out of Ragna's mouth, creating a circular shield that covered his entire body. The blood soon impacted with the energy shield, but did little to no damage whatsoever, making the blood simply splash and bounce off of the shield.
'In the end...it amounted to nothing...!?' Liver thought to himself in shock, before he felt himself impact with the floor. He quietly lied in a pool of his own blood in silence, not being able to utter out a single word. On the other hand, Ragna simply looked at his supposed opponent with a narrow look.
"Nice try gramps. I've dealt with enough old farts to know that you have tricks up your sleeve." Ragna simply said to his defeated opponent, before he turned to the situation for both Bulat and Tatsumi, and his eye could only widened on what was about to happen.
(Few moments earlier)
The situation didn't look so good for the two. When Bulat reached Tatsumi and allowed himself to help his comrade, it was too late to stop from what was happening.
The song that Nyau played is the trump card of Scream. The trump card, known as Call of the Fierce God, led the user to increase his physical strength immensely. No longer a small looking boy, but a bulky man with enough muscles to rival Bulat's physique. Nyau soon stood as a more dangerous threat to the duo.
"Fuuu..." Nyau lets out a refreshed breath. "It's been quite a while since I changed into this form." Nyau said with a dangerous look on his face.
Tatsumi and Bulat looked even more alarmed by this development. Even with their combined strengths, there is no way that they could last a second against him, not with their state. Bulat has exhausted all of his strength, and Tatsumi was handicapped from the start.
Seeing the situation before them, Bulat could only give out a cold sweat. 'This is bad...while Ragna is holding out Liver, Nyau is already prepared to come at us. Tatsumi isn't in good condition, and I don't have the strength to use Incursio...unless...' Bulat thought in realization, and looked at Tatsumi beside him. Realizing the situation they're in, he decided to go with the low odds.
"Tatsumi..." Bulat said, attracting Tatsumi's attention. He then held out a certain sword towards Tatsumi, making the young man look at him in shock. "I'm entrusting this to you..."
"This is...!" Tatsumi said in shock. However, Nyau saw what they were about to do.
"Normally, I would just laugh at your attempt to use Incursio. But given the situation and that white haired man, it's best that I take care of you quickly!" Nyau shouted as he headed towards the duo. When they saw him approaching, the duo knew they needed to act now.
"Don't get caught up in your opponent's pace! Think of your training and the experiences you went through. If you use those, you're more than qualified, Tatsumi!" Bulat shouted, making Tatsumi looked at the sword before him in his hands.
Tatsumi's mind soon begun to have an instant flashback to Ragna standing before him with a focused look and his will to never give up. Tatsumi wanted to be as strong like Ragna, both in mind and body. With that thought alone in his head, Tatsumi's body immediately acted.
'I'll become strong, just like him...!' Tatsumi thought with a focused look, prepping the teigu in his hands.
"LET YOUR SOUL RAGE AND ROAR, TATSUMI!" Bulat shouted with energy.
With nothing else to lose and the will to fight, Tatsumi went forth.
"HAAAAAAAAAAH! Tatsumi roared as he slammed the sword into the ground. "INCURSIOOOOOOOOOO!" Tatsumi called out the name of the teigu in his hand, putting all of his willpower and strength to summon forth its powers.
The moment he tried to summon the power, an explosion happened underneath and behind Tatsumi, and a figure rose out of the explosion. The figure looked identical to the armor Bulat wears when he uses Incursio, but there was one major difference. The armor's head soon opened up to reveal a monstrous face with sharp looking teeth and bright red eyes.
The moment the figure came out is when everyone stopped in their tracks to see the sight before them.
'The armor is changing itself to suit Tatsumi's movements!' Bulat thought in shock.
"What the hell is with that armor...!? Don't tell me...the teigu's core is still alive!?" Nyau exclaimed in shock, seeing the sight before him.
There is more to the Incursio than it lets on. This teigu was forged from the Tyrant, an extremely powerful and dangerous Danger Beast with an incredible life force. The dragon wanders the country in search of prey, and is able blend its body into the environment, and even adapt to any environment, like a dessert of tundra. Ever after being subjugated and made into a teigu, and the dragon's flesh it still alive. It will continue to evolve to defeat its enemies.
That is the true power of Incursio.
The armor soon merged with Tatsumi, and the cloud soon cleared to reveal a new figure standing amongst them. No longer seeing a brunette with a fatigued look, but a warrior standing there with power and strength.
"Esdeath's Three Beast has used Night Raid's name over and over again to commit fake assassinations! It's time to receive your reward!" Tatsumi exclaimed with a resolute tone. Nyau, for the first time in battle against Tatsumi, became intimidated by the power that Tatsumi now shows.
"You're suddenly full of yourself, aren't you...!?" Nyau bitterly retorted.
Tatsumi went silent for a short moment, before he decided to speak up.
"I understand. This armor forcefully increases my strength..." Tatsumi said with understanding.
Nyau's body tensed.
"So I know that I will defeat you!" Tatsumi strongly declared as he pointed towards Nyau.
The trigger was pulled, and Nyau soon charged towards Tatsumi.
"TRY IT IF YOU CAN!" Nyau gave out a battle cry as he cocked his fist for a punch. Tatsumi roared out a battle cry as well, charging in with his fist ready to strike.
*POW*
The two fist soon met, resulting in a powerful shockwave of air to push away the water surrounding them. But it didn't stop there. When the two fists collided, one was eventually going to overpower the other.
"HAH!" Tatsumi pushed forward with more force, this time sending the last member of the Three Beasts flying, immediately sending Nyau towards the tower of the boat with cannon-like speed.
*BAM*
Nyau soon impacted with the tower of the boat, resulting in a huge crater upon impact. A large crate was formed, and multiple cracks stretched outward from the impact. The opponent known as Nyau was stuck on the wall, losing his life upon the single punch. His body shrunk and soon reverted back into his original form The fresh corpse slid down, and landed on the floor with a thud.
Both Ragna and Bulat looked at Tatsumi with surprise etched on their faces, seeing the feat that he has pulled.
"Holy shit..." Ragna quietly said with amazement.
"Hahaha...Amazing!" Bulat said in awe, seeing the strength Tatsumi pulled. "If he has that much power, he'll surpass me in no time..." Bulat commented. Ragna then gave a small smirk upon hearing this.
"Yeah...kid's gonna go far." Ragna agreed.
The armor soon faded away from Tatsumi, and the young man turned to see both Ragna and Bulat looking at him with smiles on their faces. Tatsumi gave a tired smile as he attempted to walk towards them. As he closed the gap between them, Tatsumi stumbled a bit due to the energy he exhausted. But two hands reached out to him and kept him on his feet.
"You were great Tatsumi. You made your bro very proud of you." Bulat said with a thumbs up and signature smile.
"...You did good kid. You did good." Ragna told him as he patted him on the shoulder.
Tatsumi could only smile in accomplishment, proud on what he has done.
He's finally catching up with everyone. And that's all he ever wanted.
(Omake: SCIENCE!)
"Tch, that's all you got? This isn't even considered science. More of a b-rated horror human modification things you see in the horror movies..." Kokonoe said with a bored tone as she sat on top of rubble while licking her silvervine candy.
The battle...no, scratch that. It was more of a one-sided slaughter if anything.
She heard rumors of a scientist being able to perform impressive feats on the human body, but the results were rather grotesque. She didn't really care about the scientists, as she was busy with her own thing. However, due to the fact that Ragna was somehow involved, she decided to investigate the situation herself.
And here she was, meeting face to face with the man. And out of all choices she had to make, she kept telling herself that she would rather be with Amane for the whole day than rather be with the man named Dr. Stylish. Seriously, who has a last name of Stylish? Or it's just a style that he just gave himself. It didn't really matter that point, considering that the name was weird to begin with.
But it was even more weirder when his minions/experiments were so weirdly dressed and modified. Most of his minions, who were male by the way, wore feminine clothing of stockings and bras. She was seriously disturbed by this man's taste, and wondered if he was into homosexual S&M with his subjects. And she was truly disgusted to see how these minions had bombs implanted into them, and would die by the choice of the man who experimented on them.
Then there were his other minions who were a cut above the rest. Like a man with a seriously long nose made to sniff (as if that wasn't obvious enough), and then there was this girl who had had huge ears that, you guessed it, can hear very clearly. Then there was some guy who was able to summon blades through his body, as well as having gun if he lost his limbs. She kept wonder where they kept those thing and the important body organs, but she shouldn't really wonder too much, considering she has Tager.
Then chaos ensued when the entire team fought against one single woman. Well, chaos for the team.
Things went to hell when Kokonoe simply used her gravitation devices to pull in the common henchman, and then proceeded to burn the ever living crap out of them by summoning a giant fireball...through science.
Then the guy's upper minions attempted to attack her, well, more specifically, the guy with blades and guns coming out of him. She wasn't really impressed by by the sort of thing, as she seen better throughout her work and experience. She decided that she hasn't used it in a while, and said "ah to to hell with it".
She proceeded to summon Golden Tager through her portal, and obliterated his sorry ass with a giant laser.
And that only left Dr. Stylish himself, along with his other minions.
Seeing that this battle wasn't going in his favor, Dr. Stylish decided to use his trump card and transform into some grotesque oversized monster by consuming his allies. Seeing this, she did the only thing she can do in a situation like this.
Summon giant meteor on his ugly ass.
Simple as that.
The giant space rock fell towards the monster and destroyed every single trace of his being, as well as the surrounding area. Now no one was left, except a barren wasteland
Overkill it may seem, but she just felt like using it. Maybe it's because she never has much of a chance to use it at all.
"I do like the gloves though. They're certainly useful in speeding up the process of my research..." Kokonoe muttered to herself thoughtfully as she held the gloves that this Dr. Stylish guy had.
She then pondered whether or not to upgrade Tager with these gloves...
And Done!
It's finally over! You guys wanted to see what the outcome of the fight is, and you got it! Bulat is alive mother fu**ers! I hope you're happy, because I'm happy!
(Ragna barely affect by the music)
Ragna has that most notable traits in all of BlazBlue: the will to never give up. No matter what, Ragna will not give up, no matter what. Scream can't do jack shit to him, considering that Ragna has been though a lot. Literally, his will power alone can resist such things.
And even if he was affected by the music, it won't do jack sh** to him anyway. Ragna has a LOT of stamina. I mean, have you seen the story modes, where Ragna fought Jin, Hakumen, and then Nu in one night? Or the time he fought Jin, Terumi (Azure Grimoire activiated), and then Mu-12?
Point is, Ragna has a lot of stamina to keep going on.
(The Fight)
I wanted to be one of the few authors to show that just because you have a lot of power in your hands, it doesn't mean it is going to be easy. This applies to Ragna.
Ragna considers the teigus to be important for the Revolutionary Army, because even he believes that facing the situation by himself and his strength alone is a stupid idea. He learned that having comrades and people supporting you helps you in the long run during his time against the Imperator. He is using that experience for the best of himself and the others.
Let's face it. If Ragna uses his full strength (without activating the full power of the Azure Grimoire), then he'll no doubt destroy many teigus that he will come across.
There is also the fact that he can't use that much Azure Grimoire attacks, or else he'll damage the boat he is on. He cannot risk sinking the boat with his powers.
So despite Ragna being stronger than anyone else, he still has problems to face. I hope you realize he isn't a Gary Stu in fighting.
(Ragna breaking the floorboards)
There may be a few that are may be annoyed upon the fact that I practically wrote Ragna into breaking the floorboards impact with Daidara, but here are a couple facts:
1) Daidara managed to break the floorboards with a swing of his axe. Ragna is physically stronger than him, so he can have a more devastating effect.
2) I learned that Ragna can obliterate a single street with a swing of his sword from BlazBlue Alter Memory. And thanks to someone pointing out that the Alter Memory is a downplay of the actual game, I can assume that Ragna can do much more damage. And considering that this is end-game Ragna, he can easily break through a wooden floor if he wanted to, not even requiring half of his strength.
(Ragna curbstomps Liver)
Did you guys honestly expect an epic fight between Ragna and Liver?
I saw Bulat break through Liver's sword with his physical strength alone. Ragna easily surpasses Bulat in that type of strength. The moment Liver believed that he can endure a strike from Ragna's strikes is the moment he is dead.
And that doesn't help that Ragna's Blood Scythe form can easily cut through a lot of material. For example, the opening of BlazBlue Chonophantasma Extend opening showed a scene where Ragna can easily slice through a steel pillar with ease. So yeah. Blood Scythe can cut through a lot of things.
Plus, Ragna had the barrier, where he can endure a laser blast from Takemikazuchi itself. Sharp blood alone isn't going to cut it.
Compared to previous fights like Zank and Seryu, Liver's powers are more straightforward. Zank used Saya against him, while Koro was able to stun Ragna with his roar. Liver, on the other hand, just uses water and blood to attack. That is about it. Nothing to attack Ragna's senses. None. Nothing harmed Ragna's five senses, so he is fine.
(The Question Everyone Will Ask)
Now comes the question all of you readers have. Will Tatsumi have the Incursio? The question...will be answered next chapter. I can't give out spoilers to you guys. That'll just ruin the fun of the story. :P
Trivia: Did you know that Jin Kisaragi's Japanese voice actor, Tetsuya Kakihara, also voices Natsu Dragneel from Fairy Tail? Jin is ice, while Natsu is fire. And the two have opposite personalities. There's a lot of irony in that one.
