Happy 2017 everyone, and I'm back.

First of all, very sorry I haven't been updating this story for about eleven months, I had been too busy with so many stuff and had plans for new things so I couldn't find the strength to continue this story until now. Luckily things will hopefully change this year as I will attempt to make sure this story continues going.

Second, I will be going to do a lot of stories on different websites but I can still find time to work on this story, I'm not gonna lose hope yet.

For now, let's hope that this year, things will be way better, and I hope you enjoy the chapter that's long overdue.

Chapter 9: Enter new combatant

"So...what do you guys want me to do?" Cloud was highly confused as to what the four characters were planning especially since they kept those smirks on their faces the entire time.

"We want you to act as a night guard tonight for Freddy Fazbear's pizzeria for a total of six hours and then you'll get payed." Samus explained to him, "It's like an easy job for you."

"Isn't that under investigation?"

"Yeah well that's just the workers being paranoid about it." The newcomer could only question their motives, he heard that they were somewhat a little crazy, but didn't think that they'd be offered jobs.

Marth leaned closer to Cloud, "So will you accept the job?"

He stood up and backed up. "Okay, I'm sorry it's just that I was being a bit cautious considering I heard a lot about you guys."

Samus only said, "Pft, Look, I know you're just here, but those things you've heard about us are not exactly true."

"Even the one where it said your house burned down?"

"That one was half true, it was Snake's fault." The Princess replied, walking to the closet and placing a hat over her head. "So, we'll go to the restaurant and do our usual routine, then after we finish the night, everything will go back to the way it was."

The spiky blonde was still concerned to their behavior, they were usually a bit crazy, but being somewhat schemeful was not what he expected. "Alright then, what do I get to do until the night shift?"

"Just be a customer and make sure that the kids don't get freaked out by the animatronics too much." Samus said, "And also make sure to bring a grenade just in case."

"Samus, I think you're a bit too paranoid about the restaurant." Toon Link said to her with a dignified look, he only got a menacing look from her as a response.

Cloud had noticed that Toon Link looked distinctively familiar for some reason. This wasn't caught by any of the smashers as they were too busy preparing for their final day.

"And this is the trio of evil robots who will kill you at night." Samus pointed at the three main stars on stage to Cloud, "If you feel like you want to chop off their heads and electrocute them, then you can do so once we get our paycheck."

"I get the strange feeling that you're just making this up." He says with a disconcerted look.

"I'm not making this crap up, we almost died this week and we also had nightmares about murderers, I don't want to deal with that again!"

Cloud was a little bit displeased as Samus' behavior was evidenced as mean-spirited, but her feelings could change since this was not their natural habitat, "Sorry, I didn't mean to make you snap."

"It's okay, I tend to do that a lot…" She turned away and sighed, "Anyways, once we're done with this crap, we're gonna show you to the rest of the Smash family...you'll learn to like or hate them, probably both."

"I think I might." The bounty hunter sat down on a chair and took a piece of pizza, slowly munching down on it to calm herself.

Cloud just looked back at the animatronics, they didn't seem all that deadly, but if what Samus said was true then a dark secret was hidden, a very well hidden one in fact. "So I'm just doing the night shift for one night?"

"Of course, it's not like I need to remind you all the time."

"Just making sure, I've dealt with a man named Sephiroth and a lot of Behemoths, so I think this'll be a piece of cake."

"I doubt it...also what's a Behemoth?" It looked like there was still a lot of things that needed to be explained.

"I'll tell you later."

At Toon Link and Marth, they were patrolling the Backstage room to make sure no one bothered to investigate, even though it was locked.

"I don't think Cloud is gonna survive the night, he's too inexperienced for something like this." The cartoon hero of time said.

"He has a large sword, so I have a distinct feeling that he'll be successful." Replied the handsome prince.

"Just because he has a large sword, doesn't mean he's much of an expert on acting as a night guard. I'm sure he did way better stuff than that."

"I have a sword, I did all of those horrible things a few nights ago and there is proof that he can survive this." Crossing his arms, Marth looked at the silver door and gave off a glare, not wanting to enter inside.

"Sure, wait until you see him 'missing' on the news." He replied, but also mentioned, "By the way, I noticed that he was a little skeptical about me...I think he knows about me."

"I doubt it."

"Ness, for the last time you can't build this mansion all by yourself!" Lucas would be sitting on a bench in the middle of the park with Roy sitting next to him. Ness would be looking at the blueprints he made of what the new Smash mansion would look like. "Besides we don't have any of the resources, the money, or the knowledge of building an actual house."

"I'm getting sick of not staying in an actual house and having to buy food off of the supermarket, it's time we do something about this." He proudly states and walk to his friend with blueprints in hand.

"Let's just wait for the other guys to get a million dollars, it's not gonna be that difficult."

"It's been five days, and considering our history, it's definitely gonna take too long." Roy added to Ness' argument and take out a newspaper he stole. "So I say we start stealing resources in order to build walls, sinks, tiles, etc."

"And where are we gonna find that exactly?" Lucas asked despite his non cooperation in this idea.

"Well...everywhere, Duh." With that said, the knight starts running off to one of the buildings in town, dropping the newspaper to the floor. Ness quickly follow him with his friend left behind.

With a dissatisfied sigh, he picks up the newspaper to toss in the trash but something caught his eye. One article mentioned something about Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria being under investigation, and a picture of the three animatronics would be shown next to it. While this seemed quite normal, there was a help wanted ad and the words mentioned Freddy Fazbear's Pizza.

The picture had Freddy and he looked different that on the other article, as the cheeks were missing and the hat was a lot shorter. Lucas wondered why anyone would just have two articles relating to an seemingly old store and a new one with the same mascot, and it couldn't be stealing because it was made by the same company.

The kid wraps the newspaper up and keep it with him as he runs to find Roy and Ness before they could do anything stupid.

- Night 5 -

Cloud was sitting right in the office, holding the monitor on one hand and a mug of coffee. He had already been told about what to do in the office and how to fend off the robots thanks to the list Samus had prepared for him, with the addition of swear words. It was said that they're gonna get more aggressive during the night so Cloud would have to be quick if he wanted to survive.

As before, the ring tone from the mystery phone had echoed in the office and it ended as the guy behind it spoke. ''Hello, hello? Hey, good job, night 5!"

"Um, hey, um, keep a close eye on things tonight, ok? Um, from what I understand, the building is on lockdown, uh, no one is allowed in or out, y'know, especially concerning any...previous employees."

Though Cloud had no exact idea what the man was saying, he just listened as he looks at the monitor for the animatronics that remained at their positions. "Um, when we get it all sorted out, we may move you to the day shift, a position just became...available. Uh, we don't have a replacement for your shift yet, but we're working on it."

'If Samus were here.' He thought to himself, 'She'd be happy to hear that.'

Uh, we're going to try to contact the original restaurant owner. Uh, I think the name of the place was..."Fredbear's Family Diner" or something like that. It's been closed for years though, I doubt we'll be able to track anybody down."

Well, just get through one more night! Uh, hang in there! Goodnight!''

"Goodnight." Cloud said back to the voice that hung up. Now it seemed like things were silent, when it really was just him and the Fazbear machines.

He first looked at the Prize Corner to wind up the music box and keep the Puppet in its box, then checked the show stage to see the three main stars of the pizzeria. Nothing out of the ordinary for the moment it would seem, then taking a good look at the Game area where Balloon Boy was and it was normal there as well.

All four Party Rooms and vents were empty as well as the main hall. The Parts and Service Room were occupied with the Withered animatronics, but that wasn't much of a problem since that was where they were supposed to be. Next was Kid's Cove and with Mangle staying in his/her position, it seemed clear.

Cloud placed the monitor on the desk and stood up, wanting to clear his head a little. He approached the poster of Freddy and poked his nose just to hear the adorable sound. He sighs before turning to the desk but then saw something.

There was an animatronic sitting on the chair in the form of Freddy but with yellow skin and no left ear. It just sat there with no movement and no sound, Cloud wondered how the animatronic managed to get here so quickly without being detected by the cameras or how it was even in this building since no one mentioned it before.

The kid takes out a stick and pokes the arm lightly, expecting a reaction but there was none. Another step closer and Cloud takes the monitor to check up on the Prize Counter, winding the music box up to its limit. He placed it down and looked at the yellow robot as it just kept sitting there like a statue.

Since pushing it off was probably a bad idea and could damage it, Cloud takes the Freddy Mask and moved away from the desk to rest next to the Vent and check up on the Animatronics. The stage looked normal along with the other areas of the place so it was all good, although that still didn't help with the case of the yellow Freddy.

Cloud lowered the monitor and noticed the animatronic looking straight at him, unlike the others, there were no pupils for his black eyes. It just started at him with its jaw open. He would move his hand to the lower jaw and move it so that it can be closed, but it stayed open.

Cloud starts to quickly move the chair to the opposite direction so it wouldn't creep him out and focused on the monitor, following the same routine as before. Everyone was still in their places but that was enough to make him a bit suspicious. Samus did say they would come after him but all they did was nothing, almost like if they thought people were here.

"What kind of job did I just take?" He already regretted being here, even with that yellow bear that stole his chair. Cloud looks again and sees that the chair was on the floor, but no sign of the mystery animatronic. He hesitates to place the chair back to the way it was and then looked at the Left Vent in case bear went there, but nothing.

A bumping noise was announced from the right Vent and it kept going. Cloud reaches there and shined the flashlight, although there was nothing there but the noise. checking the cameras wouldn't work either so he had to check by himself. The adventurer crawled through the almost tight Vent, looking around in case the bear was near or what the source of the sound was. The further he went, the more he could see the area of the second Party Room.

He crawled out and stood on his feet quickly as he scanned the area. Apparently there was no one there, nor was the source of the mysterious noise, it seemed like it was wanting to mess with his head.

As cloud used the monitor again to wind the music box, there was a new noise coming from the office. A loud groan that kept its volume upwards to an extent where it got annoying, cloud would crawl down to reach his original spot again and then rolled onto his feet as he shined the flashlight at the chair where he expected the bear to be. It wasn't there.

"What is going on here?" He muttered to himself while flashing the light at the hallway, noting that nothing was there at this moment. If this night was anything like the nights the other smashers had encountered, then Cloud would've been less nervous than before.

He does the usual, winding the music box and checking the cameras but things were suddenly different. The Kid's Cove was being obscured by the face of Balloon Boy which made him quickly change the camera to something else. The broken animatronics in Parts and Service were all standing up and staring at the camera, seemingly mad.

The Stage had the three toy animatronics staring as well, though they didn't seem to do anything else but that. Cloud quickly reaches for the poster to honk the nose, but it wasn't there anymore.

He kept a grip on the monitor as he reached for the Freddy Head and placed it on him, preparing himself in case the animatronics decided to go kill him right now. The head however felt heavier and there was a twisted wire on the right eye, definitely not what the Freddy head included.

He pulls it off and turns it to see that instead, it was the face of the yellow Freddy and as he examined it, two white pupils appeared. He dropped the mask in fright and it suddenly cracked in half. Static noise suddenly came to his ears and Cloud turns around to see the head of an endoskeleton upside down, hanging from several wires at the roof.

He quickly smashed the monitor against the head and gain critical damage as the eyes cracked a little and the noise died down. He would look back at the monitor, and quickly repeated the process as before, music box, animatronic checks, etc. Mangle was now different as his/her legs could be noticeable from the top of the room, almost as if the robot was holding onto a rope.

Cloud placed the monitor on the desk and sat on the floor, growing tired of being threatened by animatronics and the Yellow Freddy. Whatever was going on can't be explained, and this had been going on for way too long.

"Why couldn't I have brought a watch here?" He sighed and looked at the damaged endoskeleton as it just stared right at him like the others before, and the cracked mask on the ground was not helping matters as one side was looking at him.

A loud groan would come from him and he takes the monitor to check the music box, winding it back up before it would be too late. Then he checked the other sections of the restaurant, unfortunately there was no one.

No one was at the stage, Parts and Service, Kid's Cove, or even the Game Area. They were all gone.

"Crap…" he muttered and then flashed the light at the hallway and vents, but no one was there either, almost as if they were playing a prank on him. Cloud scurried to the desk and winded up the music box again but suddenly the screen began to glitch out and change to the face of the Yellow Freddy and it was screaming very loud.

He dropped the device and it shut off upon impact, but was still intact. The warrior sighed of relief but came to the conclusion that A.) he can't wind the music box and B.) the others will be after him. And to make things worse, the lights shut off like a candle.

With everything cloaked in darkness, he couldn't see anything and hit the desk in an attempt to escape. Then came laughter. He looked around quickly and noticed two eyes glowing in the dark, Balloon Boy's eyes. He frowned upon seeing him until two more eyes were around him, and then two more until he was completely surrounded by eyes, with only two of them being red.

Cloud reached for the monitor on the floor but found nothing thanks to the darkness, and held his ground as the eyes got closer and closer to him until they were the only things he could see.

"I didn't deserve this." He muttered and braced himself for what could be his inevitable demise...

The lights began to activate again, shining down on the room and the hallway. The eyes had disappeared and the monitor and Freddy mask was back on the desk, even the poster was back in its position. Cloud was confused, and decided to look at the cameras to see if everyone was back to the way it was. All animatronics were back at their stations and have forgotten about their intentions to kill the night guard, but still that didn't help him feel better.

He then heard something coming from the halls and he picked up the mask in case it was a threat. All he saw was Marth running towards him with a worried look. "Are you alright!?" He asks loudly just as he reached him.

"Y-Yeah, I'm fine...definitely fine!" He lied quickly and tried to calm down.

"I don't believe you." The prince would start to drag Cloud away from the office. "You're gonna need a lot of coffee and sleep after today." He says to him, "By the way, Samus is gonna destroy the place once we get the paycheck so we won't be dealing with this anymore."

He sighed and watched the area as he was dragged away, noticing a yellow hand in the distance waving as if it was saying goodbye.

To Be continued.
