Disclaimer- I only own Athena

I didn't know how right I was because within second all hands left my body. I saw most of them lying on the ground they were dead all except the one I had spoken to last. Lestat held him up. "Did you want this one?"

Blood was dripping drown from his lips to his chin. I stood up and flashed my fiery gaze their way. Rage seeped out of every pore of my body as I looked up at Lestat and said, "Yes...He's mine!" I growled. I don't believe I had ever felt angrier in my entire life.

Lestat looked amused as he pushed the guy towards me. He fell on his knees before me and started begging. "Please don't hurt me, I'm so sorry. Just let me leave and I wont tell anybody...please." His desperate cries made me kick him in the face hard enough to hurt but not enough to knock him out. "Oh you want mercy? Sure I'll give you the same amount of mercy you'd have given me." I broke one of his legs, the snap and the cries that came after it made me sigh happily.

I gave him a good kick to the ribs like I had received, and broke one of his. I aggravated my own wounds in the process. "Just kill me and get it over with!" He cried. "Like you were going to when you finally caught me? You were going to rape me along with all those other men...give me one good reason that I should end it for you and I will."

I watched him cower before me before looking back up and saying, "Because you are a better person than me." I sighed heavily of course he would say the one thing that would work for him. "Your right I am, I don't usually enjoy hurting others nor would I not be merciful. So I will end the pain for you." I watched him put his head down accepting his fate. I stepped behind his kneeling form and wrapped my hands around his head. "Goodbye." I whispered and quickly broke his neck.

I looked up at Lestat and then saw the carnage all around me. There were still some live men laying about where I had knocked them out. I could feel the alcohol churn in my stomach and I raised a hand to my mouth. My knees felt weak and my body hurt. Before my leg gave out I felt arms raise me off the ground. I saw Lestat, his beautiful face looming above mine. My hand traced the side of his cheek, I saw something flicker through his eyes before I knew and saw no more. To tired to stay awake.

Lestat POV

I looked down upon the young woman in my arms. She looked the worse for wear, and after a fight like that I wouldn't blame her. I saw most of it and stepped in only when needed. I was quite impressed she had managed to take out thirteen attackers by herself, fourteen if you added the last one. Women these days usually couldn't even fight off one attacker, and she was intoxicated! I heard a groan and looked around. None of the men would live I decided not after being so dishonorable. I set her down next to the cemetery entrance and got to work.

I sucked the life out of each and every single one of them that still breathed. Then I dug a deep hole in the corner of the graveyard and threw the bodies in and buried them. I covered the fresh dirt with leaves and some grass. I saw a little container that was left out full of seeds. I threw them over and scattered some more dirt over that. Then I went back over to Athena. She was still sleeping. I picked her up and brought her back home.

I set her on her bed and looked at the dress she wore. It was nice before but now it had blood and dirt all over it. I went through her house and found a bucket and a rag in the kitchen, I also found a large bowl. I filled the bucket and the bowl with water and brought them back up to her room.

She was still out. I carefully took her dress off, her chemise looked fine so I left it be (AN: Just so everyone knows a chemise looks like a simple white linen night gown.) A little pouch fell out of her dress. I was amused to see that it was the one that I had given her the night before. She probably wanted to give it back. I place it on the stand next to her bed. I put the dress in the bucket. Then I went over to her washroom and grabbed something that smelled like lavender soap and poured a little bit of that in with the dress. I grabbed up a rag that I had found near the bucket and put a small amount of soap and water on that and went over to the bed.

I sat next to her and ran the rag over her hands. A couple of her knuckles had split and had bloody dirt in the open cuts. I cleaned each and then started up her arms. The was quite a bit of blood on them as well but I was pretty sure that it wasn't hers. After her arms were completely cleaned off I cleaned the rag off in the large bowl and went up to her neck. It was covered with a blue and silver scarf. I unwrapped the scarf and dropped it in the bucket with the dress. I cleaned her throat and saw bruises starting to bloom across her face. I carefully cleaned the the blood and dirt off her cheeks. My heart hurt a bit seeing her like this...I shook my head to clear those weird thoughts away.

Once she was all cleaned up I dumped the bowl outside and put it back where I had found it. I left the bucket be though because I wasn't really any good at laundry. I then pulled up a chair to sit by her to see when she would awaken.

About three hours later...

I heard her heart speed up a bit before she groaned. I saw her try to sit up and I gently pushed her back down. "You need to rest if you want to heal."

Athena's POV

Before I even opened my eyes I could feel the pain that spread across my body. I groaned and tried to sit up but cold hands pushed me back down. "You need to rest if you want to heal." I heard from beside me. I looked up at Lestat. He looked as nice as ever... "How is it that you can come out of a fight looking great whereas I come out looking like death warmed over?" He chuckled and said, "Well it helps when you can move faster than any of your opponents." I thought about that, "yeah I suppose that would help."

I looked down at myself and saw that I was only in my chemise and that all the blood and mud were off my arms and hands. "Thanks for taking care of me, and thanks for saving me...those men, they were going to..." I trailed off and turned my head away. The emotions finally coming back. I felt a hand at my chin tilt my face back towards Lestat. "I would never have let that happen."
