SilverAmarant: I am writing this roughly around 12:00. Yeah, I'm not even tired.
Gufuu: You're never tired.
Vaati: Can I do disclaimer?
SilverAmarant: Sure.
Vaati: SilverAmarant does not own Legend of Zelda or any of its characters. If she owned it, I'd be in every game.

A few months passed and Dark had recovered. This meant that Vaati could go back to school. Vaati was asleep and was rudely woken up by Gufuu pushing him. "Descendant, get up! You have to get to school." Vaati groaned and pushed Gufuu away. Vaati's phone started ringing. He picked it up and smiled, when it said it was Link.

"Hi, Link."
"Hello, Vaati. Dark's wounds have fully healed now."
"I heard. The school rung up last night telling me that."
"Well, I was wondering if you wanted to walk with me to school."

Vaati froze. 'Me? Walk to school with Link?'
"...I don't know," Vaati replied eventually. "Why not?" Link asked. "It's just... I don't want people hating you for walking with me after what happened to Dark."
"You're worried about that? It'll be fine."

Vaati looked at Gufuu. Gufuu shook his head, implying that he didn't want Vaati walking with Link. In fact, Gufuu didn't want Vaati anywhere near Gufuu.
Vaati just ignored him and nodded even though Link couldn't see it. "All right, where should we meet and what time?" He asked. "How about... I meet you at your house at 08:00?"
"Okay. See you then."

Vaati put the phone down and looked at Gufuu's disapproved face. "Gufuu, why do you hate him so much?" He asked.
"Haven't I told you? He's my enemy." Gufuu explained.
"Maybe his ancestor was but that doesn't mean that he is."

Gufuu huffed. "I wish you'd just listen to me for once and kill him."
Vaati frowned. "I'll never kill Link, Gufuu."
"You will. One day that is."

Those words unnerved Vaati. "I'm just going to get ready for school."

Link and Vaati were on their way to school and having a conversation about what Vaati was doing when he was suspended. Link realised that not much happened at all. When the two got there, nearly everyone's attention was on them. When their eyes were on Vaati, they turned to daggers. 'If looks could kill, I'd be nothing but a pool of blood and body organs.' Vaati thought.

Link patted Vaati's shoulder. "Don't pay any attention to them, Vaati. It's okay." Vaati smiled. The two walked passed Dark and Ganon unknowingly. Dark growled at Vaati. "That bastard... How dare he attack me..." Ganon smirked. "We'll get our revenge. Don't worry, Dark."
Dark nodded and grinned. "Yeah, we will."

School seemed to pass by quickly. Link asked if he could walk home with Vaati and he agreed. "Hey, Link. I wanted to ask, what is the connection between you and Dark?" Vaati asked as they walked towards his house.
Link hesitated. "Oh, um... Well, Dark is... How should I put it? He's..."
Vaati grinned. "If you don't want to tell me, it's fine."
Link smiled. "Thanks, Vaati," Then something came into Link's mind. "Oh for the love of Nayru... I forgot to get my homework from my history teacher. My parents would kill me if I forgot homework."

The very word, 'parents' made a shiver run down Vaati's spine. "Vaati, I have to go. I'll see you tomorrow." Link explained before turning around, and ran back to school. 'It's not like Link to forget homework. Well, it does happen.'

As Vaati walked home, he noticed that Gufuu hadn't said anything. "Gufuu, are you all right?" He asked. Gufuu looked at Vaati and frowned. "No, I'm not. Do you know why? Because that boy isn't dead yet. I can't stand it."
Vaati huffed. "I said it this morning. I'll never kill Link. No matter what you say." He replied.

"Descendant, you're a fool. Don't you know that he's that guy's- Huh, descendant?" Gufuu asked as he noticed that Vaati had stopped in his tracks. Gufuu looked where Vaati was looking and saw a car parked in front of Vaati's house. Vaati's eyes were wide like saucers. "Descendant?" Gufuu asked again.

"They're home." Vaati forced out.

Vaati opened the door as quietly as possible and sneaked to his room, to try and avoid the two certain individuals. He managed to get into his room and sat on his bed. Gufuu looked out of the window. "So they're your parents? Don't look any different from any other parent. Except for the, um, alcohol and the drugs."

"Why do they have to be here? They ruin everything." Vaati whispered to himself. "What was that, descendant?" Gufuu asked. "I said they ruin everything for me." Vaati replied. "You mentioned that before." Gufuu explained.
Vaati sighed. "Why can't I have normal parents that hurt me every chance they get?"

"What's that noise?"
Vaati froze. "Oh no..."

At the door, stood two figures; Vaati's parents. Vaati gulped. "H-Hello, mother. H-Hello, father. H-How are you?" He asked, stuttering. They snarled. "Terrible, now that you are here, you disgrace!" The mother growled. "You brought a curse upon this family, you bastard. You just don't go away!" The father shouted.

His father grabbed a nearby lamp from Vaati's counter and smashed it over Vaati's head. Vaati grunted and fell to the floor. Before he could recover, his mother yanked him up by the collar of his shirt. "Don't be so rude, you pest!" She hissed and slapped him across the face.
Vaati's back hit the wall and his father punched him in the face.

If it wasn't for his mother holding him up, he would've fallen to the floor again. Vaati had blood running down from above his left eye to his lower lip. His mother then kneed him in the stomach and made Vaati cry out and keel over. His mother let go of him and Vaati fell to the floor. His father grabbed Vaati by the hair and forced him to look up. Vaati clenched his teeth and glared at his parents.
"Don't you know how rude it is to glare at your parents?!" His mother snapped.

"Don't you know how cruel it is to beat up your child?" Vaati replied, without thinking about the consequences. His father punched him in the eye before dropping him. The two left Vaati on the floor and walked out the room.

Gufuu pulled Vaati up and saw that he was unconscious. 'My eye was always extremely vulnerable. No wonder that would knock him unconscious. Especially since he's not realised his true power yet,' Gufuu dragged him over to the bed and let him recover. 'I feel sorry for the boy. Having to put up with this because of me. I'm sorry for putting you through this, descendant. But I'm selfish. I won't go until the green-garbed hero dies.'

SilverAmarant: Aww, Gufuu you're a softie after all :)
Gufuu: No I'm not!
Vaati: Why did you let them beat me up?
SilverAmarant: They're abusive parents.
Vaati: But-!
SilverAmarant: So, what will happen next? Find out next time
