Author's note: Just an ordinary day for Keima (likely) before the "contract" changed his life.

========== Chapter 9: Unseen but close to God ==========

At the same time, Keima is busy playing the games in his PFP. "Looks like this girl is my 9627th capture huh?", Keima expressed as he pushed one of the buttons on his PFP to reach the final part of the game he is playing. It's been just an hour passed but Keima has already finished 5 games not including the game he is currently playing. It was quite a sunny day during the time Keima is playing at the rooftop and there's no one other than him in the area. A few moments later, the game that Keima is playing has been completed. He then moved on to the next game that he has. However, just as he is about to start up the next game, the PFP he is holding suddenly overheated rendering it useless. "Dammit, why do it has to break at the most interesting part?", Keima grumbled as he stare at his PFP now emitting smoke because it overheated. Keima sighed for a moment then he opened his bag. "It seems to be a good choice to bring another PFP here eh?", Keima said as he pulled another PFP off his bag. "Now back where I am", Keima said as he continued gaming. After another hour, Keima has finished all the games that he have. With everything done, Keima considered it a day and decided to go home. Before Keima go to the stairs, he gazed at the horizon for a brief moment. It was quite a beautiful horizon with the sun casting light behind the clouds. It was already sunset and the scenery is really beautiful. After a pause, Keima then went downstairs. As he stepped on the last step of the stair, he saw Keira and Haruna having a conversation on one side of the corridor. "This sucks", Keira said, "are you sure this guy even exists?". "I'm sure of that", Haruna replied. As Keima is walking towards the next stairs that will take him down the next floor, Haruna noticed him. "Look, there's another guy", Haruna said. "Oh, it's just otamega", Keira replied, "inspecting him will be just a waste of time. I won't deal with an otaku". It is clear that Keima heard what they said but he didn't even bothered looking at them. He just continued on his way. As soon as Keima was gone, Keira convinced Haruna to go home as well.

Very few students are left at the time when Keima reached the school grounds. Most of the students left are doing extra-curricular activities or are members of the school's sports team practicing for upcoming competitions. Of the sports clubs currently in the area, the track and field club appears to be exering the most effort of all. They appear to be dead serious in running just to improve their running record. After all, an upcoming meet with several schools is well underway and all track members don't feel wasting any minute idling while the meet nears. The track is currently lined with obstacles as they were being used by the track team for practices. At the same time, members of the newspaper club are also wandering around the school. It seems that they are up to something but it is unclear as to what it is. Most think that they are covering the preparations of the school's sports clubs for the upcoming meet. While all of the students left in the school are pre-occupied in what they are doing, Keima slipped past the main gate and continued his way home. While he is walking, Keima decided to buy some games as he is passing by a game store. "Welcome", the store keeper greeted Keima as he entered the shop. Despite how the shop looks from the outside, it contains stacks full of games to choose from that no one will think that the store is small because of it. As soon as he entered the store, Keima went to the shelves near the door and started looking at the games lined there. After looking in the first row of shelves, Keima went to the next one implying that he hasn't chosen any of the games in there. After a couple of minutes, Keima managed to find the games that he wanted and bought them. "That will be 1800 yen all in all", the store owner said. Keima then handed over the needed money for the games. It was quite a deal for Keima, he managed to buy 6 games for the said price. As soon as he got the games, Keima went out of the game store and headed home. Luckily for Keima, he managed to get home before it got dark in the streets.
