"Uh..," Bebe stares at Stan for a moment, bewildered. He seems to be getting angrier at every passing second they stand alone in the middle of the quiet hallway. "I just wanted to see our friend, that's all. I think I'm that last one to come. Everyone else has visited to see if he's okay already."
"He is not your friend!" Stan raises his voice. He doesn't understand why he's suddenly so upset. In Bebe's situation, there is an understandable reason, but the boiling rage that builds within his body every time the blonde opens her mouth surprises him greatly. The florescent lights above their heads continue to softly hum as they flicker ever-so-slightly. "You hurt him. Then you went on to sever his relationship with Clyde and all of his friends! That's not what friends do."
"Stan, please," Bebe keeps calm, a sharp contrast to the other day in the hall. "I've already said I feel horrible for what I did. All I want to do is make amends. I failed to do that on Thursday, so I've decided to try again where it's quieter."
"Don't you dare go near him!" Stan's voice nearly hitches and he really doesn't know why. "He's already weak from the smoke. Do you want to do any more damage?"
"Stan! Please stop!" Bebe lowers her voice almost down to a whisper in contrast to Stan's bellowing. Then she leans forward determinedly and intercepts Stan's angry, flailing arms. He grabs his chin and holds it in place, staring straight into his eyes. Frozen in shock, Stan immediately stops moving, taken aback by Bebe's sudden grab to control. "Keep in mind that this is a hospital."
Stan eventually calms, though his breathing begs that otherwise is the story on the inside, "Fine. Go visit him. But don't look so confused when he commits suicide because you broke his heart even further than it already is." With that, he rips himself from her grip, spins around, and storms down the hall the way she came. Bebe just stands and stares, watching him go in profound bewilderment. Why did he feel the need to be so rash, she wonders. He and Kyle have been super best friends for as long as anyone can remember, but this was not like him at all. She already had Kyle yell at her. She doesn't need Stan to be angry as well. As Stan disappears around the corner down the hall, Bebe briskly turns on her heel with a huff and enters Kyle's room.
"Hey," a gentle voice catches Kyle's attention. He knows that achingly familiar tone. He's been hoping not to hear it outside of dreams for a long time not. He doesn't have the energy to deal with this.
He closes his eyes tiredly and mentally prepares himself. Slowly he turns his head to the side to face the girl, "Hey. What are you doing here? Clyde's been out of the hospital for days."
Bebe smiles gently, "I'm not here for Clyde, silly. I'm here to talk to you." She pauses before shuffling modestly into the room and at Kyle's bedside. "It didn't seem to work at school. I just wanted to try again. I'm really sorry about the way I acted and what happened afterward. You didn't deserve it. Not any of this. I just want to be friends again. I hope you will accept me."
"We...were more than just friends and you know it," Kyle doesn't even have the energy to scream anymore. He just wants all this drama to end so he can focus on what's happening to everyone in town.
Bebe bows her head, "There is no way I can make up for the time lost between the two of us or the friendships that were ruined because of me. At least none other than you letting me hang out with you again and catch up on things. It's been a while. I just hope you'll accept me after all this time." Kyle remains silent. Bebe takes this as a sign to keep on trying. "Nicole's still downstairs with Token. I thought maybe we could get the nurse's permission for you to accompany me down there. I'll get the nurse." She turns to leave out the door.
"Do you love him?" Bebe stops in a dead freeze as Kyle rasps the passive question. She turns around.
"Excuse me?"
"Clyde. How do you feel about him? Are you two still together? Does he even know what you're doing right now? How do you know he's not still weak and bound for another trip here? He could walk through that door right now, wondering exactly what we're doing."
"Clyde and I sort of have a rocky relationship right now. All of my friends are at this point. I want to restore all of them and make amends but I am going to need your help. So what do you say, Kyle? Will you help me?" Another moment of silence. Then Kyle slowly nods his head in affirmation. Bebe's face instantly lights up for the first time since her confrontation with Stan. "Great! I'll be right back." Bebe finally leaves the room to find the nearest nurse or doctor.
She's gone for a few minutes so Kyle has short while during that time to reflect on things after waking up without anyone disturbing him. He's been out for quite a while from what he can tell. After all the drama at school, he went straight to Kenny's house, saw him fight a monster, and then woke up here. Just then, a nurse walks in with Bebe behind her. Kyle figures he'll just have to sort things out gradually if he wants anything solved at all.
