Filler to Amanda Lives on: Addendum

Since I am still learning this format and reviewing my story, I believe I have left some things out that should have been addressed. These are my updates:

From Chapter # 3:

This occurs when they are on the plane heading home and after Amanda wakes up and gets the update on the attack:

Amanda says "looks like we still have about an hour before landing. We did say we were going to talk about Emily. I know how much she meant to you and I know you have been worried about me, and then having to go to the Agency after you get me settled; but what we haven't talked about what I can do for you. Do you need to talk to me or anyone? She was a very important person in your life."

"I appreciate your concern, I do Amanda, but you are my priority, and then there is this terrorist thing at the Agency…and" Lee's voice trails off. Amanda adds, "then there will be the next attack or your moving in or Billy sending you out of the country. There will never be the perfect or right time to discuss this. If you can't talk to me, then what about one of the Agency doctors? I heard that Billy had you talk to someone during Night Crawler when I was kidnapped. Why don't you talk to him? Everything is confidential." Lee responds, "you are right, I know you are, it's just that before you it's been difficult to express my feeling to anyone." Amanda says, "Yes, I am right, and you better remember that Scarecrow. The wife is always right" "Yes mamm", Lee smiles.

Chapter 4

Instead of taking Lee's car to collect something some of his things with the boys, it was pointed out to me that not many things would fit into Lee's car, so they took Amanda's.

Lee picked up boxes, strapping tape and bubble wrap from Office Depot before heading over to his apartment. The boy's dutifully help Lee pack up the important things in his apartment and into the boxes. Jamie sits down and Lee asks him "if everything is okay, does he need a glass of water?" "No," Jamie responds, "I just don't understand how you and mom would do that to us. Were you just being nice to us because of mom and now that you are married, you have to be?" "Oh no, Jamie, I wanted to get to know you. I love your mother very much and I wanted to get to know both of you, but now that I do, I don't have to be nice to you or like you because of your mother, I just do because both you & Philip are amazing boys. I know it may take time getting to know me more, but I am not trying to take your mother away from you; actually, I want you to accept me into your family." Lee says. "I told you he was cool, dick wad" Philip says. "Hey, I know I'm not your father, nor am I trying to take his place, but your mother would not want you to talk to your brother with those words or that tone of voice" Lee reprimands. "Sorry Lee, sorry Jamie," Philip says. "Jamie, why don't we ask Lee what else he wants us to pack". Lee says, "I think it may take a couple of trips, so why don't I grab some things from my bedroom, some clothes, my shaving stuff and things like that, okay? Philip there are some old records and CD's I think would be nice to bring. I think your mother has a record player that takes vinyl records, then I'll grab a few things from the kitchen and then when your mother is feeling better, we can discuss what other things we want to bring over. Oh, and Jamie, why don't find a Tupperware box or something to put my fish in and we can get the tank later." After a couple of hours and two phone calls to check in on Amanda, Lee says, "I think that's enough for now. Why don't we stop off for some pizza and I'll call your grandmother about her shopping list?

While Lee was away with the boys, Amanda calls her doctor.

"Dr. Jackson?" Amanda asks. "I know my appointment is not for another week, but I have a question, actually a request. A good friend of my died last week and her service is in a couple of days. I would like to know if I could get approval to leave the house for a few hours to attend her memorial service. I promise to take it easy and I even have a wheelchair, so I won't be standing." (pause) "I can, oh thank you Dr. Jackson. Yes, I promise to take it easy and promise to go back to bed as soon as it's over".

After Amanda wakes and sees the note from Lee, she warms up the soup and sips it slowly. Once again, it's a late night and by the time Lee gets home, mother and the boys have already gone to bed. Amanda is still awake and Lee rushes to the sofa bed. Why aren't you sleeping? Do you feel alright sweetheart?" He asks. "Yes, everything is fine, I got the okay to go to Emily's service day after tomorrow. I was just remembering when I met her for the first time and then being surprised, she was not British, but an American and an agent. Then hearing stories about Lord Farnsworth." Amanda says sadly.

Lee helps Amanda get dressed in a simple black dress. She laughs softly and says, "I have a good excuse not wear my pantyhose. Too much effort and I won't be standing." Lee replies, "awe shucks mamm you do have very nice legs. In a few weeks I want to see you in something that shows off those amazing legs you have, and if you are wearing pantyhose, I get to take them off for you. He helps her into the station wagon, and they head off to the service at the church. As soon as it's over, Amanda tugs on Lee's sleeve and says, "I hate to cut and run, but I think I need to get back to bed. This thing has worn me out. Do you mind skipping the reception?" "No, of course not". Lee replies, "I know Emily would have appreciated you being here and would understand and if she were in your shoes, she would want to skip something like this too. I don't recall her having a reception for Lord Farnsworth when he passed away. Just let me tell Billy we are ducking out early.
