TWF: Heya, this is the Wild Fang speaking, along with Fen–kun!
Fen: Hey guys, what's up? Today we're bringing you another chapter of Kamen Rider GX: Society of Light!
TWF: And it's going to be another Chazzter chapter. Predictable, huh?
Fen: But the duel isn't! Like we said, these duels are gonna be original, not following the anime!
TWF: And for this chapter, I'm not the one who do this duel, since I'm not efficient with Arcana Force deck… =_=;
Fen: Yeah, someone else is doing that. So I thank Master of the Wild Card and Duelist of Dawn for helping out, so let's get to it!
Disclaimer: Same thing.
"O~h! That's a pretty star up there!" Mitsuyo chirped as she, Tsukiyo and Allyson are at the beach, stargazing as Mitsuyo looked in a telescope.
"Yes, that's right. That's one of Hercules' stars." Allyson said.
"Say, Allyson. Are you sure you're not cold? I mean, when it comes to the beach, it can get chilly, especially since you're still wearing your swimsuit and a jacket." Tsukiyo said.
"I'll be fine. I can adapt to anything easily." Allyson assured.
"Really?"
"Yes. I used to live in Cairo, Egypt under the extreme heat of the sun. This is nothing."
"No wonder your skin is so~ tan!" Mitsuyo perked up.
"I'll take that as a compliment." Allyson smiled. As she looked up high in the sky, Tsukiyo noticed that her expression changed.
"Something wrong, Allyson?" Tsukiyo asked.
"I'm just wondering… whether the twins were able to save Professor Kururugi on time, due to the Cosmos foretelling the future."
"TAIHENDA! TAIHENDA!" A voice shouted.
"Hm?" The girls said in confusion before they turned to see Kivat and Tatsulot coming towards them.
"Hey, it's the cute bat and dragon!" Mitsuyo chirped happily.
"Oi! I'm not THAT cute!" Kivat exclaimed.
"Pyun, pyun~! I don't mind being called cute~!" Tatsulot thought otherwise.
"Oooh~! I wanna hug 'em both!" Mitsuyo chirped happily.
"Mitsuyo, focus." Tsukiyo said before looking at the two. "What's wrong, Kivat and Tatsulot?"
"It's Kyoshiro!" Kivat cried out.
"What about him?"
"He's hurt badly!" Kivat said. "He's in the infirmary now!"
"What?!" Tsukiyo exclaimed.
"Wow~! Your predictions really did came true, after all~!" Mitsuyo said in awe towards Allyson.
"It is what the cosmos foretold. It's up to me to decide what to do, Mitsuyo." Allyson explained.
"C'mon, c'mon, c'mon, let's go already!" Kivat urged.
"Pyun, pyun~ ikuze, ikuze, ikuze!" Tatsulot added before the two flew off.
"Wait for me! I wanna catch you!" Mitsuyo called out before running after them.
"Ugh! Mitsuyo, hold up!" Tsukiyo groaned. She then remembered something as she looked at Allyson. "Sorry about this, Allyson! Perhaps another time?"
"Of course. The stars are always available in the vast galaxy." Allyson smiled. "You are always welcome to watch the stars with me."
"Alright, thanks!" Tsukiyo bowed slightly before quickly chasing after her sister.
As Allyson was on her own she turned her attention to her telescope. "Well now, I should continue on with my research…" Unknown to her, a shooting star was flying over the island, heading towards a familiar boat that's heading out of the academy.
(Cue in Now or Never by NaNo)
(Instrumental) With the sound of drums, the lights started flashing on Kurogasa, Alexis & his family together in one scene, Rika & Jaden side–by–side, Koji and Marta together as she hugs Mamori from behind, Victor and Kurai looked at each other as Victor handed out his Deck, the rest of GX members and finally went to the main title, with all of the Heisei insignias rotate around the red core When the title disappears, the camera zooms in at Kamen Rider City, then on a road with each Kamen Rider on both sides of the road. Kuuga, Ryuki, Blade, Kabuto, Kiva, W, and Fourze are on the left side and Agito, Faiz, Hibiki, Den–O, Decade, OOO, and Wizard on the right side, doing their iconic poses along the way before it reached the light at the end of the road, to trigger the next scene.
(LOST~, tesagari de sagashiteta [sagashiteta]) Sitting at the edge of a cliff as the sun sets Jaden looks at his blank cards while Rika looks sadly at him from afar.
(Tozasareta mirai no, kotae nante doko ni mo, nai hashiru shou~dou ima kaidoku funou~) Kyoshiro stood high at the top of the school building, looking at the view of the island down below with his wife Yukina at his side as they had their attention on their son, standing at the coastline of the beach.
(FOUND~, kudaketa hazu no unmei o~) Kurogasa looks at the sea before also looking at his blank cards while Alexis looks sadly from afar.
(Mijuku na yume no naka de, kikoetekita nda, saigo made "I'll be there for you.") After looking at the blank cards, Kurogasa lowered his head down, with the bangs of his hair covering his eyes. Alexis approached Kurogasa and hugged him tightly from behind before she whispered in his ears, while tears streamed down her eyes that were covered by the bangs of her hair: "I'll be there for you."
(Tachidomaranai~ kono hari dake wa~, boku no asu o kizamu oto tsukisasu!) In the next scene, inside the Obelisk Mansion, the possessed Sartorius laughed as the screen zooms out, as most students were now a part of the Society of Light until the camera turns towards Kurogasa, Jaden, and Koji facing them as Yukina stood by Kurogasa's side.
(Shinjitsu kara nigetara ima) Hassleberry, Syrus, Alexis, Bastion, Chazz, Victor, Kurai, and Aster look up to face the screen with determination on their faces on the right side.
(Genjitsu ni mo maketara ima) Rika, Marta, Mamori, Atticus, Crowler, Bonaparte, Sheppard do the same thing on the left side.
(Nani ga nokoru no~? [nokoru no~?]) Zane appears on the other side with his Cyber Dark Dragon behind him while donning his new suit with an evil glare and smirk, before the scene changes to Kamen Rider Sorcerer in his armor, looking at the screen.
(Kazoekirenai kono kizu dake ga, boku no kinou o zanzou to shite kataru) Meanwhile, Sartorius and Kamen Rider Sorcerer, with the Light of Destruction looming over behind them with the assistance of the Arcana Monsters, faces Jaden, Koji, and Kurogasa as Jaden has the Neo Spacians, Koji has the Lost Boogie Knights', and Kurogasa has the Secondary Riders behind them ready to face Sartorius.
(Unmei ga hodokete mo i~ma,) While the war is going on, Allyson, Masaru, Tsukiyo, and Mitsuyo stood next to a figure wearing a mask from the figure's left.
(Sonzai o kowashite mo i~ma) William, Rock, Ginsuke, and Shunsuke stood next to the masked figure's right.
(Boku no michi o yuku yo~ It's now or never!) The masked figure took off the mask, the screen showing the bottom half of the face and looks at the battle with a smile, thinking about, Kurogasa. The figure and the characters head towards the battle area, the figure saying "It's now or never!" before the screen flashed white to another scene.
(This is what they say "Live your life today" [Yeah, yeah!]. There will always be, there will always be a way. [Yeah!]) Kurogasa is on a cliff gazing at the sunset, as his thoughts of the Primary Riders appeared in the sky as ghost images.
(This is what they say "Live your life today" [Yeah, yeah!]. There will always be, there will always be a way. [Yeah!]) He bows his heads then closes his eyes, remembering the past encounters he had and remembering the smiling face of Tarakudo after his disappearance telling him to live a good life. Kurogasa opened his eyes with a small smile and looked to his left and sees Alexis next to him, smiling and he smiles back.
(This is what they say "Live your life today." [Yeah, yeah!]) Kurogasa and Alexis then look back at the sunset holding hands as the wind blew gently and the cameras slowly pans out.
Chapter 9: The Light is the Answer
"Oh man, first Kurogasa and now his old man?!" Koji groaned as he, Rika, Bastion, Alexis, and Victor were running to the infirmary, along with Syrus, Rock, and Hassleberry.
"Seriously, what the heck is going on around here on this island?!" Rika added.
"Yeah…" Syrus said.
"Something wrong, man?" Rock asked as he skated toward the infirmary.
"I don't know how should I say this, but have any of you guys seen Jaden? He wasn't in his room this evening…" Syrus said worriedly.
"Really?" Alexis asked.
"Yeah, come to think of it, where is he?" Victor wondered.
"Worry about that later! We'll find him after finding out what's wrong with Kuro's dad!" Rika said.
As soon as they've reached the infirmary, they noticed Yukina sobbing at her husband's side, as Kyoshiro was now in a deep sleep, being patched up on his body and arms, especially the heavy bandage on his chest.
"Oh, you guys came." Ginsuke noticed.
"Mrs. Kururugi?" Alexis asked as she approached her. "What happened?"
"Alexis…" Yukina sobbed as she immediately embraced her, covering her face in her embrace. "It's horrible, Alexis! My husband got injured badly!"
"I see…" Alexis said as she hugged her back. "I'm sorry."
"Ginsuke, what happened?" Koji asked.
"Well, we saw this black robed guy about to kill the Professor until my brother and I used our Monsters to block the attack."
"Huh?" Syrus asked confused. "What do you mean by that?"
"It's better if I show you." Shunsuke said, making everyone turn to him and he placed his Deck in his duel disk, activating it, before drawing out a card. "Oi, Tamamo, come on out."
"Hai~! Only because you summoned me with your kind voice~, dar~ling!" she chirped happily and immediately jumped out from her card. Her whole figure materializing, able to turn herself, into a solid figure instead of a hologram.
"Whoa!" Syrus exclaimed, taking a step back.
"She's a pretty uh… lady? Fox?" Victor said confused, unable to say it to her correctly due to her current status.
"What in the–" Bastion said.
"What's going on?" Rika asked.
"You see… my brother and I… we're Psychic Duelists." Shunsuke said.
"Psychic Duelists?" the rest of them said in unison.
"Both of you?" Syrus added.
"Yep! That's why I just lo~ve my darling!"Tamamo said as she immediately jumped on Shunsuke's arms. "Right, dar~ling?"
"That's right," Shunsuke smiled.
"What is a Psychic Duelist?" Bastion asked intrigued.
"Long story short, whatever card comes out becomes real, even the attacks they make becomes real." Ginsuke said.
"Just as how I'm holding Tamamo in my arms right now." Shunsuke said as Tamamo snuggled close to him, seeing imaginary hearts above her head. Even her fox ears were twitching happily and her long fox tail wagged happily too.
"Wow…" Rock said.
"But wait… Allyson's phone call…" Koji said.
"That, we don't know." Ginsuke said. "Whether she might have known about us as Psychic Duelists or called us out by pure accident is something we don't know. One thing's for certain, without her help, Professor Kururugi might be in deep trouble."
"Gosh… things are just getting weirder every day in DA, huh?" Rika pointed out.
"But… who attacked Professor Kururugi?" Alexis asked.
"Ughhhh…" Kyoshiro moaned.
"Huh?" Everyone asked turning to Kyoshiro's body.
"A–Anata…?" Yukina got out.
"O… Or…" he said between his groans, making Yukina immediately approach him while holding his hand.
"W–What is it, anata?" Yukina said worriedly. "What are you saying?"
"Or… ma… did…" he muttered before passing out.
"Anata? Anata!" Yukina cried out.
"Orma?" Alexis asked confused, but Rika and Koji knew otherwise.
"Oh no…" Rika gasped, looking at Koji. "He doesn't mean–"
"He does…" Koji gritted. "This is worse than I thought."
"What? What is it?" Victor asked.
"Is there something you two know about?" Bastion said.
"There is only one person that we know who has the same name as what Mr. Kururugi said." Rika informed.
"The Phantom that ruled Magic Land, known as Minister Orma." Koji said. "Also known as… Kamen Rider Sorcerer."
"KAMEN RIDER?!" Everyone asked.
"Yeah… and the worst part is… he's a Dark Riders like the others." Rika said.
"WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?!"
"As surprising as it is, that's the truth." Rika said.
"I thought all of the Kamen Riders are ones that stand for justice?" Shunsuke said.
"Oh, there are actually Dark Riders too. The light can't exist without darkness." Syrus recalled. "And they almost took over the academy once before spreading across the world."
"Are you serious?!" Ginsuke asked.
"Yeah, in fact… we second years here were all part of a war that took place last year." Alexis said. "The Rider War…"
"The Rider War?" Rock asked.
"It's a long story." Rika said.
"And it's best if we leave it at that." Bastion nodded as he pondered about the situation. "It seems like there's another foe that wants to succeed where Orpheus left off."
"We're here!" Mitsuyo exclaimed as she slammed the door open, surprising the group while Tsukiyo panted heavily after running for so long.
"Hah… hah… hah… I hate running…" Tsukiyo panted.
"Oi, Lexy–chan, you gotta help me!" Kivat said flying in and hiding behind her. "That Mitsuyo girl is nuts!"
"Huh?" Alexis asked confused, looking at Kivat.
"C'mere you!" Mitsuyo exclaimed, managing to catch Kivat in her arms.
"What is up with that girl?" Tamamo asked while noticing Mitsuyo snuggling on the struggling Kivat.
"I have no idea, Tamamo." Shunsuke pointed out.
"So… what's going on?" Tsukiyo asked after managing to catch her breath.
"Long story." Koji said.
The next day…
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! This is terrible!" Masaru cried out.
"JADEN'S GONE!" Syrus wailed.
"What?!" Koji gawked.
"When?!" Rika panicked.
"More importantly, WHY?" Victor added.
"I DON'T KNOW WHY, BUT THIS IS TERRIBLE!" Syrus shouted, running around in circles like a madman.
*WHACK!*
"OW!" Syrus cringed, after being whacked on the head by Hassleberry.
"Calm down soldier!" Hassleberry shouted. "Ya' need to keep your mind at bay and not go AWOL just yet!"
"He's right, man." Rock nodded. "There's gotta be a reason why he's missing in the first place."
"C–Could it be that… he can't see his cards?" Masaru pointed out. "H–He did say that he can't see a–any cards, right?"
"Yeah, but we can see it." Alexis said.
"Even though, Jaden's not as bad as Kurogasa's condition, it's still, worrisome." Kurai added.
"W–What do we do?" Mamori stuttered.
"We should split up and try to find him, love." Marta told Mamori.
"That's the only option we got, so far." Rika nodded.
"Oh, Jaden! I hope you're alright!" Syrus prayed.
"You and me both." Rika said.
"Say, speaking of finding people, has anyone seen Chazz?" Rock asked, looking around.
"Now that you mention it…" Alexis said, looking around too. "Where is Chazz?"
"He probably went off on his own again." Bastion deducted. "It would seem like he's not interested about this."
"That's probably true." Kurai nodded.
"He's probably going to enjoy this since Jaden has been absent from classes these days too." Marta pondered.
"For now, we should try to look for him." Koji said, and the rest of them nodded.
Somewhere at the end of the island, as the sun was about to set on the area, Chazz looked at the horizon, still thinking about the conversation he had with Jaden earlier this morning, looking at the horizon, a lot of things came into his mind.
Flashback
Jaden continued to mope in his sour mood, still feeling sad of unable to see his monsters or any cards he had in his hand. "Quit mopin' already!" Chazz said, making Jaden look at him, surprised.
"Chazz?" Jaden got out. "What are you doing here?"
"I came out here to think, alright?" Chazz said, and Jaden looked down at the sea. "Besides, I'm sick and tired of hearing them going on and on and on about worrying about you. It's just been a few days since your last duel with that Aster. Big whoop, everyone loses once in a while."
"Mmmmmmmmm…" Jaden said feeling depressed.
"HEY! I SAID STOP MOPIN'!" Chazz shouted.
"Sorry… can't help it…"
"Great… you're mopin because you can't talk to your monsters anymore?" Chazz retorted.
"…yeah." Jaden nodded, really annoying Chazz.
"Snap out of it, man! Stop making everyone worried about you already!" Chazz exclaimed.
"I know that, Chazz." Jaden began. "All I ever wanted is to have fun in a duel with everyone else. And now, I can't see any of my cards and I can't duel anymore. The only thing that I have passion for…"
"Oh, I know what you need! Let's duel right here, right now!" Chazz challenged.
"A… duel?" Jaden blinked.
"Yeah so stand up and–" Chazz paused for a bit.
"Huh?" Jaden asked confused.
"I can't believe I'm gonna say this, but stand up and get your game on!" Jaden looked at him in confusion, looking back to his deck. "Come on, and I'll go easy on ya too, if it makes you feel better!"
Jaden continued to stare at his Deck. With a sigh, he stood up and… turned his back on Chazz. "Sorry, Chazz… Not today."
"What?! Why?!" he snapped.
"I just… don't feel like it… maybe later…" Jaden added before finally leaving.
End Flashback
"GAAAAAAAAAAAH, Jaden you're such a pain in the aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaass!" Chazz shouted in the air. After the echo subdued, he looked up in the sky, saying, "You idiot. If you keep this up, you'll always make other people worry about you. Get a grip already, man!"
Sartorius placed three cards on each side and one card in the middle, preparing to read the fortune using his cards.
"Planning the fortune telling, I see?" Orma said.
Yes, old friend." Sartorius chuckled. "And I was just about to begin."
"This ought to be interesting." Orma chuckled as he took a chair and sat on it, looking at the cards on the table. "Let's hear what this fortune says."
"Very well." Sartorius chuckled as he flipped the middle one of the middle cards. "The Wheel of Fate. Just as we predicted before, the foes before us are much more powerful than we ever imagined. Both Jaden… and this Kamen Rider you speak of."
"Indeed they are." Orma said.
Sartorius then flipped another card over and he raised an eyebrow this. "Oh?"
"What is it?" Orma asked.
"The Fool." he chuckled. "It looks like there is another one that shares the same characteristics as the boys I described earlier."
"Oh? There's another potential threat to our grand plan?"
"Barely." he chuckled. "You see, old friend, Jaden and Kurogasa's souls are protected by their spirit friends. Supposedly, when you fused your magic on the talisman you gave to Kaito, while I fused my energy onto Aster's Destiny HERO monsters, that last attack should have wiped their souls clean, making them our eternal slaves."
"Is that so?" Orma pondered while looking at the card. "My magic should've done the job after that devastating attack on his soul, but I do feel his soul is being protected, hence, the reason he is in his coma state. I have another purpose for that boy, rather than what you have in mind, good friend."
"Oh?" Sartorius raised his eyebrow. "Your goal isn't to make him our eternal slave?"
"No." Orma shook his head. "The Light has seen the full threat of this boy. And should the spirits hadn't protected him, it would mean one thing for that boy." he said as Orma extended his hand and flipped the card on the table, which Sartorius noticed.
"Hmmmmm… I see your point." Sartorius nodded.
"Exactly," Orma said.
"Well then, what do you propose we do?"
"I suggest we go make the other one you spoke of earlier, see the Light." Orma suggested as Sartorius flipped up the last card on the table.
"The Hangman." Sartorius noticed. "Ah, yes. I see your point. This young man shares the similarities of the other two only this one is much weaker."
"And easier to manipulate as well." Orma chuckled.
["Mr. Sartorius, we are going to reaching Duel Academy soon!"] The pilot said.
"Well now, I guess that is my cue to leave." Orma chuckled as a portal opened up. "I shall wait in my chamber. Be sure… to let that boy see the Light, good friend."
"As do I." Sartorius chuckled.
Meanwhile…
"JADEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN!" Rika shouted.
"WHERE ARE YOUUUUUUUUU?!" Marta shouted on another side.
LINE BREAK
"J–JADEN–SEMPAIIIIIIIII!" Mamori exclaimed.
"Still can't find him, Mamori?" Syrus asked, making her squeak.
"U–Um… n–no, not yet." she shook her head timidly.
LINE BREAK
"JADEN, CAN YOU HEAR US?!" Bastion called out.
"FRONT AND CENTER SOLDIER!" Hassleberry shouted. "COME OUT OF THE TRENCHES!"
"C'MON DUDE! YOU DON'T HAVE TO RUN AND HIDE FROM US! WE'RE HERE FOR YOU!" Victor shouted.
"JA~DEN~! WHERE ARE YOU?!" Rock shouted as he skated around the area, followed by Kurai and Masaru.
"Still no sign of him." Kurai stated.
"D–Do you think h–he's in danger?" Masaru asked.
"In this situation, anything can happen."
"B–But we can't just leave him in danger!" Masaru panicked.
"Don't worry. That's why we're here to find him, Masaru." Kurai reminded.
"Hey! We better get a move on now!" Rock said. "We can take a rest later, right now, we better get moving now!"
"Right." They nodded.
"JADEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN!" Koji called out.
"Man, where did he go this time?"
"We're back, honey." Aqua Mama appeared as she approached him, along with the other spirits.
"So, how did it go? Did you guys find him anywhere?" Koji asked.
"Sorry, but there's no sign of him." Groove Stone sighed.
"It's like finding a needle in a haystack." Thunder Roller added.
"This ain't groovy at all." Tornado Hippie sighed. "Kuro's still in a coma and now the Jaden kid's gone missing."
"And not only that, my groovy turtle also disappeared…" Aqua Mama soured a bit, which he noticed.
"I know…" Koji trailed off while clenching his fist in anger. "Dang it, if only we're able to learn about the incident sooner than we thought…"
"Don't blame yourself, Koji." Groove Stone said. "That ain't groovy, if ya let it be."
"I know…" Koji sighed.
"We might as well keep searching." DJ Flame said. "Let's hope we find some of trail leading to Jaden and stay hot on it."
"DJ's right, let's keep searching." Disco King added. And with that, the spirits disappeared, leaving Koji on his own.
"Jaden… where are you?" Koji said before running off.
Meanwhile, late at night…
"I can't believe this…" Crowler grumbled. "Why are we meeting Aster's manager this late?"
"Oh pipe down Monsieur! This is Aster's manager we're talking about!" Bonaparte waved off. "If he's coming here, that means it must be very important!"
"I know that, you nitwit!" Crowler said in annoyance. "Why can't he come here during daylight?"
"I do not know. Zis' is his choice, after all. And we're doing zis' for ze' sake of ze Academy." Bonaparte explained.
"Oh whatever," Crowler grumbled.
At that point, they saw a helicopter coming towards the island and was fast approaching.
"Ah, Zhere he is!" Bonaparte stated.
"Quickly, get into position!" Crowler exclaimed.
"Oui!" Bonaparte nodded as the helicopter landed on the ground and both Bonaparte and Crowler are now in position.
After the engine switched off, the door opened up, revealing Sartorius in it before he stepped out from the helicopter, looking around his horizon for a moment. "So, this is Duel Academy."
"Welcome! Welcome!" Crowler greeted, approaching him along with Bonaparte and Sartorius noticed.
"Bonjour, Monsieur! Welcome to Duel Academy!" Bonaparte greeted.
"Thank you." Sartorius bowed. "I apologize that I had to come here this late."
"Oh no, not at all!" Crowler waved off.
"You are the manager of a Pro Duelist after all!" Bonaparte said. "We'll do whatever is necessary to make sure your stay here is comfortable. So, what can we do for you?"
"It is nothing. I do not need to be escorted by both of you." Sartorius said.
"What?" Crowler blinked.
"Monsieur, you will be lost in the island without our help!" Bonaparte pointed out.
"I am perfectly fine." Sartorius assured. "I know exactly where I'm going."
"And where's that exactly?" Crowler asked as Sartorius started leaving.
"Let's just say… I'm going to find another client to enlist."
"Stupid Jaden…" Chazz grumbled to himself as he walked all alone at night, on his way back to the Slifer Red Dorm. "You know you can run, but you can't escape your problems!"
"Whoa! That is so deep, boss!" the three Ojamas appeared, annoying Chazz.
"Argh! Who invited you three creeps in the first place?!" Chazz exploded, making them yelp simultaneously.
"We're just here to help you out, boss!" Ojama Yellow pointed out.
"Yeah, right! More like hanging around just to annoy me!" Chazz retorted.
"'ey, boss! We really wanna help out!" Ojama Black added.
"Yeah, let's help you!" Ojama Green said.
"You wanna help? Then, stay out of my way!" Chazz snapped before wiping them off from all over him.
"YEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!" The Ojama yelled, before disappearing.
"Idiots…" Chazz grumbled.
"Perhaps, I could help." A voice announced, alerting Chazz.
"Who's there?!" Chazz demanded. "Show yourself!"
"Have no fear, I am here before you." Sartorius voice said, making him look at his direction.
"Wha–?"
"Trust me, they mean well." Sartorius said as he approached him. "Monster spirits don't often communicate with the human world. Once they find someone they could trust, they can be quite loyal. You have a gift, Mr. Princeton."
"Gh!" Chazz gritted getting defensive for some reason. "Who are you?! How do you know my name?!"
"My name is Sartorius." The man bowed. "I am Aster Phoenix's manager."
"Wha?!" Chazz asked shocked.
"Just like you, I have a gift as well. And I have traveled quite a way to meet you." he added. "Though, it would be faster if his magic would be able to apply to me too."
"Huh? What are you blabbering about?" Chazz exclaimed. "And why do you want to meet me?
"Simple. I want to use someone like you." he simplified. "Someone with the power to speak with the monster spirits."
"You're not making much sense here." Chazz said.
"Then perhaps we can clear things up with a duel." Sartorius proposed.
"A duel?" Chazz raised an eyebrow.
"Yes, why don't you show me what you have to offer? Like I told you before, I am Aster's manager." Sartorius offered.
"And you wanna see if I got what it takes to be a pro?" Chazz smirked, interested with the idea.
"That's right. I can make you one of my clients with this." Sartorius added.
"Hmph, well since you offered, sure I'll duel you." Chazz smirked again before pulling out a duel disk from his bag.
'Hmhmhmhmhmhmhmhmhm, fool… you played right into my trap.' Sartorius chuckled in his thoughts.
"Alright, I'm ready when you are!" Chazz said inserting his Deck in his disk, activating it.
"Indeed I am as well." he chuckled as the table appeared before him, with a Deck in the middle of it.
"Where's your duel disk?" he asked.
"Who needs them, when you have this?" Sartorius pointed out as a chair appeared before him, making him sit on it.
"You've gotta be kidding me…" Chazz deadpanned.
"Well then shall we begin?" Sartorius asked.
"Yeah, I guess." Chazz said before drawing his Starting Hand.
"DUEL!"
Chazz: 4000
Sartorius: 4000
"I'll go first!" Chazz said drawing his sixth card. "I summon X-Head Cannon in ATK mode!" A blue machine with a spike ball lower region and two cannon barrels on its shoulders appeared. (4/ATK: 1800/DEF: 1500) "Next I play Frontline Base, and thanks to that, I can Special Summon Z–Metal Tank." A yellow tank that looked more like some kind of cruiser than an actual tank also appeared. (4/ATK: 1500/DEF: 1300) "I'll end my turn with a facedown."
"Very we'll. It's my turn then." Sartorius said as he drew his sixth card. "From my Hand I summon Arcana Force III – The Empress in Attack Mode." The Monster that appeared was a grey–skinned alien clad in strange blue armor–like attire (4/ ATK: 1300/DEF: 1300). "And now I activate the ability of The Empress." Sartorius continued. An image of the Monster Card appeared above his head. "The card spins, and you tell me when it stops. Depending on the position of the card, a different effect is applied." The card began to slowly rotate.
"Okay stop!" Chazz yelled after a few seconds. The floating card began to slow down until it stopped right side–up.
"Ah. The Empress is right side–up; meaning that whenever you Summon or Set a Monster, I'm allowed to call forth an Arcana Force Monster." Chazz narrowed his eyes at Sartorius. "I'll end with two facedown cards." Two reversed cards materialized in front of Sartorius.
"What? That's it?" Chazz asked. "I've seen better, than that!" He drew his next card. "And whaddya know? I summon Y–Dragon Head in ATK mode!" The red mechanical dragon appeared (4/ATK: 1500/DEF: 1600).
"And with that, Empress's effect activates allowing me to Special Summon an Arcana Force Monster from my Hand. "After all, the Empress can't be alone without this. I Special Summon Arcana Force IV – The Emperor." The next Monster to appear was another grey–skinned alien, but this one was clad in plates of black armor adorned with red gems. (4/ATK: 1400/DEF: 1400) The Monster card appeared above and started rotating. "Since he was summoned, you must do the same thing. Tell it when to stop." Sartorius said.
"Stop!" Chazz said after a few seconds and it landed… right side–up.
"Ah, right side–up again." Sartorius said. "That means all Arcana Force Monsters I control gain 500 ATK."
Arcana Force III – The Empress (4/ATK: 1300–1800/DEF: 1300)
Arcana Force IV – The Emperor (4/ATK: 1400–1900/DEF: 1400)
"Heh, like that'll help you!" Chazz said. "Because now I'm combining my Monsters, to make XYZ Dragon Cannon!" The monsters then attached themselves with X–Head Cannon on top, Y–Dragon Head in the middle, and Z–Metal Tank on the bottom (8/ATK: 2800/DEF: 2600)
"Hmhmhm… Very well then." Sartorius replied with a chuckle.
"Now I'll discard one card from my Hand to activate Dragon Cannon's ability of destroying a card. And your Emperor will do!" Chazz announced. He discarded the card and Dragon Cannon charged up its guns, aiming at the Emperor.
"I think not!" Sartorius countered. "I activate my Trap Card, Destruction Jammer! Now by discarding a card from my Hand, I'm allowed to negate the effects of your Dragon Cannon and destroy it."
"What?!" Chazz gasped before a clear orb encased the machine and got smaller until it imploded on itself, exploding.
"Tch… at least I got this. I'll play Card of Sanctity! Both of us draw until we have six cards in our Hand!" Both players drew. "Nice, I can use this! I'll play Double Summon to summon twice and summon Chthonian Soldier in ATK mode!" The man in dark armor, wielding a large blade appeared on the field (4) (ATK: 1200/DEF: 1400). "I'll end my turn with another facedown."
"Good, then it's my turn," Sartorius announced, drawing his next card, "I activate my Suit of Sword X Spell Card!" The Card of image of ten swords embedded in the ground appeared over Sartorius' head and started rotating.
"Not again," Chazz groaned. "What now?"
"I suggest you pay attention," the card reader announced, "If you stop it right side up, I destroy your monsters! If you stop it upside down, my monsters are destroyed instead."
Chazz decided to wait it out and then called, "Stop!" Suit of Sword X slowed down and then stopped upside down. "HA! Now your monsters are destroyed!" Soon, both Emperor and Empress exploded into pixels. "Didn't see that one coming, did you?"
"Actually, things are going just as planned," Sartorius grinned, as he played another Spell Card, "I now use Selection of Fate Spell! This will let you randomly choose one of the cards in my Hand, and if it's a Monster Card, I can Special Summon it!"
"So I have to come over there?" Chazz groaned.
"I thought we were friends," Sartorius smiled eerily as the Princeton walked over to the table, looking at the five facedown cards, "Choose your fate…"
"That one," Chazz pointed to the second card from the left.
Sartorius had a wicked grin as he flipped over the selected card and showed it to Chazz, "You have chosen the card which symbolizes you well; Arcana Force XII – The Hanged Man!" Chazz gasped as the card flashed before his eyes, making him step back. He was then looking up at a large, crystal tree with a blue, jewel–like plasma blob hanging from it. (6/ATK: 2200/DEF: 2200) Soon, another card image of the monster had started to rotate.
"If the card stops right–side up, I lose a monster and its ATK comes out of my life points. But if upside down, you lose a monster and its ATK comes out of your score!" Sartorius explained. "Now choose…"
But for some reason to Chazz, The Hanged Man started to close itself around the Slifer and made him choose in panic. "Alright, stop!" The card slowed down until it hit upside down. "No!"
"Destroy his Soldier!" the tarot reader shouted as The Hanged Man jumped to the trees above the soldier and shot of a light laser obliterating it from the field.
Chazz: 2800
Sartorius: 4000
"Now attack him directly!" He continued as his monster shot another laser, blasting Chazz to the ground and in pain.
Chazz: 600
Sartorius: 4000
"Now I shall end my turn…" the tarot reader concluded with a grin, "If you can get up, make your move. Can you overcome your fate? Overcome your true fear?"
Chazz grunted in pain getting up to his feet, "What are you talking about?"
"It's all in the cards, Mr. Princeton," Sartorius replied ominously, "The Hanged Man in the reversed position symbolizes one who cannot overcome the struggles and move forward… And that says a lot about you…"
"It does not!"
"You can't fool fate!"
"Just watch me!" Chazz shouted as he drew his next card, "I activate Cost Down which lets me discard one card in order to downgrade my Monster Cards' Levels by 2!" He stated as he discarded one of his cards, "Now it's time to make sure that all your talk is nothing! I summon Armed Dragon LV5 in attack mode!" He announced, playing his giant, spike-armored dragon. (5–3/ATK: 2400/DEF: 1500) "And then I activate my Dragon's Special Ability! I discard a Monster to the graveyard in order to destroy a monster with equal or less ATK or your field." He then revealed his lone card, "I discard Armed Dragon LV7 with 2800 ATK to destroy your Hanged Man!"
Soon, the dragon's roar made the spikes flew off its body and then fired at the Hanged Man like rockets, blowing the monster to pixels.
"And then, I'll have him attack your life points directly!"
Chazz: 600
Sartorius: 1600
"And now, I activate my Trap Level Change!" He continued, revealing his facedown card, "With this I can evolve my Armed Dragon with monster that I just sent to the Graveyard without using the normal conditions!" He then grinned as Armed Dragon glowed and grew into a heavy armored dragon that had silver armor from its face, all the way to its back with blades running down it as well. It also had blades inside its underbelly. (7/ATK: 2800/DEF: 1000) "And with no monsters, you're done! LV7, attack with Dragon Talon Terror!"
"I discard Arcana Force XIV – Temperance to negate the Damage!" Sartorius called as he revealed one his hand cards, creating a barrier around is playing area that blocked the dragon's claw. Chazz growled, "You're trying too hard, young man! Just accept your fears and you could come out the true victor!"
"Will you cut that out!?"
"If you don't believe me," Sartorius continued as he drew his next card, "Then allow me to open your eyes as I activate my Reverse Reborn Spell Card! This allows me to summon an Arcana Force Monster to the field and apply its upside down effect." He then smiled, "I believe you know which one I speak of…"
"NO!"
"Rise again, Arcana Force XII – The Hanged Man!" Once again, the tree and jewel–like monster appeared again, looming over Chazz as he felt no escape. (6/ATK: 2200/DEF: 2200) "And since the upside down is in play when Summoned, you lose your monster and the rest of your life points!"
Chazz could only watch helplessly as his Armed Dragon was blasted to bits by the jewel–like blob's laser, effectively ending the game.
Chazz: 0
Sartorius: 1600
When that happened, the Hanged Man grabbed Chazz and held him by his legs. Then the Ojama Spirits appeared…
"Oh no! Boss! We'll save you!" Yellow shouted. "Come on, boys!"
All the Ojama Spirits charged in… but only to be shattered by Sartorius' power with the eyes glowing purple…
Sartorius then walked off, leaving The Hanged Man continuing to infuse a dark light into the Slifer…
After a while, Sartorius returned to inside the plane after it took off from Duel Academy and sat at his chair where Orma was waiting for him. "I trust you have been successful?" He said.
"Of course I did." Sartorius chuckled as he placed his cards down. Sartorius smirked as he drew another card. The Hanged Man. "The Hanged Man's soul is mine!" He said. "Isn't that right, Chazz?" If you looked at it more clearly, the Hanged Man's picture was replaced by Chazz's face!
When Sartorius laid the card down, another card slipped from the table and fell. It was the Wheel of Fortune, but… he looked surprised.
"What's wrong?" Orma asked.
"The Wheel of Fortune is in reverse!" He gasped. "The tide is turning!"
TWF: And due to that, Chazzter has seen the Light.
Fen: Even that was predictable.
TWF: Everybody anticipated the outcome, dude.
Fen: But next chapter is what everyone's really anticipating! :D
TWF: Yep, that's right! We'll be able to learn something due to the incident that Kurogasa had during his comatose state. Be sure to anticipate the next chapter!
Fen: Actually, you know what? Why wait? Let's make this a double feature! Head on over to the next chapter now!
