I moved my couch the other day, and unsurprisingly, I found a family of dust bunnies that had taken up residence. As I was vacuuming, an idea started to wiggle its way into the back of my mind, but killer dust bunnies aren't as funny as what else happened during Stephanie's move to Haywood.

*A quick warning... This one's a little gross if you think about it too much!

As always, any characters you recognize belong to JE. All mistakes are mine. Thank you all so much for the reviews, you really know how to make a girl smile! :-)

Stephanie Plum was the happiest woman alive. Once she admitted to Carlos that she loved him, they spent all of their time together. When he asked her to move into his apartment on seven, she knew without a doubt that there was nowhere she'd rather be.

She spent the day boxing up her belongings before the guys from Rangeman came over to collect them. Her living room was filled with boxes in three different categories, keep, dump, or donate. She was filling the last box when there was a knock on the door.

The last people she expected to see were her mother and grandmother. They brushed past her and into the sea of boxes. Her mother beamed at her. "Mrs. Bestler called your grandmother and told her you were moving out. I'm so glad you came to your senses and decided to move in with Joseph. Should we plan on a spring wedding?"

Stephanie didn't even bother with the mental part, she just slapped herself on her forehead. "Mother, I'm not moving in with Joe. I broke up with him. I'm moving in with Ranger and we're not getting married anytime soon."

Her mother sucked in a breath. "You most certainly are not. What will the neighbors think if you're living in sin with that man? You can just stay right here until you fix things with Joe." She opened the first box she could lay her hands on and reached in. Of course it was a 'dump' box, and with Stephanie's luck it was the one box that she would never want anyone to see. Her mother's hand came out of the box holding Herbert Horsecock. Her eyes were as wide as saucers.

Before she could put it back in the box, Edna grabbed it. "Well isn't this a hoot. I've never seen one this big before. It looks like it could split a girl in half."

Stephanie wished with all her might that the ground would open up and swallow her whole. When that didn't happen, she tried to explain. "Lula made me buy that. It's still in the packaging. I never used it. I was trying to apprehend a fugitive, I swear." Her mother didn't say anything, she just stood there with her mouth hanging open.

Edna looked at her daughter. "Oh, snap out of it. It's not like you don't have one in your nightstand. Yours just isn't this big." With that, Helen crashed to the floor, unconscious.

Edna woke Helen up with a glass of cold water. She sat on Stephanie's floor muttering, "Why me?" keeping her face buried in her hands. On the brighter side, she forgot all about the lecture she was giving her daughter. Once Stephanie got them out of the apartment, she closed the box back up. When she realized that Herbert was no longer in the box, she just shuddered and put even more packing tape over the top.

Once she was done packing, she called Rangeman. A half hour later all of her favorite merry men showed up, and twenty minutes after that, her apartment was empty. Carlos offered to send Ella over to do the final cleaning, but Stephanie wanted to finish it herself. It was the end of an era for her. Besides, she didn't want Ella to see just how many dust bunnies were living under her bed and in her closet.

On Friday, Carlos and Stephanie went to dinner at Stephanie's parents house. Her mother had made it more of an order than a request, and she knew that she would have to go sooner or later. Dinner went better than she had expected it to. Her mother only asked Carlos three times when they were getting married, and nobody fired a weapon.

After dinner, Edna cornered Stephanie in the kitchen. "Where was the store that you got that toy from? I wouldn't mind getting one of my own."

Stephanie looked at her grandmother. "I thought you took the one from my apartment."

Edna shook her head. "Nah, that one was too big for me. I put it back in the box. I think I need something a little smaller."

Stephanie was never, ever going to look at her mother the same way again.
