Home…right?

Frisk and Asriel held hands as the light got unbearable. Frisk had squeezed her eyes so tight that she never noticed the dull light of the sun. "Frisk, you can open your eyes you know!" Asriel softly said to Frisk. Frisk slowly opened her eyes and looked up at Asriel. His green eyes were now a duller colour, a faded eucalyptus. He looked weaker, more vulnerable on the surface. Frisk gave an inquisitive look. Asriel looked confused. His sweater was now a faded grey and white. Something was wrong, very wrong

"Where's your home Frisk?" Asriel inquired

"Huh, oh…don't have one, should I?" Frisk was distracted by this slightly paler and faded Asriel. She continued to think, suddenly realising what was going on. Chara's soul…it was slowly killing Asriel. "Asriel are you feeling alright? You look a little…pale…" Frisk was now worried, if Asriel died, she would have nobody. She couldn't let that happen. "Yes, is there something in particular you mean? Apart from the fact that I have white fur…" Asriel looked like he was explaining to a toddler. Frisk blushed red. Asriel's eyes went duller, "Anyways, we should look around, what's it like on the surface?" Asriel seemed determined to get off of this strange topic. Asriels eyes seemed to look around at everything with a newfound curiosity. It was like watching a little kid observing everything, with a newfound innocence. Frisk was lost in thought when Asriel pulled her arm, "Let's go Frisk!" Definitely a young child…

As they made the treacherous trek down the mountain, Asriel stopped. He seemed to not know what to do. Frisk called his name and he snapped back out of his trance. They continued to descend, painstakingly slowly. Although he tried to cover up his obviously sickness with, "I'm fine Frisk!" Frisk wasn't buying any of it. Asriel started to look uneasy as they reached the bottom, so Frisk decided that they should just rest. Asriel didn't argue as he leaned up against a Cyprus tree. The cool shade was a refreshing change from the overbearing sun. Frisk glanced over at Asriel and saw that he was regaining a tiny bit of his colour. His eyes were back to their normal emerald green. Maybe Frisk just over reacted.

"Ready to keep going Frisk?" Asriel looked up at her with his emerald gaze. Frisk swiftly nodded, eager to continue forwards. Ariel grinned and helped her up. As he looked over at her she quickly hid something behind her back. It was another needle of DETERMINATION…. She brought it with her just in case. Asriel of course wasn't aware of this. Hey, it was just in case anyways…. What could go wrong? Asriel blankly stared at Frisk, waiting for her to catch up. She put the needle in her back pocket. "God you're slow Frisk, learn to keep up!" Asriel insulted

"We aren't all as fit as you…" Frisk heaved. She felt like collapsing. Soon they reached the forest surrounding Mount Ebott and her legs gave way beneath her. She looked up at Asriel, slight smirk on her lips. He looked down at her in disgust. "Why are you just sitting around Frisk? We have places to go!"

"Like where? Let's face it, we have nowhere to go! We might as well as stayed in the underground!" She dusted off her shorts as she stood up. Asriel's back was facing a river. Frisk advanced on him and he moved backwards, drawing closer to his watery fate. Asriel looked confused. Frisk looked victorious as she pushed Asriel into the river. As soon as he hit the water she starting laughing. His face was priceless! He re surfaced and gasped for air. "FRISK!" And with that, he pulled her in as well. She squealed as she hit the ice cold water. She slowly dragged herself out, wet clothes clinging to her skin, and shot a murderous glare at Asriel, he just laughed harder. She felt in her pocket, the needle was still there, so far so good!

As Asriel mucked around in the river for some more, Frisk started to dry off. Her boots were still full of water though, so she took them off. She felt so much heavier with this water on top of her. She glared at Asriel again, who didn't seem to notice or care. Frisk sighed in irritation and started playing with some sticks in the mud. She picked up a rock and threw it Asriel, earning a scowl. He glanced over at her and she gestured at her wrist. Asriel looked at her confused, he didn't understand what she meant. She sighed loudly and then explained, "Get out of the water…It is time to leave!" Frisk was looking more bored than ever. Asriel matched her gaze as he took forever to leave the water, deliberately. By the time he was out of the water Frisk laughed in triumph! "Victory!" She shouted. Asriel just stared at her.

As they trudged through the forest, it started to get darker. Soon it was too late to keep moving. Asriel, being able to see in the dark, wanted to keep moving. Frisk, who couldn't, wanted to stop. They finally agreed to stay near a large tree. Asriel, who had learnt from Toriel, had started as fire with a fireball, much like his mothers. He looked over at Frisk, who was starting to look tired. Asriel silently chuckled at her tired expression. But when she was asleep all the memories started to come back.

It was a quiet night, Asriel and Chara were just sitting outside, staring up at the moon and stars through the mountain. Chara looked over at Asriel and whispered, "Asriel, if anything happens to me, please promise me that you will look after mum and dad? Please?" She looked at Asriel for a response. His eyes were watery and he barely managed to hold back a sob. He reluctantly nodded his head. She grinned and they continued staring at the stars. He had never thought that it would be him to kill Chara…
