Hello everyone! I hope you all are having a fantastic day! I have kept you waiting much too long for this chapter, so here it is! I hope you all enjoy it and I will see you at the bottom of the page! :)

I wasn't going to stop running until I got to the gates of the castle, and that is exactly what I did. The more I thought about what had just happened, the faster I ran, and the more tired I became. I had been running so fast that I ended up tripping and falling in front of the gates, gripping the bars as I tried to catch my breath. I looked up as the sun started to set over the castle.

"Macy! Goodness I had no clue you could run that fast. You lost me at the cobbler's shop!" Robbie said as he balanced his hands on his knees so he could catch his breath.

"Honestly, I didn't know I could run that fast either." I replied.

"Who were those people at the haunted chateau?" He asked as he held out his hand to pull me up off the ground. I got up and brushed the dirt off the bottom of my dress, wiping away a tear as I did so. I told him about my aunt and grandmother not being the greatest of people, and as I finished, he seemed surprised.

"I can't believe someone could be so mean." He said as we sat down on a bench outside of the gates. I needed a moment to compose myself before I went back inside. I was torn whether to tell my mother what had happened or not. I had no clue how she would react. I saw it two ways: she would either understand that I didn't know they lived there and tell me not to go there again, or she would get so mad that I didn't leave right away and ground me.

"I'm sure everything will turn out just fine." Robbie said as he tried to reassure me. I tried desperately to believe him.

"Do you want to stay for dinner? You know, just for some help in case I need it." I asked.

"Absolutely." He said with a smile. We entered the gates if the palace grounds and headed inside to the castle. When we got inside my mother was already waiting for us.

"Perfect timing you two! I was just on my way to the dining room." She said. Robbie went on in front of me, and it was just then that my mother noticed my dress.

"Say no more, mom. I'm going to go change right now." I told her. I started to head up the stairs before she stopped me.

"How did you even get all that dirt and mud on your skirt anyway?" She asked.

"I um, tripped and fell into a puddle." I told her. She didnt seem to completely buy my answer, but it was enough to get me by. I ran upstairs to my bedroom, changing my dress and fixing my hair.

"Good gracious! Macy! Your dress is very stained!" Mary said as she observed the dress that was now thrown on my bed.

"Yes it is. Do you think it will come out?" I asked her as I tied my hair up in a ribbon.

"I believe with enough treatment it will. How did you get this much mud on your dress?" She asked.

"Alright, alright. I was running away from my grandmother and Aunt Drizella. I had no clue that they lived in that house and when they spotted me I ran. When I got the the gates of the castle I tripped and fell in the mud." I explained to her. I figured someone might as well know the truth.

"They saw you?!" She said as she turned her attention from my dress to me.

"Does 'you can't run forever, Macy' count as they saw me?" I said as I turned around to face the little mouse. The dinner bell rung and I curtsied as a goodbye. I ran down the stairs to the dining room and quickly sat down before my father entered the room and realized that I was late. I was happy that Robbie stayed for dinner that night. He saved me from stuttering several times when my mother asked me where all we had gone that day.

"Thank you so much for helping me through tonight. My parents would have surely found out eventually if you hadn't been there to cover me." I told Robbie as I walked him to the front doors of the castle.

"It was absolutely no problem." He said. We stood there for a moment in silence due to my lack of skill with talking to boys.

"Well, I suppose I better turn in before my mother finds out I'm still awake." I said.

"That's probably best." He replied. He kissed me on the cheek goodnight, and I headed upstairs to get ready for bed. When I came into my bedroom, I found Jaq and Gus sitting on my vanity playing with a grape that I had left, and Mary was sitting on my bed mending the hem of one of my dresses.

"I still cannot believe they saw you. Did you tell your mother?" Mary asked even though she didn't look up at me. I quietly closed my bedroom door and fell back on my bed. I hadn't realized how tired I truly was until I took a deep breath and closed my eyes.

"I didn't tell her. I thought it best that she not know. She will only get mad and if I never go there again she will never know." I said, not even opening my eyes with my response.

"Macy, she will find out eventually and you know it." She said. I didn't want to believe that she was right. My mother would never go around my aunt and her step-mother again, so as long as I didn't say anything about it, she would never know that they saw me. There was no flaw in this plan, or was there?

Well, there is chapter 9! Do you think Macy will get caught by her parents, or will someone else turn her in? I hope you enjoyed this chapter! Remember to R and R and follow/favorite!

Shoutouts:

Emilia1987: Thank you very much! I am so glad that you see Cinderella the same way I do! I was hoping that she would come across just as sweet and caring as she was in the movies to everyone who read this story! I hope you enjoyed this chapter! :)

Anonymous: I understand what you are saying, but I see things a little bit differently and I would like to share with you why I wrote this story the way I did to clear the confusion. :) 1) I know Bruno historically would be much older, but I wasn't quite ready to get rid of him yet, so I didn't. 2) The Grand Duke in the second Cinderella movie called her Miss and Princess at different times, so I continued using either one to keep his character the same. 3) Lastly, Cinderella didn't start etiquette lessons until she was 19, and even then she ignored them and did things her own way. I believed Cinderella would give her daughter the same opportunity to grow up and become who she was meant to be without influence, and then when she was old enough she would teach her everything she needed to know. If you have any more questions feel free to let me know! :) Thank you for reviewing! :)

Well, that is all for tonight everyone! Until next time my dears! :)
