(A/N): For those of you who have a favorite team of Pokémon that you'd like to see appear, good news. So long as you have left 2 or more reviews you can submit a team. Only thing is that you can't use any legendary Pokémon. At least not any of the BIG legendary ones, things like Azelf would be alright. The important thing is that you MUST have left 2 reviews before you can submit a team, via PM please.
Chapter 9
Iris sat on the bench out behind the PokéCenter as she waited for Ceres. Both Fay and Ciro were sitting with her. Tina and the others would be arriving shortly and Ceres was out in the front of the Center waiting for them. Due to the fact that there was to be a match soon, and that her family had appeared, Nurse Joy had let Fay off early for the day. Eve was sitting in Iris' lap looking over at the Poochyena that was asleep on Fay. Curious as its owner Eve got up and walked over to the sleeping Pokémon.
"Did you miss me to Eve?" Fay intercepted the Eevee by scratching Eve on her head. Completely distracted from what she had been about to do, Eve sat in the space between Iris and Fay letting the nurse pet her. "So Iris since you're taking Eve with you does that mean you have Frosty to?"
"Of course!" Iris reached into her bag and produced the Poké Ball that housed the Ice Eeveelution. "Ceres said I should keep her in her Poké Ball so that people don't try and steal her since a Glaceon isn't native to Clestia."
"Ceres makes a good point," Fay nodded her head in agreement with her cousin. Iris' face drooped, she'd clearly been wanting her sister to agree with her so that she could have Frosty walking alongside her as they traveled. "But that doesn't mean she has to stay in her Poké Ball all the time. You can let her out tonight after the match."
Sympathetic to her sister's plight Fay knew what it was like to have your partner stuck in a small capsule while you walked around, putting Wisp into a Poké Ball annoyed Fay. With her free hand Fay was gently stroking Shade who was still fast asleep. One of the things she had loved to find out when she came to the Center was that Shade and Wisp would be able to remain out of their Poké Balls, so long as Shade stayed close to Fay. Poochyena weren't exactly known for being the kindest Pokémon out there after all. Wisp needed no supervision as it was more of a healing Pokémon and could assist Nurse Joy's Chansey.
"Ciro!" Iris randomly blurted out as something popped into her mind. "Show Fay what you caught back at home."
"Alright," taking the Poké Ball off of his belt Ciro pressed the button to cause the item to grow, "come on out Vesta." A flash of light and Ciro's newest Pokémon Fennekin appeared.
"Fen!" Vesta proclaimed angrily when it looked up and spotted Eve getting all the attention once again. Hopping up Vesta landed on Shade which caused the Bite Pokémon to get up and start growling at the thing that had disturbed its nap. In a matter of seconds after being released from its Poké Ball Vesta had cause a small brawl to break out between it and the other four legged Pokémon.
"Return," with a heavy sigh Ciro recalled Vesta back into her Poké Ball. With the cause of the fighting removed both Eve and Shade leapt back up into the laps of their respective partners. "She seems to have it out for Eve for some reason. Even Min can't get it out of her why she hates Eve so much, either that or she thinks that I should know the answer and refuses to tell me. "
"The second one," both sisters answered. Nodding his head Ciro put Vesta's Poké Ball back on his belt.
Before any other antics could happen Ceres came out from the PokéCenter followed by Tina and the others. Immediately Iris got up and rushed over to Pris, she was understandably excited that her sister and best friend would finally get to meet. While not as fast as the red head, Ciro also got up to go and greet the new arrivals, Fay on the other hand sat quietly on the bench in a vain attempt to not draw attention to herself. With Iris as her sister, this was nothing more than an effort in futility.
Without explanation Iris grabbed Pris' hand and started pulling over to Fay. Accustomed to this Pris wasn't even caught off balance at the sudden motion. With both girls standing in front of her Fay couldn't exactly ignore their presence. Weakly she waved at Pris as she put on a shy smile. The pale brown haired girl waved back just as shyly. Groaning at both her sister and her friend Iris knew that she would have to be the one to speak up or neither of them was going to say anything.
"Pris, this is my older sister Fay. Fay, this is my best friend Pris." With introductions done for them both girls seemed to relax a little. Still, they weren't the type to up and speak even after being introduced. Narrowing her eyes Iris looked back and forth at them. "Alright, one of you two is going to have to say SOMEthing."
"Nice to m-meet you Pris," Fay stood up, putting Shade down on the ground, and held out her hand.
"Y-you to," Pris returned the handshake. Not satisfied with such a weak greeting Iris hugged both girls, bringing the two strangers closer together than they would have liked had they been left to their own devices. Having been around Iris long enough, they knew better than to fight against the hyperactive teen, it'd only result in hurting her feelings which was something neither Fay nor Pris wanted.
"OH!" Iris exclaimed as she was still hugging them. The sudden loud noise caused both Fay and Pris to shake out of shock. "Pris, you have to tell Fay about that thing that you can do. You see my sister's a nurse here at the center, but you could probably tell by her outfit, so I'm sure she'd like to know about your powers and you can finally tell me about them."
"Iris Fuco," Fay scolded in a manner that showed which of her parents she took after. Able to pull herself away from Iris who had loosened her grip Fay looked down at Iris over the top of her glasses. "You should put people on the spot like that. I know you don't have a problem with the spotlight but others don't feel that way." Realizing that she had gone into an older sister mode and drawn the attention of Pris and the other Fay's face lit up bright red. Pushing up her glasses, even though they didn't need it, Fay turned away so that she couldn't see everyone else.
"Sorry Pris," Iris laughed awkwardly. "Didn't mean to do that to you."
"It's fine," Pris smiled knowing that her friend hadn't meant any harm and had simply gotten carried away.
"Now that we've gotten that out of the way, can we get our match started?" Ceres asked looking over at Tina.
"Now hold on," Ciro interrupted. "We haven't introduced Tina and Kefka."
"You're right," Ceres rolled her eyes as she agreed with her brother. "Fayette. This girl next to me is Tina, the guy's Kefka. There, she knows their names. Can we get on with this? I want to put Tina in her place as soon as possible."
"Your lack of social graces is amazing," Tina commented. Having seen that Fay was like her own sister when it came to meeting new people Tina walked over to the still blushing Fay and spoke in a calm manner. "Hi, I'm Tina. I'm Pris' older sister, it's nice to meet you Fayette."
"J-just Fa-Fay is fine." Her voice was quiet and she was looking down at the ground but Tina was able to pick out the words just fine.
"And I'm Kefka," the last member of the other group said to the silver haired girl. There was plenty of space between him and Fay. With three others surrounding her, two of them strangers, Fay was thankful that Kefka had kept a distance.
"My younger brother," Tina added rubbing it in Kefka's face that she was the one that had come out first making her the "older" sibling. Turning away from Fay and to Ceres, "Now that we've been kind enough to introduce ourselves we can get on with me kicking your butt. Only problem is I don't see a ref around here."
"T-t-that would be my j-job," Fay spoke up. "As a nurse I was trained to call matches."
"Let's get this show on the road then," Ceres walked over to the battlefield that she had been able to reserve for the fight.
In the cases of PokéCenters, the field behind them was built with trainers using it to fight in mind. There was a large flat area devoid of any vegetation, a white rectangle spray painted on the ground. A line cut the box in half and two smaller boxes were drawn on the short side of the rectangle. It was the standard shape for a Pokémon battle ground. Both Tina and Ceres headed to opposite sides of the field while the others took their spots on the benches. Fay stood between the two benches and was ready to call the match when one of the contestant's Pokémon had fainted, or at least was too injured to be able to fight back.
Battle:
Hardheaded Girl Ceres vs. Beauty Tina
"Time for a warm up Bahamut." Tina tossed a yellow and white Poké Ball with a blue line around the center, a Park Ball. After the release of light from the Park Ball, the energy took the shape of a long serpentine Pokémon. Its head and back were covered in blue scales and it had a white underbelly. Sporting a small white horn on its head, this Pokémon also had a stylized wing on either side of its head, each white and curving into a swirl. There was one blue orb on its neck while two were attached near the end of its tail. This was Tina's Dragonair, Bahamut.
"Let's show them what we're made of Kirlia!" Ceres tossed out a normal red and white Poké Ball. Her starting partner appeared in a flash of white energy. Kirlia stood with its arms up ready to fight the pure Dragon-type Pokémon.
"At least you were smart enough to call out your Fairy-type." Taunting her opponent was a simple matter and fun for Tina.
"Alright Kirlia let's show Tina her words don't affect us. Start things off with a Calm Mind!" Kirlia closed his eyes and glowed blue while he attempted to boost his power.
"As if we'd let you get that off. Bahamut strike with Thunderbolt." Uncoiling itself the Dragonair fly up higher into the sky. Electricity gathered on the horn atop its head. Pointing the white horn at Kirlia, Bahamut sent out a powerful Thunderbolt attack. Shooting through the air the lightning powered move made its way to Kirlia who was still in the midst of using Calm Mind. As the blue glow faded around the Psychic/Fairy he was struck with the attack.
Staggering backwards Kirlia shook off the residual lightning and once again stood at the ready, waiting for Ceres to give another order. Since Calm Mind's effect had been activated Bahamut's Thunderbolt hadn't hurt Kirlia as much as it normally would have.
"Now Psychic," Ceres commanded her partner. Psychic blue energy surrounded Ceres' Kirlia and Tina's Dragonair. Lifting its arms up into the air Kirlia tried to control the movements of Dragonair. What damage Psychic inflicted wasn't from physically hurting the opponent, but from the struggle between the two minds of the user and target. As Bahamut floated in the air and struggled to break free from Kirlia's mental attack, it was draining its own energy in this attempt. If that wasn't bad enough the Psychic user could slam the opponent into objects causing both physical and mental damage.
"Bahamut calm down." Already used to dealing with Psychic types Tina knew what she needed to get her Pokémon to do. "Focus and use Flamethrower." Heeding his partner's words Bahamut stopped struggling as much and Kirlia's hold on the Dragon clearly weakened as it attempted to break free of the mental control. Flames gathered in the orb on Bahamut's neck as the blue light of the Psychic attack faded.
Once Bahamut had broken free from the holds of Psychic it flew straight down to the ground pulling upwards at the last second. Flying just above the ground Bahamut looked like it was slithering instead. The fire that it had gathered in its orb transferred to the Dragonair's mouth before unleashing the jet of flames on Kirlia.
"Teleport Kirlia!" Ceres called out when she saw the flames coming near her Pokémon. Flickering for a few seconds Kirlia tried to obey the command but it had come too late. Red flames washed over Kirla as he took the Flamethrower full force.
"Follow it up with Return!" As the fire attack dissipated Kirlia had almost no time to recover as the slender looking body of Bahamut slammed full force into him. All the speed that the Dragonair had gathered while flying towards Kirlia when it had used Flamethrower had become power for it during the Return attack. Tina had Dragonair for a while and a strong bond had formed between the two which only caused the damage dealt by its last move to be even greater.
After suffering the strength of the bond between Trainer and Pokémon, Kirlia was lying on the ground motionless. Bahamut hovered in the air waiting to see if its opponent was going to get up. Ceres stood still on her side of the field as she too waited to see if Kirlia was going to be getting up. A few tense seconds passed before the match was decided for sure.
"Kirlia is unable to battle," Fay's voice cut through the air, "Tina and Bahamut are the winners."
"Return." Ceres held out Kirlia's Poké Ball, a beam of red light shot out from the middle and called the Pokémon back to the sphere. "I thought we could win," she apologized to the container in her hand before she shrunk it back down and placed the Ball on the belt of her skirt.
"Please," Tina scoffed at Ceres, "you didn't stand a chance." There was a large sense of know-it-allism coming from the older girl. "Even knowing that I was going to be using Bahamut, you didn't take the time to plan an attack. Kirlia could have won if you'd taken advantage of his Teleport sooner. My Bahamut may have been faster but with Teleport Kirlia could have kept his distance and never would have had to worry about the Return attack. Put simply, you lack real experience." Holding out the Park Ball, Tina recalled Bahamut and placed the Ball back at her waist.
Ceres didn't say anything back, she didn't so much as look in Tina's direction as she went back to the bench where the others were sitting. Ciro patted his sister's back in an attempt to comfort her. With her arms folded Ceres looked away from the others as she went through the battle in her head trying to figure out what she could have done differently to have won. Sure she was down that she had lost to Tina in their first match but she wasn't going to refuse to learn from her mistake.
"Alrighty then!" Iris proclaimed as she hopped off the bench. Holding out Frosty's Poké Ball she pointed the object over at Pris. "Let's have a match Pris."
"Um Iris, are you sure?" Pris sounded a little unsure as she spoke. "Both Gooey and Nimbus are weak to Frosty."
"Oh," Iris blinked in realization.
"You should do it Pris," Tina encouraged her sister. "Type advantage isn't everything and it'll be good for both you and Iris to experience a real battle."
"Alright," some confidence leaked into Pris' voice. Both girls moved to the battlefield and held out their Poké Balls. Eve, who didn't want to be away from Iris, ran over and plopped down next to the red head.
Battle:
Coordinator Iris vs. Lass Pris
"Do you best Gooey!" Tossing a Cherish Ball, a Poké Ball that's almost pure red with black on the side, was tossed into the battlefield unleashing Pris' little Goomy.
"Frosty, you're up!" Iris tossed the normal Poké Ball out onto the field.
The little Goomy and Glaceon appeared on either side of the field. Gooey didn't look very threatening as it stood on Pris' side of the field, it didn't seem to really understand that it had been called out to battle. Frosty, who was happy to be out of the Poké Ball, also seemed a little lost when it spotted the Pokémon across from it.
"We're battling Pris and Gooey today Frosty. We need to show them what you're made of!" Iris cheered on her partner. Understanding the situation now the Glaceon lowered itself into a battle stance and glared at its opponent.
"Did you hear that Gooey? We're battling today. I know that Frosty is an Ice-type but I believe that you can win."
"GOO!" The little Goomy replied, excited that it was getting a chance to show off its strength.
"Ice Beam," Iris ordered once she was sure that both Pokémon were ready for the match actually.
Opening its mouth Frosty gathered the energy needed for the attack, a blue sphere of ice power gathered in front of the Glaceon's mouth. Quickly the sphere turned into a beam of ice energy that went straight for Gooey.
"Jump out of the way!' Pris called out. Doing exactly that, Gooey launched itself into the air. "Now use Dragon Breath."
Blue flames gathered in the mouth of the Goomy. Iris wasn't too worried, it wasn't that long ago that the two of them were still having troubles with the move. She was wrong not to worry. A steady, powerful, stream of blue fire shot out of Gooey's mouth. Not prepared for the attack to be so strong Frosty was hit with the full force of the Dragon-type attack. Despite being strong against Dragon-types, Ice-types didn't resist Dragon. Frosty was blown back by the attack when it hit, knocking her down onto her side.
"Common Frosty, get up," Iris cheered for her Glaceon.
"Gla," Frosty responded by getting up onto all fours.
Gooey landed and attempted to growl threateningly, it was more cute than scary though. Rather than respond by growling itself, Frosty sat on its haunches and looked like it didn't have a care in the world.
"Oh Frosty," Iris sighed at her Pokémon, it had clearly spent too much time with Mika's Umbreon. "Let's go with Blizzard this time!"
Again opening its mouth Frosty let out a blast of freezing cold air, small snowballs accompanying the wind. A concentrated blizzard was a very cold and powerful attack, when used by a Pokémon that had truly mastered it. Still a bit shy of being able to say they had mastered it, Frosty's Blizzard died down before the Glaceon had actually wanted it to. Still, the icy wind had managed to reach the Goomy which was sent reeling from the blast.
"Are you okay Gooey?" Worried that the Dragon had taken a lot of damage from the attack Pris wanted to make sure that her partner was able to continue. Bouncing up and down, showing that it was ready, Gooey waited for more orders. "Okay, use Rock Slide then."
White rings appeared in the air above Gooey. Out of these rings, grey stones fell, heading in the direction of Frosty. A little drained from the half-failed Blizzard, Frosty did its best to avoid the falling rocks.
"Use your Barrier Frosty!" After avoiding one of the rocks Frosty stood still and its Barrier appeared around it, the same one that it had used against the Zoroark back in the forest. Falling rocks pounded against the barrier that the Glaceon was projecting but not a one of them was getting through. Soon they stopped falling and Frosty dropped the shield.
"Quickly, Absorb!" Gooey shot a red beam at Frosty who was still in the midst of dropping the Barrier. Caught off guard by the attack, Frosty had some of its energy stolen by the attack.
"Not so fast Pris, Frosty hurry and use your Ice Beam." While it was still being drained by the Absorb attack Frosty launched another Ice Beam at Gooey. The light blue beam pierced the red one and went right into Gooey's opened mouth. Gooey's slime started to turn to ice as it was blasted by the attack and the Dragon-type was soon turned into a popsicle.
"Gooey is unable to battle, Frosty and Iris are the winners!" Fay declared.
"That was a good match," Iris said to Pris with a large smile on her face. Recalling Frosty into its Poké Ball Iris ran over to her friend who had rushed over to her Goomysicle.
"It was," Pris agreed a little sad that she had lost and that her partner had been frozen. Placing the Cherish Ball on the block of ice she recalled the Pokémon trapped inside.
"Now," Iris' eyes homed in on Ciro. "I think Ciro and Kefka should fight!" The mentioned guys both raised their eyebrows as if to question the girl. "Everyone else has fought, and Fay can't cause she's the ref."
"It's do you some good to get a match in," Ceres told her brother. "You and Min need more experience than Kirlia and I."
"I suppose you're right." Ciro conceded before an argument could really be made. "How about it Kefka, you up for a match?"
"I might as well," Kefka replied. As Iris and Pris got off the field the only two boys of the group moved to it.
Battle:
Pokémon Trainer Ciro vs. Mystic Man Kefka
"Let's make this quick Jonathan." There was no sure fire cockyness in Kefka's voice, more like he wanted this battle to be over with. A Poké Ball that was white on both top and bottom with a around the middle was tossed into the air, it was a Premier Ball. A four legged Pokémon covered in white fur appeared on the field. It had a ruff around its neck and chest and a tuft on the top of its head adorned with a single blue-black oval. Red eyes stared while a scythe-like tail fluttered in the breeze. On the side of the Pokémon's head was sickle-shaped horn. Kefka's Absol, Jonathan, was ready for the fight.
At the same time that Kefka had called out his Absol, Ciro had tossed the standard Poké Ball to the field shouting, "Let's do this Min!" Much to Ciro's dismay he hadn't thought about the fact that of Kefka's two Pokémon, one of them was a pure Dark-type.
You really didn't think this through did you? Min shook her head sadly when she spotted her opponent on the other side of the field. Of his two Pokémon I suffer a disadvantage to both. True his Beldum only knows Take Down but it does resist my own attacks. Sending out your new Fennekin would have been a far better choice.
"I don't need you telling me that," Ciro moaned knowing full well the mistake he had made. While Kirlia was part Fairy, covering her Psychic weakness to Dark, she currently knew no Fairy-type moves. In fact, Min's only attack was Confusion which Absol was immune to.
Kefka took one look at Min standing on the field. With a raised eyebrow he asked, "So, she learn Moonblast recently or something?"
"No," Ciro replied dejectedly. "She doesn't learn any Fairy attacks until she evolves into Gardevoir."
"Not true Ciro," Ceres commented from the sidelines, "a Kirlia can learn Dazzling Gleam via a TM."
"Problem is neither of us HAVE that." Knowing that it was possible wasn't exactly helpful right now. Even if they did have the TM on them at the moment, it wasn't like Ciro could stop the match to have Kirlia practice it.
"Do you want to call the match?" Fay quietly asked.
It'd be the smart thing to do. With no effective attacks this battle would be one-sided. Min addressed Ciro with her normal calmness.
"I thi-" Ciro got ready to admit defeat when Min interrupted him.
However. Can we really admit defeat in our first real battle? I trust that you'll find a way for me to beat this Absol. Looking back over her shoulder Min nodded her head as she got ready to fight a battle she had almost no hope of winning.
"Can't disappoint you then can I?" Nodding back at his partner Ciro started to think of what he was going to be able to do to help Min win the fight. He was going to need to keep her out of Kefka's Absol's way until he was able to come up with a plan. Double Team and Teleport would be able to help out but Min wouldn't be able to keep doing them forever, she'd tire out first that way.
"Jonathan, Bite." Kefka commanded. Without hesitation the Absol took off straight for Min who stood calmly waiting for her instructions. She was placing everything on Ciro for this battle, without his command she wasn't going to do a thing.
"Teleport out of the way," Ciro instructed just as Jonathan leapt towards his target. The Kirlia soon turned into a faded image before disappearing completely, the Disaster Pokémon caught himself before he face planted.
"Pursuit." One word was all Kefka needed to get his Absol to obey him. It was unsure how exactly Jonathan was able to predict where Min would appear at, it might have something to do with an Absol's ability to predict natural disasters, but the second Min appeared off to Jonathan's left the Dark-type Pokémon plowed into her.
"Min!" Ciro called out in alarm as his Kirlia flew through the air to land at the edge of the battlefield. Slowly Min got back up, she'd taken a nice amount of damage from the attack. Pursuit was a move that dealt more damage to Pokémon that were retreating, such as using Teleport.
Jonathan and Kefka weren't going to give Min time to recover though, Jonathan was already running towards Min as she was in the middle of getting up. Seeing the Absol charging at her Min jumped up and over making a safe landing on the other side of her opponent.
Normally you're supposed to give orders like "Dodge" at times like those. This time Min was nice enough to only talk with Ciro when pointing out his flaws.
Just how are she supposed to be able to damage him? Ciro thought to himself, slightly ignoring the advice of his partner. With Confusion as her only attack she won't be able to hurt him and if I don't think of something she's just going to get hurt. Doubts about agreeing to go on with the fight even though he had no plan were getting to Ciro as Min kept dodging the attacks that Jonathan was throwing her way. Kefka wasn't calling out any moves, the Absol was simply going after the Kirlia with its claws and teeth.
"Double Team, try to buy some time." As she avoided another slash of claws from Jonathan Min created the images of Double Team and soon these illusions of her were running around her foe, creating confusion as to which was the real Kirlia.
"Won't work," Kefka sighed. "Use Aerial Ace." The blade on Absol's head started to glow with the energy of the attack. By the time the blade had turned pure white with power, Jonathan was ready to unleash his Aerial Ace. Spinning in a circle the gather power was unleashed slashing through all the Min illusions at once and of course hitting the real one. A Flying-type move that was able to bypass all attempts at evasion, Aerial Ace.
Ciro scanned the battlefield to see where Min had landed, dust had been kicked up from the winds that had accompanied the attack. Using his mental connection to her he was able to pinpoint her location even though he couldn't see her. When the dust cleared Cir bit his lip in frustration, Min was sprawled out on one of the rocks that had once been part of Gooey's Rock Slide. However, Min wasn't down and out just yet.
Have you… figured it out yet? Min asked as she pushed herself up. Confused Ciro tried to figure out what his partner was hinting at. From the way she was talking and how sure she was before the battle he had the feeling that she knew of a way to deal some damage to their opponent but she was waiting for Ciro to draw the same conclusion that she had.
I haven't Min, I'm sorry but I don't see what it is that can help us win this battle. Apologizing Ciro hung his head and was seriously debating whether or not he should call the match now rather than let Min get hurt anymore.
Think back, remember my moves and what they are able to do. The dust that had been offering her cover was now gone and Jonathan was waiting patiently in the middle of where the cloud had been.
"Finish this, Slash." Kefka, who had already wanted the match to be over, was now well and truly bored with this one sided fight.
Thinking back to the last time that he had gone through her moves Ciro tried to think of what any of them could do to help them. Heal Pulse wouldn't be useful, it can't be used on her Pokémon using it. Teleport and Double Team were strictly moves for dodging. Min's only offensive ability was Confusion… then it hit Ciro. Back at home when he'd had Min use Confusion she had levitated the pebbles in the yard. Thanks to the last battle, the field was filled with rocks and stones that Min could lift with her power to hurl at Jonathan. As a Dark-type he might be immune to receiving direct damage from Confusion, but having a rock hurled into your side would hurt.
"Alright Min you know what to do with it, Confusion now!" Ciro ordered with confidence.
About time. Pink psychic energy covered the rocks that were all over the ground as Min's eyes turned the same color. Rocks started levitating into the air before shooting off in the direction of Jonathan. The first few chunks that got close to the Absol were cut into pieces by the Slash that he had been ready to use on Min, what ones he couldn't cut he avoided with skill.
As Jonathan avoided and cut his way to Min the Kirlia kept her eyes focused on him, trying to catch him off guard before he could make his way to her. Jumping up as a rather large rock came at it, the Disaster Pokémon was able to clear the remaining distance and bring his blade down hard on Min as he landed next to her.
"Min is unable to battle," Fay declared as she witnessed the fall of the Emotion Pokémon. "Jonathan and Kefka are the winners."
Reaching into his coat Kefka produced Jonathan's Ball and recalled his Pokémon. Ciro did the same for Min, putting her Poké Ball back on his belt next to Vesta's. Even though he and Min had been defeated by Kefka, Ciro felt like he had gained something out of the fight. He'd learned that fighting wasn't just about outright attacking your opponent, you had to think on your toes and look around to see what else you could use.
"I'll have Nurse Joy heal your Pokémon," Fay said to the trainers.
Everyone handed over their injured Pokémon to the nurse in training. After receiving the Pokémon Fay rushed into the Center to go and get them treated, everyone else headed in to wait. There wasn't much special about Compa, no Gym to challenge and no Contest Hall to check on. It was late enough that heading out would be rather pointless so all six of them had gotten rooms at the Center to wait until morning to head out for the next town.
Tomorrow Iris and her cousins would be heading up to Valm where the first Gym Ceres planned to challenge was at. Tina, who had already beaten the Valm Gym, and the others would be heading east to head out to explore the rest of the Clestia region.
Who's That Pokemon?!
Round 6 Answer: Froslass
Round 7
Entry 1: Appears to attack people who get lost in the mountains. Said to be the culprit behind shadows that laugh in the moonlight.
Entry 2: To steal the life of its target, it slips into the prey's shadow and silently waits for an opportunity.
