Hello Everyone!

Grey here with the next chapter. Strap in, it's a bit of a long one.

Enjoy~

They swatted the leaves and branches aside as they ran, making for the north gate. Blake kept pace with Ruby on her left, her red cloak only just visible between the whiz of tree trunks that sped by. The air was silent, save for the brush of sound whenever their feet hit the ground. Blake kept her head up. Her eyes scanned ahead of her, spotting the faint line of the dirt road that ran across her vision. They had finally reached it.

They knew the plan. For the last ten minutes, they had carved a wide circle around the base, keeping out of sight in the cover of the trees. Only when they had vision of the road, would they cut a path back towards the north gate, waiting on Ozpin and Qrow to begin the operation.

However, in the back of her head, Blake remembered Qrow's words. 'Are you sure you've told us everything… I don't see why you felt the need to call for me.' She took a quick glance in Ruby's direction. Did she feel the same foreboding?

'Blake.'

Ruby met her gaze, indicating with her head to the left. Blake nodded in response. It was time to turn parallel to the road. With a heave, she launched off the trunk of a tree, keeping her speed as she darted off at a right angle. The road was roughly a hundred metres to the right. They needed the cover of the trees to get in close to the base.

In half a minute they saw the grey of the wall rush to meet them. Ruby dashed up the trunk of the tree, using her forward momentum to propel herself up before landing quietly on an outstretched branch. Blake did the same, five trunks to the right.

'We're in position. Waiting for the signal,' she said into the receiver by her ear*.

A burst of static answered her, followed by five seconds of silence. Eventually, Ozpin's voice crackled through the earpiece in reply.

'Very good, we'll begin in five.'

The message was broadcasted to Ruby's earpiece as well. The girl turned to Blake, their gazes meeting. A quick nod showed that she was ready.

'Five, four, three, two, one.'

A bang shook the forest, quickly followed by the harried beating of wings from the startled forest birds. They had begun.

Blake sucked in a quick breath, concentrating as she focused her aura. To anyone who was watching, they would have seen the two girls flicker before disappearing into thin air. In one powerful leap, they sailed over the top of the wall before meeting the ground with a forward roll to stifle the landing.

There were a few reasons why Ruby and Blake were chosen to be the covert group. One was that Ozpin was better in an open fight. The second was Ruby's speed. The biggest reason however, was Blake's semblance. In the past, it had been known as 'Shadow'. With some aura manipulation in combination with her speed, she was able to fool enemies with projections of herself. However, over the years she had added to it. Now she was able to project almost anything, earning the moniker of 'Phantom'.

They had landed in the shadow of one of the tall buildings which followed the wall in a large 'C'. Feet stomped away to their right in a frantic rhythm. By the volume, Blake estimated that there were at least two dozen of them, and more were still coming. This amount of personnel was not needed to run a simple entrenchment. She held her hand out, signaling for Ruby to stop. In few steps they had pressed their backs to the wall, holding their breath as the last few footmen streamed past them.

'I hear a few dozen headed to you, we're infiltrating further,' Blake said into the microphone. A bark of static headed Ozpin's response. 'Understood. We'll engage them now…'

Another crackle interrupted the man. 'A few dozen? What kind of checkpoint needs a few dozen men to run?' said Qrow.

'Perhaps we caught them in transit?' suggested Ruby.

'It doesn't matter. A few dozen men won't change the plan. Make your way to the south gate, we'll sweep them all up in one go.'

The man's voice cut out, replaced by the distant pattering of feet. Blake turned to Ruby. The little girl's eyes stared back at her with a steely calm.

'We're going. Stick to the shadows. I'll take left, you take right.'

Ruby nodded, swinging Crescent Rose from its holster on her back. It clicked into place, the long blade of its scythe whirring through the air as locked. Blake saw the girl tense her legs, winding them up before, in a blink of motion, she had crossed the middle of the courtyard.

Ruby's main affinity had always been speed. Sometimes she would move so fast that one could put forward the case that it was her semblance. Where before she never had proper control of it, two years seemed to have changed that.

Blake unsheathed Gambol Shroud, the blade in one hand, sheath in the other. She leapt upwards, feet catching the rough stone of the building's wall as she threw herself up a second time. The air whipped her face before she landed on the rooftop with a flutter of black. She sprung forward, surging towards the front gate…

'Blake!'

Ruby seemed to materialize out of nowhere, announcing herself with a bang. She walked the last few steps until she reached the black-haired girl.

'Something's off,' she said.

'You agree with Qrow?' Blake replied, 'you think Ozpin is hiding something?'

Ruby took her by surprise when she shook her head. 'No, it's different.'

He eyes were narrowed, as if focusing on something distant. 'Can't you feel it Blake? It feels like, Grimm.'

Blake scrunched her face at the word. 'Grimm? Ruby, there is no…'

'No Blake. I spent a lot of time in the northern forests, training in frozen, Grimm-infested forests. If anything, I know what they feel like.'

Blake's eyebrows drew together. 'If you feel Grimm,' she said, 'where are they?'

The girl in the red cloak paused, concentrating. 'I think they're below us,' she said finally, a little hesitantly.

'Below? Like underground? I don't think there was a cave system below…'

'It doesn't feel like a cave…' said Ruby. Her brow was furrowed, the slightest tint of worry splashed across her face. 'It feels off, something is different.'

Static attacked them through the earpiece.

'What is taking you guys so long?' spat Ozpin.

Blake could hear the clang of swords through the channel, the tinny sound reaching her ear.

'We're coming. ETA half a minute.'

'Good.'

'Let's go Ruby. We'll worry about Grimm and whatnot later. For now we need to finish the mission.'

The girl nodded stubbornly in response. 'Fine, we'll do it Ozpin's way.'

Without another word, she sped off across the rooftop, leaving Blake in the dust. The faunus girl quickly darted off to follow her, gulping down the distance. The distant lip of the roof rushed to meet them. The two girls simply leapt over the shallow barrier, their feet just clearing the rail.

The battle came into view now, at least what was left of it. There had never been a doubt in Blake's mind that Ozpin and Qrow could handle themselves. The both of them were veteran huntsmen, forged from battles in harder times. A few dozen footmen would be no trouble at all.

Despite this, Ruby crashed into the battlefield. Ravenously, she sunk her scythe into the nearest faunus, the blade catching the man square in the back. He could only let out a bloodcurdling shriek before Ruby yanked the huge scythe, tearing out the man's side. By the time he had hit the ground, mouth foaming in a death rattle, she had moved onto the next target.

Blake had to stop when she caught a glimpse of the young girl's eyes. They burned with a ferocious flame, blinded by rage. The vision of Ruby's piercing eyes back at the apartment came back to the faunus girl. This was the Ruby who had awoken from that tragedy.

It was already over by the time that Blake entered the fray. All she did was finish off the stragglers. The two veterans and Ruby had taken care of everything else. The girl had only just begun to approach the site again before Ozpin's cold eyes found her.

'Why did you take so long?' he muttered, 'This assault was meant to take a minute.'

'Sorry, something came up…' Blake began to reply.

She flicked a glance over towards Ruby. The girl shifted her eyes away, giving a light shrug.

'…but we deemed it to be insignificant.'

Ozpin's brow creased, shadows crossing his face. After a few tense seconds, he relented, pulling out a lighter from his right pocket and a pack of cigarettes from the other.

'Well, it's time to look for leads,' he said in between puffs. 'I'll search the building to the west,' he said, indicating the large 'C' –shaped structure, 'and you guys can take everything else.' He began to move, boots crunching against the gravel as he navigated through the bodies.

'Oz.'

Qrow had called out to him, not having moved a step since the end of the battle. His voice was almost a growl, a menacing tone that sent a shiver down Blake's hide.

'Is that it? Just a few dozen grunts and you had pulled me all the way from the north?'

The grey haired man stopped, a cloud of smoke having gathered amongst his shoulders. 'What are you saying, Qrow?'

'I'm saying that you're hiding something. You have been ever since Summer's death. I know it.' The tall man's face twisted into a snarl. 'And now you're saying that you want to search the west building, alone. What is in there, Oz?'

The other man was silent. The air hung tight and thick around their necks. Blake could feel every thump of her heart as it beat against the top of her chest. The grey demon slowly turned his head until only the corner of his eye was visible.

'It's none of your busine-'

They all felt it. The smothering sensation, as it a blanket of darkness had been pulled taut over them. Blake had only enough time to throw herself to one side before the ground was ripped apart. The crash of rubble and dirt washed over her as a black shape rose out of the ground, extending high into the sky and throwing its enormous shadow over her. Just when she had hit the ground, a huge roar surged forward, shaking the ground and making the trees shiver.

Blake bounced off her back, using the momentum of the blast to propel herself further from figure. Her eyes narrowed, blocking out the sun as her eyes fell upon the shape for the first time. She found the white sheen of its mask, marred by red lines that curled along its glossy surface. Blake grit her teeth. It was a Grimm.

Ruby flew past on her right. With a grunt, she twisted her body so that she could dig the blade of her scythe into the ground, ripping apart the earth in an effort to slow down. 'I told you,' she said when she had stopped.

Blake clicked her tongue. It was a Grimm, however, it wasn't a type which she had seen before. Two thick horns twisted about its head, tapering into lethal tips which glinted in the light. Only the upper body was above the ground, held up by two gargantuan arms. Its muscles bulged and rippled as it turned, putrid smoke gushing out of its chiseled snout. A glossy sheen of fur spanned its entire mass, layered so thickly that it looked like armour.

'How do we even beat something like that…' Blake muttered to herself.

Her eyes found Ozpin and Qrow in the distance. They had managed to dodge the initial blast, landing only a few metres from the Grimm. Already, Ozpin had run his aura along his cane so that light spilled from it. Qrow had his two scythes in his hands, the black blades stretching out to either side like the wings of a bird. No doubt, this was how he had earned his title.

The Grimm shot out its arm, the impact spraying earth in every direction. Qrow twisted himself away from the blow, landing softly to the right. The Grimm however swept its arm around, a solid mass of black that tore towards the man at a blistering speed. He only managed to brace himself with his scythes as he took the blow, tightening his muscles as he was swept off his feet.

Ozpin made his move now, carving a path through the air straight towards the Grimm's neck. A flash filled the sky as he struck down followed by a shuddering clap of sound. The Grimm flinched from the impact, throwing out one of its arms for support. The fist met the ground in a shower of dirt, throwing up a cloud that spilled across the yard. Blake ducked her head into the scarf, protecting herself from the blast.

Another monstrous roar exploded forth, sweeping away the dust. Blake's eyes widened as the Grimm came into view again. The fur coat where Ozpin had struck had not even been marked.

Ruby saw it too. Her hands closed more tightly around Crescent Scythe, her knuckles whitening.

'We have to help them,' she said, sweat beginning to bead on her neck.

'Are you kidding? Even Ozpin wasn't able to hurt that thing. What do you think we can do?' said Blake.

'So are you telling me that we should just watch? Like I'm ever going to do that!'

'Wait!' Blake shot out her hand to try and stop her. 'We can't just rush in without a plan!'

By the time the words had left her mouth however, the girl had already passed her. A crackling suddenly ran through the air. Ruby had felt it too, bringing her scythe forward to protect herself at the last second. A shimmering dome had formed around the Grimm, trapping it and the two men inside. Blake watched as Ruby's Crescent Rose smashed into it. The dome briefly rippled at the impact zone, however it didn't budge, Ruby bouncing straight off. The girl righted herself in the air, landing on her feet with a loud crash.

'What is that?' she said, eyes glowing.

Inside the dome, Ozpin and Qrow took on the full brunt of the Grimm's assault. Its arms lashed at them, kicking up dust as they managed to narrowly avoid the strikes. They had been caught.

Blake's ears twitched, finding the crunch of gravel behind her. She spun around, grip tightening on her weapons. Her eyes widened however, when she found the source. It was young girl, younger than Ruby. Her slender frame was draped in white robes. Two pointed ears poked out from under a curtain of violet hair. Blake recognized her immediately as a Vulpa, the spiritual clan of the Faunus. What was Vulpa doing at a White Fang complex, not to mention one so young.

Ruby was confused as well. She had prepared herself to kill, but before the girl she hesitated. Blake felt her pause. She had to take initiative in this situation. The Vulpa were particularly formidable with aura. There was a strong possibility that she had thrown up that barrier around the Grimm. In that case, she needed to be incapacitated. Blake sheathed Gambol Shroud, shifting the cleaver sheath in her hand so that she would strike with the flat side. There was no need to kill her.

'Leave this to me,' she said to Ruby, stepping forward.

Blake rushed towards the girl, eyes peeled for any movement. The girl was probably preoccupied with the barrier, however, no enemy would show themselves whilst they were defenseless. Perhaps she could still fight, even whilst concentrating on that barrier. In that case, she had to be ready to dodge…

'That's not a wise action, Blake.'

The girl's eyes widened as she heard that voice. She shot out her foot, skidding to a stop only a few metres from where she had started.

She knew that voice.

There was a kick of dirt, the lightest scuffle of boots, as a lone figure appeared beside the Vulpa. Light grey hair ran loosely down the back of his head and neck. His muscles pulled his toned frame forward at the shoulders, giving him a perpetual slouch, like a beowolve. A scar ran down his face, parallel to a snout-like nose, leaving his left eye closed. His open eye glowed gold, its gaze poking straight through them. It was a cold, calm stare, one built from a lifetime's experience in countless battles.

To Blake however, it was paralyzing. She instantly recognized the man, her heart tightening in her chest as fear began to creep in. He was called the Direwolve, the Faunus' crowning prodigy.

'Greis…' Blake growled.

Immediately, she tightened her stance, tensing her legs so that she could move anytime.

The man noticed the shift, his lips twisting into a scowl. 'The second you fear an enemy, is the second you have lost. Didn't I teach you that?'

'Who is he?' asked Ruby. She had figured out that Blake knew the man.

'He's trouble, Ruby. He's the one that taught me how to fight,' she said, then more darkly, 'and he taught Adam the same.'

Ruby's eyes widened.

'He taught Adam? Does that mean…'

'Yes,' said Blake, interrupting, 'He's even stronger than Adam.'

A chuckle left the man's lips, his lip tilting into a vicious snarl. 'Not many people realize that these days.'

Ruby swallowed slowly. A trembling had begun to build up in her knees. She couldn't quite put her finger on it, but something about that man intimidated her. He didn't have the overwhelming presence of Adam, but she felt that he didn't need it.

Blake clicked her tongue. Greis had left the White Fang before she had. His return explained how the Fang had been so organized recently. A boom shook the earth as the Grimm thrashed against the ground. Ozpin and Qrow seemed to have made no progress in taking down the monster in such restricted space.

Their best option was to escape. They had to take down the barrier, and that involved going through Greis, no matter how strong he was.

The wolf snarled when he saw Blake shift her weight. 'It is a shame,' he said, 'you would have grown beautifully had you not left.' His hand found the machete on his waste. It was a wicked weapon, forged with a thick, curved blade that hooked back at the tip. However, the machete wasn't the main concern, it was the arsenal of knives that lined his belt and boots, the grizzled rifle that was slung behind his back and the weathered revolver strapped into the holster by his thigh. The Lycannis were hunters, and Greis embodied that to the highest degree.

'One question, Greis,' said Blake. Her throat was dry, the words coming out coarsely. 'Why is she with you?'

The girl indicated to the white-robed Vulpa. She had remained silent all this time, bright eyes just watching.

'We have made powerful allies. Miko joined us because she wanted to save our species.'

'She's just a girl Greis, children have no place in the Fang.'

The girl spoke up now, her clear voice ringing like a bell across the battlefield. 'I joined the Fang on my own will. We can save the faunus, why do you fight against that?'

'Why? Do you even know what the Fang does. It hurts innocents! The Fang believes that they can save the faunus, yes, but at what cost?'

Blake's voice shook as she spoke. If anything, she wanted to save at least one more life from the clutches of the Fang. 'Leave the Fang. A girl like you should be nowhere near it.'

She saw the girl's bright eyes flash in anger. 'Everyday, the humans continue to treat us like common animal, forcing us to seclude ourselves in our clans and villages in the forests. Every time we try and take a step forward, humanity shoots us down. How can you just sit and watch as they do this to your species?'

'But if we do the same back, we are no better,' Blake replied. 'I know you are angry, but you have to learn that violence is not the answer to this.'

The girl shook her head, trying to block out her words. 'I must do as the elders say, to protect everyone.' 'Elders? You do what the elders tell you? They are just using you to fight their war. Open your eyes, walk your own path.'

The girl stepped back uncertainly. Her confused eyes darted towards the Direwolve by her side. 'Greis…'

The man put a reassuring hand on the girl's shoulder before letting out a throaty growl. 'Be that as it may, I remember you throwing yourself at my coat, begging me to let you into the Fang. Back then you were only eight. Do you know why I took you in? It was because then, you had the determination to make a difference.'

His eye darkened, lines creeping across his face. 'Do not mock our determination, Blake. Why do you wear that bow? Why do you hide who you are?' he spat.

'You hate the faunus don't you? You hate who we are, what we are.'

'You're wrong!' Blake shouted, 'I love the faunus, from the bottom of my…'

'Then why did you leave?' Greis took a menacing step towards them, his eye blazing.

'I left the Fang because it was misguided. It did things wrongly. Letting that girl onto the frontlines is one of them…'

'And what about that friend by your side? How old was she when she picked up a scythe and sliced through living beings without a drop of mercy? How are we different to your beloved human species?'

Ruby averted her gaze when Blake glanced over. Greis's words were true, they were all monsters.

'That's why I will change things, Greis. I will bring peace back to this land, so we will be the last.'

A low chuckle left Greis' lips, a smile curling across his face.

'I like a person who can dream, but can you follow it through?'

He flourished the blade in his hand, making it sing. 'Come at me.'

'Ruby.'

'I know.'

Blake didn't even have to look at the girl. They both knew what to do. The only hope they had to strike down Greis, was in an instant. They would have one chance to catch him off guard.

Blake threw out her shroud of shadow, enveloping the area. The darkness swept past the two faunus, smothering them in inky black. Inside the cloud, Greis muttered to Miko behind him. 'Stay close to me and don't let that barrier go down. I promised Baer to keep you safe.' The girl nodded in response, edging closer to the man's broad back.

Greis focused back to the take before him. He knew that sight would be ineffective, such was the nature of this smoke. He focused instead on his ears, his nose and the feel of the air against his skin. He felt the vibrations in the air as one of them moved behind him. His hand dropped to the hunting knives at his belt. He lowered his stance, feeling every scuffle of movement around him as the two girls positioned themselves.

Then it came.

He heard the crunch of gravel, announcing the attack long before it came. One of them blasted towards him at an insane speed, faster than anything he had felt before. The smoke didn't even have time to part before Ruby burst out, swinging Crescent Rose in a large arc.

Greis smiled as he countered. He rushed forward, stepping past the path of blade and catching the shaft with his machete. Many people knew the weakness of the scythe, but few were able to capitalize on it. He had felt Blake closing in behind him. It was obvious they were going for a two pronged attack. By stepping past the blade, he had put it between his back and Blake, blocking her attack. The clang of metal affirmed his prediction, as Blake's blade clashed with the scythe.

Ruby reacted first. She had faced this situation before. She pulled the trigger on Crescent Rose, the recoil sending the blade swinging back towards the wolf. Greis pulled out a knife from his belt, blocking it with his other arm. He shot out his leg, catching the small girl in the chest. The force yanked her from her weapon, the heavy scythe falling to the ground as Ruby flew back.

'Ruby!'

'Are you sure you have time to be worrying about her?'

Greis lashed out with his blade. Blake just managed to catch the edge between her sword and sheath before behind knocked back from the force. She righted herself in the air, latching onto the ground in her hand as she brought herself to a stop.

Her cloud had been dispersed by the clash of metal, hanging in the air like wispy fingers. Greis stood by Crescent Rose, not having broken a sweat. Blake felt her stomach tighten. If he was able to react to Ruby's speed in a smoke cloud, they stood no chance.

'Surely that's not it. I thought I taught you better.'

Blake grit her teeth. They had to beat him, otherwise the Grimm would tear Ozpin and Qrow apart. This time however, a problem had been added to the mix. Ruby had lost her weapon. She straightened herself. That problem had to be dealt with first.

On the other side of the wolf, Ruby had picked herself up. Blake shook her head, signaling for her to hold. She would take care of it.

In one motion, she pulled Gambol Shroud back, firing off a shot to add momentum as she hurled it towards Greis, the cord whipping along behind it. The wolf dodged the attack, brow creased. It was a sloppy attack, Blake had something planned. He caught on once the girl yanked the cord, bringing the sword back to her. She was going to try and hook onto the scythe.

Greis knew how to respond. Some people would have tried to swipe at the cord, throwing off the path of the projectile. He knew better. Once he touched that, the blade would alter its course with him as its pivot. The cord would loop around him, binding him. The correct way to attack was to deflect the blade directly.

His eye swept back, his head turning to find Gambol Shroud sweeping back towards him. As soon as he turned his eye however, he felt movement. Blake leapt into action, darting off to the right. She knew he would see through the plan. Therefore she needed to attack in the slight opening when his attention turned. She dashed towards him now, swinging the cleaver sheath towards his back.

Greis turned his attention back to the girl, throwing his knife at the girl. Blake was forced to defend with her sheath, the impact dulling her speed so that she landed just before him. He slashed down with his machete. The force slammed Blake into the ground, causing her to gasp. He brought his left fist back, preparing to slam his fist into her and finish the fight.

Greis's eye widened. Pure instinct took over as he relented, jerking his body back and leaping away from the girl. Just before his nose he felt the rush of air, as if a blade had just skimmed by. He landed a few metres back, eye pinpointing the threat that he had sensed. Blake held Gambol Shroud in an outstretched hand. Greis's brow creased. Blake had thrown the weapon, he was sure. He had accounted for its trajectory when he struck. It should have sailed straight past him. Blake had been pinned down as well. There should have been too much slack in the cord to have changed her sword's trajectory.

The biggest thing however; was that, for a split second, he had felt the presence of two Gambol Shrouds.

'Ruby!'

'Already on it!' Greis felt the rush of air as the little girl took off. In a second she had reached her scythe, snapping it up before she landed with a skid of stone.

The wolf growled, taking a step towards them. His left hand had fallen to his belt, ready to pull out another knife.

'Not so fast Greis.'

The wolf turned to voice, eye finding Blake. It narrowed, the man's face darkening in rage.

'Drop your weapons Greis, and I won't hurt her,' said Blake. In the brief opening, she had rush over to the Vulpa girl, grabbing her by her cuff and holding her close, blade pressed to her throat.

'Greis!' she shouted.

The man snarled at Blake, his knuckled turning white as he clenched onto his machete. Losing sight of the girl was unacceptable. 'You have done it now, Blake. I might not be able to hold back my anger.'

Blake tightened her hold on the girl. She had hoped that it wouldn't come to this. However, the wolf-man had backed them into a corner. The girl was their last lifeline. As long as they had her, Greis could be controlled, hopefully.

'Drop all of them Greis, and get her to drop the barrier!' She shouted, one last time.

~POST-MORTEM~

Yang: Hello! Yang here!

Pyrrha: And Pyrrha!

Grey: And Grey!

Yang & Pyrrha & Grey: And welcome to the Post-Mortem!

*applause*

Yang: Man, I can't believe it took eleven takes to get that right.

Grey: It's because you kept messing up the timing. We even had to put you first just to make it work.

Pyrrha: Now, now guys. Let's not fight, the readers are here already.

Grey: Oh, they are… *clears throat* Ahem… Welcome to the second installment of the Post-Mortem, the segment brought to you by whiny minor characters that weren't satisfied with their parts in the fanfic-

Yang: Hey! Who are you calling whiny!

Grey: Case in point. Anyways, this chapter marks the first to be written after the release of Volume 2 of RWBY. Therefore, I would like to start us off with your thoughts on the new season. Pyrrha?

Pyrrha: Well, I kind of want to try that Remnant card game or whatever it was.

Yang: Man, that was fun…

Pyrrha: Didn't you get beaten by Jaune?

Yang: …

Grey: Actually, that's kind of interesting. Jaune is actually falling into the character I have envisioned.

Pyrrha: *whispers* Psst, Grey, spoilers…

Grey: Oh… Moving on-

Yang: Smoooooooooooooottthhhhhhhh…

Grey: Oh shut up. Moving on, I love the Monty and the new season giving me a new character to work with. General Ironwood, he can go places.

Yang: I dunno, he seemed like the typical military man…

Pyrrha: Wasn't there that thing with bringing an army. It seems that there's something brewing on his side.

Grey: See? We can totally work that into the story.

Yang: What do you mean 'we'? We're dead, remember. Heck, I don't even think you're paying us to be here today.

Grey: Uni budget man, gotta stick to it.

Yang: I'm pretty sure it's illegal.

Grey: Hey, at least I'm giving you guys a part…

Pyrrha: Hardly. You do one of these things like every four chapters.

Grey: Let's not bring this back to your deaths. You're pissed, I get it. Let's move on.

Yang: Hmmmm, everyone is meant to be stronger in your fanfic right, since it's been two years?

Grey: Yah?

Yang: I swear Ruby is so much stronger in Season 2.

Grey: It's an animation thing. Besides, you know how tiring it is to write about something so powerful. It was hard enough to write about Greis without hating myself.

Pyrrha: Yeah, what was with that character? He's an OC who you claim to be stronger than Adam, when Adam single-handedly offed both of us. If that's not a Gary Stu, or whatever it's called, then I don't know what is.

Grey: Doesn't that Gary Stu thing apply only to protagonists?

Pyrrha: I'm pretty sure it applies to everything.

Grey: Do you not like it?

Pyrrha: No, it's just that it feels like you're pulling these supposedly strong characters out of your ass…

Yang: I'm dead. Shit story.

Grey: Language!

Yang: Hey, its got a T rating. It'll be fine.

Grey: Actually, I never fully understood this rating system. I put T, but is this an M? I thought that was reserved for like lemon and stuff.

Yang: *shrugs* As long as you don't put Lemon in this story… You are so gonna do that aren't you.

Grey: Hell no. I can't write stuff like that. It'd literally be the worst thing written in the history of mankind. Besides, I'd run out of words.

Yang: Yeah, how do they even do it?

Pyrrha: Well, there are a lot of words you can use. All the stuff I've read with Blake have-

Yang: You read Lemon with Blake?

Pyrrha: Ooops… *covers mouth*

Grey: I think we are getting firmly off topic here. Back to Greis, I felt as if we needed counters to Ozpin and Qrow. I'm pretty sure they'd be able to take out the White Fang themselves if they wanted to.

Pyrrha: Yeah, I had feeling as well. I mean, he's got this whole 'Grey Demon' thing going for him. Actually, you've really been alluding that Ozpin is a bit shady, haven't you.

Grey: You noticed?

Yang: Noticed? You pretty much slapped us across the face with it. Like, I think there was a whole paragraph telling us how Qrow didn't trust Ozpin.

Grey: But it's interesting, isn't it? What is Ozpin hiding? What happened between Summer and Cinder? Find out in the future when I finally get around to it! Anyways, it's time for use to introduce our special guest! Ladies, and Gentlemen! Please welcome to the show, the esteemed, the classy, Roman Torchwick.

*Roman Torchwick walks in waving his hands amidst sparse clapping*

Roman: Thank you! Thank you!

Yang: Ugh… Did we have to invite him, Grey?

Grey: Hey, don't you feel bad for leaving him out last time?

Pyrrha: Not really, he wouldn't have brought much to-

Roman: Hey guys, I'm kind of right here you know? Like, I haven't even sat down yet.

Yang: Just hurry up and take a seat! Every second you take is another second I waste in this stupid segment!

Grey: Hey, calm down. Give the man his moment. *turns to Roman* Well, Roman! It's good to see you! What are your thoughts about the fanfic so far?

Roman: Well, I've got to say that it's entertained me so far.

Grey: Finally! Someone who appreciates all the hard work I've put into this-

Roman: So far, I said. Right now however, amidst all the hiatuses and low quality chapters I have got to say that I think you've lost it.

Grey: What? Hiatuses? Low quality chapters? What nonsense is this? I took one hiatus, after Act I, and I think that's perfectly logical.

Roman: You don't understand. For good fanfiction, you need to update on a regularly basis with good content. You keep complaining about how you have no reviews and stuff but you have to realize the problem might be you.

Grey: Me, the problem? You've got to be kidding. I do this Post-Mortem thing, actually put out 5k word chapters! Girls, please agree with me here that I'm doing a good job.

Yang: *to Pyrrha* You know, having Roman on the show is kind of enjoyable.

Pyrrha: *nods*

Roman: Ladies, you are not alone in being killed off early under the evil clutches of Grey. I harbor just as much resentment as you do.

Yang: Hey, I might have seen you as bad in the show, but you're actually not that bad.

Roman: Hey, it's not my fault that Monty makes me seem like the scum of earth. I'm actually a very classy and sophisticated person.

Grey: Roman, you were jailed for reasons that were deemed too graphic for the audience to know.

Roman: It was never revealed! As far as you know, I might have been jailed for drink driving!

Pyrrha: Drink driving is a serious crime.

Grey: Yeah, readers. Don't do it.

Roman: I don't even…

Grey: Ah well. That's all we have time for folks! What will Greis do now that Blake has Miko? What is Ozpin hiding? Find out next time on From Shadows!

*Sparse clapping sound effect as lights dim*

Yang: Finally! We can go!

Grey: *sighs*

Man, I had forgotten how fun the Post-Mortem is. Yang and Pyrrha just make the best combo! Sometimes I wonder if I killed them just to get them in it.

Anyways, I think Pyrrha's warming up to it now. Yang is harder nut to crack.

Roman however, I really don't want to invite him again...

Anyways, thank you guys for reading, as always. I'll be watching the new season of RWBY alongside you all.

Please review if you liked/disliked it.
