"There's going to be a hero visiting us today, everyone!" The 22 year old Todoroki woman said, and the kids cheered.
"Who's it gonna be Ms. Todoroki?" One of the more excitable kids eagerly asked.
"Is it gonna be Hawks?!" One with wings of their own questioned, making their wings flap in of conjunction with arm flapping motions.
"Is it going to be Wash?!" Another louder kid asked with a look of awe on their face and making bubble popping motions.
"Is it going to be Miruko?" A young chunky one asked, drool coming out of their mouth as they jumped up and down.
"Is it gonna be Tempest?!" One young girl asked, making whooshing motions. Suddenly the girl was lifted up in the air, and the class went silent with awe. Then the rest of the kids rose up, and the number seven hero walked in with a grin.
"Hey kids!" The younger hero said with a grin, and all the kids squealed.
"ITS TEMPEST!" They cried, all struggling in midair, some attempting to swim towards the laughing hero. He dropped the kids gently, and the Todoroki woman walked up.
"Ms. Todoroki, an honor to meet you." He said, bowing to the woman as the kids crowded around. "Hey, hey! Watch the cape!" The outfit was simple, but striking. A fluffy white cape, black cargo pants, laced up black combat boots with blue bottoms and a golden T on the from, and a sky blue shirt with another large golden T. Then a pair of cyan goggles sitting on the top of his head.
"I wanna wear it!" The kids cried at different intervals, and as the Todoroki woman went to stop them, the hero removed his cape. The kids scrambled to the fallen cape, and fought over it.
"I'm sorry, Tempest, sir…" The woman started, and she got a laugh and a smile.
"Yin, Yin Shuaura." He said, and the Todoroki woman blinked with a blush.
"Oh…" She said, looking down from the hero's eyes. "I'm Fuyumi, Fuyumi Todoroki." She introduced, bowing nervously.
"Nice to meet you!" Tempest said with a casual tone, and he turned. "Hey! Don't bite it!"
"It's tastes like cotton candy!" The chunky kid cried, gnawing on it. He was lifted with a gesture of the hand, and the kids were lifted onto the cape.
"It tastes like cotton, but anyway, let's go for a little ride!" The window was opened with a wave of a hand, and Fuyumi was offered a hand. "Come on, Ms. Todoroki, lets go!" She took his hand, and jumped when a another cape flew in from the window, and the two adults hopped on. The kids yelled happily, and the hero laughed at them, but put up a barrier of wind to make sure none fell out. Fuyumi turned to the hero, finding his eyes to be that distinct light blue sky color.
"So, Mr. Shuaura, what made you come to do this?" Fuyumi asked, and the guy chuckled.
"When I was young, All Might visited my school back before even had my Quirk, at their age, around six. That's the reason I even became a hero." Tempest explained, leaning back as he watched the kids scramble around on his cape. "So, I want to inspire them t…" He blinked, and stood. "Hey! No pushing!"
"You can't stop me hero!" A prouder, more daring kid happily declared, pointing at Tempest.
"Oh really?" Tempest asked, the winds rising around him. Fuyumi watched as the hero played with the children, throwing them around playfully, and the prouder child with enhanced strength threw the chunky kid, who suddenly grew five times in size. Tempest quickly caught the child, and supported him with one hand. The child fired off their Quirks, throwing snakes from their hair, flying at him with their wings, and firing off multiple projectiles like lasers. He found them no threat, but he played along. Fuyumi smiled as 'he took a hit' from the girl who guessed him from before, and began to fall down. The two capes began their descent, slowly and gently as the kids were collected back on the cape. They cheered at achievement, and Fuyumi giggled as the man 'crashed' into the ground. The dust cloud went up, but Fuyumi had seen the winds collect around him before he truly crashed. When the dust cleared, the hero sat there, defeated.
"We win!" The class cheered, and the hero admitted defeat.
"Yup! Keep studying and training to be strong, and you could beat heroes stronger than me and save the world!" Tempest declared, and the class cheered for him, and he individually patted all their heads. As he guided them back in, Fuyumi walked up.
"Are you busy tonight?" She asked nervously, the woman looking down when she asked the question. A light gust of air blew her face upwards, making her lock eyes with him, and she noted the fact that they had changed back after he exhaled.
"Nope, Ms. Todoroki. Why?" The hero asked, and Fuyumi handed over a paper slip. "Hm?"
"It's, um, my phone number. My brother's out in the world, my older brother is… I honestly don't know, my younger brother is in the UA dorms, my father usually sleeps in the office, and I kind of have the house to myself now. I wouldn't mind a guest." She said, and Tempest grinned.
"Sure, I don't mind being a guest. I should come around what time?" Tempest asked, and Fuyumi felt the gentle caress of wind flowing through the conversation, his eyes tinted a barely noticeable blue, and smiled.
"I'll make dinner, so you can be there by seven." Fuyumi said, and he nodded with a smile, and gave a thumbs up.
"Tempest and Ms. Todoroki are gonna kiss guys!" The chunky kid cried, pointing out of the window. The teacher went up in red, blushing deeply.
"Kids!" She cried out, running into the classroom and Shuaura looked away with a flustered grin.
"Later little guys!" He said easily, waving to the giggling group, and flying off. He went to work, calling back his cape and attaching it, throwing his other cape to the wind, back to base. He dove down, the winds swirling around to cushion his descent as he began patrols. He flew about, his extensive training allowing elongated usage of his Quirk. When someone went to fall, he flinched and caught them with the air, and they thanked him. "Be careful, sir!"
"Of course! Thank you, young man!" The older gentleman said, and the hero waved, before floating off. The winds rolled around him, air flowing and giving him a feel of the area. It slipped through doors, through pipes, being all consuming as his eyes glowed a light blue. He could sense everything, and that was a powerful but sometimes annoying part of his Quirk.
He sensed something within a bank, and then the alarms went off. He rushed into the building, through the air vents. "The money! All of it! Right now, in the bag!" The gunman demanded, and the people inside held their hands up as they backed away. "Come on now, mo…" Tempest came from the vents, the winds howling around him. "NO!" The gunman fired at the crowd, only for the bullets to be caught in thin air. However, the air was rather thick, a practical wall of fast moving particles that stopped the bullets. "No! No! Go AWAY!" More bullets were fired, and they were all taken up in the wall turned tornado. Then a forceful gust snapped the gun in half, and the hero grinned.
"Stop. You'll only make it worse from now on." Tempest said casually, the winds flowing around the area, the bullets flowing around Tempest. The burglar backed away, but couldn't escape, as the bullets circled around him. The burglar fell to his knees before the hero, who sighed, and the burglar reached for his pistol, only to find it gone. "I told you to stop." Tempest said, the gun loosely floating by him. "You can't outdo my senses. Either of you." The other man was slammed into the counter, his gun dropping and being swept up by the gales. Tempest began to close his hand.
"What the hell are you?!" The robber snapped, and Tempest chuckled.
"I'm just a hero, with control of storms. Tempest, if you would." The hero explained, fighting to close his hand further in a calm matter, and the robbers winced. "Hurts, doesn't it? When someone's fighting your power. That's why I trained. So no one could fight my power." Suddenly the robbers passed out, and Tempest uncurled his fist. He exhaled, sinking to the ground as the bullets dropped to the floor. The bullets rolled, and Tempest's eyes reverted. The police came charging in, and the hero waved as the cameras came in after. He cleaned the mess after letting his insides settle, and laughed as he explained the situation with a warm smile.
Fuyumi couldn't get her mind off that warm smile as she left for home. She had watched the report, and seen the base form of him, not floating, just human. She reflected on this as she made her way into her home, forlornly looking up into the sky to see if he was flying over. Nothing was there, and Fuyumi finished what work she had, and went to work on dinner. She put up her hair in a tiny ponytail, and began to cook. She watched the news, surprised that Tempest was working overtime. He was using all of his abilities, from hand to hand combat to take out thugs, to his pure Quirk to out stronger villains. Whenever he would finish with his Quirk, she would notice a sigh or exhale. Then he'd simply grin.
She knew it was a trait he picked up from All Might, and now that the hero was gone everybody was rushing to replace him. Thus, when a strong muscular villain came in from nowhere, and Tempest stood up to them, Fuyumi stopped cooking, watching the battle.
Tempest was dodging mostly, and reading his opponent. "I'm only giving you one last chance." Tempest said, still in a casual tone as he dipped and dodged, whirling around in midair against a twenty foot muscular monster. "Stop now, or else I'll have to hurt you."
"HIYAH!" A chunk of road was launched at Tempest, and it rolled around him with ease and slammed directly into the villain.
"Fine, we can do this." The light glow of Tempest's eyes intensified, and the winds picked up. "Let's have fun!" He said with a grin, and Tempest flew at the muscle man, slipping his punch with a gust, and driving a fist into the monster's jaw. The man stumbled back, but then smacked away Tempest, putting a grip of fear over Fuyumi's heart as the hero went flying. The kickback of force from the wind knocked the beast's hand back, and Tempest easily recovered, laughing. The wind had cushioned his blow, and he raised a palm. The wind collected in a slowly visible ball of force, Tempest chuckled.
The two rushed in and clashed, the ball releasing with a burst of raw force, blowing away the musclebond monster man, but Tempest didn't even waste an instant. The wind rushed again, tripping the muscle man, and slamming him into the ground. Suddenly Tempest began to move his arms, exhaling. One sharp inhale later, Tempest threw up his hand. The man was lifted, thrown up into the air, and Tempest clapped his hands together, the man now restrained in midair. A spin of a wrist and the man began to spin, and in a bright flash of his eyes later, the man was slammed into rubble. Then he was subsequently buried by rock, and Tempest exhaled. He then grinned, and looked to the camera, giving a thumbs up. However, he then thrusted his fist forward, the wind pushing the camera man back and then Tempest being consumed by rubble. The monster man roared in triumph, as the hero had fallen.
However, before anyone could say a word or react, the rocks burst into the air, and Tempest's eyes were a powerful blazing sky blue, the orbs seemingly leaking energy as blood streamed down his head. Silently he waved his hand in a square shape, and then pushed forward. The muscle man roared out in pain as their arms and legs snapped like twigs from the raw tornado level force, and then the muscle man was thrown away into another building, a kilometer away. After calming down, the glow faded and Tempest forcefully exhaled, and then gasped for air. Upon quickly recovering the hero gave a warm grin.
"It's all right! I'll take care of the mess too!" Tempest said with a confident tone, before his eyes glowing again, but gently. The winds picked up the stone, small and large, and reformed it slowly, after judging each piece and the holes left in the area. He pocketed his hands, and closed his eyes, simply focusing on what his senses were telling him. He laid the stone down, and withdrew the villain from the wall. He then reformed the wall, and dropped the villain. He was still bleeding, but that didn't seem to matter to him. "I can't exactly smelt it all back together myself. I'll have a friend come and take care of that aspect!" He slowly began to float, lifting the villain up for the police to cuff as the villain began to revert, down to a smaller, weaker person. "I'll see you all later!" Tempest burst off into the air, flying out of the camera shot.
Fuyumi gulped down the pit in her stomach, noting that he could fly without difficulty. Then the smoking chicken reached her nose as she calmed down, and she rushed to take care of it.
Tempest however landed in his office, the roof closing above him. He exhaled, and held his head, his vision clearing and his sense of balance coming back to him, but he still closed his eyes to settle. "Yin, are you alright?!" His friend asked, rushing up to the hero.
"Alf, man, I'm fine, I need you to go fix the road! And the wall!" Shuaura said firmly, holding off his taller red headed friend.
"On it!" Alphonse ran off to hit the roof button.
"Take the stairs and walk!" Shuaura yelled, and he heard a groan. "If you want to start paying for the burn damage on the roof and the street, go ahead!" Then he heard the roof open up. "Dammit man, take the stairs!"
"Fine!" His friend ran off, and he still heard the sound of his friend's transformation.
"I'm gonna kill you later!" Shuaura roared.
"Not if I kill you first!" He heard, and he opened his eyes to his other close friend. The pink haired girl held bandages, and Shuaura laughed.
"No, you won't. You'll heal me!" Shuaura declared confidently, and he just got his head wrapped up, and no instant healing. "Uh, what?! Come on, Riri!" Riza walked off, and Shuaura chased. "Please, I can't show up to Endeavor's daughter's house like this!" Shuaura said, dropping his cape and hanging it up.
"If I heal you right now, your headache could triple and kill you." Riza explained casually, and Shuaura sighed.
"I guess, but a little…"
"I'm a doctor, not meant to cause harm but heal it and prevent more of it. You blocked most of the assault anyway." She explained, puffing her lab coat out.
"Barely, I was…"
"Reckless, as you normally are. You missed some great opportunities for work this morning when you went and visited those kids." Riza cut him off. "You didn't even tell anyone where you were going."
"Cause you would have told people, and those people would have called the news, and then it'd wouldn't be as fun." Shuaura said accusingly, removing his gloves kicking off his boots, walking into the changing room.
"I do my best to help you reach number one." She called into the changing room, and Shuaura came out.
"I'll do it naturally. I did a decent job earlier." Shuaura offered.
"You got hurt." Riza responded, checking her phone.
"I fixed the road and played it off." Shuaura rebutted, putting away his own.
"You damaged the wall." Riza pointed out, sitting down in her chair as she reviewed reports on Tempest.
"And I fixed that too." Shuaura responded, throwing a light gust of wind, only to be hit by a bottle.
"And now Alphonse is finishing your fix. I suppose you did alright…" Riza said, scanning pages. Most were complimenting Tempest on his power and many people liking his way he came back up with the win with the glowing eyes. "But you need to hide your tell."
"I still don't like how the goggles became a part of my appearance anyway…" Shuaura said with a sigh, but he was flicked on the arm.
"Doesn't matter. As cool as this art admittedly is…" She flashed an image of Tempest with his eyes blazing their powerful sky blue, goggles around his neck and his cape flaring as a tornado tore up the world around him as he stood tall, and the name was emblazoned on the bottom right.
Hero of the Winds! Storm God, Tempest!
"I like it! Though it is covering the T on my boot, so not perfect." Shuaura critiqued.
"As I was saying, they already noted your glowing eyes. Someone you fight is going to notice this, and someone is going to aim for your eyes." Riza warned, and Shuaura sighed.
"Fine, I'll wear them. In battle. People prefer it when you look in the eyes."
"He's right you know!" The firebrand said, dropping from the ceiling entrance.
"See! Even he agrees! And you can't even see his eyes when he's flared up!" Shuaura said, gesturing to a reverted Alphonse. His friend was six foot, muscular, and a redhead, with blazing orange eyes. Rather intimidating.
"You're using the dumbest out of all us to support your argument?" Riza asked flatly, fist to her face as she turned in her chair. Being only five foot four, with bubblegum pink hair and matching eyes, she wasn't as intimidating.
"Hey, I'm not dumb!" Alphonse argued and turned to his friend for support.
"I needed someone. Sorry about that, Alf, but you are not smarter than me, and definitely not smarter than her." Shuaura said casually, dodging a punch.
"Wanna try me in a fight, wind boy?"
"See? Your insults match your intelligence, firefox." Shuaura said, before dodging the plume of fire.
"Hey, if you two elemental idiots are going to fight, do it somewhere else!" Riza snapped, and Shuaura turned to her with a playful grin.
"And your insults are so smart, they don't work on an idiot like me. I need simple words, weaker Shuzenji!" Shuaura shot with a crazy grin. The pro hero then had to dodge the syringe launched at his head, and then the fire plume. "Haha!"
"Get out of here! Your date's in ten minutes!" Riza snapped, and Alphonse's eyes widened.
"He has a date?!" Before any questions could be answered, Shuaura vanished through the air, grumbling as he pulled down his goggles, and checked his phone for a map to the Todoroki residence. Every top 10 hero had spoken with Endeavor at least once, and Tempest was no different. The conversation was in the midst of battle, but he had gotten his last name and thus was able to find out just enough to deduce his address, since the Todoroki estate was huge.
He casually landed, his eyes reverted and he exhaled. He had skipped the gates, and knocked on the front door pretty hard. He had come casual, in black jeans, a white t shirt, his removed goggles as a necklace, and his jean jacket. In around two minutes, right when he was about to knock again, the door opened, revealing the Todoroki girl in a white apron, and black long sleeved top, and blue jeans herself, her hair done up a cute ponytail, and with her wide turquoise eyes looking into his orbs behind her glasses.
"Oh! Um, hello, Mr. Shua…"
"Shuaura is fine, Ms. Todoroki!" He said with a casual wave of the hand, and Fuyumi nodded quickly, letting him in. Seeing her barefoot, he kicked off his shoes and placed them on the mat.
"So, um, Shuaura, I'm not exactly finished with dinner because I got a little distracted…" Fuyumi admitted, and she was followed into the kitchen as she worked with the vegetables.
"With what?" He asked, finding a spare apron without reading what it said, and picked up a knife and went to work on other vegetables that were there.
Fuyumi gestured to his head with the knife she had. "I was… I was rather invested in your fights." Fuyumi admitted with a blush, and Shuaura laughed nervously as he scratched the bandage.
"Wow, didn't know I had a fan!" Shuaura said lightly, hoping to cheer her up with a light bump of hips with her. Fuyumi blushed deeper and nodded, looking to him with the apron on. She looked away, flustered and focusing on the food again. "Huh? Is something wr…" He looked down, and laughed at the apron he wore. "Whoops, sorry, didn't mean to be suggestive." He said, looking away himself, nervously. Kiss the Cook probably was a little too quick for the first day.
Then as the two worked, Shuaura was confused as it began to heat up slowly over time, and it wasn't the oven. As Fuyumi baked the vegetables and struggled to undo her apron, Shuaura helped. "Thank you for your help Shuaura." She said, and the hero grinned, wiping sweat.
"No problem, Ms. Todoroki!" Shuaura responded, and before he could even try to remove his apron, Fuyumi undid his and took it away. "Hey, Ms…"
"Todoroki." She said letting down her hair, and Shuaura smiled. "You can call me that if I can call you Shuaura." Fuyumi said, stretching.
"Alright, Todoroki!" Shuaura began. "Why is it so much hotter in here right now?" Shuaura asked, wiping more sweat. He could resist a lot of things with his Quirk, plenty, but as Alphonse constantly reminded him in their training sessions, heat was not one of them.
The woman blushed, and kneeled down at the traditional Japanese table as she exhaled frosty air. He blinked, recognizing a strange tie to their Quirks. "It's my Quirk… Temperature Monitor." Fuyumi explained, the room suddenly cooling down. Surprisingly enough, this actually didn't bother Shuaura. Rain clouds were rather cold, much colder than the room. "I can raise or lower the temperature of anything I look at, or the room I'm in accidentally if I'm not focused." Fuyumi said, the room balancing out.
"Does it have any meaning?" Shuaura asked, and Fuyumi blinked.
"Huh?" She asked, and Shuaura grinned.
"My Quirk sometimes works on its own too." Shuaura explained, his eyes undergoing a light glow. "When I get nervous, the air usually smells like ozone. When I'm happy, if unchecked, things start to fly!" Shuaura said playfully, laughing. The wind came back, blowing up Fuyumi's hair. She then began to float herself, scaring the life out of her.
"Hey! Shuaura!" She cried, and she was lifted over to the hero, who grinned at her. "Put me down!" She cried, and the hero smirked and lead her back to her seat, and leaving her there while he got the food. Fuyumi found herself still blushing, and smiling in response to the pro's casual fun loving nature. He brought out the food, floating it along and laying it out. The two ate in a quiet, but peaceful and calming silence. Both were used to loud noise throughout the day, from screaming kids to civilians and villains, so the calming presence of each other and silence was comforting. The only sounds were the soft sounds of their chewing, and the fan in the room. Fuyumi had made a lot, just in case. And she was glad, as he seemed bottomless. She wasn't exactly surprised, seeing her father eat after a hard day of work. However, whatever Fuyumi didn't eat, and claim se didn't want, vanished into his mouth. He was civil, but at the same time he slurped up an entire pot of noodles in one fell swoop. Fuyumi cwas consistently on guard though, because since he was so casual and he was amazed by her cooking, things would float. The vase, empty bowls, occasionally her glasses. The last time it did that, they ended up on his face, and he let out a content sigh after finishing the last bit of sushi, a bit of wasabi left on the corner of his mouth. "Shuaura!" She said chastisingly, standing up the pro, and pointing. The wasabi froze, and Shuaura casually popped the icy sauce off, and ate it, before looking at Fuyumi with a challenging grin.
The woman put a hand on her hip, and pointed at his head. She turned a bright red before a single strand of his hair was lit on fire. His eyes snapped open as he burst into the air, and flew over to the sink and dunking his head. Upon coming up, he glared at Fuyumi, who saw the blue, and couldn't fight the gales that overtook her, and lifted her into the air. "P-Put me down!" She half stuttered, half demanded.
"Nope! You're mine!" Shuaura said right back and she pointed "Nope!" Fuyumi's hand was forced down, and she was brought over to Shuaura, who collected the dishes, manually, as Fuyumi was floated around. She couldn't even tell how he kept an eye on her, as whenever she would even attempt to uncurl a finger and point, he would click his tongue, lightly bop her nose with a pointed gust. Then her hair would be blown up and he would return to work. She was lowered to hovering across the ground once the two made it to the sink, and Shuaura decided to take up the washing while freeing Fuyumi for drying. As Fuyumi glared at the water he was working with, he cleared his throat. "Your cooking is amazing Todoroki." Shuaura complimented, and Fuyumi lost focus for a instant. "My friends and I, ever since working as heroes, never really had time to cook, or learn how. We just hopped out of UA, instantly began hero work at 18, and four years later Riza's almost finished with her doctoral side studies, Alf's Magma Man is number 44, and the little cloud became a roaring Tempest at 7th place. If you told five year old me that, he'd punch you and say you're lying." Shuaura explained, as his scrubbing speed lowered, and his fingers lightly crackled and sparked. Fuyumi smiled at his honesty, and blushed at his compliment. "Cup ramen is great and all, along with the healthy veggie fruit smoothie from everyone's favorite doctor in training to keep you from dying of too much sodium, but your udon was delicious, I've never had such flavor in the stuff before. I've personally never been a fan of sushi, but the way you made it blew my mind, and I know about blowing minds!" He said with a playful gust of air to her face along with a hip bump, earning even more of a blush from Fuyumi, and the room began to heat up. "And I swear, the stew was absolute perfection, I just couldn't help myself!" The now flustered but unable to stop hero couldn't stop his compliments to the meal he just ate, and the distinct smell of ozone leaked through the air, and the temperature kept rising.
So when the youngest Todoroki walked in the house to visit his sister, he had recognized the distinct smell usually caused by Kaminari pre and post electrical usage. He, despite his natural resistance to the heat, could tell the house was never usually this hot. He walked to the source of both strange phenomena, and found his sister a deeper red than any flames he could produce and someone Todoroki didn't know flusteredly teasing her, poking her side with a large grin as she floated above the ground. Instead of asking questions, the teenager instantly blasted a wave of fire at the man, knowing his sister would be fine. Rather causally the fire was noticed by the man, was disrupted with a look which caused a forceful gale, and Todoroki was pinned to the ground with a strong torrent of wind, and threatened from above with water on a current from the sink.
"Oh. Well, hello!" Shuaura said, recognizing the boy from the Sports Festival as the most powerful person there. Outside one that both Riza and Alphonse had a strange theory on, which Shuaura was also suspicious of. "Sorry, Shoto. That is your hero name too, right?" Shuaura asked, letting the boy up and the girl down.
"Yes. You are?" Todoroki asked, watching the water retreat.
"I'm Yin Shuaura, but the hero name is Tempest." Shuaura said with a bow, and Todoroki remembered something Midoriya was saying.
"Yeah! Tempest is super strong! He's the person who fought that tornado villain and was so powerful that he completely reversed the effects of the tornado villains transformation with his own winds!"
"You don't look that powerful." Todoroki said honestly, and Fuyumi went to apologize, but Shuaura just laughed.
"A lot of people say that before they lose. And considering how easily I could have snapped your arms in that moment, you don't look that powerful either." Shuaura said casually, before grinning at Todoroki's narrowed eyes.
"I guess you're right." Todoroki said, and Shuaura's hair caught fire again.
"TODOROKI!" Shuaura dunked his head, then soaked Fuyumi with water, dodged Todoroki's fire plume, and burst out the window. "I'll be back!" Shuaura roared before vanishing into the night. As Todoroki sighed, Fuyumi couldn't help but give a flustered smile at the window as her heart fluttered.
After a quick flight, Shuaura landed back at his offices, finding his friends passed out with his smoothie waiting for him. There was a note.
You will drink this. If I find it, ANYWHERE, I'll heal you. I'll heal you to DEATH.
Shuaura laughed quietly, drank the smoothie, and lifted both of his friends with air currents, carrying them to their beds. As he yawned, regretting the fact that he had nobody to bring him back after testing his side abilities. Main side ability, cause he still couldn't use it without passing out. As he went to bed, he got a text.
I really enjoyed tonight. Same time tomorrow?
Sure! Shuaura responded, before laying down and going to sleep.
Fuyumi was currently fighting her brother to get her phone back, but Todoroki gave a small smile when the return text came. "Shoto! Why'd you do that?!" Fuyumi asked angrily, finally getting her phone back and seeing what had been arranged.
"He's strong. Keep him around." Shoto responded flatly as he went off to his room. "I was busy with a friend, like I said in the text. Didn't think I'd get back this late, so sorry for missing dinner." Was all Fuyumi got before he vanished. Fuyumi didn't work tomorrow, it was Saturday, but that meant she had nothing to distract her all day till they met. It also meant she'd have to go shopping for more food.
The two had started to have dinner on a common basis. Almost every night the two shared a meal, after work or just on weekends just for fun. Eating together in a silence, or with conversation about their respective days. They grew close, albeit indirectly. Fuyumi never spoke a word about her missing mother, or her relationship with her father. Shuaura never gave up much info on his past either, they focused on the present. Each other. And that lead to lengthy conversations on their daily lives.
One time the two stayed up late doing lesson plans for Fuyumi since she was behind. It was a late night for Shuaura as well, having fought fifteen people that day. However, after the relaxing meal and time spent with her, he couldn't just leave. Thus that was one of the first nights he spent over at the Todoroki estate, both ending up passed out on the floor. That lead to an awkward wake up in the morning, Fuyumi yawning and sitting up, not instantly remembering the previous night. She checked her lessons plans, and found they were in two hand writing styles. As she thought about that, she put her hand down to support herself. Instead of meeting the hardwood floor, she met the softer flesh of Shuaura's chest. He coughed, and she instantly recoiled.
"Ugh, what time is it Todoro?" He asked, and she looked at the clock. He looked at around the same time, and both gawked.
"TEN!" Both scrambled off to do the different things they planned, promising each other food later.
After a little bit of work, the fatigued hero crashed on his bed. He got about five minutes.
"Flare up!" Shuaura threw himself off his bed, expecting a fire plume to consume where he was. As he turned to where he expected the bright orange glow, he just found his friend laughing, and sweating for some reason. "Haha! Your so pre…" Alphonse was sent flying with an air punch, and he was chased down.
"HOLD!" Riza yelled, jumping in the way. Shuaura came to a sharp stop in midair. Riza was also sweating for some reason. "So, how did it go this time?" The interested doctor asked, and the other hero came back, still both being strangely nervous.
"Yeah man, you got back late!" Alphonse said in a rushed tone, his eyes flitting back and forth, and both stared at the pro hero with unsure locks.
"She's an still amazing cook, and she's still peaceful. It was great!" Shuaura explained, with smile. "She's wonderfully consistent, and I like that." Both gave him flat looks, but would not stop sweating.
"That's it?" Alphonse asked, a bewildered look on his face, as he wiped his sweat.
"Nothing fun? You two just ate, sweet talked, and that's it?" Riza asked, arms crossed, eyebrow raised and leaning back on her left foot, which was tapping nervously. She got a nod. "No kiss?" Shuaura nodded. "Geez, you take her coat, hang it up, remove your shoes, clean her dishes, tip your hat, and tell her to have a another jolly fine night?" Riza asked, the light glaze on her confusing Shuaura, who didn't want to mention why he came back so late.
"Didn't I tell you to make your insults simpler, and two of those were right." Shuaura said casually, and he ducked the swing for his head.
"Which ones?!" Riza asked, shocked after getting over her miss but her nervous look didn't fade.
"That's a secret." Shuaura said, but before he could go off to change, he was hit when a letter.
Hello! One of my first and favorite alumni! I request your presence at 2:00 PM on Saturday!
Your Old Principal,
Nezu
There was no chance for him. At all. Shuaura couldn't deny this, he couldn't avoid it. It was Principal Nezu. No one messed with principal. Not a one. He remembered his home room teacher, who enforced this ideal. Mr. Arms always said, "You don't FUCK with Sir Nezu!"
"I'll be going." Shuaura said, trembling a little.
"Perfect, good student." A smaller squeaky voice said as it walked from the shadows. "Perfect." Nezu was terrifying, and that explained why his friends were acting so weird. "Anyway, I know it's early, but you won't be speaking to me, rather Mr. Aizawa." Nezu said, pacing back and forth, all three alumni standing rigid before their old principal. "So then, see you all later!" The principal casually hopped out of the window, and they all held their breath for five minutes. Then everything technology based reactivated.
"WHEW! Why didn't you warn me?!" Shuaura snapped, taking deep breaths.
"We didn't get a warning either! He just fried all our devices, woke us up, and told us to get you!" Riza said, wiping her face.
"I was just sweating!" Alphonse pointed out. "I am a literal inferno, I haven't sweat in four years!" Alphonse snapped, pointing at his now steaming face. "We couldn't have given you more of a warning!" He declared.
"Fine, I'll head there, and hopefully not di…"
"Casual attire please!" Nezu's voice rang out, and they all froze. "Have the rest of the day off!" His voice declared, and everyone was terrified.
The voice cut out, and everyone waited. Shuaura made some hand signals; a thumbs up, pointing up, and a wave. Then he flew off. Alphonse's feet shifted over to their fire form, and he flew off as well. The nurse simply tip toed away, only to be terrified by Nezu's booming laugh and fall over.
Shuaura was flying to his apartment, which was pretty much a cheap backup home in case his office was compromised. Like it currently was. He took a quick shower and changed clothes, before flying to the ground. He blended in rather well, his goggles in his pocket and he set an alarm for 1:45. He walked along, and decided to get something to drink.
As Fuyumi walked out of the grocery store, a rush of wind came along, and her bags floated. She looked up, and found the casual pro hero supporting her bags. "Hey, Todoro!" He said with a teasing tone, blowing her hair up, lifting her glasses slightly.
"Hey, Shushu…" Fuyumi said nervously, testing her own nickname on the hero. When the distinct smell of ozone reached its way to her nose, she smiled.
"I'm taking a water bottle." He said flatly, taking one from a bag and walking off.
"What, hey!" Fuyumi chased down the hero, and she was lifted and brought over to the drinking hero. Just as she pointed, she was grabbed by Shuaura around the waist, and pulled close, a true windshield going up as she landed.
The ground crackled slightly, and the other heroine grinned at the one off duty. "So, Tempest, off duty so quick?" The teasing blonde said, throwing her hair to the side as her ears twitched.
"And the annoying Miruko is taking the time out of her duty to bother me?" Tempest asked the heroine, who laughed.
"I suppose. Who's the chick?" Fuyumi was quiet, and didn't move from Tempest's side, even though he had let her go to have his hands free.
"I'm a civilian right now, this is my friend, and that's all you need to know." Tempest responded, the winds coursing around him.
"Oh no, the powerful wielder of the almighty Storm is powering up!" Miruko said with a mock fear, and Tempest raised an eyebrow.
"I feel like you're forgetting the last time we fought, Miru." Tempest said, his fingers sparking to the instant notice of Fuyumi, who stayed quiet, but raised a finger.
"You mean that time I stood over you as you were battle worn and beaten down, Tempy?" Miruko asked, and a crowd was gathering around the duo, since two pros having a rivalry as open as theirs was a rarity.
"No, I mean the time you lost because you didn't enjoy some cold rain." Now Miruko's nose twitched, and both heroes narrowed their eyes. As the air grew frighteningly cold, Miruko's hair strand was finally lit on fire. Tempest burst out laughing as he flew into the air, and Miruko yelled.
"Since when, what, FIRE?!" Miruko cried, leaping away. A wave of the hand, a dust storm ensued and Fuyumi and Shuaura vanished.
Fuyumi was with Shuaura, who was laughing horribly loud as he held his stomach, flying back to the Todoroki estate. "That was great, Todoro! I was hoping you would do it when raised your finger, but I honestly had no clue if it would actually happen, and whew! That was amazing!" Fuyumi smiled as she trailed behind the off duty hero, who while flying them both fast, he was treating her and the bags gingerly.
"I'm glad I could help, Shushu." Fuyumi said, and the two landed. "Thank you for your help." She bowed, and he did too, and they bumped heads. "Ow… What was that f…" Her head was blown upwards again, to meet his welcoming smile.
"It's not a problem, Todoro." Shuaura said with that smile, and Fuyumi blushed.
"Um, do you want a late breakfast?" Fuyumi blurted out, and Shuaura grinned.
"Sure! Am I still invited over for dinner?" Shuaura asked, and Fuyumi nodded eagerly. Both went in, and together whipped up a quick meal.
As they cooked, Fuyumi looked to him. "Shushu?"
"Yeah?" He asked, watching the pan as he downed another water bottle.
"Who is Miruko to you?" The Todoroki woman asked, and Shuaura laughed.
"She's an old rival. She went to Shiketsu, I went to UA, the first time we fought she absolutely stomped on me, quite literally." Shuaura said with a light growl, tapping his back. "Rematch time later, I hit her with a really big rock." Shuaura said with a grin. "Then she hit me with a really big rock. Then it's been a consistently back and forth with the two of us sparring occasionally and finding new and ridiculous ways to beat one another." Shuaura said happily, actually joyfully reminiscing on some of their more destructive fights.
Fuyumi smiled at his new energy. "How did the last fight go?" She asked. "You mentioned something about cold rain." Fuyumi asked, and he grinned.
"So, one of my abilities is to produce rain. Cold rain, as it takes too much energy and focus to produce warm rain, and I could accidentally steam it and just waste energy if I'm not careful." Shuaura began. "Miruko is a rabbit girl, so she hates cold rain. She hates cold in general, so when I made it rain she rushed me." Shuaura raised his hand, and it began sparking. "I can't produce much electricity, unless I drop a full on lightning bolt, which literally just takes me out. I haven't found a way to fire a bolt without passing out." He explained quickly. "However, with this little crackling I can produce with a little chunk of my energy, I could shock her just enough mid rush due to the water on her, to take her out." Shuaura explained, and Fuyumi nodded in interest as they finished cooking.
After the two casually ate together. It was nice, once again, just the two of them peacefully eating. This time however, they were sitting next to one another. They were trying to restrain their Quirks, focusing on that as they chewed. However, their eyes flitted back and forth, eyeing one another's features.
Shuaura couldn't help but like her white hair, and the bright little red pops in her hair. She had amazing turquoise eyes, and delicate features, but Shuaura could tell something wasn't exactly right after extended sessions, where her family history never came up. He wanted to discuss his assumptions with her, but he decided against it for now.
Fuyumi was looking all over Shuaura as well, loving the color of his eyes. Even windswept, his hair was nice to look at, and she had to love his smile. She had been watching his fights, and consistently been amazed. He was amazingly creative with his ability, and from what she could tell by the sparks and cold rain comments and story earlier, she hadn't even seen the full extent of his abilities. Fuyumi looked over one more time to study his clothes and Shuaura looked over to the gorgeous Todoroki girl for less than noble reasons and the two locked eyes. They both froze, now just staring at one another in an awkward silence.
Shuaura, really feeling insulted about his scared friend mocking him for no kiss, was considering leaning forward. She was just staring right back, her heart beating at a rapid rate while she bit her lip as they studied one another. Before a word could be said, or anything could really be done, the alarm went off. Shuaura began internally screaming, before standing up and letting the fear of his former principal overwhelm his wants in this instant.
"Thank you for breakfast, Todoro." He said quickly, bowing, and shutting down the alarm. "I'll see you later for dinner, and, um, I'll bring drinks." He then awkwardly bowed again, waved, and flew off.
Fuyumi blinked hard, and snapped out of her delusion. She then smacked her cheeks, blushing deeply as she thought about what just happened. And about what may have happened if the alarm hadn't gone off. "Dinner, Fuyumi! Dinner! I need to make a great dinner!" She rushed to the cookbook left by her mother, just as the once again visiting Todoroki climbed down the stairs.
Shuaura kept snapping as he made his way to UA, cursing himself for the ONE TIME he really needed his charisma and conversational skills, they vanished. He landed in front of UA, and walked in.
"Nice to see you again, Shuaura." Aizawa said, sitting down with the hero. Tempest grinned, chuckling.
"Same to you, sir." Tempest responded, and Aizawa put up a camera. "What's that for?"
"A warning. On Monday, you will have a conflict with Class 1-A." Tempest raised an eyebrow. "After the Overhaul incident, the children are shaken. I want to reinforce their goal for the future, but they're growing tired of me. I want you, a young UA alum with a top ten spot to show them that the future is still there, no matter the adversity." Aizawa explained, and Tempest nodded. "I also want you to teach them better ways of how to fight, in the way only you can. So, explain your Quirk to them in this video, just flat basic details, like they would describe theirs, and on Monday, show them your power."
There was a understanding nod, and the camera turned on. "Yo 1-A! It's me, the number seven hero, Tempest, Hero of the Winds!" He began with a mock salute. "Here's a quick rundown on my Quirk, Storm! It's a pretty strong thing, I can create and control all aspects of any type of storm! I prefer wind storms, they're easy to control and take little energy to make! I can do it purely mentally, but I'll take you all seriously, so I'll be using my hands, which allow more fine tuned control!" A light gust blew past. "I can make rain, snow, hail, sleet, all to varying degrees of energy consumption! And of course, a thunderstorm! With lightning, I'm all powerful! Can't wait to fight!" He waved, and Aizawa cut off the camera. Now that that was done, all Shuaura could focus on was what drinks he was going to get for a hopefully special dinner.
I know it isn't Tsuyu, but ever since reading the recent manga chapters, and a friend requesting this, I made it. Bang. I've had some hard writer's block with Tsuyu's and Mei's concepts however, and was really torn on just writing another Nejire. I'm almost done with Mina P2, so chances are that will come first. I'm sorry, it's just a thing. I may do an omake of sorts, and why aren't the first few chapters updated? Cause I'm lazy. It'll be done, soon enough. Yin is the universal name now, and Nin is the universal nickname, for obvious reasons. Later!
