Kite looked up.
'You think so? I wouldn't be surprised to be honest...' she said.
'Think of it,' Pit began. 'Jack Harrison was proud of his capture and every human with such a plan would be. Why don't they show us what they've accomplished? Because they can't. If any authority discovered them, they would get busted. But if it isn't for fame, why did they capture us?' They both thought for a second.
'Money?' Kite was the first to come up with something. 'Because that's all humans are after these days.' Millennia ago, Pit and Kite would give their lives for the human race. But now, now they've faced the dark, greedy side of humans, they started to disgust them.
'It can be money. But how are they gonna get it. Admission to see angels? But who would know if it secret?' Pit asked.
'Maybe they have some "underground" connections. But if they want a greater audience, since they put effort to catch almost every one of us, anyone with interest should be able to find them.' That last part made Pit think. How would we be able to contact them. And if they contacted them, how were they supposed to find their location, let alone save the angels. They should have a plan when they contacted them. But then again, contacting alone would be difficult enough. That was when his eyes caught the building next to him though a window.
'Kite, did you know humans have a device to contact and gain information from all over the world?' he asked. Kite looked up with an uncomprehending look.
'Euh...no...' she said.
'We go to the store next to our hotel,' Pit said, not even mentioning the answer to his own question.
'For what? Pit? Do you have a plan?' Kite merely asked. The brunette nodded and stood up. The two angels walked out their hotel room, locked the door and left the building. With about a step of twenty, they walked through the doors of a store called "Media Markt", which is loosely translated as Media Market.
'I know humans have a sort of system, called Internet. I don't know much more about it, but I know you can access it on a thing called a computer.' Now Kite understood. This store was full of tv's, consoles, phones, and computers. They should be able to access to this "Internet" and search. Since many people visited this place, nobody could track them. Pit quickly found a shiny new laptop and tried to use it.
'Do you know how to use it?' Kite asked.
'Nope...' Pit answered. 'But I can try.' It was very difficult. He found out that the white little arrow indicated what he was doing. But moving it was clumsy. Pit had to sweep his finger over a rectangular place beneath the keyboard. When he managed to move the cursor, he had to find out how to go to the internet.
'What's that?' Kite asked and pointed at the pictogram of a triangle in a box.
'Let's try it,' Pit said as he clicked on it. Suddenly, loud music blared from the speakers. The angels recoiled from the jump-scaring effect of the music. It drew the attention to other customers.
'Euh...sorry!' Pit apologised as he tried to close the music file. His cheeks flushed red. They should be more careful if they wanted to succeed. After some time puzzling, he managed to open an internet browser.
'Yes, finally!' Pit said. 'Now let's put some terms and look for something.' So they said, so they did. Since Woobie (the new Google) was international, they could search in English. They used the terms "angel" "found" "information" "exist" "living" "evidence" and similar words. Several sites popped up. EncyNow (the new Wikipedia) was the first one.
'Look! Our photo!' Kite said as she clicked on it. It was indeed a photo of the angels, taken back in the 21th century. There were older images though, but that were Christian artworks. There were also books. Most of them were fiction, but one title sprang out: The true story behind the discovery of the angel, by Henry Farmer. Both angels looked up. Henry made a book about them? He looked at some text. It was indeed a book about all the events that happed at USC, along with physical facts about the angel. Pit was glad that there was no sign of anything related to the Skyworld. Henry must have known that we'd rather keep it secret, but also inform the world of all the injustice, Pit thought.
'Let's seek further,' Kite said. They scrolled and scrolled, hoping for something suspicious. It wasn't until page 6 that a strange message popped up. It was a post on a blog with photo.
'That's an angel,' Pit said and pointed at the young woman in the hands of an unknown man. The text said: With my new girlfriend 3 she's the most beautiful angel from heaven, literally. Pit and Kite looked at each other uncomprehendingly. How did he even GET an angel, let alone be in relationship with one?
'We must contact him. To ask him where she's from!' Pit said. 'Now let's leave a comment.'
'Wait, but how do we ask it?' Kite asked. 'Just like: "hey where did you get her?"' This made Pit stop for a moment. He didn't think about that. What Kite said sounded indeed a bit rude. Maybe if he pretended to find an angel girlfriend for himself? Yes, that was indeed a good plan.
'I'm going for the I-am-a-single-man-and-need-a-pretty-woman thing,' he explained Kite. She nodded as a sign of approval. He started typing under a guest account, just like the reviews in Fanfiction. She's gorgeous! I wish I had such a pretty girlfriend... ("This is fake, Kite. Don't worry, that angel's nothing in comparison with you") How did you even meet her? I would be the happiest man on the world if I had an angels as girlfriend. Please respond. Pit was done with his comment and clicked on the "send" button. The moment he pressed, a voice boomed through the intercom, startling Pit.
'Attentie, attentie. De winkel gaat bijna sluiten. Wij verzoeken alle klanten de winkel te verlaten.' Pit looked around in panic.
'What did they say? Did they see us? Are we in trouble now?' he started asking at a fast rate. Maybe this was very, very troublesome. Kite burst out in laughter, but Pit didn't know why.
'No, silly,' she said. 'They announced that it's closing time.'
'Oh...' was the only thing Pit could say.
'Now come, tomorrow we check for a respond,' Kite said as she pulled Pit to the exit.
And don't forget to review! I love all my reviewers! You guys are amazing!
