Revenge

"I know there's pain, Why do you lock yourself up In These chains

No one can change your life except for you, don't ever let anyone step all over you"

The door was opened by a fat teenage boy, with hardly any neck at all and an extremely pudgy face. He reminded Remus largely of Vernon Dursley. The only difference Remus could see was that the boy was shorter, and lacked the bushy mustache of Vernon Dursley.

As the boy saw who was at the door, he backed away slowly.

"Dad," He called out. "The freaks are back"

Out of the corner of his eye, Remus saw Sirius' hands clench into fists at what the boy had said.

'Oh boy,' he thought 'this isn't going to end well.'

Sirius pushed his way inside before Vernon could get to the door. The man had none of the confidence he'd had the first time and his eyes where now riddled with fear.

As Sirius stormed in the house, Mr Dursley backed away from him.

"I'm not having any of your lot in my house thank you very much." He stammered. "You took the brat, now leave my family alone"

Sirius opened his mouth to say something, most likely a nasty retort, but Dumbledore cut him off.

"Well the reason we're here is exactly that. Harry is currently in a trauma induced coma due to the abuse and neglect you've been putting him through for years"

"I only gave the brat what he deserved" Vernon spat back at Dumbledore.

Through this exchange Remus had been watching Sirius silently seething with rage, and wondering how long it would take him to figure out that just because he couldn't use magic didn't mean he couldn't give Vernon what he deserved. Vernon may have been bigger than Sirius, but in his current anger and grief ridden state, he had no doubts who would come off second best.

"I don't understand why you all care about that little brat so much. He's a worthless freak."

At these words, Remus and Dumbledore both made a move towards Vernon, but Sirius beat them to it.

He lunged at the overgrown man who, taken by surprise, fell backwards onto the floor. Sirius pinned Vernon's arms under his own legs and his fist connected with the man's jaw.

"How dare you" Sirius spat punching him again "That kid is already twice the man you'll ever be." Sirius punched him several more times before hearing Dumbledore's voice.

"Sirius I think that's enough, he'll get what he deserves."

But Sirius didn't seem to care, he raised his fist to punch the already bloodied face again. Before he could connect however, Dumbledore and Remus grabbed one of his arms each and hauled him off Vernon, who scrambled away from Sirius.

Sirius stared down at the pathetic man and another wave of anger rolled through him. He made to move towards him but Dumbledore and Remus were still holding his arms.

Dumbledore pulled out his wand and muttered a spell under his breath. The fat lump of a man disappeared with a loud pop.

Confusion temporarily halted Sirius' anger.

"Where'd he go?"

"I have sent him to a council, independent of the ministry. They will decide his fate. It's a council used when one requires discretion. They ant talk about what happened during the case even if they wanted to." Dumbledore explained.

"Don't we need to present our case though?" Remus asked, still slightly confused.

"They have whatever evidence they need already. No lawyers or witnesses. Basically just the hard evidence."

"That seems awfully convenient" Remus said looking skeptical.

"Well it is I suppose, only, not a lot of people know about it." Dumbledore explained.

"We should probably go then" Remus said noticing that Sirius now looked as though he was about to fall asleep where he stood.

"Very well" Dumbledore replied, also noticing Sirius.

The two men grabbed onto Dumbledore's arms and the dissaparated again with a loud pop.

They appeared in the living room of the house Sirius had recently bought. It was cosy and warm with a fireplace, several lush maroon couches and armchairs and a small, glass, coffee table. The walls were hung with pictures of the marauders as teenagers,of course, without wormtail, and harry, Ron and hermione.

They hadn't been in the room for two minutes when Sirius collapsed onto one of the couches and fell asleep.

Both men chuckled slightly at this.

"Thank you for letting us come with you today professor. Sirius definitely needed that." Remus said in a hushed tone, so as not to wake the man on the couch.

"Your most welcome my boy, if Sirius hadn't got some of his anger out today I'm afraid he may have snapped."

Remus nodded in agreement.

"Well I'll be off then, I have lots of work to do before the year starts"

With that he turned and left the house.

Sirius arrived at the hospital wing the next morning feeling better than he had in a while. He'd just say down beside Harry's bed when he remembered that poppy had wanted to talk to him.

He knocked on the door of her office, suddenly nervous as he remembered the look on Dumbledore's face the other day, after talking to her. The medi-witch opened the door for him and smiled.

"I see you got some sleep last

night then. How are you feeling?"

"Fine." He replied. "So what was it you wanted to talk to me about yesterday?"

"Straight to the point I see. You might want to sit down for this."

Sirius took his seat across from where poppy was now seated.

"I don't really know how to to tell you this Sirius..."

She trailed off sentence unfinished.

"What is it?" He asked, now beyond worried.

Madame Pomfrey looked him right in the eye knowing Sirius was not going to take this well.

"Harry's dying."
