-Vio's POV-

Twilight and Hanon were in the middle of a heated argument when I returned from book club on Friday evening.

"ARE YOU EVEN LISTENING TO ME?!"

"SORRY, I LOST YOU AFTER 'NICE TO MEET YOU!'"

"THAT'S WHAT I SAID WHEN WE MET!"

"EXACTLY!"

"WHY YOU LITTLE-"

"LITTLE?! I'M SEVEN YEARS OLDER THAN YOU!"

"THAT'S CUTE! YOU THINK THAT I [bad word]ING CARE!"

Finally, I cut in. "Alright, we get it. You hate each other. Now may I get through?"

Hanon blinked. "Oh, were you here?" I smacked my left hand to my forehead. Twilight trudged up the stairs.

We both chatted as she picked up some discarded pots and pans littered around the lamp-lit living room. I believe that my trusted friend's exact words were: "Be glad you were only here for the verbal portion of the fight."

"What were you two fighting about anyway?" I asked Hanon as we both took a seat on the couch. Her blue eyes had been glowing furious demon-yellow when I made my entrance.

"He barked at me."

"Barked?"

"Yup."

As soon as I heard that, I thwacked her shoulder. "'Yup.' Is. Not. A. Word."

She rolled her cerulean eyes. "Affirmative, Sergeant GrammarPants."

We were silent for about the next two minutes- which made the situation rather awkward- until I heard a loud "Sooooo, how was book club? Wasn't it some kind of special fundraising thingamagigger?" I raised an eyebrow, and apparently I do that a lot, because she caught on quite quickly. "Sorry, I mean: 'Was there a fundraising gala I was not invited to this fine evening, young sir?'"

"Stop it."

More silence. Rain made a lullaby of sorts on the roof. I closed my eyes and listened for a moment, or at least I thought, but perhaps it was a longer period of time then I estimated because when I opened my eyes, Hanon was slumped against my shoulder and Shadow was standing over us both. The rain had cleared up and the sky was dark. Since it was early January, I decided that this meant that it was about 5:30 pm.

"Finally, you're up!" Shadow had been tapping his foot quickly. You've been out, like, FOREVER." He poked Hanon. "She is not waking up anytime soon, is she." It wasn't truly a question because we both knew the indefinite answer. No. Hanon could sleep through five nuclear explosions if she felt like it. I carried her back up to her room. We stood there for a moment, then Shadow laughed. "Kinda cute when she's not being a tsundere*, huh?" I nodded in agreement as we exited and closed the wooden door behind us.

"DINNER!" Red yelled from downstairs. We were there in a flash.

-Hanon's POV-

As I faded back into consciousness, I struggled to recall where I was. As I sat up, I remembered the previous scene.

-flashback-

"Hey, Vio?" I poked him. "Asleep. Lovely." I had been kind of tired too, so I tilted my head back and caught a few Zs.

-end flashback-

Vio must have brought me up. I smiled to myself. He's really nice, if you manage to break through the cold, hard shell that is my tutor. Yeah, he tutors me. I don't get Vio-smart without hard work. Vio... he truly is one-of-a-kind, huh? I looked at my wall clock. 11:45 at night. Time for training.

I don't get good at fighting without hard work, either. The others don't know that I come out so late. Not even Vio. Wow, my mind wanders back to Vi a whole lot. I wonder why?

First comes flexibility training. I stretched for twenty minutes then did some parkour in the forest. Nothing says "peaceful and serene nighttime" like climbing up the side of the Great Deku Tree using only small notches in the bark then diving off of it, doing a triple flip in the air, and landing on my feet. My bones are more durable than most. Demon DNA.

Then comes combat. I released the monsters that Sky keeps imprisoned for training purposes. Eight bokoblins, two lizafos. I've gotten over my fear of them, now. Now if only Vio would freaking get over his fear of heights. (That is why being in that tower with Shadow was hard for him. Faking evil wasn't hard. It was the elevation.) If he ever did, I could take him to Skyloft and he could read all of the books that Headmaster Gaepora left behind. Okay, now my brain's Vio focus is starting to tick me off.

I focused more on the last bokoblins and stabbed it. Perfect. The night was perfect. Until the back door opened.

"Hanon, what are you doing out here? It's 2:00 in the morning."

Vio was standing there with his sword, probably ready to slash the monsters that were making a ruckus outside. (Thanks a lot, brain. Now I have to think about him.) He walked over to me and put his hands on my shoulders. "How about we get you to bed? You have bags under your eyes."

I pulled away. "No... have to..." Huh. I guess I was tired. The bookworm got me a glass of water (see, nice.) and took me to my room.

"Good night."

"Night, Vi."

-the next morning-

When I woke up, the first thing I saw was Vio. (Okay, NOW IT'S JUST ANNOYING!) He was shaking me slightly, but I woke up and sat up with a jerk, and we hit heads. "Ow." It didn't sound like he felt it. "Hanon, Shadow's been trying to steal your pancakes for the last hour. I highly suggest that you go downstairs before he accomplishes his goal."

As soon as I stood up, the world blurred and I fell. Luckily, Vio caught me. He reached his hand up towards my forehead. "Warm. Hanon, you're sick."

"No." I sat down on my bed. "No no no. I am Hanon. Hanon doesn't get SICK."

"Tell that to the virus in your bloodstream." Vio put a hand on my shoulder and pushed me back down into lieing position. "Wait here, I'll get some soup."

"Uuuugh."

He smiled and shut the door.

Shadow could have my pancakes for all I cared.

-mini time skip-

When Vio returned, he held in his hands a steaming bowl of potato soup, topped with chives and bacon bits. Red is awesome. I ate like I hadn't eaten in days. Vio was sitting next to me, watching. He chuckled when I spilt a bit on my arm and helped me wipe it up with a cloth napkin he had been carrying, just in case. A few minutes after I finished off the amazing meal, Sky opened the door and walked in.

"Hey, Hanon. Wow, I am still not used calling you by that name."

Vio raised an eyebrow. "Is that not her real name?"

Sky laughed. "No! What kind of respectable Hylian's name is that? It's-"

I cut him off. "Don't. Say. It."

"It's a pretty name!"

"It doesn't fit me!"

"It used to."

"Well I've changed. I am strong now. The shy, wimpy me is gone and you'll just have to accept it." Wow, I felt woozy. I hate being sick.

"Can I just tell him?"

"Fine." I winced.

"Her name used to be Dove."

Vio broke out in laughter, which was rare. "She's right! It doesn't fit her at all!"

I groaned. Ugh. "Vio, I need alone time." I whined, eager to forget the last few minutes. Sky glanced at me skeptically. "Okay, I think I get it. I'll leave." And that he did.

Vio got me another blanket and an extra pillow. "Here." Yeah, is he a man of many words or what? I'd go with "what."

Then from outside we heard a loud BOOM! Things tend to escalate quickly around here. Seriously, it's kind of ridiculous. Blue slammed the door open so hard, it almost came off of its hinges.

"Ghirahim is in the freaking town square!" He screamed. I tried to get up, but I instantly fell down. My head was pounding so hard, I could hear it. "Vio, listen to me very closely," I commanded seriously. "Without me you can't transform, and without your powers, none of you are as agile. I have five sets of 3D maneuver gear* in my closet. Use those. Make sure to destroy them immediately after. Got it."

"Affirmative." He grabbed the equipment from my closet and speed-read through the instruction manual. Then he glanced back at me. "I know you well. Please don't do anything stupid." I nodded. "Do you promise?"

I groaned. "Fine. I freakin' promise." There goes my plan of escaping out of my window. I would probably pass out, anyway, so whatevs.

He left with the others.

About an hour later, I heard the front door open and everyone shuffled in. I only heard silence. Weird. Did something happen?

Vio's familiar footsteps trudged up the stairs, but they were slower. Okay, something definitely happened. He opened the door to my room. The violet tunic he wore was torn and bloodstained. He was sweating like crazy, and when he talked, he sounded hoarse.

"Uuugh... we all yelled so loud out there that every one of us has lost our voice."

I breathed a heavy sigh of relief. "Thank the goddesses! I thought someone might be dead! I do not want this to go down like my friend Madoka's life. This is a happy place!"

He smiled. "Well, I guess we all need rest now, don't we?"

Vio wrapped his arms around me and gave me a tight squeeze. Then he waved and walked out the door.

See? Super nice.
