Author's Note: Sorry for this long awaited update. I had lost all interest and had writer's block in this story but its back. Wow, can't believe it's been this long since I last updated. Anyways, I appreciate all the people who've waited patiently for me to update. Now, time for story time…

The next day happened rather quickly. As usual, Kuroko woke up from his bed, took a rather quick shower, changed to his school uniformed and proceeded to go to the kitchen with his bag, where his mother just made his breakfast. "Good morning, Tetsu." His mother greeted him, flipping the pancake so its side won't burn. She had the same colored hair as him, just longer. She wore the red apron under her work clothes, which was a black buttoned up shirt and khaki colored pants.

"Good morning, mom," he greeted back, taking the far right seat where his pancake laid out and putting his school bag next to him. "How was work yesterday?" He asked her.

"It was rather fine," his mother worked at the airlines. "Although, a few flights were cancelled."

"Hmm? How come?" Kuroko poured the maple syrup over his pancake.

"Something about a big storm in the other cities around Japan." She said, taking out the pancake out of the frying pan and putting it on one of the empty plates on the counter next to the oven.

"Speaking of a storm," he took a couple of gulps of milk before turning to look at the window. Although, he can barely see the sky due to the neighbor's car, he can that the clouds were gray. "Looks like there's going to be one today."

"Yeah, I saw the weather report this morning," she took her apron off. She then took the plate with the pancake and took the chair next to Kuroko. "Said it was going to rain later, possible right after you come out from school." She then poured the maple syrup onto her pancake. "There might be a few flash floods as well."

"Really?" Kuroko put down his fork, gulped down the remaining amount of milk he had in his glass cup, got off his chair and proceeded to put his dirty dishes in the sink.

"Yup, so be careful today, alright?" Like a caring mother, she advised her son.

"I will." He grabbed his school jacket from the coat rack and put it on. He also took the extra black umbrella and placed it in his bag, picking it up and strapping it onto his back.

"Honey," his mother called him before he opened the door to get to school. "Aren't you forgetting something?" With her eyes pointing at the left side, Kuroko noticed he did not put his cellphone in his pocket, almost leaving it on the table where he ate from.

"Oh, thanks." He went back for it, this time affirming its position in his pocket.

"One more thing," she said, placing her fork on her now empty plate. "Your dinner is in the refrigerator already. And don't forget about your doctor's appointment this Friday."

"Yeah, I won't forget." He told her. He then immediately asked her about coming home from work. "You're coming home late again?"

"Unfortunately, yeah." She got up from her chair, taking her dishes to the sink.

"Oh alright," just as he was about to leave, he looked at his mother. "You be careful too." He uttered the same words his mother told him back to her.

"I will," she now uttered his words. "Hold up honey."

Kuroko stopped in the midst of his tracks. His mother went up to him. "Yes?"

"Have you told anyone about-?"

"No," He interrupted her. He then slightly looked at his right hand. It shook rather peculiar before he made it into a fist and put it in his jacket. "I haven't even told Momoi-san yet."

"Are you going to tell them?" She asked him.

"Not yet," he then looked at the wall clock which hanged next to the refrigerator. "I have to go mom."

"Alright then." She saw her boy go out the door. She soon locked the door after he closed it.

As he walked to school, his phone rang. He reached into his pocket, taking it out and answering the phone without looking at the contact. "Hell-"

"WHAT THE HELL DID YOU SAY TO AKASHI, TETSU!?" Aomine's loud voice made Kuroko somewhat remove the phone from his ear temporarily.

He put the phone near his ear again. "Aomine-kun? Is that you?" He asked for confirmation.

"WHO ELSE!?" He yelled once more into Kuroko's ear.

"Stop yelling please." Kuroko told him.

"WHY!?" Aomine asked.

"Because I'm right behind you." Kuroko stood right behind Aomine, who stood in front of his path to school.

"Oh," Aomine ended the call at the same time as Kuroko did. "As I was saying, what did you tell Akashi yesterday?" He still pestered with the same question.

"Murasakibara-kun told you?" He was a bit surprised about that.

"Yeah," Aomine began to walk with his best friend. "I was a bit surprised myself."

"What exactly did he tell you?" Both men came to a stop at a corner, waiting for the traffic light and sign to signal them.

"He vaguely told me that Akashi made you quit the team." The sign changed to that of a walking man, signaling them to walk the street.

"Vaguely?" He asked him.

"Well, I may have jumped to a big assumption," Aomine with his left arm began to scratch the back of his neck. "He only told me that you went to have a chat with Akashi, and that you seemed to act odd afterwards."

"Yes, I did have a chat with Akashi," Kuroko confirmed his chat with Akashi. "No, he did not make me quit the team."

"Alright, for a second ther-"

"I quit the team." Kuroko interrupted him mid-sentence.

"You did what?" Aomine stepped in front of Kuroko, stopping him in his tracks.

"I'm the one that quit the team," he repeated it once more for his friend. "Akashi didn't make me."

"Does Satsuki know you quit the team?" Aomine asked him.

"Yes." Kuroko answered truthfully.

"Was it Satsuki that put you up to this?" Aomine placed his hands over his friend's shoulders, storming him with a bunch of questions all at once.

"No." He answered.

"Was it Carrot!?"

"Who is that?"

"Midorima."

"No."

"Was it Murasakibara!?""

"No, again."

"Was it Kise's scrawny ass!?"

"Nope."

"Ok," Aomine prepared for his last question. "This might sound a bit narcissistic but, did I somehow gave you the impression for you to-"

"No!" He cut him mid-sentence once more. "No one put me up to this, Aomine-kun. And it's only temporary."

"Are you sure?" He asked him once more. And what do you mean by temporary?"

Although, the distance between them and the school were still pretty far, they heard the first bell ring.

"Yes, I am sure," Kuroko moved Aomine's arms off of his shoulders and walked passed him. "And I'll tell you when the time is right. Come on now, we're going to be late for first period."

They speed walked it to school, getting there almost under a minute. They entered the school and made it to their class just before the bell rang, making it there on time.

Aomine took his regular seat as usual near the back on the right side of class, next to the back door. The next seat over, was empty, where the usual Kise sat at.

Aomine looked around the class, realizing that half the class and teacher weren't here yet. Only Akashi, Murasakibara, Momoi, Kuroko and a few other unnamed people. Akashi sat where he always sat, near the window. To his right, like always sat Murasakibara, and the next 2 chairs after him were occupied by Momoi and Kuroko. "What the hell…?"

For the next 2 periods, Deja-vu seemed to have hit Aomine as the same scenario and amount of students with no teacher seemed to have be present. It wasn't until 4th period during art class that a yellow haired member of their team suddenly appeared.

"Where the hell have you been?" Aomine asked as Kise took the easel next to him.

"Doctor's appointment," Kise took one of the painting brush and got to work. "That and lots of traffic due to the storm and what not."

"Why were you at the doctor's?" Aomine asked him.

"For my sister," Kise said, dipping his brush into the green paint. "She got sick last night, and this morning she got worse, so me and my mother took her to the doctor's."

"Ah, what she come down with?" Aomine flailed his hand around, not really giving a crap of what the hell he was painting.

"The flu." Kise said.

"Ah."

The rest of the day went by smoothly the waiting periods of 5th and 6th passed.

As Momoi made her way to the lunch room, she was suddenly grabbed and pulled through an empty storage closet by an anonymous person. "Shhhh…" He covered her mouth. Without hesitation, she quickly elbowed the man to his gut, causing him to let her go and fall to the floor. "OW! What the hell Satsuki?"

"Why the hell did you drag me into here?" She said, flustered and angry at Aomine.

"I needed to know a few things, alright." He told her the truth.

"About?" She asked him.

"About Tetsu." He sat down on the floor, leaning his back onto the wall and still trying to manage the pain inflicted on to his gut by Momoi.

"What about Tetsu-kun?" She asked once more.

"What else?" He rolled his eyes at her.

"Is it about him quitting the team?" She asked, hoping she got the question right.

"Bingo," he no longer held on to his gut. "Why did he really quit the team? Did you ask him t-"

"No! I did not ask him to quit the team for the last time." She interrupted his other question, hearing it for the second time today.

"Somebody already asked you about this?" He raised his eyebrow.

"Yeah, Ki-chan asked me that earlier before this." She pointed at the room where Aomine somewhat kidnapped her into.

"Really?" He was somewhat irritated that Kise had beaten him to ask Momoi about this rather question as well. "Well, what else did he ask you?"

"That's all he wanted to know," Momoi sighed, she then took a seat next to Aomine. "And I too, don't know what's going on with Tetsu-kun…"

"You're telling me that you don't know what your boyfriend, who is also my best friend, did not tell you a specific reason why he temporarily quit the team?" He had a rather poker face type of gesture on his face.

"Yeah," she took another big sigh. "Actually though…"

"What?" He looked at Momoi, who was suddenly stuck in her mind for a bit. "Hello? Anyone inside the brain?" He waved his hand over her face.

"I'm here, it's just…" She responded before going back into a rather deep train of thought.

"It's just what?" Aomine was getting rather impatient with her, prompting him to slightly shake the girl. "SPILL THE BEANS WOMAN!"

"It's just," Momoi finally found the right words to say. "For the last couple of weeks, Kuroko has been acting a bit… weird."

"Weird?" Aomine tried to weird and Kuroko together in his head, but it didn't seem to have big impression on him. "How weird? Cause Tetsu is always weird."

"Not the usual disappear in front of your face weird," Momoi clarified. "It's more body language weird."

"Body language? I can barely understand any other language besides Japanese and English, let alone-"

"NOT LIKE THAT YOU IDIOT!" She smacked him on his head, leaving a small and not really noticeable bump on it. "I mean the way he walks or acts with his body."

"Oh, that kind of language." Aomine rubbed and massaged the mark on his head.

"Yeah." She said.

"What about it?" He asked what was wrong with it.

"He's been… shaky, I guess." She finally told him.

"Shaky?" Aomine's eyebrows furrowed and his mouth was a bit open, almost like he's giving her a preposterous face.

"Yeah, he thinks I don't notice during our dates but I do," she continued. "More specifically, he looks at his right hand the most. I think that's where he shakes the most. Plus, he's been getting tired and fatigued much more quickly than before."

"With you as his girlfriend, who wouldn't get tired of you?" Aomine joked.

"I'm serious, Dai-chan!" Aomine stopped laughing. He saw the seriousness and concerned in her eyes.

Aomine just skipped to the end of her point. "You think he's sick?"

"I don't know, I do kiss those soft lips of his but I haven't shown signs of the things he's done…" Momoi said.

"So he could be sick but not the pass it around sick." Aomine clarified more, thinking it through more.

Suddenly, the 7th period bell rang, startling both Aomine and Momoi as they thought. "I guess we can talk about this more later, after school." Momoi got herself up and proceeded to walk out the storage room.

"Yeah, I guess you're right," Aomine soon followed behind her. "Oi, Satsuki."

"Yes?" She turned around and faced Aomine.

"Keep an eye on him will?" He requested of her.

"I always do."
