Alriiiiiiight...the aftermath of all that drama

Elsa sighed softly as she leaned against the balcony doorway. The cool mountain air blew softly in her face. The storm was at peace. She glanced back into the throne room. Her sister was sleeping soundly next to the guard's makeshift bed. Kristoff appeared beside her and began rubbing her arms.

"How are you feeling?"

"I'm...tired..."

"You should rest...it's been a long day..."

Elsa nodded and rested her head against his chest. "Go with me..." She murmured.

"What you thought I wouldn't?" Kristoff chuckled.

Elsa smirked up at him. "I assumed you wanted to go beat the men in that search party senseless."

"Oh I do...but sleeping with you is probably the only thing I'd rather do-" He choked on his words.

Elsa laughed quietly. "Getting a little ahead of yourself?"

"You know what I meant." Kristoff pressed his forehead to hers. "Besides...it's not that outrageous..."

Elsa's cheek turned pink and she giggled again. It was unbelievable how much she'd changed over the course of a few days. A week ago she would've ran for the hills if a man like Kristoff spoke to her that way. Then again she hardly spoke to anyone a week ago.

"I love you too..." She sighed softly.

Kristoff held her tighter. "I was hoping we'd get back to that."

"Well we've been a bit preoccupied..." Elsa glanced across the room at her sleeping sister. "You think he'll wake up soon?"

"I'm sure he'll be fine...the pain in his leg is numbed by now..."

"But how will we get him down the mountain?" Elsa mused with a small yawn.

"That's something we can figure out in the morning. They'll definitely want to get home soon. Come on..."

They walked out of the throne room hand in hand. Elsa glanced back at her sister one last time. A bit of anxiety pooled inside of her.

What about me? Will I want to go?

Klaus sighed as he open his eyes. He felt something stiff holding his broken leg in place. He groaned as he propped up on his elbows. His leg was concealed in a shaped ice cast that was formed directly form the ice bed. It was cold, numbing the pain in his leg dramatically.

Anna was sitting beside the ice bed sleeping soundly, with her head in her arms. She looked peaceful, and beautiful as ever. Klaus reached forward and tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear. His touch caused her to stir.

"Klaus…" She murmured softly, opening her eyes. "Klaus!" She sat up quickly. "How are you feeling?" She rose and sat on the bed.

Klaus glanced at his ice-covered leg. "I've been better…" He winced as tried to shift himself.

"I am so sorry Klaus…" Anna put her head down.

"Anna…" He reached forward and stroked her cheek. She glanced up at him. "None of this was your fault…you have to remember that…"

She frowned. "But Hans…."

"Hans is an ass. You're too good for him anyway."

Anna laughed softly looking at her hands. "You're just saying that…"

Klaus lifted her chin so she looked into his eyes. "I mean it…Anna….I…."

Anna shook her head. "You don't even have to say it…"

Klaus' brow furrowed. "I…uhm….my apologi-"

She cut him off by brushing her lips against his. He inhaled sharply, before putting his hand behind her neck and pulling her closer. Their kiss was gentle, but Klaus felt Anna's hand gripping his jacket. He tried to shift and winced, making her pull back.

"Oh gosh..." Anna sighed. Her cheeks were red.

"I...I'm...sorry...I..."

"Let's do it again."

"What?" Klaus raised on eyebrow.

Anna leaned forward and kissed him again, and again, and again.

"Anna..." Klaus sighed. "I..." He had nothing else to say as they pressed their foreheads together.

"I've been whining about not knowing what love was all this time...but...love has always been right in front of me. You didn't have to do all of this for me Klaus...but you did...Love is putting someone else before you...isn't it?"

Klaus stared into her blue eyes. "Yes...i think you're...right..."

"You bet I am." Anna giggled for a moment, but frowned. "And...I think...I think I was moving too fast with Hans...in a different sense...I barely know him."

"You barely know me..." Klaus muttered.

"But this...this is different...we're not saying we're getting married we're just..." Anna ran her hand along the lapel of his coat. "...getting to know each other..."

"I'm fine with that."

They both smiled at each other. The sound of footsteps caught their attention.

The queen glided into the room. Her blue gown was replaced by a long, elegant night dress. Klaus couldn't help but stare. A quick glance at Anna proved he wasn't the only one. She was mesmerized by her sister's beauty as well.

"How are you both feeling...?" The queen said softly.

"Fine..." Anna said, standing slowly. "well...I'm fine...Klaus is still hurt...a doctor would help...uhmm..."

"I've made a decision..." Elsa paused. "I'm going back to Arendelle."

Klaus gawked in surprise. This whole mess started because of the queen's departure, but now she was simply going back?

Anna gasped. "You are?!"

"Just until I can thaw the winter...I...I haven't really decided whether or not...I'm going to stay..."

Anna crossed her arms. "Then what's the point?!"

"...What?"

"I didn't come up here to thaw this stupid winter Elsa I came up here for you."

"Anna...you don't understand..."

"No I do understand...you're still afraid...afraid of your powers...afraid of the people...but you shouldn't be Elsa. Because we have something more powerful than your ice...we have love..."

The little talking snowman walked in suddenly. He had been eavesdropping on the balcony.

"ELSA THAT'S IT!"

Everyone turned to him. Elsa shook her head. "What are you talking about Olaf?"

"Love can do anything! Love can thaw the winter!"

The ice harvester stumbled into the room. "What the hell is everyone yelling about?" He groaned, cracking his back.

Anna crossed her arms. "We're talking about going back home."

Elsa sighed. "There isn't much to talk about...I guess...we'll just have to wait and see..."

The ice harvester shrugged. "Alright then..." His gaze was fixed on the queen. Klaus wondered if that was what he looked like, when he looked at Anna. There was enough affection in the glance to knock a man over.

Anna gasped and clapped her hands in delight. Klaus realized it was a good moment to cut in.

"Now that we're all in agreement...how are we going to deal with this?" He gestured to his leg. "I can't exactly ride a horse with a broken limb..."

The ice harvester crossed his arms. "I have a pretty good idea...be right back..." He headed out of the room.

Elsa rolled her shoulders. "Anna...join me on the balcony...this is going to be entertaining."

Anna laughed and followed her sister. Klaus couldn't help but smile at them. They were the perfect pair, finally reunited after all their hardships.

Deep inside, Klaus hoped he fit into that picture somewhere.

Elsa gripped the staircase as the rest of the party descended. Kristoff was helping Anna get the guard -Klaus- out of the palace and onto the sled that they had "borrowed" from the search party.

It had required a little bit of intimidation on Kristoff's part, but all the men besides Anna's former fiancé were willing to part with it.

The prince had failed in more ways than one when he realized Anna survived the fall. He covered up his utter betrayal saying fear got the best of him, and most of the guards seemed to buy it. At least they were pretending too.

It'd taken all of Elsa's power not to throw him off the cliff herself, but she had to remain diplomatic until they got back to Arendelle. Anna knew the truth, and claimed she would take no shame in revealing it when they returned.

"Elsa" Kristoff called up the staircase. "We're all set!"

Elsa took a deep breath. She slowly descended the staircase, counting her breaths with each step. You're going home...where you belong...with your sister...and Kristoff...

As she reached the bottom, Kristoff took her hand. "Are you ready?"

Elsa nodded. "Ready as I'll ever be..." She glanced back at her palace one last time.

"Let's go home..."

WELL...I guess we've reached the second to last chapter. I'm probably going to have chapter 10 be the final installment...just to tie the ribbon on this little story.

Either that or I'll make 11 the Epilogue. I'm not sure yet.

Thanks for reading everyone!
