This is going to be a short chapter i'm afraid... it's been a while since i've done much with this story and I hate to say that D: I finally have my school laptop back up and running! YAY! Which also means that I finally have a program that can type. Anyway I'm sorry that this chapter will be so short, and i'm also sorry that the last chapter had so many errors.. e.e it wasn't like that when I copied and pasted it from the document -.- Complete fail. Anyway I don't own the characters or any of that other shit.

I hope you enjoy :)

Roy was the first one to wake, rubbing his eyes and completely drained from the night before.

"Oww..", he moaned aloud as he questioned why on earth he'd ever sleep in that painful contortion, before seeing a short blonde laying in his lap, holding onto the darker haired alchemist's chest for dear life.

Roy took inventory of how shitty he felt at that moment, noticing his stiff neck and aching back. He also noticed his right leg being asleep from the heavy automail the younger alchemist was forced to lug around all the time. It made a frown run across Roy's face at the thought of his subordinate that was forced to carry around false arms that were way too heavy for a grown man, let along a shrimp.

When Roy finished looking over his own aches and pains, he looked down at the blonde's death grip on his shirt, and then after finally realizing just how tight the grip was, he moved to analyze the boy's composure.

The dark haired alchemist moved slightly to get a better view of the blonde and could faintly make out tear lines across the young alchemist's cheek and the bridge of his nose. The blonde's face finally looked at peace, and the boy's breathing had slowed down a great deal since the night before. He was no longer crying, but in fact he looked almost content.

While Roy was searching the boys face, Edward began to moan and squirmed quite a bit, causing Roy to tighten his muscles and pray to whoever would listen that Ed wouldn't wake up. He knew Ed well, he knew all of his subordinate's well. He was the colonel for a reason, but anyone that had heard of the "Fullmetal Alchemist", knew that Ed wouldn't take well to being seen in such a... "humiliating" position, as Ed would put it. Finally, after about a minute of Roy holding his breath, he realized that Edward must've found a position he deemed satisfying, because he continued his cat-like sleep on Roy's chest.

Roy let out a silent moan, and looked up at the white ceiling and then at his surroundings. He looked over to the bathroom that still had the light on from the night before, and the door that was slightly ajar. Then, he looked over to the window taking in the sunlight and trying to look at the outside scenery from the blinds. The walls around him were a very dull white, and reminded him of a hospital with less light, but then again this was an automail shop. He analyzed the few paintings on the wall, and the hearth and mantle that stood lonesome, opposite the light blue couch that was currently being used by a short blonde and his Colonel.

The sun continued to rise and Roy couldn't help but get a nervous feeling in his stomach. His gut feeling told him that he should be getting up instead of lying in the floor waiting for danger to come to him, but he couldn't quite let himself flurry away from this content and ever-relaxing position. As Roy continued to look around, he noticed Ed's greasy blonde strokes of hair were in scattered swifts contrasting greatly with the dark colored blanket currently laying over the two alchemists. The sunlight shining in from the large window in the corner was currently attacking Ed's hair, making it shine brightly. The raven haired man couldn't help but notice the sun's shadow on the teen's golden locks.

"Just a few more minutes.. Just a few", Roy quietly said to himself as he looked over to the clock hanging on the wall. "It's only 6:30.. It's... not like It'll hurt anyone..."

Roy sat up against the back of the couch and laid his head against the seat, causing his hair to swoosh, and left him with a ruffled mane.

"He just.. looks so content..", Roy said softly and smiled as he began to rub Edward's back. Although, in the back of his mind he knew that if he were any form of the word smart, he would be waking up the rest of his team and getting ready to go.

Roy finally lost the internal fight he was trying to contain, with his conscience and began to try to get up around the small boy.

"I'll get breakfast ready... let them sleep a few more minutes..." but something inside the raven haired man told him that he was only saying that for the sake of a short, stubborn, teenage subordinate.

"..and he says I don't do anything for him" Roy said before turning away and heading into the kitchen, before hearing a snort coming from the tangled mess of what was blanket, and Edward Elric.

Based on the knowledge that Roy was fairly certain blankets couldn't snort, he jumped to his next best guess that Edward was waking up. The colonel took a casual pace into the kitchen, found the pots and pans and continued to make whatever food that was in the kitchen.

The smell radiated throughout the house and before he knew it everyone was awake and gathered around the large stacks of food, taking turns to get breakfast.

The short blonde was the first one to be heard, "You may be a colonel bastard.. but you're not a bad chef." He said smiling wide-eyed at the stack of food on his plate, taller than him.

Mustang looked over to him and raised an eyebrow questioningly, "I think.. I'll take that as a compliment."

Edward was the first to sit down at the rounded table in the dining room/kitchen, and was later joined on the right by Mustang, and on the left by Al. They all said their good mornings, and were then joined by Hawkeye, Hughes, Winry, and lastly Havoc.

Havoc had a cigarette hanging halfway out of his mouth, as always; Hawkeye rolled her eyes at the rude gesture but shrugged it off as it was still too early to care. Al looked happy now that he was surrounded by his friends and family, and took great care in talking before eating his food.

Ed, on the other hand dove right in, which Roy took as a good sign. The short blonde boy looked up from his near empty plate and looked up to see everyone around him talking. Hughes and Winry both looked at the teenage boy that they called their friend and looked stunned as Edward jumped on top of Mustang and rolled him over into the Kitchen.

"EDWA-!", Mustang wailed as the glass to the windows shattered and a dark haired feminine male, landed a perfect flip onto the kitchen table.

Sorry about the cliff- hanger again e.e the next chapter is the one that this story was made for, so I intend to make that one much longer! Also, it will have a great deal or Mushy Ed-Roy Parentalness in it XD and a lot of fighting.
