A/N: I wrote the first sentence as a joke to my friend, and the rest as proof that I am hella metal. AHAHAHHA IN YOUR FACE DONT THINK I WON'T POST THIS CRAP JUST LIKE CHARLIE SHOULDN'T THREATEN ME WITH YOGURT. DONT THINK WON'T DUNK MY HAND IN YOUR CHOBANI CHARLES, BECAUSE YOU KNOW I DID. Anyway, enjoy this chapter and look forward to a super-special chapter 10! Also, note that the rating has been changed to T because of a few language slip-ups.
It was an overcast day. Robin gave up trying to fight the dormant dummies in the gym, and decided to go out for a walk, despite the steady rain. He expected nothing exciting to happen in the wet mess, and stuck to dejectedly staring at the drab sidewalk, barely noticing as it faded into dirt pathways. The forest was calming and the smell of pine (usually comforting) did little to sooth his jumpy nerves. If only he had an opponent to spar against. Someone who fought like him. Someone who understood him. Someone who- "Hello Robin." Robin's head jerked up and his eyes narrowed. "Slade." The only comprehensible part of Slade's face twisted into a playful smirk. "Miss me?" "Miss you?!" Robin spat, indignantly. "You blackmailed me, threatened my friends, and tried to kill me multiple times! Why would I miss you?!" "Maybe because I'm the only one who really understands you? Because I'm the only one who truly cares about you." "Y-you care about me?" Robin choked. "Of course." Slade cooed. "Why else would I always be going after you, when I could pick anyone of your friends?" "I-I guess I never thought about it like that before," Robin mumbled to the ground. "That's why you need me." Slade said. "We complete each other. Come Robin. Come with me and you'll never be misunderstood again." "Why should I trust you?" Robin asked, not wanting to throw away everything he had on a whim. "Because Robin," Slade said. "Because there is no reason why you shouldn't." Although Robin knew he shouldn't, there was something in his gut telling him to just do it. "...all right." Robin said. "But first, we fight." "Of course." Slade slide into a fighting position. "It wouldn't be the same if we didn't.
