Finn walked through the locker room and into the bathroom next to the showers. She splashed some cold water on her face before wandering out to sit on the bench in the back corner of the locker room. She had no idea how long she had been sat in there but eventually she heard footsteps approaching the corner where she was sat. She leaned against the wall behind her and curled her knees up to chest, perhaps a defence mechanism or possibly just because she wanted to hide from the whole world. However when she heard sniffling she spun around, dropped her feet to the floor and twisted her head to try and see if she could hear any better. With no luck she decided to go and see who it was. She turned the corner to find Morgan sat on the floor on the other side of the room. She joined her on the floor and gently wiped away Morgan's tears before looking her in the eyes. "We'll find him, I promise."

"That's what I'm afraid of, what if they've already killed him Finn?" A lone tear runs down her cheek and she brushes it away as she looks down at the floor whilst playing with the zip on her jacket.

"Greg's strong, and he loves you. He is going to do everything in his power to fight for that, don't ever doubt that. You have so many people who love and want to help you. Don't you ever forget that." It's Finns turn to look away. She desperately wipes at the tears which are falling but they just keep coming. She knows she need to be the strong one and she keeps willing the tears to stop falling with no luck whatsoever.

Morgan places a hand on Finns knee. "Look at me, please."

"I can't."

"You've been so supportive of me, and now it's my turn to do the same for you.

Please trust me Finn."

"You should go and help to find Greg, I'll be there in a minute."

"Harriet is working on it, they're doing all they can. They'll call when they need me, please Finn, I hate seeing you so upset."

Finally she turns back to face the younger woman. "It's a bit of a long story."

"I'm listening."

"Well, 17 years ago…"

"Just sign the damn papers Finn."

"Sorry, I've been busy."

"Nothing new then. You know this is why we're getting divorced, it's not because I don't love you , because I do, very much, but you never ever have time for me." He sat down next to her and took her hand. "That's the issue, we don't have time to work out any of our problems."

"I'll have them in by tomorrow, okay." She says as she pulled her hand away.

"Goodbye Finn." He says as he walks out of the office.

Finn finished up her paperwork and went to file it in. She suddenly felt a wave of nausea wash over her and she sprinted to the bathroom. She pulled her hair back and ducked down next to the toilet bowl, subsequently causing her to bring up the entire contents of her stomach. "Shit." She said when she was sure that everything was out. She stood and rinsed her mouth out before she splashed some cold water on her face.

On her way home she stopped at a pharmacy and then drove home as fast as she could. She dropped her bag and went straight to the bathroom.

10 minutes later and she turned over the plastic stick to see two bright pink lines staring back at her. She dropped the stick on the floor and sank down onto the cold tiles.

'Goddammit. This cannot be happening."

Three months later her divorce was finalised and she had put in to transfer to a lab where she wouldn't be doing field work. However after having gone through a divorce and having a busy job she didn't have many friends, which meant she was going through the whole ordeal alone.

She had to stop working at 4 months pregnant, when she started to show. She couldn't let anyone find out and so she waited until the baby was born before she finally accepted a job offer in another lab.

"Push, just once more." Her screams echoed through the room before it went silent. One second later the cries of a baby were audible. The nurse walked away with the screaming infant. "Congratulations Ms Finlay, it's a boy. We'll bring him right in, we're just cleaning him up."

"No."

"No? You wouldn't like to see him?"

"No, I put him up for adoption, the agency can handle everything."

"Are you sure Ms Finlay?"

"Yes, I'm certain."

She transferred to the Seattle lab about a month after she had given birth.

"I'm so sorry that you had to go through that all alone Finn, is this what Russell was talking about?"

She simply nods in response, not feeling strong enough to speak just yet. She wipes the tears away from her eyes and looks back at the younger woman. Morgan envelopes her in a hug, "We all care about you, you don't have to be alone, you can always talk to me. You've been there for me, and I'm willing to do the same for you, anytime."

"Thank you Morgan."

"So, how did Russell find out?"

"Well, it was after a case one day, and this child, boy of 5 years old was put into foster care after both of his parents were shot. I lost it, Russell found me, I was a mess on the floor of the bathroom. I told him everything. He's the only one who knows, apart from you."

"Thank you for trusting me."

"Thanks for listening. Do you want to go back to the layout room? Let's go find your fiancé"

"Yeah, yeah sure." Both women stand and head toward the layout room. They entered the room where Sara and Harriet were sorting through the evidence on the case. The evidence from Catherine's house had all been brought and and the results were coming in, slowly but steadily.

A/N: So, Finns past... should I delve deeper? I really like her character, she seems like she could have a complicated past, which I wanted to highlight here, I hope that comes across and that y'all liked it.

PS. Sorry this is majorly overdue!

QotC: Grissom, Langston or Russell?

AotC: Grissom or Russell, I love them both so much because they are so different.
