HAT: And here's the end of the cliffhanger!
Disclaimer: I own nothing, but the plot and OCs. If I did own Cats, Skimbleshanks would be on screen 50% of the time at least.
"So, I have a second proposition for you... would you like to be apart of my army?"
I blink. "What? Why would I want to do that?"
He still has more patience than I'd ever suspect. "Because I can provide protection and the fact that you're one of my best fighters I've ever had... that and you'll see your friends again, who joined my army after they clawed their way to the top. Elizabeth and Patch."
My ears perk at their names, though I don't want to show interest. "If they're here, let me see them."
"Alright," he mutters before walking to the door and opening it. "Get me Patch and Elizabeth."
"Yes, sir," the hench-cat says, immediately going out to search for the two cats. Soon he returns. "Here they are."
In walks my two best friends in the world and they smile at the sight of me. "Victoria!"
"Hey, guys," I say with a smile.
"Now that you see your friends alive and well... would you like to join my army?"
There seems to be no negatives to this so I nod. "Yes, I'll join your army."
He smiles and rubs my ear, claws grazing the sensitive flesh... tenderly. "Good. Elizabeth will show you your new den and tomorrow you will be assessed to see what job you will excel in."
"Yes, sir," I nod.
His smile becomes a little softer. "Call me Macavity, sis," he says kindly.
I think that this might not be so bad and I smile slightly and try it out for myself. "Yes, Macavity."
He picks me up gently by the scruff and sets me on the ground and nudges me to go to Elizabeth and Patch. I rush over to them and give them a giant hug. They wrap their arms around me and I feel warm and protected. Finally, a touch that doesn't harm anyone. They show me my elaborate room, all white with a little bit of pink here and there and then we go hunting and get some mice.
"I missed you two so much," I tell them.
"We missed you, too," Elizabeth smiles.
Patch nods and then sighs. "After all that fighting and killing... it's actually worth it. This is the life! Macavity's very generous after you've won the Games," he informs, taking the last bite of meat off of a rib. "The only thing that was missing was our final friend."
I blush and they smirk, my white fur easily showing the hint of pink. "I'm sure. So what's the assessment like?"
They shrug. "You answer questions," Patch says.
"And spar with someone and then you're pretty much done," Elizabeth finishes.
"Sounds easy enough."
"It is. Especially the spar," Elizabeth says.
I nod, knowing that a spar's going to be the easiest thing in the world after all that fighting. I think I didn't fight before I started this, but is's so difficult to remember... Either way, it doesn't matter about the past now, all that I have to worry about is getting my new occupation and just being apart of the army... my brother's army. The rest of the day's spent talking, catching up with one another, and a tour around the place, save for the place where we were held for most of our stay here. Once that was done I collapsed on my bed and fell asleep.
HAT: And that's it! I know you're probably complaining about the chapters being too short, but oh well, you've got to live with it!
Cassandra: That's not very nice.
HAT: I know, but that's just how I am.
Cassandra: I know.
HAT: Would you please say it?
Cassandra: Please review.
