The panda stood next to a bunny, who was walking around angrily, waving his arms.

"Ah! Stupid dholes! Messing up my jujube farm!" The bunny groaned, pulling a cart of damaged jujubes. His expression was furious, not sad like the other villagers. The panda gazed at him sadly.

"Father, need some help?" She asked, looking concerned. He let out a huff and shook his head.

"No, darling, but thank you," he replied, smiling at her. "I just need to get these somewhere safe." He continued to pull his cart, and she watched him go, dipping her head, frowning. Two little bunnies, one gray and one beige, ran up to her.

"Biyu, Chunhua, father told you to stay inside!" The panda scolded. The two bunnies, both girls, grabbed onto the panda's robes and tugged on them.

"Aww, but sis, we want to fight those dholes!" The gray one exclaimed.

"Yeah! Where are they!" The beige one shouted, kicking her legs. The panda let out an exasperated sigh and picked up the two squirming bunnies.

Curiosity got the better of Po and he approached her. He was nervous, his body shaking. He didn't know what to say to her. He brainstormed some things to say in his hello. "I'm a panda, you're a panda!" No, that sounded weird. "Hey, you're a panda, right?" That sounded stupid. "Are you a survivor of the panda massacre?" Definitely not, that was way too tactless.

He got closer. "H-hi" was all he could stutter. She looked at him, her eyes growing wide and a gasp escaping her mouth.

"O-oh!" She said, the bunnies jumping out of her arms. They squealed and ran away. "N-no, Biyu, Chunhua! Come back..." She watched them run away, but then quickly returned her expression back to Po. "I, um, I, you're a panda, I'm a panda! I've never seen a panda, except me, of course." She responded, fumbling with her clothes, straightening them out. Po smiled and put a hand out.

"I'm Po," he said. The panda looked at him, adjusting her bamboo hat, then shook it. Po had never felt hands that were similar to his. He took a deep breath. "What's your name?"

"Oh, hi Po, nice to meet you Po, I'm Jinyin," the panda responded, her gaze meeting his. They stared at each other for a moment. She had brown eyes and a light brown muzzle.

"Hello Jinyin," Po responded. He looked over at the two bunnies, who were play fighting. "Those your sisters?"

Jinyin nodded. "Yes! Their names are Biyu and Chunhua. They're a handful, but I love them." She shrugged, chuckling, then looked back at Po. "You're not from around here, are you? I mean, of course not, I've never seen you before..." Her voice trailed off. He nodded.

"I'm from the Valley of Peace," he replied. Her eyes grew wide.

"Oh?" She grinned. "So you must be the Dragon Warrior!" She clapped her hands, looking excited. "I've heard about you, and how you're a panda!" She gazed happily at him. "How surprised I was to hear about another panda, what with the whole thing that happened..." She realized she just made things awkward and closed her mouth. Po frowned.

"You're... A survivor too?" He asked. She looked back at the bunny with the jujubes.

"Yes, that's my father," she said. "I'm adopted, of course." She laughed, but in her eyes there was only sadness.

Po tilted his head to the side. "What about your mother?" He asked. She looked at her feet.

"She died from an illness a few years ago, not long after she had my sisters." She replied. "The doctors tried to help her, but she was too sick." She sighed, wiping her eyes.

"Oh! I'm really sorry." Po told her. He shifted awkwardly. This conversation had gotten really personal really fast.

Jinyin quickly changed the subject, obviously not wanting to talk about her adoptive mother. "W-well, what about you? Who do you live with?" She asked.

"Well, I live in the Jade Palace now, but I was raised by my dad! A goose. He owns a restaurant where he makes the best noodles ever." He replied. A large smile then spread across his face. "Hey! Maybe I can make some for you sometime?"

Jinyin nodded. "That sounds lovely," she responded, rubbing her belly. "I'm always hungry!" She grinned. "Hey, can you show me some Kung Fu?"

Po smiled. "Definitely!" He stepped back, putting one arm out. "Prepare to be amazed!" He said. Jinyin watched intently, a small smile playing on her face. That moment, he brought his arm back and jumped up, kicking the air. He landed and kicked one leg out, spinning around and jumping up and doing a flip. He threw a punch to the air, drawing a circle on the ground with his foot and tapping his hands together, kicking his foot up as high as he could and touching it with his hand. He swished his arms back and forth and ended in a Kung Fu pose. Po breathes heavily and looked at her, who looked amazed. Some other civilians were gathered around them, and they all started clapping. Feeling proud, he jutted his chest out, soaking in the praise. "Thank you, thank you," he thanked.

He felt a paw on his shoulder. He looked around to see Tigress looking at him, irritated. "This is not the time to be showing off," she growled. Po grew excited and pointed at Jinyin.

"Look, Tigress!" He told her. Her eyes grew wide when they landed on Jinyin.

"A panda?" She asked, shocked. Po grabbed Tigress' arm and brought her over to Jinyin.

"Jinyin, this is my best friend, Tigress! Tigress, this is Jinyin, a panda!" Po introduced them. They shook hands.

"It's nice to meet you, Jinyin," Tigress dipped her head. Jinyin place a paw over her mouth and giggled, dipping her head as well. Tigress lifted her head and shot glances at both of them. "Do you two know each other?..."

They shook their heads. "Nope! Just met." Po answered. He hoped up and down excitedly. "But Tigress, a panda! I'm not the only one!"

Tigress chuckled and smiled at him. She was happy he met someone of his own kind. It made her feel a little sad though. She had never seen another tiger.

Po looked at Jinyin. "Can I introduce you to all my friends?" Po asked. She rapidly nodded her head.

"Yes, definitely!" She replied. Po beamed and ran over to the others. Tigress laughed and continued to walk around, checking the villagers' injuries.

One pig was bleeding from the head. She kneeled next to him and turned to the goose next to her. "Fetch me some water, please," she asked. The goose nodded and flapped his wings, flying away. The area around the laceration was inflamed. It didn't look deep, but the pig was visibly distressed.

"They just came, and it seemed like in a second, they were gone! But they caused so much damage." The pig exclaimed, his body shaking. "They stole my sword... I had a sword from my grandfather. I never used it, but they stole it." He explained. Tigress nodded, and the goose returned with the water.

"This is gonna sting," she said, and the pig braced himself. She poured a little bit of the water on the wound do clean it. The pig winced, and she poured a little more on. Once it was clean, she wrapped a bandage around it.

"Can you tell me where they went?" Tigress asked. The pig pointed to the north, farther into the mountains.

"They went out there somewhere," he answered. "Thank you for helping me."

She nodded. "Of course," she responded.

Crane soared high above the mountains, scanning the ground for any signs of the dholes. He didn't see anything. He was afraid they were too late, until he noticed something. He squinted his eyes and dived down, landing on the ground. It had snowed recently, and he saw paw prints. They were dog shaped.

He started to follow them for a little bit. He wanted to be sure they were actually the dholes before they set out looking for them. There only seemed to be one set, so he frowned, thinking it was only one lone traveler. That was until something caught his eye. It was a piece of cloth stuck to a thorn bush. He picked it up, examining it, and gasped. It was torn, as if the animal had brushed against the bush and it tore off without them noticing. On the cloth was a design that was partly cut off. It had a picture of part of a snout with fangs. It was the dholes! He looked in the direction of the paw prints and noticed more tracks leading away. Crane took off into the air, clutching the evidence in his foot.

After Po had introduced Jinyin to his friends, they sat off to the side, talking about each other. Po found out Jinyin loved to eat, which didn't surprise him, due to her being a panda. Aside from that, she helped on her father's jujube farm and sometimes ran the stand for him when he was busy. After her mother's passing, she took the role of the mother for her little sisters. She played with them, told them bedtime stories, and was their inspiration. She could also play the erhu, and she promised to play it for Po someday. She was very sweet and caring, with a kind aura radiating from her. She was timid but she seemed to grow comfortable quickly around Po. He liked that.

He told her about how he used to work at his father's noodle shop, until one day he was chosen by Oogway to be the Dragon Warrior. He told her about how he was ridiculed at first by the people he now called his best friends. He told her about his training, his fight with Tai Lung, and when Lord Shen came close to taking over China, he found inner peace and beat him. Jinyin seemed absorbed in it all, extremely interested, leaking forward in her seat, her ears pricked and pointed to him. She asked him to show him some more Kung Fu, and he did, going slowly so she could follow and even try it out herself. She wasn't too good, but she laughed anyway, her eyes closed and her mouth wide open. Po laughed along with her. It felt amazing to meet someone like him.

Two lambs ran up to Ezuoju, poking his legs. "Who are you?" One squeaked.

"Yeah, why are you handcuffed?" The other asked. Ezuoju opened his mouth to reply, but then that lamb shouted, "are you one of the bad guys who kidnapped the Emperor's daughter, and then the Dragon Warrior caught you and now you're in huge trouble with them?!"

That moment, they started to kick him in the shins. He stepped back, yelling at them to stop, but they just jumped forward and continue to beat his legs. He tried to shake them off, but one sunk his teeth into Ezuoju's leg and he let out a cry of pain.

"Hey, hey, hey!" A voice said. Ezuoju looked over desperately to see Mei Ling walking over. She stopped at them. "What are you doing?"

"Attacking the bad guy!" One of the lambs replied. Mei Ling smiled, rolling her eyes and picked them up off of Ezuoju and placing them on the ground behind her.

"Thank you, kids, but we can handle it from here," she told them. "Now go along and have some fun, okay?" She waved her hands in dismissal and they tittered, running off. Mei Ling sighed and turned to Ezuoju.

"Heh, thank you," Ezuoju thanked, smiling. His legs felt warm, and he could tell he was going to have bruises. The one who bit him didn't break the skin, but it was definitely inflamed. Mei Ling looked him over.

"Crane told me about you," she told him. Ezuoju snickered.

"I'm pretty sure he's got the hots for you," he joked. Mei Ling smiled, but she also looked annoyed.

"I've got my eye on you. I don't trust you, but I'm generous enough to give you a chance to redeem yourself." She growled. Ezuoju sunk back, surprised. From what he had seen earlier, Mei Ling definitely did not look like the type to get angry.

"Alright, I get it," he looked away, her fierce gaze making him uncomfortable as it burned into his skin.

The sound of labored breathing came from above. Mei Ling turned to see Crane landing on the ground. Mei Ling sprinted up to him.

"Crane, are you okay?" She asked, worry in her eyes. He nodded, out of breath, and Tigress raced over.

"What happened?" She questioned. Crane regained his normal breathing pace and handed the strip of cloth to Tigress, who examined it thoroughly.

"They heading up the mountains, I found their tracks." Crane told her. Tigress took a deep breath and beckoned the others to come. They did.

Po noticed her gesture and stood up. "I gotta go," he said, running over to Tigress. Jinyin reached her arm out after him, but brought it back because she knew Po's duties came first.

Once they were all gathered around, Tigress held up the cloth. Po gasped and covered his mouth with one hand and pointed at the cloth with the other. "The sign of the dholes!" He said. Tigress nodded.

"We need to find out where they're going, but none of us know the area around here." Tigress looked at Po. "Po, bring Jinyin over." Po's eyes grew wide and he ran back over to Jinyin.

"You gotta come with me," he said. Jinyin stood up, curious but nervous. Po turned and ran back to the group, Jinyin quickly following him. They stopped at the group, and Tigress directed her attention to Jinyin.

"What village is to the north of this one?" Tigress asked.

"Báisè de Huā," Jinyin responded. Tigress nodded.

"The dholes must be heading there next," she stated. "No one knows this area like you do, Jinyin. We need you to take us up there."

Jinyin stared at her with wide eyes, taking a step back. Po was afraid she would refuse, but he had faith in her. "I-I gotta go ask my dad," she stuttered, turning and running toward the direction her father went. Po beamed. How cool was it? Not only did he meet another panda, she was going to help them on their mission!

"At the rate they're moving, we might not be able to reach them in time before they raid Báisè de Huā," Tigress noted. The others gazed at her, concerned. "It'd be best if we went after them immediately."

Jinyin ran back, gasping for air. "He said… I can go… come on!" She waved her arm forward and they followed her as they headed toward Báisè de Huā.
