So thank you random guest reviewer because I decided to continue because of you. It's not that I ever planned on not continuing. Life just happens for me sometimes and I know that I take forever to update, but I will try harder this time. I have 2 kids ages 1 and 3 and a job 25 hours during the week, plus all their things they have and I have to have time for my husband and myself as well. So, I try but sometimes I don't have time to write. Anyway, thanks to all the reviewers.

I don't own avengers or the characters.

Also Iron Man 3 was awesome and I loved the hilarious little boy and the end scene with Bruce.

Steve came back from his nightly run satisfied but exhausted. He quickly jumped in the shower and then made his way to his floor in the Avenger's tower. He entered his bedroom tiredly, but the lights didn't automatically turn on as was normal in his technologically advanced home. He hesitated in the doorway. It wasn't that he was afraid of the dark. He wasn't a child, but the Avengers had enemies and the last thing he needed was to walk into an ambush as exhausted as he was at the moment.

As his eyes adjusted, he noticed someone standing perched against his bedside table. "Um... Hello? Who's there? Can I help you with something?"

"J, hit the lights." The voice was distinctly Tony Stark.

"Tony? What's going on? " Steve asked as the lights turned on.

"Jarvis is back." Tony replied in a tense quiet voice.

"That's great!" Steve said enthusiastically. He waited for Tony to say something else, like why he was in his bedroom in the dark, in the middle of the night, but his teammate remained silent. A silent Tony was unnerving. "W-was there something else, because I just got back from a run and I was heading to bed?"

"I wanted to show you something, ask you something, and then well let's just see where it goes from there." Tony replied seriously.

"Are you propositioning me?" Steve frowned.

"Definitely not."

A sigh of relief left the captain. "Good because I'm not interested and you're dating Bruce."

A look crossed Tony's face that Steve couldn't interpret. "I am and I'm not interested in you either. No. We need to discuss this video footage. Jarvis, play it."

Surveillance footage began playing. "Is this the tower?" Tony nodded. "This is really high quality. I mean of course it is, because this is YOUR home, but wow. It's amazing. Everyone should have- Is that me?" Again Tony nodded tightly. The video display showed Steve plugging a small device into a computer. "Is that what this is about? The avenger's alert device?"

"The what?" Ton asked quietly.

"The alert device that Fury asked me to plug in so we can be alerted whenever we're needed."

Tony took a couple deep breaths. He pulled out the tiny USB skateboard. "You are taking computer classes."

"Why? Tony, what-"

"This device transplanted a virus into my system that allowed S.H.E.I.L.D. to attempt to access my entire empire. It allowed many people to be injured and it made JARVIS die!" Tony attempted to remain calm, but by the end he was close to yelling.

"I'm not dead sir." JARVIS reminded them of his presence. "And as it seems Mr. Rogers did not understand the depth of what he was doing, I am assuming I am now allowed to speak to him."

Tony nodded, agreeing, if somewhat reluctantly, with what JARVIS was stating. "When I asked if anyone was involved, why didn't you mention this?"

Steve sat down heavily on his bed. "I had no idea. How could something so small do so much damage. I swear I didn't know. You thought I did this willingly? On purpose?"

Tony grimaced. "If it's any consolation, Bruce thought there must be an explanation."

"Not really. The son of one of my closest friends thinks I would be a part of corporate espionage to destroy his company and his JARVIS." Steve huffed in annoyance.

Tony rolled his eyes. "If you want me to like you, then you really need to stop mentioning the one man who I hate above all others."

"He was my friend and he was your father. How can you hate him so much?" Steve asked in exasperation.

Tony scowled. "Not everyone should be a parent. He was not a good father. In fact, he was a terrible one. I am not going to give you examples, so don't ask. I am a different person and you need to get that through your head. Stop comparing us. Stop trying to find him in me. Stop, because you won't. He cared about nothing by the time I came around, especially not me. I want to be your teammate. I would like to try to be your friend, but I can't do that if you keep bringing him up and mentioning him and reminiscing about him. Just stop! I can't handle it. I can barely handle having people here in my house, making new friends, trusting people. You are making this vastly more difficult. I will help you find out about the other people you once knew. I will even help you locate them if any of them are still alive, or their relatives if they are not, but I won't talk about my father, I will not talk about my mother. I can not help you with that, because I can't handle it." Tony took a few deep breaths to catch his breath after his fast-talking spiel. "So, deal?"

"Alright. Deal." Steve replied. "But I have one stipulation." Tony waited patiently while Steve formulated his words. "You obviously don't like him and I may never understand, but please stop seeing him when you look at me. If you can do that-"

"I can try."

"Then you have a deal."

Bruce was trying very hard not to go after his boyfriend. He had left for a conversation with Steve 53 minutes and 16 seconds ago. "Relax Bruce. JARVIS would tell you if something had happened." he told himself.

"He most certainly would have." Tony said from the doorway. Bruce turned and smiled. Then after seeing the tension in him, gave him a comforting embrace. "I told you not to worry." Tony complained into his neck as he kissed him.

"And apparently that was pointless, because I did anyway." Tony chuckled and nuzzled into Bruce's neck. "How'd it go?"

"Hmmm? Oh, as good as it could, I suppose. Spangles is going to take a computer class so he knows the difference between an alarm and a USB drive. He's going to stop mentioning my father at every turn. I'm going to help him find out what happened to his friends and we are going to attempt to become better teammates, maybe friends." Tony explained as he knocked them both onto the bed and climbed on top of Bruce.

Bruce smiled. "I'd say that went very well then."

"Maybe." Tony chuckled. "Can we stop talking about Captain Buzzkill now? I'm attempting to seduce you."

Bruce's smile faltered slightly. "You said you aren't ready Tony."

"Well, I never will be if I don't at least try."

"But-"

Tony kissed him. "We both have one. Now, stop thinking." Tony slid his hands under Bruce's shirt and removed it slowly. "God, you are sexy."

Bruce blushed. He hesitated slightly, then reciprocated, removing Tony's shirt just as slowly. "You're sure."

Tony closed his eyes for a minute. "N-no, but we can try, right?"

"Okay, but you say the word and we stop, alright?" Tony nodded as his shirt came off. "You're so beautiful Tony. God, so so beautiful." Fingers trailed across Tony's body as Bruce caressed him.

They continued to explore eachother's bodies with their hands and their mouths. Bruce's hand went lower, towards Tony's belt, fingering the metal silently asking for permission to go further. Tony tensed and Bruce removed his hand, but Tony didn't relax. "Tony?" His eyes were unfocused and his breathing was heavy. "Tony! Look at me. It's Bruce. Tony!" Bruce snapped his fingers and Tony focused his eyes, confused for a moment. Then he went pale and bolted for the bathroom. Bruce sat on their bed for a moment, silently cursing his actions, then followed.

The door was locked. "Hey. You alright?" The sounds of Tony being sick came through the bottom of the door, but Tony didn't answer. "Sweetheart? Let me in. Please?" Slowly the sounds stopped and the door unlocked.

Tony was sitting on the toilet, covering his face with his hands. "I'm sorry."

"It's okay. Are you alright?" Tony didn't answer. "This wasn't your fault Tony. We went too fast. I shouldn't have agreed to this. Last night you told me you weren't ready. I don't know why I agreed. That's a lie. I agreed because I want you, because I love you, but I should have better control. God, I'm so sorry sweetheart. I'm so sorry."

Tony removed his hands and stared at him. "You-Why are you apologizing? I freaked out because I'm pathetic and worthless and you're apologizing. You deserve someone else. You are too good, way way too good for me. No. Don't interrupt me. I need you to understand. I have issues and I'm the one who initiated this, not you. I wanted to try, because it's not fair to make you wait for something that may never happen. I got farther than I thought I would, but I'm sorry I couldn't go further. I want to keep trying and this will probably keep happening, but it is not your fault. If I can't do this, if we can't be together like that, then I need to know. You deserve to have that. You deserve to have everything and if I can't give you that then-" Tony swallowed audibly. "Then you deserve someone else. I- I have issues, major issues but I won't bring you down with me." Tony got up and kissed Bruce on the cheek gently. "I love you too much for that." As Tony walked past, Bruce grabbed him and spun him around. "Bruce?"

"What makes you think I would ever let you go? You may have issues, but we can work on it. If we can never be close in that way, then I still want you in every other way. I love you and you are mine. Now and for as long as you'll have me. You are not worthless. You are not pathetic. You are brilliant and wonderful and I hate that you think so little of yourself."

Blushing, Tony smiled shyly. "I don't know how I ever found someone as perfect as you. I don't know how I'll ever deserve you, but thank you for being here. For being you."

"We'll work on it Tony. Together. I promise."

Tony smiled as Bruce laid him in bed and curled up beside him. "Okay. Together."

So, sorry for the long wait, but how was that?
