Author's note
I Don't own Danny Phantom, only Krissy Fenton/Phantom
OK, here's the next chapter. I'm beginning to realize that a lot of events sorta take place around the same time as I originally started this thing. I guess it is, so let's just say Danny has his Ghostly Wail and Ice powers. As in, a few things have already happened in the series since this thing started. Sound good? Mostly, I just wanted to use them. Hope you like!
Chapter 9: I wanna Lair
Sam (POV)
I watched in horror as Krissy sank to the bottom, limp and unmoving. Skulker seemed confused. He had the bars removed and the water ceased to rise. He floated above the water, staring down at the small, dark figure. He turned to me, glaring angrily. Suddenly, there was a bright flash of light from the water, and Krissy shot out it and latched onto Skulker, pounding on him with her fists.
Skulker lurched forward, bumping into the tree I was in, and I swung crazily on the rope. Krissy launched herself into the air, hovering. That's when I realized it. She had on a hazmat suit like Danny's. It was all black with white gloves, boots, collar, and belt. It had a black hood and bandanna, a white emblem on the chest, and her eyes were neon green.
She really was half-ghost! But how?! Krissy shot in front of me.
"Prepare yourself. I'm gonna destroy this hunk of junk." She growled out, glaring down at Skulker. I quickly nodded. She extended her hand until it pointed at Skulker. It looked like a finger gun, except her thumb was parallel with her pointer finger.
"Hey Skulker. Never mess with a Phantom." she snarled. "Ha-di." she finished. Skulker's armor exploded! Krissy flinched as some shrapnel came our way, but she shielded me from it all. Skulker was now in his ghost form. He looked up fearfully at Krissy. She grabbed him by his legs and held him tight.
"You have seen a small sample of my power. Beware, Skulker, beware." she hissed in his face. He trembled with fear, and she turned and drop-kicked him deeper into the island.
When he was out of sight, her erect posture and ferocious expression slid away, until I saw nothing but the wet, tired, worried Krissy I know. Besides the floating and glowing, of course. She floated over to me and began fiddling with the cuffs.
"Are you okay?" she asked, worry and exhaustion clear in her voice. I began to nod but she was knocked away by an ectoblast! I turned to see Danny posed to blast her again, and Tucker right behind him in the Specter Speeder. Leaping to her feet, she flew towards me, but Danny blasted her away again. This time, she held her ground, as Danny began to approach her.
"Who are you?" he demanded harshly.
"Look at my emblem." she replied. It was a white, blocky 'P' with a backwards facing 'K' attached to it.
"I dunno, 'Kitty Princess'?" answered Danny sarcastically.
"Try, Krysalia Pearl. Bye!" on the last word, she streaked off into the Ghost Zone. Danny came and and undid the cuffs, and I climbed into the Specter Speeder with Tucker.
"Are you okay Sam? What happened?" asked Tucker.
"Krissy and I were in Danny's room. Skulker came and dragged us into the Ghost Zone. He handcuffed me, and took Krissy off to somewhere. He was looking for an amulet."
"He captured Krissy, too?" said Danny slowly, turning in the direction the ghost-girl had fled.
"Wait a second, what are you trying to say?" asked Tucker, narrowing his eyes at me.
"I think Krissy is half-ghost." I answered. Danny turned sharply.
"What?! How would that have even happened?" he asked sharply, shock and worry covering his features.
"I don't know, but we have to find her, don't we? She'll just get lost out there." I answered. Danny nodded and we began to search. As we went, I relayed what had happened, starting with Skulker barging into the room, and ending when the guys showed up.
"So let me get this straight. She pointed at Skulker, said some gibberish and his suit exploded?" asks Tucker.
"Yep." I answered.
"I don't know any other ghost that can do that. How can she be more powerful?" Danny says. I shrug and keep searching.
Krissy (POV)
Meanwhile...
I had fled into the Ghost Zone after Danny attacked me, but I'd gotten myself lost. There were hundreds of thousands of floating purple doors, and floating islands and rocks and other stuff. I tried to follow my energy trail back, but since it was overlayed with ghost energy, and I was in the Ghost Zone, well, you can guess. I had yet to track my own ghostly energy trail.
I floated around until I noticed a large, black, fanged ghost wolf thing, racing towards me, shouting in some other language. I fled, opening the next door I came to and dashing inside, shutting the door behind me. I remained still for several long moments before calming. I stood up and glanced around at this place.
It had a stage at the far end of the room, with high ceilings and a hallway off to the left, that probably had more rooms. Directly in front of the stage was a big cleared space, stretching about 20 feet before several chairs, like move theater chairs, took over, 5 rows of chairs with 4 chairs per row.
On the stage was a drum set, a microphone in the front, and two guitar stands holding guitars. It looked like someone was about to throw a pretty sweet concert, but there was no one around. I heard a door slam off to the left, and in walked Ember, her blue hair flaming brightly. She had her guitar in hand, leapt onto the stage, and began to shout.
"Hello, Ghost Zone! Tell me who you love!" she shouted, and I could barely resist answering. I love songs and things.
"Ember! Ember!" I shouted back. She nodded her head, grinning, before that grin morphed to a confused frown. She finally spotted me, and she did not look happy.
"Hey, you, in the black and white, who the heck are you?" she shouted. I began walking around the chairs until I was looking up at her.
"My name is Krysalia Pearl. And I prefer Ebony and Ivory. You're Ember, right?" I answered. Ember nodded, looking like she'd rather blast me out of here or something.
"Your songs are pretty sweet. Do you think we could play something together? Like, make something up?" I asked, being as polite as I could. Ember seemed lost in thought, then nodded enthusiastically.
"Sure, kid. Let's see what you got. Do you play?" she asked, motioning towards a guitar.
"Not really. I tried drums before, but I always mess around with what I have before actually sounding good." I answered. Ember nodded and floated towards the nearest seat, sitting and motioning for me to play something. I walked over to the first guitar, running my fingers over it experimentally, before turning to the drum set.
I tapped at all of the different drums and cymbals with my hands, then started tapping out a rhythm. Duh duh, duh duh, du nu nu nu, repeat. Soon, Ember flew up onto the stage and began strumming, and I altered the beat a little to match her flow, and I began singing under my breath.
"I fought for all my worth, but was shot down.
I thought that I would be saved, but all I saw was his frown.
I did my best to carry on, but my efforts were lost and gone.
I shall keep fighting, until I'm struck down." I stopped when I realized Ember had stopped.
"Why'd ya' stop?" I asked.
"What were you singing?" she asked.
"I dunno, I was just making something up. I like making stuff up. It's fun." I answered.
"Come on and take the mike then, baby-pop. Let's see what you've got." she replied. I walked over to the mike and adjusted it some.
"If you don't mind, I'll start playing to your song." Ember asked.
"I don't mind. What should I sing about?" I asked. Ember thought about this for a moment before answering.
"Why not something about you and your life?" she answered. I nodded and thought over the words, then began.
"I am soaring through the sky,
Leaving all my troubles behind,
I always knew I could fly,
Counting the stars I can find.
/
I leap onto the moon,
My friends shout for me,
And I call 'soon, soon, soon',
I'm looking for the key.
/
So many things to find,
So many things to discover,
I hope y'all don't mind,
I'll do it one way or another.
/
I am soaring through the sky,
Leaving all my troubles behind,
I always knew I could fly,
Counting the stars I can find.
/
The sun begins to rise,
And the stars begin to disappear,
They were return tonight just like a prize,
And that's why I hold no fear.
/
I shall go home tonight,
Rest for the coming fights,
The power of flight,
I'm kicking it, with all of my MIGHT!' I shouted on the last word, then broke off. Somewhere in all that, Ember had started playing, and she sealed the deal with one last sweet riff.
"Not bad, baby-pop. You're pretty good at this. Wanna do this again sometime?" asks Ember.
"Sure, this was fun. I kinda wish I had my own lair. Your's is sweet." I answered.
"I could help you find an abandoned one. Mine was abandoned, and I just fixed it up." she replied.
"Really?"
"Really, baby-pop." she answered with a grin. So we left her place and began searching out abandoned lairs. First we tried Embers way, where we peeked into the lair and got chased out. After about 10 doors like that, we tried my way. I would place my hand on the door and feel for any aura signatures, old or new. Most of the doors had residents, but eventually we found a door between the portal and Embers place.
Upon entering, we appeared to be in a living room, with 2 doors that led left, right, and straight ahead was a doorway. The door to the right led to a kitchen/dining area, with a fridge, stove, oven, dishwasher, cupboards, pantry, and a table with 8 chairs. The living room had a large couch that was facing a tv set on a giant cupboard thing, with 2 armchairs on either side.
The door on the left led to a laundry room, that had clothes-washer, dryer, and shelves for things. The doorway led to a hall, with 4 doors. The first door on the left was a bathroom, with sink, toilet, shower, and a medicine cabinet.
The second door on the left was a bedroom, with a king sized bed, dresser, closet, and bookshelves. The first door on the right was similar, but instead of a king size bed, thier were two normal beds, with 2 dressers and closets.
The 2nd door on the right had a bunkbed, with the dresser, closet, etc. It was brilliant. I would need to stockpile this place with food, and extra blankets(all the beds were made) but this place was looking very promising.
"Thanks for helpin' me find this place, Ember. I owe you one." I exclaimed, slouching onto an armchair. Ember sat on the other one, fiddling with her guitar.
"No problem, baby-pop. Just come by my place tomorrow or something, and we'll play something. Then I'll call it even." she answered.
"Why are you being so nice to me?" I asked. Ember just shrugged.
"You seem like an okay kid. Why did you even come into my pad?"
"I was captured by Skulker with a friend of mine. He wanted me to hand over something, and when I refused, we started fighting. Danny Phantom showed up, and he attacked me. I ran, well, flew, deeper into the Ghost Zone. I tried to back-track after awhile, then another ghost started chasing me. I went into the next door I came to, and it was yours." I answered.
"Hang on, you fought Skulker? Who won?" asked Ember, looking over my suit intently.
"I did. I blew his suit to smithereens." I answered. Ember just stared at me, disbelief written all over he face.
"How...how did you..?" she stuttered. I shrug.
"I have magic. Had it as a human, and as a ghost too, apparently. I just said the word for destroy, and blew up his suit." I answer.
"But how did you know that he wasn't the suit?" Ember insisted.
"I could sense it. I could feel his energy, and it was mostly where the head of the suit was. So I aimed for the chest." I explained. She thought about this for a moment, then grinned.
"I can't beleive it! I finally get to meet one of his escaped targets! This is too good!" Ember proceeded to laugh her head off. I put on my 'not amused' face, waiting for her to stop.
"Let me guess, your gonna turn me in now, huh." I huff, glaring at the ground.
"No, I'm not gonna turn you in. Now Phantom, if he were here, I'd be tempted to tie him up and drag him off Skulker myself. After beating him to a pulp first." she snarled out. I huff, not impressed. Danny's to powerful for one ghost to take down.
"But?" I prod. She gives me a look.
"What? You said Phantom attacked you, so you must be in the 'Ghost's who hate Danny Phantom' club."
"There's an actual club?" I reply.
