Soon it was time for Eddie to go back to the doctor She was officially twelve weeks along and they had rescheduled her ten-week appointment because they were unable to make it due to work and being unable to take off. She was showing now. Very slightly, so only she and Jamie knew. She wasn't worried about Kara and Olivia anymore. John had been sentenced to life with no chance of parole. As they walked into the doctor's office Jamie signed her in and they sat down.

"I can't wait to see how big peanut has gotten since last time." He smiled.

"Me either. I'm almost out of the first trimester. Only one more week." She said excitedly. He smiled.

"I can't wait to find out what we're having." She nodded.

"I think it's a boy but every once in a while, a thought pops into my head about it being a girl." She replied and nodded.

"I don't care as long as we have a healthy baby." He replied matter-of-factly.

"Edit Janko." The nurse called, and they stood and followed her back to the exam room.

"How are we feeling today?" The nurse asked as Eddie climbed onto the table and Jamie sat in the chair next to her.

"Great. Every couple of mornings or so I still get sick with morning sickness but it's not terrible. I've started having cravings, I want spicy food. Constantly. Normally I hate it but now it's all I want." She replied and gave the nurse her arm for her to check her blood pressure. The nurse then recorded her response and her vitals and assured them that Dr. Reeves would be in momentarily. They smiled and thanked her.

"It feels so weird being here, with you. But I wouldn't change it for the world." Jamie smiled and took her hand.

"I feel the same way. It's so different, but in a good way." She replied, and Dr. Reeves knocked on the door before coming in.

"Eddie, Jamie, how are you guys?" She asked politely. She moved the equipment where she wanted it and sat on her stool.

"We're great. Can't wait to see peanut." Eddie replied and laid back pulling her shirt up out of the way.

"Well then, let's see him or her." She said as she placed the gel on her stomach and moved the wand around. The room was soon echoing with the sound of a strong, healthy heartbeat. Something that made both proud parents very happy to hear.

"Wow, six weeks and peanut's so much bigger." Eddie gushed and stared at the screen. Dr. Reeves took note of the baby's measurements.

"It's amazing, right?" Jamie replied. Eddie nodded.

"Yeah, did you ever go with Linda or Erin?" She asked, and he nodded.

"Yeah, pretty often. Danny and Jack were often too busy to go." He replied as they continued to be infatuated with the image on the screen. Their baby. They did that. They couldn't believe it. Dr. Reeves finished her check-up. She printed out pictures and sent them on their way into a late shift at work. They were so excited and couldn't wait for the arrival of the newest Reagan next summer.

"You wanna show Sarge peanut's newest picture?" Eddie asked excitedly as they walked out of the locker rooms now in uniform, with plenty of time before roll call.

"Let's go Tinkerbell." He grinned and pulled out one of the pictures. They quickly knocked on his door and walked in.

"Wanna see peanut?" Eddie asked taking the picture from Jamie.

"Of course." Tony replied. They weren't only his subordinates but his friends. They were all close and their successes were also his. He couldn't wait to meet the miniature version of them combined. She gave him the picture and he smiled.

"You two did something great. I remember seeing these when Marie was pregnant with our kids and I loved how much they could change over just a few weeks between ultrasounds." He beamed and returned the picture to Eddie who gave it back to Jamie.

"Thanks, Sarge. We're going to head over roll call." Jamie replied, and they walked to the roll call room and stood at ease in their positions in the formation.

"Damn, you two are awfully early." Kara said as she walked in and took her place next to Eddie.

"We're just as shocked as you Walsh, trust me." Eddie laughed.

"You're what three months now?" She asked, and Eddie smiled.

"Only one more week until I'm in the second trimester." Kara nodded.

"Livvy is so excited to be a big cousin. She can't wait." They smiled.

"She's gonna be the best big cousin. I can't wait to watch them grow up together." Jamie replied.

"Aw. Look uncle Jamie is ready to be a daddy." Eddie teased.

"Damn right." He said and kissed her softly before Renzulli walked up to the podium and called them to formation. They turned their attention to him.

"Reagan, Janko don't let me catch that happening on the street." He smiled.

"Yes Sarge." They replied, grinning. They were dismissed and made their way to the car and got in before speaking.

"How did he see us? He literally walked in after we pulled back." Eddie replied, chuckling.

"I have no idea." Jamie replied driving off to their patrol sector.

"Jay, I need food. Can we get a breakfast sandwich from the bodega around the corner?" She whined.

"Of course. I'll be right back, you stay with the car." She smiled and nodded. He went to get them each a breakfast sandwich and came back quickly.

"Thanks partner." She replied taking the sandwich from him.

"No problem." He smiled and opened his own sandwich. They ate quickly and in silence, in case they got a call. Just after they finished eating, they got one.

"12-David we have a domestic disturbance. 1202 Proctor Avenue. Two blocks away. Two injured, female civilian and we have reports of an officer down. We have no update on conditions. Paramedics are en route."

"12-David show us responding." Jamie called into his radio before speeding off to the scene.

"Here we go. Let's do this."

"Let's do this." They rush in guns drawn. They see an unconscious officer. They check his pulse. He's gone.

"12-David to central we have a confirmed officer down, he's gone. Civilian looks to be unconscious." Jamie called as Eddie checked her pulse.

"Central, she's gone too."

"Be safe." They nodded to each other.

"NYPD! Show yourself. We will shoot!" Eddie yells. Instead of seeing a face, they see a gun. Before they have time to react Jamie gets hit. Eddie shoots directly at the other gun. She knocked it out of the shooter's hand. He pulled out a weapon that was unidentifiable. Eddie shot again and immobilized him. She cuffed him and kept an eye on him as she called it in.

"12-David to central, officer down. Reagan's hit. I see blood, not much but it's there. Suspect is also hit." Eddie called out and the paramedics rush in. They split up and tend to both parties injured. Renzulli is next to arrive on scene.

"Janko ride with him. Get checked out for shock and make sure they check the baby." She nodded and climbed into the ambulance with Jamie and the medics shut the doors and drove off. Eddie called Frank.

"Frank, it's Eddie. Jamie was hit. I don't know how bad. He's bleeding but it's controlled we're on the way to First Presbyterian. He's not conscious though." She said skipping to the point.

"Okay, we'll meet you there." He replied.

"There was another officer, first on scene. He didn't make it." She added, and he sighed.

"Okay, I got it. We'll all see you in a minute. Hang in there. Get checked out." She agreed and hung up.
