Meet and Greet
Despite the fact that it was her day off in the week, Erza had a moderately busy day planned for herself. Being a second year student meant she had more influence in the university, and she hoped to set a good example to the other students.
So naturally, she was up jogging laps around the university grounds by 7am. It was a little later than her usual start to the week (her clubs all started at 5am), but she allowed herself the luxury.
By the time she finished her tenth lap of the entire campus; from the front gates to the furthest sports field, it'd just gone 8:30am and she could make her way back to the dorm to wash up. She watched as students filtered past here and there, heading to early morning classes. A few upper-classmen greeted her politely, and several first-year boys ogled her openly. They had yet to hear about her, apparently.
"Don't be late for your classes now," she chided, then glared at them. "Or I shall have to find a way to reprimand you for your tardiness."
The boys' jaws snapped shut quickly and they soon rushed off.
Smirking her amusement, she quickly continued on her way, reaching her dorm in no time and rushing excitedly to her room to shower. The hot water soothed her stretched muscles, and she felt refreshed instantly. Once she dried off and dressed in slightly frillier undergarments than she usually does, she went to her wardrobe to pick clothing to wear.
Eventually, she decided on a simple blue dress that fit like a loose tank top until the waist, where the seam pinched before flowing more loosely to the bottom, meeting a trim of fine black lace. She braided a few pinches of hair on either side of her head and tied the ends on either side with a hair band at the back of her head. She applied light make-up, a spray of her favourite perfume, and strapped her feet into black heeled sandals. She collected her essentials and handbag and locked her door on the way out.
.
.
"Jellal!"
The dark-blue-haired man in question turned to face Erza as she strode towards him. At a little after 10 in the morning, the fountain the two were meeting at was wonderfully secluded, being set a little away from town and a good few minutes walk from the University. Thankfully Erza was skilled at walking in any type of shoes.
"Erza, you look great." With a relaxed smile, he grabbed her hand, kissed it, then pulled her in for a hug that made the redhead's heart skip a beat. She hugged back briefly and pulled back to smile at him in return.
"How's your summer been Jellal? It's been a while since I've last seen you." She didn't mean to add the sad note to her statement, but it was a subject she wanted to bring up.
"It's been busy," the blunette admitted, starting to walk. Erza followed along suit. "But I can't say it was all bad; Mystogan came to visit."
"I thought he was away travelling?"
"He came by for three days. Two nights. Pretty sure he only came to check in on Grandma Porly and Wendy."
"She's in my dormitory, by the way." Erza smiled fondly. "She's a bright girl."
"That's my cousin for you. I swear Mystogan prefers her over me..." with a overly dramatic sigh, Jellal pulled ahead to open the door of a cafe for her and gracefully gestures for her to go inside. A polite nod later, and the pair are seated not quite at the front windows, but at the side in a secluded booth.
They both order their favourite brunch; Erza a slice of strawberry shortcake and a strawberry lemonade, and Jellal a cream soda and slice of carrot cake. They chat happily; catching up on the past 2 months that were spent away from each other. From the passer's by they looked like a happy, intimate couple that had been together for a long time, and in some ways, that was true. Erza knew that they had mutual feelings for each other. The only problem was the fact they didn't have much time for each other outside of their education. Makarov had blessed Jellal with his course that he'd given him, and Jellal was leaping at the chance to have a degree. They had a lot to work on.
They walked up to the University together, since Jellal's first class of the day started at noon. It was a small risk they took to do this, since Erza was a well-known and respected honour student, and Jellal was a less-liked student, more in-the-shadows in comparison.
They part ways as they walk through the main building, Jellal taking the path around the library to the garage, and Erza taking the path to the dormitories. She was greeted by MiraJane upon entering the dorm, the blonde huffing and tapping her toes.
"I've been waiting!"
"I know." Smirking, Erza strided past the glaring woman to walk upstairs to her room to change.
.
.
Now wearing capri jeans, a black racer-back shirt and black flip flops, Erza yawned from her slumped position at the dining table as she watched the white-blonde across from her babble on about different events the Master asked them to organise. It wasn't that Erza was slacking off, honest. MiraJane just liked to talk and talk and-
"Erza, have you been listening at all, or is your head up in the clouds again?"
"I was, but you were starting to bore me." Erza admitted. "We've already decided this semester's fund raiser event, and the theme for the Halloween Party AND the Winter Party. What else is there to do?"
"Those parties are campus parties," Mira frowned. "We're in charge of the themes for Fairy Tale too, you know."
"It should be as simple as the campus parties," Erza rolled her eyes. "We can even recycle the props and decorations. The Halloween party on campus can be on the Tuesday before Halloween because that's the only night the Master can bring the bouncers from Fairy Tale up to the campus without altering their schedules. The props can all be taken down to the club by Friday to set up for that evening and Saturday's Halloween events."
"Should it be a two-day event though?" Mira pressed, looking anxious. "I mean, there's no way we can make both nights exciting if its the same thing. Should there be a competition? Best Dressed?"
Erza thought about it; she did have a point. If there were different events on both nights, people would want to go to both nights rather than just the one.
"How about: 'most realistically gorey costume' for the Friday event, and 'most unique costume' for the Saturday?"
MiraJane squealed excitedly. "Yes! I knew you were useful sometimes!"
"Watch it."
"Anyway," Mira ignored her, scribbling hurriedly onto the sheet on the table in front of her. "Halloween, November's fundraiser, Christmas, all sorted! New Year's is a free schedule with no set plans like Master wished, though he did want us to look into hiring someone to set off fireworks. But he can do that himself." Collecting the papers together, MiraJane casually smacked the papers in Erza's face as she stood from her seat.
"Do you want to make dinner with me?" Mira asked suddenly. Grabbing the papers and removing them from her face, Erza frowned.
"Don't you have Modelling soon? You should diet."
"It's at 5, and you're one to talk, Miss Strawberry Shortcake."
"It's already 4:30pm, if you haven't noticed, wouldn't want you to bloat."
The two girls glared at each other, silently waiting for the other to make a move.
"Hmmhmmhm! ..Lonely girl it looks like you are out of luck, tell me how it feels to watch your friends give up, I was on your side- Oh, uh, hey." Levy stammered in shock, eyes widening as she realised she wasn't walking into an empty dorm.
The two older students glanced from each other to the blunette, then back at each other, and silently agreed to stop arguing.
"Hey Levy, we were just about to go." MiraJane greeted the petite girl. "I'm helping out in the Modelling class in a bit and Erza's going to deliver some papers to Master Makarov, so you can carry on with your singing in peace." Smiling happily, Mira started to hum herself as she collected her bag and left.
"Oh, so you're going too?" Levy watched as Erza tidied the papers in her hand and get up from the table.
"Yes. MiraJane and I were sorting out events the Master asked us to do and now that we're done I can go deliver them."
"Well," Levy shuffled awkwardly. "There's a bunch of my friends from high school and here hanging out later, kind of like a big, get-to-know-each-other thing, it's at 8 o'clock in the Common Room."
"I'll see if I can make it," Erza smiled politely before leaving the dormitory as well.
.
.
Levy was glad for the fact that she had an earlier finish to the day than Lucy and the others, since she had a fair amount of studying to do. That and she still had to make some food for herself and maybe put away another box of clothes. She still had three of them.
She worked her way through her Italian notes first, since she'd already read the book that was given as homework for Literacy Studies. At her desk, she'd created a filing system for each of her language subjects and had two notebooks for each language as a 'neat' copy for grammar and vocabulary respectively. Once she'd finished rewriting her notes up in neat, she moved on to the Russian notes.
By the time she'd finished, it was nearly 6pm and she was starving, so she filed everything away and went downstairs. She wasn't too bad at cooking; she could boil rice and veggies and and make gravy, so together she had a nice big plate of veggie rice with gravy.
Okay, so she wasn't that imaginative with cooking.
At the very least, it's all healthy food, Levy told herself, shovelling another mouthful in as she flicked through images on Instagram.
She put the song on from earlier, Tonight Alive's Lonely Girl, as she washed all the dishes at the sink. To be fair, the girls mostly cleaned up after themselves, but there were a couple cups and plates from this morning that Wendy and Lucy must've forgotten to rinse properly, so Levy washed them again.
She went upstairs again after that, finally unpacking another box of clothes and putting away some knick knacks she'd brought with her. She got a text from Lucy at a little after 8 to hurry up and meet with them, so she grabbed her keys and her beanie - she'd taken it off to tie her hair up while studying - and rushed off to meet them.
The only thing she wasn't expecting was to run into Gajeel and Juvia on the way.
"Levy! You're late!" Lucy called as the three of them entered the Common Room together.
"Sorry, someone left dishes to wash," she teased playfully as the blonde huffed embarrassedly.
"Nastu will be late," Gray announced as he made his way over from the vending machines. He passed Erza a Strawberry milk carton as he moved past her to sit down. "He says his class doesn't finish until 8:30pm."
"Why are you buying Erza milk?" Levy questioned.
"I bumped into her earlier and made her spill her drink." Gray explained. Levy felt Juvia relax slightly next to her. Was she tense before?
"Anyway, you guys should all sit together on the couch next to me," Lucy grinned slyly. "I've gotta save the space next to me for Natsu, and Gray and Erza are on the armchairs so.."
"Sure," Levy replied with a fake smile aimed at her friend. Juvia decided to sit at the end closest to Lucy, and Levy sat next to her, with Gajeel on her other side.
"Erza, I'm guessing you met Gray already," Levy fiddled with her beanie a little. "But these guys are Juvia and Gajeel, I have classes with Juvia and Lucy has classes with Gajeel."
"Yes, I recognise them from Swimming Club," Erza nodded politely to them.
"So!" Lucy sighed loudly, slapping her hands on her knees to make some noise. "I figure since we don't all know a lot about each other, we should play some fun games."
"Like what, Bunnygirl?" Gajeel spoke up for the first time, resting his chin on his fist from his slightly slumped position by the armrest.
"I was thinking for a starter game we can play Two Lies, One Truth," Lucy grinned.
Levy shuddered. Things were probably gonna get weird.
Yoooo It's been a while! There was gonna be a little more to this chapter but I was struggling to finish it in my time limit so this is what you're gonna get! Erza's POV of Thursday and the start of some fun and games from Levy's POV.
A lot's happened since I last updated this story, so here's a knockdown:
-broke up with my college boyfriend right before my birthday (I kinda knew it was gonna happen.. we both weren't happy)
-birthday (my last year as a teen D: )
-finished college with overall Merit! (Scoring goes Fail/Pass/Merit/Distinction, Distinction is best)
-Moved from Worcestershire to Cornwall (where I lived previously for 3 years)
-Was introduced to my current boyfriend
-Having a surprising social life with old and new friends
Now I'm off on a mini holiday with said boyfriend for his birthday so I thought I should plough on through this chapter I started a couple weeks ago and finish it before I go. Enjoy! Love me!
