Thanks for reading my story. It's a little different for me since I'm retelling the episodes from one persons' point of view.

This story is being told from Booth's point of view.

I don't own Bones.

Ooooooooooooooooooooo

You know, I know Bones has dated a lot of guys; but, really, I met one of her former friends today and all I can say is, her choice in men just amazes me. Her former friend, Michael Stires was at the Lab when I showed up with our latest case.

A fridge was found in an illegal dump in a ravine. I decided to take the fridge over to the Jeffersonian and give it to Bones. I knew if I opened it without her present, there would be hell to pay and I would pay it. She really hates it when people compromise her crime scenes. I've seen her go off on agents that have screwed up her crime scenes and I can tell you it isn't a pretty picture. I'm about the only FBI agent that will work with her. Most of the agents just don't have the patience they need to work with geniuses.

When I opened the fridge, Bones could tell me right away that the victim was a woman in her early 20's. Well Michael Stires said she was in her late teens or early 20's. Bones didn't contradict him so I knew he must have gotten that one right.

Bones told Zach to clean the bones and then she made arrangements for Stires to pick her up at 7:30, that night. They were going to go out and eat together. After seeing that body, I don't know how anyone could be interested in food; but, that stuff really doesn't bother Bones that much. She can look at dead bodies all day and she's fine. I wish I could do that. If I want to lose weight, all I have to do is remember some body I've seen and that takes care of my appetite.

Hodgins says that Michael Stires is an old teacher of hers. He didn't look old to me. He looked like a smug bastard used to getting his way.

Bones matched up the dental records of the victim with Maggie Schilling. Maggie went missing eleven months ago. Her parents were contacted by Maggie's kidnapper and the parents were told that they needed to pay a million dollars to get Maggie back. Negotiations were started; but, then they just stopped. The FBI agents involved in the case figured that Maggie was murdered by her kidnapper. I guess they were right.

Bones and I went out to the Schilling house to talk to Maggie's parents. They told us about Maggie's drug problems. Her parents talked about having nannies for Maggie and how they may not have been there for her like they should have been. They had a heavy load on their shoulders. I felt sorry for them. I don't want to even think about how I would take it if something happened to Parker.

Her parents confirmed that Maggie used alcohol, ecstasy and pot. I asked them if she used hydromorphine; but, they weren't really sure. Bones said that stuff was in Maggie's body when she died. It's a powerfull pain killer. Her parents said it didn't sound familiar to them. They confirmed that Maggie had a thyroid condition.

Bones wanted some pictures of Maggie dancing and swimming. Her parents found some and gave them to Bones. I'm not sure why she needed the pictures; but, I learned weeks ago not to ask why when she wants things like that. I just try to go with the flow.

We checked with Maggie's endocrinologist and found out that Maggie was not using hydromorphine. Her doctor said that there isn't any pain associated with the thyroid condition she had. We wanted to make sure that she didn't have a prescription for that stuff.

Her doctor told us that Maggie did try to bribe his office manager for some opiates. The doctor gave us the address of his ex-office manager. Yeah, he fired her. I would have too.

Bones and I went out to Mary Costello's house to talk to her. She told us that she didn't give Maggie any drugs. She said Maggie stole them. Mary also said that her boss fired her because she refused his sexual advances. She admitted to having Maggie over to her house and going clubbing with her. She said she took Maggie in because Maggie's parents weren't there for her. What a load of crap. I can always tell when people are lying to me. Mary was a bullshit artist. That was a fact. Her husband was one too.

I decided that Mary and her husband, Scott, were handing us a load of bull; so, I walked into her kitchen and looked at Mary's fridge. It was new. I moved the new one and saw the marks on the floor for the old one. That was all I needed.

I got a warrant to search Mary and Scott's house. Man they are twisted. My guys found a bunch of sadomasochistic stuff in their basement.

I told Bones that you don't need this kind of stuff if the sex is good. She agreed with me. She never agrees with me about sex stuff so it kind of freaked me out a little. She told me that she doesn't want to feel pain or domination when it comes to sex. I agree with her about that one, one hundred percent.

We were kidding around and she hit me with a whip on my arm. It was actually pretty funny. Bones can be pretty funny sometimes. Other agents tell me that she doesn't have a sense of humor; but, they don't know what they're talking about.

We found some handcuffs in the stuff the Costello's had in their sick fun room in the basement. Bones thinks that is what caused the stress fractures on Maggie's wrists.

Mary admitted that Maggie was in her house and she used the cuffs; but, she said it was consensual. I was afraid that if the squints didn't find anything else then Mary and her husband were going to get away with murder.

Bones had some kind of competition with Michael Stires. He questioned her results and the process she used to confirm her results. Bones did everything in her power to prove she was right. It didn't sound very friendly to me.

She invited Stires over to the Lab to look over her findings about Maggie. Stires had questioned the fact that Bones could prove that Maggie was restrained involuntarily. Bones was determined to prove it to him. It was like watching a boxing match. He jabbed and she jabbed. They both took hits and then they both brushed them off. If that's how squint lovers behave then I'm glad I'm not a squint.

Bones and Angela used the Angelator to show how Maggie was probably restrained for at least three weeks. The poor girl was in agony at the end. The Costellos drugged her to keep her quiet and eventually overdosed her and killed Maggie. Stires conceded that Bones might be right.

I found out that the Costellos had hired Stires to be their expert witness when they went to trial for the murder of Maggie. Bones had shown her evidence against the Costellos to Stires and he just took it all in. Bones was shocked; but, I wasn't. I knew there was something wrong with that guy. Stires used Bones. Some friend.

Stires looked over Maggie's remains. We had to let him. He contested Bones' findings and that upset her. It didn't do me any good either.

We met the U.S. Attorney prosecuting the case and a jury consultant he had hired for the trial of the Costellos. Joy Deavor, the consultant, was a real bitch. She told Bones that she's cold and aloof. She called Bones arrogant too. She actually told Bones that juries don't like her. I tried to get Bones to over look that woman's insults and use the advice that she gave. It sounded right to me. The advice not the insults.

The trial was a trial for Bones as well as the Costellos. Bones tried to be professional in her testimony; but, she was up against Stires who is charming. Juries like charming. I know, I use it myself. Bones isn't charming and she wasn't getting through to the jury. I tried to tell Bones that she needed to lighten up; but, it just irritated her.

When it came time to testify, Michael Stires made a huge mistake. He attacked Bones. He got the jury to laugh at Bones. That hurt her and it made her angry. It just pissed me off. He had no right doing that to Bones. I wanted to beat the shit out of him; but, I managed to control my temper.

I talked to the prosecuting attorney about putting Bones back on the stand. Levitt agreed to do it. When she started to testify the second time, Levitt asked her some personal questions about why she became an anthropologist. He talked about the loss of her parents. Bones got it. She talked about the human side of her job. She told the story of the torture of Maggie in a way that won the sympathy of the jurors and made them understand that Maggie was murdered and that the facts couldn't be downplayed. Stires testimony looked foolish after that.

Bones was very angry with me. She knew where Levitt had got his info on her parents. I know she felt like I had used her; but, I was trying to help her. I really was. She needed to beat Stires and I helped her. I didn't really do anything wrong. Not really. It was my case too and I didn't want those bastards to get away with it. Maggie needed justice and I needed Bones to help me.

I apologized to Bones anyways. She accepted it after awhile. We're good to go. We're partners. She knows that. She knows I would never do anything to hurt her.

Oh yeah, the good thing that came out of this is that Stires is out of Bones' life. Bones isn't willing to forgive him. Too bad for him.

Oooooooooooooooooo

I really disliked Michael Stires.
