So, I know what anyone might be thinking. Well this only took forever. I know I'm sorry! Thank you to anyone who has stayed loyal and continuing to read!
"Faster?"
Stiles spun around in the seat to look behind us. I turned around and looked also as Kate Argent trailed us. "Much faster!"
Stiles eyes met mine as Scott shifted gears and stepped on the gas. I clutched my hands in my lap as we took the sharp turns. As the headlights came through the window I turned around, "she's getting closer!"
My voice of alarm caused Stiles to turn around again, "Okay, Scott. I don't think you're grasping the concept of the car chase here."
"If I go faster I'll kill us!"
"Well if you don't go faster they're going to kill us!"
I leaned forward and Stiles turned his face so I could feel his breath on my cheek. "How about we go for a plan where nothing kills us?"
Scott swerved off and suddenly the headlights were gone, "They're gone."
Stiles turned on the police radio that he had jacked from his Dad and we heard Sheriff's voice, "all units the suspect is on foot headed into the iron works."
In a matter of minutes we were at the iron works and Scott was slamming on the breaks. "Get in!" Stiles yelled as he climbed into the back with me. I watched as Derek ran for the car as Chris Argent shot at him. Stiles grabbed me and covered my body with his own.
After we had escaped the gun fire Stiles sat back up and I looked at him, "what part of laying low don't you understand?!"
"Dammit! I had him!" Derek yelled.
Abandoning me Stiles leaned up with the other two, "who the alpha?"
"Yes! He was right in front of me and the freakin' police showed up!"
"Well, hey they're just doing their jobs." Derek shot him a look that I had never seen on another person's face. I reached for his coat and tried to pull him back.
"Yeah thanks to someone who decided to make me the most wanted fugitive in the entire state!" He snapped at Scott.
"Can we seriously get past that? I made a dumbass mistake. I get it!"
"Alright!" Stiles said throwing his arms around. "How did you find him?"
Derek gave Stiles another look before just shaking his head, "can you just try and trust us for half a second."
"Yeah, all of us." Stiles added. Derek shifted in his seat, "or just him. I'll be back here." Stiles sat back and I grabbed his arm. He rubbed my leg, but I didn't feel any better. The fact that another one of our date nights had turned into a werewolf adventure didn't make me the most happy.
"Look the last time I talked to my sister she was close to figuring something out. Two things, first was a guy named Harris."
Stiles shot forward, "our chemistry teacher?"
"Why him?" Scott asked.
"I don't know yet."
"What was the second?"
Derek dug into his pocket and pulled out a sheet of paper, "some kind of symbol." I looked at Scott as he began to close his eyes and breath deep, "what? Do you know what it is?"
"I've seen it on a necklace." Scott shifted and we shot forward, "Alison's necklace."
Sitting on windowsill I read the assigned chapter for English class. Suddenly I felt someone in front of me. Looking up from my book I saw a pair of hazel eyes staring at me. He held onto one strap of his backpack and he looked so adorable in his blue plaid shirt. "I'm sorry about last night."
"Which part?"
He knitted his eyebrows together, "all of it?"
I set my book into my bag, "Stiles. It was the third date we had and the third time Scott needed your help during it." I jumped down, "I really like you, but if things are too hectic-"
"Jackson knows," Scott said running up to us.
"What?"
"Jackson knows that I'm a werewolf."
The two boys suddenly took off and I grabbed my bag to follow after them, "how the hell did he find out?"
"I have no idea."
"Did he say it out loud?" I rolled my eyes as I followed after the two boys catching up to be on Stiles' other side. "The word."
"What word?"
"Werewolf. Did he say, I know you're a werewolf."
"No, but he implied it pretty freakin' clearly."
"Okay maybe it isn't as bad as it seems. I mean he doesn't have any proof, right? And if he wanted to tell someone who would believe him anyways."
"How about Alison's father?"
"Okay it is bad," Stiles said rubbing his head.
"I need a cure." Scott hit Stiles on the back, "right now."
Drifting off I waited until the two boys stopped walking to stand next to Stiles. I was trying to be understanding, but it was so difficult. My hand was suddenly in Stiles' and we were going down the hallway. "What is going on?"
"Scott is going to steal Alison's necklace and we are going to go to my house after school."
"For?" I asked.
"I have a plan." He continued to lead me down the hallway and I stopped pulling my hand from his grasp. He stopped turning to look at me, "what?"
"I am all for trying to help Scott get this cure or whatever. I just want to know where we stand."
"What do you mean?"
I ran my fingers through my hair, "we were literally in the middle of a conversation and you just dropped it like it was nothing."
"I'm sorry. I really am. There is just a lot going on right now."
"I get that Stiles. I do. Just tell me if you and I on top of everything is too much."
This finally got his attention, "it isn't too much."
"Are you sure?"
He leaned in kissing me, "I'm positive. So, will you come to my house after school?"
I nodded and stood on my toes to kiss him again, "I'll see you later."
Jackson just broke up with me! Where are you! I stared at the words on my screen and couldn't believe what I was seeing. I looked at Stiles as he unlocked the door to his house. Lydia was single. There was nothing standing in the way of Stiles' crush on her.
As soon as the door opened Stiles stood aside to let me in. I walked past him dropping my bag on the ground before grabbing him by the shirt and pulling him to me. Our lips crashed together. And I tightened my grip on his shirt. I pulled away smiling, "what was that for?"
"Well your Dad isn't home right?" He nodded and I slipped my hand in his before leading him up the stairs. I turned around and pulled him to me once more. Tongues battling as we stumbled into his bedroom. I began to push his jacket off as his hands gripped my waist.
"D- Derek," he said.
I pulled away and looked at him confused, "what?"
He pointed and I turned around to see Derek Hale standing in the corner. I took a step back, "if you two hormonal teenagers are finished."
Stiles walked forward and Derek pinned him against the door, "hey if I'm harboring your fugitive ass my house my rules. Derek nodded and back away fixing Stiles' jacket before Stiles did the same. He began to walk back to me and Derek flinched at him and he jerked back, "oh my god."
Dropping into his desk chair Stiles spun around, "Scott didn't get the necklace?"
"No, he's still working on it. But there is something else we can try." Derek gave him a look saying he was all ears, "the night we were trapped at the school Scott sent a text to Alison asking her to meet him there."
"So?"
"So, it wasn't Scott."
"Well can you find out who sent it?"
"No, not me. But I think I know somebody who can."
I looked to Stiles, "who?"
He gazed up at me, "I think you know too."
I shook my head, "no. You are not getting Danny involved."
"We need him."
We stared each other down before I pulled my phone out dialing a number. "Danny can you come pick me up. I'm at Stiles' house." Clicking the end button I said, "he is on his way."
"Yes!"
I leaned down, "I really like you Stiles, but if anything and I mean anything- even one hair is misplaced on my best friend's head. I'm out. Of everything."
His eyes were wide as I stood back up, "got it."
Walking over I sat on the edge of his bed and looked at Derek, "you stink by the way."
"Yeah that kind of happens when you're on the run." I rolled my eyes before laying back.
"You want me to do what?!" Danny asked shocked looking back at me for answers.
"Trace a text," Stiles said again.
"I came here to get Raelyn and go grab something to eat."
"And you will once you trace the text."
Danny looked at me again and I shrugged before looking back to my book, "and what makes you think I know how?"
"I looked up your arrest report- so."
I looked up and Stiles shrugged, "I- I was thirteen and they dropped the charges. Come on Raelyn we're leaving."
Shutting my book I looked to Danny and then to Stiles. I stood up and Danny looked to Derek who was still in the corner, "whose he again?"
"My cousin- Miguel."
"Is that blood on his shirt?"
Stiles turned around to look at Derek, "uh yeah. Well he gets these horrible nosebleeds. Hey Miguel I thought I told you that you could borrow one of my shirts." We all watched as Derek stood up and walked to his dresser. I stood watching as Derek took his shirt off and threw it to the ground, "I mean we all know you have the skills to trace that text. So-"
"Uhm, Stiles." Stiles turned around to look at Derek. "This-" he moved the shirt, "no fit."
I looked at Danny who watched mesmerized, "then try something else on." Stiles looked at me and I nodded my head to my best friend watching. Stiles looked back and forth between the two, "you swing for a different team but you still play ball don't you Danny boy."
"You're a horrible person."
"I know it keeps me awake at night. Anyways about that text."
"Stiles," Derek snapped. "None of these fit!"
"I'll need the ISP, the phone number and the exact time of the text." Stiles lifted his arms in victory as Danny began to work on the computer. I sat back down on the bed and got my book back out.
The information that Danny found led us to Beacon Hills Hospital and Melissa McCall. As Stiles and Derek sat on the phone with Scott I texted Lydia back. "You're not going to make it," Derek said. I looked at the two boys in the front seat.
"I know."
"And you didn't tell him about his Mom either."
"Well not until we find out the truth."
"By the way one more thing."
"Yeah?" Derek reached over and slammed Stiles' head off the steering wheel, "what the hell was that for."
"You know what that was for. Go. Go."
Stiles climbed out of the jeep and headed for the building. "You're kind of an ass you know. He doesn't have to be hiding you."
Derek spun around, "what did you say?"
"Be a little nicer, Derek. You need them and you might not want to admit that to yourself, but I think you know it."
Just then Derek's phone rang, "what? Look ask for Jennifer she's been looking after my uncle- What?!- Stiles get out of there right now." His voice was now urgent, "it's him. He's the alpha!"
Derek hung the phone up and sprinted form the car and I followed, "stay here!"
"No!"
"Yes!" He yelled as he ran in. I waited a few seconds and took off after him.
When I finally caught up I saw Derek thrown against the wall by another man and Stiles' skittering across the floor. "Stiles!" He saw me and we ducked behind the nurses desk. I ran my hands down his hair to his cheeks, "are you okay?!" I flinched as I heard another impact and the fight that was going on the other side of the desk.
"I'm fine."
"Stiles we have to get out of here." He nodded and just then Derek came sailing through the glass.
We watched helplessly as his uncle followed after him. I turned to Stiles, "now." I stood up grabbing his hand and we ran from the hospital. When we reached outside Stiles stopped, "what?"
"We can't just leave him."
"Stiles there are two werewolves in there. What can we do?"
He rubbed his head like he does whenever he is frustrated I have come to notice, "I don't know." The doors to the hospital opened and I knew we had our answer.
