Gundam Wing (my version chapter nine)

*Last time the Gundam pilots were tricked by Oz in an attempt to end the fighting once and for all. But fall victim to their trap and before they could think about what happened and blast from the past comes in to make things worse for them. But thanks to some quick thinking and the fast hacking of a very talented child Heero and the others were able to escape to a safe place. However it would seem that trouble is right on their heels, for it would seem that the remaining members of the Black Window gang are hot on their trail but for now they can breathe a breath of relief. Now on with the story….

High above the skies in one of the biggest cargo planes known to man we find our Gundam friends currently flying to a secret safe house that both Heero and Jade know of. While they are flying, the one question that is going through their heads at the moment would be this; what are they going to do now. Since Oz used them to kill of a bunch of pacifist and Trieze was still alive and kicking along which meant that they were going to have to work twice as hard to fight for the sake of the colonies. While the others were thinking about their next move, Jade along with the other pilots were thinking about what happened just days ago.

"Still can't believe this is happening." Ebony turned to face Jade as she began to voice her concerns.

"What do you mean princess?" Ebony continued to fly the plane since the boys were in the process of putting everything together and keep Toni from being his oh so lovable self.

"What I mean is how did those certified psychopaths who should have been locked up for the rest of their lives; find a way to escape from their prisons. I mean to even attempt to break out of that place is near impossible. You would have to be insane to try and get out of that place. If the guards and guard dogs don't stop you than that supped up security system would fry you before you could take a step out of the building and even if you managed to get past that there was the fence that would either paralyze you or fry with the about enough electricity to fry a whole army. I mean what sick depraved mad man would even think to…" Then like a flash it hit Jade who turned to face her brother who was deep in thought.

"Alright brother of mine what did you do and who did you piss off?" Jade glared daggers at her brother who in return stared at her like she had grown a second head or something after hearing her say that to him. The others were curious as well as to what she was accusing Heero of.

"What are you talking about Jade?" Heero was in no mood to deal with this right now and he was in no mood to deal with his sister and her crazy ways at the moment. Right now all that was on his mind was his failed mission and how Relena was doing.

"Don't play innocent with me, you did something to someone and that person is the one who let those crimes against humanity loose upon the world. And the only thing I can think of that might have triggered this would be that girl that's nuts about you. If I had to take a guess she has many admirers and one of those admirers was a bit on the crazy side. So I'll ask you again Don Juan who the HELL DID YOU PISS OFF!?" Jade was seeing red the longer her brother pretended to deny he knew who was behind the monsters that were probably trying to track them down.

"In truth I think I know who is behind those guys breaking out. But I had hoped that my theory would be wrong and he wouldn't be that foolish or crazy." Heero then turned to look out the window at the passing clouds before he told his sister along with the other pilots his answer.

"The person's name is Claus and you could say that he and I didn't get along while I was here on Earth. As it turns out he's full of himself and believes that nobody can challenge him. Basically he's your typical arrogant school bully. Especially when it came down to getting the girl he wanted. In his mind he ruled the school and no one could touch him. But all that changed when I showed up and put Claus in his place in front the entire fencing class and in front of the girl he was pining for." Heero smirked as he heard his sister growl his way, but before Heero could continue Duo decided to but in.

"Wait you don't mean that girl that followed you to the docks in that blue dress that hugged her in all the right places, do you?" Had Duo thought about what he said he would have stopped himself and wouldn't be facing the end of a gun this very moment.

"I'd watch what you say idiot before you find yourself not being able to say anything at all." Satisfied with the nervous laugh that was coming from Duo, Heero slowly put his gun away before returning to explain himself before Quatre intervened.

"But if what you're saying is true then the one that released those guys is really after you. What about this girl that he's after. Where is she at the moment? What's to say that once he finds you and kills you he won't go after her? With a guy like him running around surely she's hidden somewhere safe." As Quatre voiced his worries it caused Heero to think about Relena's safety as well.

Claus by no means was a guy he wanted Relena to be around. The guy was unstable and ruthless to the core. Besides Relena was his anyway and Heero would be damned so to speak, if any harm were to befall her. For the life of him Heero couldn't understand why he was so protective of her. But then he thought back to what his father had told him years ago about following his heart and letting his emotions guide him. So for now Heero would by his time and hope for the best and that Relena would stay out of harm's way.

"Hey not that this lovely conversation isn't interesting or anything but where are we going exactly? I know you guys want to get as far from the psycho Brady Bunch but where are we heading anyways. We've been flying for about five hours already," Duo who like the others were wondering where they were going. However everyone received their answer from Jade who gave them a reassuring smile to help alleviate their worries.

"Well our family has a house that was left to us many years ago and that's where we're heading. Hardly anyone knows about it and I doubt that those fools will ever think to look for us there."

"Okay but just where is this house that you speak of?" Wu Fei was getting rather ticked off at not getting a straight answer from this woman.

"Well there's a good reason why hardly anyone knows about this place. It's in a city that's known for having one of the biggest parties in the world." Before Jade could finish telling the others where they were going Duo had the brightest smile on his face before jumping up in the air and exclaiming to the others their location.

"WE'RE GOING TO RIO DE JANEIRO?!" Before Duo could confirm his that his theory was right he suddenly felt the pain of someone knocking him in the head.

"Do you have to be so loud or are you just an idiot?" Heero then proceed to return to his seat to return to looking out at the clouds.

"To answer Mr. Maxwell's question yes we're heading to Rio. And before the horde of questions come about this particular location think about it for a moment. South America is known for having problems and it's no secret that there is fighting going on there still. Fighting goes on in and out of the city and no one would think to look for a bunch of Gundam pilots there. It's the perfect place to hide until we get orders to do otherwise. And besides we'll only be there for a few days so don't worry. As long as we don't draw any attention to ourselves we should be fine." Jade then turned back around to continue flying the plane along with Ebony.

Meanwhile back down on the ground we find a rather worried Shin sitting in a lavish and decorated lobby along with Anya awaiting the word to enter and speak with this Trieze person. While Shin was waiting he just couldn't shake the dread in the pit of his stomach of what Claus had done or what he's about to do. Sensing her friends distress Anya put her hand over his and gave it a gently but firm squeeze to bring him some form of peace.

"It will be alright Shin, just try to focus on what's to come of this meeting. Hopefully this Trieze person can shed some light on not just your brother's whereabouts but also give you the answers to your past that no one has been able to confide to you." Anya squeezed his hand tighter as she spoke hoping with all her might that it would ease his frazzled mind some.

"I know, but I can't shake what Clause has done Anya. I feared that one day he would go off the deep end but I had always hoped that it would be when he was in his late nineties eating a bowel of mush but not this. I fear that Claus has finally opened that door to depravity that I thank heaven everyday that I haven't had the pleasure of coming across in my life. But you're right Anya about this meeting with Trieze. Hopefully I finally find the answers that I've been looking for and finally have closure in my life. Good or bad news it's will put me one step closer to finally having peace of mind about my family." Shin then gives Anya a smile before he reached in his pocket to retrieve his mp3 player. Since Trieze was still in a meeting at the moment Shin thought he'd get comfortable and listen to some classical music until it was time for his meeting to start.

Once the headphones were on and the sound of the first track going into the score of his choosing, Shin closed his eyes and let his mind begin to wonder many things. One of those things it wondered to was Claus's action a few days ago. While he assured Anya that he would let it go, part of him couldn't shake this feeling that Claus was going to do something that would end his very being and all those around him. But his thoughts on Claus were slowly withering away as the calm gentle waltz of Russian music took him into a peaceful state of mind. As his mind started to wonder he began to think of old memories; some of which have been locked away for a long time that puzzle him greatly.

*Dream/flashback*

In a vast meadow surrounded by vibrant flowers of every shape and color there are two young boys running with nets trying to capture the many butterflies that roam the skies and having the time of their lives. Laughter and joy can be heard along with the faint sound of someone calling them to come home. Shin turned along with the other boy whose face he couldn't see clearly to what he believed to be a woman from a small house. As both boys ran closer the image began to fade until all that was left was a bright white light.

*End of Dream/flashback*

Shin awoke with a start at the strange dream that still haunted him. Ever since he was a child that dream has plagued his mind and for the life of him he couldn't find a solution as to what it means. Was that a long forgotten memory or just a pleasant dream of what he would have had if that accident never happened? Regardless it plagued him worse than the flu but he could do nothing to remedy it. With a frustrated groan Shin rubbed his temples in hopes to relieve him of the tension that seemed to torture his brain at the moment.

As Shin began to wonder more about his life and current events we find our tired pilots mere minutes from landing in beautiful Rio. Which was a good thing too considering that Toni was close to being thrown off the plane and Duo was mere seconds away from getting shot in the head thanks to Heero. Needless to say that everyone was grateful that they were about to land and soon. Being stuck on a plane with Duo and Toni was enough to drive anyone crazy. Heero was just happy that soon he could walk around and clear his head. It would seem that something is bothering our self proclaimed 'perfect soldier' and for the length of the trip Heero has spent thinking and contemplating on his next move. This at the moment consisted mostly of trying to find a valid and justified explanation to Relena about his actions in the past few days. He still promised to tell her the truth about himself and he was a man of his word. The problem Heero was having right now was trying to find a way to tell her the truth without revealing too much information about his missions. Heero knew that he had to tell Relena about his sister since those two met so briefly and explain a few things to Relena about his sister. But the one thing he was hoping that she wouldn't ask him about when he saw her next were about the people that were still trying to kill him and his sister. Those demons he hoped to vanquish before this God forsaken war was over and done with. But with the way things were going now it seemed like this war was going to last forever.

As Heero began to ponder his situation with Relena, Ester decided to strike up some conversation with her agitated brother before Ray decided to find out if a person could live without the use of their tongue. And seeing that Ray was eyeing Toni as the perfect 'lab rat' Ester's timing couldn't be better.

"Say Raymond, can I talk to you for a few minutes before we land?" Raymond turned his head to his sister wondering what could be on her mind. After what happened on their last mission, Ray noticed how silent and withdrawn his sister had become. It was like her mind was full of questions that she couldn't answer let alone anyone else. Of course Ray was wondering when his sister would ask him about anything after that failed mission anyway. He knew his sister well and figured she needed someone to confide in. Quatre was wonderful but he had his own problems to worry about at the moment.

"Sure what's on your mind anyway Ester? Since the start of this flight you've been quiet as a church mouse. What's bugging you anyway sis?" Ray heard his sister sigh before turning in her chair to face him while the other pilots talked amongst themselves.

"Well I know this might sound crazy but for some odd reason I got this weird feeling that there were an extra pair of eyes on that battle field with us. I know it's crazy but I could have sworn that as we were taking off my Gundam picked up some sort of movement about a few feet below us," Ester saw her brother ponder what she just told him and knew his sister was right. He too felt that there was someone else there watching them on the battle field but didn't want to freak out the others. With those psychos still on the loose, Ray didn't wish to startle everyone with this discovery. He also didn't want to frighten his sister with his theory. With Ester being his twin sister they shared a special connection that allowed both to know when the other is either in trouble or distressed. And right now Raymond didn't wish for his sister to detect anything amiss with him at the moment. Not until he's had a chance to talk to either Quatre or Heero about this.

About twenty minutes later the group of Gundam pilots land safely in the biggest party city of the world, Rio de Janeiro. But while our wary warriors were hoping to relax and clear their frazzled thoughts about their last mission, neither in the party were aware of the danger that awaited them within the grasp of the city itself.
