On the first day of the weekend, I was woken up very early by Batman announcing over the loudspeakers to get dressed and come to the debriefing room. I grumbled to myself and groggily dressed in my superheroine uniform, pulling my unruly bedhead into a high ponytail. I quickly did my morning routine as Kitty forced herself to get dressed into just a plain black dress with baby pink trim. She gripped my hand yawning as we walked to the debriefing room together.

When we got there, the entire team had beaten us, even the ones who didn't live at the cave full time. They turned to face us as Batman looked up at my sister and me.

"Glad you could join us, Feral." Bats grumbled. He obviously wasn't a morning person either.

"It's six in the freaking morning, Bats. I've barely gotten four hours of sleep. You're lucky I'm out of bed at this time." I snapped at him as Kaldur walked over and planted a gentle kiss on my forehead.

"Good morning, my little tiger shark." He whispered in my ear softly, smiling. It was only loud enough for me to hear, and I smiled back at him.

"Who are you?" A laid-back voice asked. The team parted to reveal a tall boy with a happy-go-lucky, curious grin on his face. His sandy blonde hair was long enough to look unkempt but didn't look in need of a cut. His bright green eyes sparkled with mischief that may happen. He was built like Kaldur with muscles that weren't bulked up like Conner but still weren't as lean as Wally or Robin.

My eyes narrowed. "I am known as Feral. Who are you?"

The boy, probably no more than 17, answered grinning, "My name Elias, but you can call me Eli or Hexwolf, which is my hero name."

Kitty stared at him and stalked up to him. Eli looked at her and leaned down, smiling sweetly. "And who are you, sweetie?"

She growled so only those close enough or with super-hearing could hear, doing the I'm-watching-you motion, "You're on my list with Kaldur."

"Kitty!" I scolded, picking her up. "We do not greet people that way, and we do not make kill lists."

Batman cleared his throat. We all turned our attention back to him. He began, "Eli is going to be a new member to your team. His powers are transformation, similar to Feral's."

"Oh? He doesn't look like a Felinian I've met. Or smell like one, in fact." I stated, wrinkling my nose at the sour smell he couldn't cover up with his cologne.

"What's a Felinian?" Eli asked, obviously confused.

I sighed internally. 'He must not be a Felinian if he doesn't even know what we are.'

Kitty glared at him and then shifted into her half-panther form. "We are Felinians, mutt-face."

"Feral, if she's your sister, why is she so mean and not nice like you?" Eli asked, seeming partly oblivious to the fact that I held a snarling hostile half-panther child in my arms.

"Why don't you show us what you can do, Eli?" Kaldur stepped in to save the day.

"Hey, KF! Who do you'd think win in a fight, Kitty or new boy?" Robin whispered, leaning over to the speedster next to him.

"Definitely Kitty. I've made her mad before, and let's just say it wasn't pretty." KF whispered back.

"New boy's going to get his butt handed to him on a silver platter." Rob decided as he and KF bumped fists.

Artemis smacked the back of their heads. "Oh, grow up!"

Eli scratched the back of his head and laughed. "You guys are a hoot!"

His face then became serious, and his eyes closed. His body shifted just as a Felinians did in their transformations, but his transformation wasn't exactly the same.

No wonder Kitty called him mutt-face before. Eli could shift into a wolf or half-wolf, and there standing before us was a large sandy-furred wolf. He gazed around at us with his trained hunters' eyes and sniffed the air.

"Aw! A puppy!" M'gann exclaimed, hugging Eli around his neck. Eli huffed in offense.

"Eli is not a puppy, Miss Martian. He is a wolf." Kaldur corrected her as M'gann released him and stood up.

"I'm sorry if I offended you, Eli. I just have never seen a wolf before." M'gann apologized, offering him her hand to shake. Eli shifted back to human and shook her hand.

"It's okay. I get it a lot more than you think, but most don't apologize." He grinned, turning towards Kitty and I. "I've shown you my trick. Want to show me all of yours?"

I set Kitty on top of Sphere and quickly shifted into my tiger form, letting out an earsplitting roar. I shifted into my half-tiger form and then back to human. Eli seemed pleased as he turned his attention to the rest of the team. Artemis nodded and shot an arrow into a target that appeared. She then shot another two arrows right through the shaft of the first.

Kaldur powered up his water bearers and swung the twin maces. He demolished another practice dummy that had popped up.

Conner simply walked over and picked up Sphere with Kitty on top. I called for him to be careful as Kitty laughed and hugged Sphere. He nodded and set Sphere down, and Kitty jumped into his arms still laughing.

M'gann's eyes glowed green as she started floating and opened a telepathic link. "I am a Martian, capable of telepathy and telekinesis but only organics."

Robin was there one moment and gone the next, leaving only his laugh. He suddenly appeared on the training pad, taking down practice dummy after practice dummy with hand to hand combat.

Wally just started running around. He zoomed past me then past Artemis, snatched on of her arrows, handed it to Kaldur, zoomed past M'gann, and then stopped while leaning on Superboy. He made a finger gun and pretended to shoot M'gann while winking at her.

"Skirt-chasing show-off." I muttered, annoyed with my friend's fruitless antics. He was focusing all of his energy on the wrong girl. Artemis and he would make a much better couple. Besides, M'gann and Superboy were practically already dating.

"Now that introductions are over, you're dismissed. Eli will be staying at the cave full time, so show him around." Batman ordered, boom-tubing off to do whatever Bats does in the day.

"Who are you all anyways?" Eli asked.

"I'm Aqualad, but my name is Kaldur'Ahm. My friends call me Kaldur." The Atlantean stated, pointing to the rest of the team. "Artemis is also known as Artemis Crock. Superboy goes by the name Conner Kent. Kid Flash is Wally West. Miss Martian is M'gann M'orzz or Megan Morse, as she is known at school. Robin…does not tell people his real name, as instructed by Batman."

"I am Feralyn, or Lynn Ferald at school. That is my sister, Katriana, or Kitty Ferald. I am the queen of Felina, which makes my sister the princess. Please no formalities." I added, waving my hand towards Con and Kitty.

"Well, it's nice to meet you all." Our new teammate smiled and shook hands with those of us who weren't holding a scary 4-year-old girl who was willing to rip out his throat.

"As I do not think it is wise for Kitty to be near Eli much longer, I will take her out to the beach for a swim." I informed my team.

"Babe, you had me at beach." Wally said, instantly at my side with an arm on my shoulder.

"Not you, Wally, but you can come if you like. You did miss our last beach day." I smiled, remembering the day a little over a month ago and brushing his arm off.

"May I join you?" Kaldur asked, smiling gently.

"No!" Kitty made a face at him as she jumped into my arms, hugging me tightly. "My big sister!"

"Yes, you may join us, Kaldur." I sighed. I started back to our room still holding Kitty. "Honestly, Kitty. It's like you woke up this morning and decided to be mean to every male on the planet."

"I did! 'Cause they're all trying to take you away from me." Kitty stated, pouting cutely yet stubbornly.

I kissed her forehead gently. "Kitty, no male will ever take me completely away from you."

She seemed reassured, and I continued, "I will eventually have to get married, Kitty, but not for a while. I also would like you to know that Kaldur and I are together, so no sabotage missions. Remember, you have an open mind."

"Kaldur's only on my list because he's going to hurt you. I know he is." Kitty protested, tearing up.

I gently stroked her hair. "If Kaldur hurts me, I will deal with him, but I feel it in my gut that he won't ever hurt me on purpose. And has my gut ever been wrong?"

"No. Your gut hasn't ever been wrong, Big Sissy." Kitty agreed, calming down and smiling.

I carried her into my room. She went to go pull out her frilled baby pink one piece swimsuit while I pulled out my white bikini. We changed, and I coated her with sunscreen before we went out to the beach together with our towels. Kaldur and Wally were waiting for us.

Wally and Kitty raced into the water immediately laughing to see who would win without super powers. Kaldur pulled me into his embrace and kissed my forehead lightly. I smiled and rested my head on his chest, completely relaxed.

Suddenly, both Kaldur and I were drenched with cold seawater. We turned to look at Kitty and Wally, who hid buckets behind their backs and pointed at each other.

"He did it!" "She did it!" They yelled in unison.

"I will have my revenge!" I grinned, chasing them along the beach and laughing evilly. They laughed as they ran away.

I finally managed to scoop up Kitty and carried her to the water. I swung her counting to three before tossing her into the water. She surfaced a few moments later laughing.

Kaldur then appeared at my side with Wally over his shoulder. I grinned as I grabbed Wally's hands, and Kaldur held his feet. We counted to three while swinging him and threw him harder than I did with Kitty. He gets beat up by bad guys all the time. A little water isn't going to hurt him.

"Hey, Fera! Kaldur! Wally! Demon child!" Eli called from up on Mt. Justice at the back entrance waving.

"Big Sissy, I don't like him." Kitty grumbled, hugging my leg as I waved back at him and my other friends who were behind him in civvies.

"I know, sweetheart, but he's my teammate. I'm sure you'll get to like him eventually." I assured her, resting a hand on her head gently.

"No, I won't." Kitty argued, squeezing my leg tighter. My friends who were giving the tour and Eli went back inside.

Wally coaxed Kitty away from me to go build sandcastles. While she wasn't looking, Kaldur swooped in for a quick peck on the lips before diving under the water. I smiled and dove after him. We swam around for a while before getting hungry. We all went back inside to change and get dinner.

Kitty was so tired that she passed out on our bed in her swimsuit as soon as she hit the mattress. I changed her and tucked her in before showering. I changed into my civvies and went down to the kitchen where dinner was all set out.

M'gann and Artemis had made a delicious spread of fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn on the cob, and coleslaw with apple pie and ice cream for dessert. It was sort of a "Welcome to the team!" party for Eli, who at the moment was wolfing down food (no pun intended) with Wally.

"Hey, save some for the rest of us, Wally and Wally Two!" I protested, snatching some fried chicken legs and putting them on a plate. "Eat like normal human beings!"

Wally and Eli at least slowed down and actually chewed their food. Rob and Wally started whispering to each other, but most of us weren't paying attention to what they were saying.

"Hey, Eli. Kitty sure doesn't like you." Rob said to our new teammate snickering.

"She just needs time to adjust. I bet she doesn't really hate anyone and that she's just scared of strangers." Eli said logically, smiling.

"Yeah. She tries to scratch every stranger's eyes out." Wally said sarcastically.

"We bet that you wouldn't last a week babysitting her." Rob smirked confidently.

"Oh, yeah? I bet she'll love me by the end of that week!" Eli exclaimed.

"You can't ask for anyone's help, and they can't help you." Wally informed him.

"No problem. I'm great with kids. I'm sure Kitty'll be fine." Eli shrugged grinning.

"Um, do I get a say in this or not?" I interjected, raising my hand. "She is my baby sister, after all."

"Fine. If Kitty's not with Eli, she has to be with Fera, but only a little bit every day." Wally sighed, probably thinking that I'd ruined his fun.

"Deal." Eli said, shaking Rob's and KF's hands.

Kaldur leaned over and whispered in my ear, "This will not end well."

"Eli, you have life insurance, right?" Artemis inquired as I nodded in agreement to Kaldur.

"No, why?" Eli asked, confused.

"You're gonna need it." Artemis told him.

Eli dismissed the idea. "Kitty'll love me by the end of the week. You'll see."

We finished our dinner, and M'gann and I served the apple pie and ice cream. M'gann was really getting better at baking, and the pie was really good, especially since it was still hot out of the oven. Wally and Wally Two (Eli) scarfed a whole pie each down with half a gallon of ice cream, saving only one pie and another half a gallon of ice cream for the rest of us. I packed up the leftovers and put them in the fridge for Kitty to eat tomorrow.

"Wally, Eli, if I find this food gone without Kitty eating it, you two will get buried neck deep in the sand when the tide comes in." I growled at them. They nodded quickly, and we split to go to our rooms and unwind.

Kaldur walked me back to my room and stopped right outside my door. He squeezed my hand affectionately then gently kissed me. I kissed back, loving the tingly feeling his touch gave me. When he pulled away, he bowed and kissed my hand.

"It has been a pleasure being with you today as always, milady." He smiled, his lips tickling the back of my hand.

I curtsied smiling. "I enjoyed myself as well, milord. I hope to have the pleasure of spending the day with you again."

Kaldur hugged me and whispered in my ear, "Anytime, anywhere, Fera."

I hugged him back. "I'll hold you to that."

We both laughed softly and bid each other good night. I watched Kaldur walk to his down the hall and around the corner to his room before I turned to go into my own room.

"Oh, Fera! I'm glad I found you. See, I'm having this problem with my sense of direction…" Eli said, sighing in relief as he walked up to me.

"Having trouble finding your room?" I smiled in amusement.

He scratched the back of his head grinning. "How'd you guess?"

"The lost look on your face." I laughed and led him a few doors down to a door with two wolves and a full moon painted on it.

"Thanks, Fera. See you tomorrow, yeah?" Eli grinned, opening his door.

"Sure. You can come to me if you need anything, but it better be very important if it's before 9 o'clock in the morning on a weekend." I told him, partially joking.

"Will do." He stated, going into his room and shutting the door.

I walked back to my room and got ready for bed. As I climbed into bed, Kitty stirred.

"Hm? Big Sissy?" She mumbled, still mostly asleep.

"It's just me, Kitten. Go back to sleep." I whispered, gently kissing her forehead and stroking her hair. She slowly fell back asleep, cuddling into my side. I wrapped my arms around her protectively and pulled her closer, slowly drifting off to sleep myself.
