Author's Note: I'm back! And a lot faster this time... Right? Anyway it has still been a long time. Does anyone actually remember what has happened in this story because every time I write a new chapter I end up re-reading the whole story. It's only been 8 chapters but it feels like I've written a novel.
Thanks for the reviews by the way, they really made me smile. I'm not sure if I've replied to them or not so sorry if I haven't. But I will reply to any new ones that come up after this chapter.
Summary of last chapter: Emma and Killian are seperated once again when Hook stops Emma going through the portal. But Emma, Hook and Cora arrive in Storybrooke not too much longer after the others via the Jolly Rodger.
Meanwhile the Charmings are enjoying a small 'Welcome Home' party for Mary-Margret and Past Emma when the party-goers realise who is at the party and only see them as villains. Killian than thinks he doesn't belong there and leaves.
I don't own Once Upon a Time because if I did I would not need to write this.
(Anyone have an idea for the title? If so let me know!)
Past Emma's P.O.V:
Emma turned around but Hook was already gone. Everyone had gone back to their conversations and her parents walked over to her. "What were you thinking when you invited those two?" Her mother asked in a hushed tone.
"We're celebrating today because of Regina. She helped us get home. No matter what she did in the past, we owe her our thanks now. And for Hook, he isn't the same one who tried to stop us. He was helping us." She didn't bother speaking in a hushed tone. Both Regina and Hook wanted to fit in somehow, it wasn't a secret.
"Didn't you think to tell us about it?" Her mother asked. She rolledher eyes and tried to shake off the memory.
"I did, but you two were a little busy this afternoon." Now she was speaking in a hushed tone. David's arm was around Mary-Margret's waist.
"Emma, she tried to kill us, earlier today!"
"No, she didn't." She said getting more annoyed. "She's trying to change for Henry. He believes in her. And, right now, that's enough for me. I couldn't have changed if I wasn't given a chance, so… She gets one, too." She glanced at Regina who was offering her lasagna to others.
"And what about Hook? There is still another one out there who must make it to Storybrooke somehow, with Cora. Just because we trust the future Emma, it doesn't mean we should trust the future Hook." Her father just stood their and agreed with what Mary-Margret said.
"Well I do." She was surprised to hear herself say it, and apparently so was her parents. "My future self does as well. She even loves him so that just proves he's changed. He doesn't deserve to be alone at the moment." She didn't miss her father's surprised look. She turned and went in the direction Hook had escaped to.
Killian's P.O.V:
What was he thinking accepting an invitation to a party where everyone knows him as the villain? He could never say no to Emma. He goes back up to his room taking off his jacket and throwing it on to a nearby chair. He sank on to the bed wanting more than anything to see his Swan's face. The one who was open and trusted him.
He still had that empty feeling inside of him that just wouldn't go away. It didn't feel like a heartbreak, he knew what those felt like. He had often felt like this after Milah died. He ran his hands through his hair.
There was no knock but the door opened anyway. He looked up to see Emma. "Hey." She said closing the door.
"What do you want?" He asked more harshly than he intended.
"For you to come back down there." She said taking steps closer to him. "I explained to my parents everything." He still wasn't convinced, but she still wasn't done talking. She sat next to him on the bed. "You can't stay up here alone." She said finally.
"What about you tell me about this princess who turned your life around? Get you mind off some things." He looked up at her blank expression. Her hand was on his hook. He looked more closely, she still didn't realise that she was he princess which he was talking about.
"As you wish." She was surprised for a second but the look quickly faded.
"This princess, she isn't a princess who depends on a prince to save her. The only one who saves her is herself, and she makes that quite clear. I met her on an adventure to retrieve something precious. We worked well together, but when I thought that she actually trusted me she left."
He continued looking into her eyes, the slightest recognition showing.
"I came found her again, and it happened in a cycle. That was until I learnt that she had a connection with someone from my past. A young boy whom I meet in Neverland. After learning of his passing I helped the princess on another mission to Neverland."
"She went to Neverland?" Emma asked astonished. She was starting to see that it was herself he was talking about.
"Aye. I was intrigued by her from the beginning. She was the first to not fall for my charms. But it wasn't until our first kiss did I realise that I loved her." She was leaning dangerously close to him now, their lips almost touching. But he pulled back.
"I think we should get back down to the gathering. It is for you, you can't miss it." He says standing up. She gathers herself and stands up as well.
"You're right." She says brushing past him and out the door. He closes his eyes. As much as he wants to feel her lips on his, who knows what that could do to the time line. So he forgets about it and follows her out the door.
Emma's P.O.V:
The cabin door finally opens and Hook walks inside. She stays seated where she is. "Come on lass, we've arrived." He says going back up to deck. She stands going up to the deck. It's dark now, but there is the docks of Storybrooke.
"Just how you remember lass?" He whispered to her. She didn't reply as they walked on to land. Cora was standing there waiting. She looked very out of place with her gown.
"Well I guess this is where we part ways. It was a pleasure working with you." Any regular person would think he was sincere, but she wasn't any regular person to him. He was being sarcastic, only slight.
He turned around dragging her along when Cora teleported in front of them to stop them. "You're not going anywhere." She said plainly.
"Why not? We had an agreement." He said through his teeth.
"That was before she came along." Cora looked at her and he only glanced.
"What does it matter? You already know about the future. I need her to kill the dark one." She stiffened, he sounded darker than the Hook she had met at first. He was still holding her arm, his grip was tight. She didn't bother with the confused glance this time.
"You really think she is powerful enough to kill the dark one?" Cora says followed by a small laugh.
"You saw her memories, just before they came through the portal. She was able to knock down Rumplestiltskin with her magic. That proves something at least." Cora clenched her jaw.
"What about I propose a new deal? You help me get my daughter back and I'll help you with your revenge on Rumplestiltskin." He shifted.
"How would you help me with my revenge?" Hook asked.
"I know more about Rumplestiltskin then you think. What do you say, Captain? Do we have a deal?" He looked at her then back to Cora.
"Deal. Now, what shall we do?" He said with a grin on his face, not the one she was use to every time they were together, but an evil like grin that made her shiver.
Killian's P.O.V:
The party goes smoothly. Or as smoothly as a party with a bunch of fairy tale characters can get. He sat in a booth at the back and Emma always made sure she was near or around there. No one talked to him. Who wanted to talk to the pirate Captain Hook?
It got interesting when a man burst in. He was short and had a yellow cap and jacket on. He looked familiar, but where from?
"The saviour, she's been kidnapped!" That got everyone's attention and he stood up from where he was sitting to stand behind Emma.
"What do you mean? She's right here." Her mother said looking to Emma. The man also looked at her in shock and confusion. Then he looked at him.
"But... But I saw her. With Captain Hook... And another lady..." He was lost for words. Everyone started whispering and Emma turned around to look at him.
"Does that mean?" She started.
"Yes. They've come." Emma, his Emma was in Storybrooke.
"Then we should go get her." She stated as though it was obvious. She stood up and he stayed seated.
"No, as much as I would like to right now going after her would be a suicide mission." He looked up to meet her gaze.
"So you're just going to leave her there with... Them?" He stood up from the both. People were listening to their conversation. So he spoke in a hushed tone.
"I don't want to, I need you to know that. But I don't know what will happen if I try going after her now. We just need to be patient." The diner was still silent. They didn't need to worry everyone else. Snow was already trying to calm the man who came running in.
"Okay, you're right." She was also speaking in a hushed tone.
"What's this about two saviours?" Someone yells.
"And two pirates?" This causes an uproar in the diner. He looked around, everyone was aiming it at Swan. She looked confused and scared. He didn't know what to do either. He saw Snow and Red take the man who had come in the diner out.
Soon enough David spoke up.
"Hey!" The diner turned to him. "There is nothing to worry about. We suspect the man was seeing things and that's all." He looked over to Emma and she gave him a grateful smile. Then she ran out the door.
He followed her as he always did, pushing past people to get to the door. She was just about to pass the gate.
"Emma wait!" He came down the steps and she stopped. "Why are you running?" She turned around to face him.
"Everyone was putting pressure on me for an answer, and- and I didn't know what to say." She said arms coming to hug herself. Emma, future Emma, had this same problem at one point too. Thinking that she had to do everything by herself.
"I'm the Saviour, I'm suppose to be the person people turn to for answers. Lately I feel like I am no more than a puppet in a show called life." His Emma thought that she didn't have the ability to be the Saviour.
"Emma you are a great saviour, I've seen what you can do and I couldn't imagine anyone else in your role." He stepped closer surprised she didn't step back. "You do great, I promise." She gave him a sad smile. "Now why don't you go back inside and enjoy yourself."
"Thanks Hook." She smiled at him before going back inside. He quietly looked into the darkness from where he was standing before going back to 'enjoy' the party.
Emma's P.O.V:
She stood on the roof top with Cora and Hook by her side looking down at Granny's. She wanted to scream out Killian's name when he came out but Cora muted her voice. The next pair to walk out was her and Regina. She remembered that conversation. After they parted ways Cora twisted her wrist and she was able to speak again.
"She broken enough for your plan yet?" She said harshly. She knew the plan, Cora wanted to brake Regina so that she would run back to her.
"Not yet." The twisted mother replies. "But she will. We're not making the same mistake we would've made." They watched Regina as she walked down the street, but her eyes were on Granny's.
The urge to scream out, for Killian to find her was too much. So she did.
"Killian!" She screamed as loud as she could. As soon as she did Hook put his hand over her mouth pulling her back to him. His hook went around her right arm harshly.
"You foolish girl!" Cora scowled at her. She hears the bell at Granny's ring and she sees Killian run out with Past Emma behind.
"You'll regret doing that love." She could feel his warm breath on her ear and she involuntary shivered. It felt too much like Killian, her Killian. She could almost feel the grin that was plastered on Hook's face. She didn't take her eyes off Killian as purple smoke clouded her vision. She was sure that she heard him say,
"Emma."
A/N: So how was that? I've had serious writers block for this story. I had a plan with it... Then I forgot it. I still have a rough idea, but your thoughts? (I'll try to update in the next 3 months this time)
