Several years have passed, the famine had finally arrived. While ponies stayed indoors to prevent the damage, several livestock, water, and chaos became a wasteland. The Pharaoh's true perfection became so disastrous, he would say it was a better improvement. As Shine examined the damage which had happened, he first was happy to save the ponies in this kingdom. However, his happiness faded as he thought of something back home.

"Papa," a small voice called from behind.

When Shine turned around, his oldest son Star Swirl was looking towards his father. He had the same coat and color of himself when he was young, but his cutie mark were stars swirling around in circles. While he was still young himself, he started to grow somewhat of a goatee.

"Is something wrong?"

"It is nothing, my son." Shine mentioned calmly. "I'm just concerned of a family who resides far from the Chaos kingdom, but I sometimes wonder if they have been spared by the famine."

"I'm sure they did, father. I bet by the stars they are safe and sound."

"Me too, Star. Me too."

Meanwhile, back at Shine's home, several ponies were returning from work, starving for the life of it. While they expected a meal for the family, they were unable to look for one.

"Welcome home, sisters." A meek Pegasus greeted.

"Are there any food for all of us, Lily?" Time Twist asked, "we're starving."

"I'm afraid not. You, um, ate the last bits of food."

"Oh that's great. " Moon groaned, "we're out of food and there's no other meal we can get it from."

"Speaking of, has any pony seen mom?" Justice asked after grabbing her bag off of her.

"Um, she said she had to get something downtown. She'll be back soon."

As soon as she completed her sentence, the door started to open from the outside. When all the girls glanced at the door, their mother was coming in with little amount of food left from the store.

"Mother, is this all we have?"

"Unfortunately yes."

"We have to do something mom."

"Yeah, we can't just starve here to death."

"I know that, sweetie, but there's nothing we can do."

She then grabbed her food bag and handed it towards Justice.

"Eat as much as you can. I will not eat tonight."

As her mother started to walk towards her room, Lily followed behind to comfort her sorrows, leaving ten older ponies behind.

"Poor mother," Sapphire, one of the sisters replied, "she hasn't been the same since Shine's death."

"It's like her soul had disappeared all of a sudden." another sister named Rosemary added.

"Even if we try to cheer her up, no pony can make her simply smile at all," the third sister Night agreed.

"Well, it's not our fault," Lunar Moon doubted.

"Is it though?" inquired Radiance, "Is it really not our fault our mother starves herself to death and never spend quality time with any of us at all?"

"At least Lily is trying so hard to be with her." Eminence suggested. "She's in there everyday to cheer her up."

"But even her beautiful singing voice isn't lifting her spirits either." Emerald included. "What should we do, Justice?"

While all the sisters glance towards her, even she didn't know what to do. All she could think about was the betrayal she had done with her brother the last time she saw him.

"What we need to do is think of a plan to survive this famine." Time Twist offered, "Even if we try our best to help our mother, it will never change the damage which we have done."

"Yes, but where?" Sapphire asked.

"Maybe we can go to the Chaos Kingdom where there's food, water, shelter, and everything in between," Diane suggested, "I'm sure we can be able to get enough to last us food for months at a time."

The girls looked at her with such shocked and surprised. How in the world did Diane would know much about that particular kingdom? No pony knew such a place exists and if so, no pony ventures up there before.

"What?"

"How do you all about that, Diane?" Justice asked.

"I read it on that piece of paper that's outside our window."

As soon as those words left her mouth, a small flyer was stuck on a small window. When the girls tried to read what it says, a Pegasus mare started to run into the window. With enough magic, Justice and Time Twist opened the window to prevent any collateral damage inside the house. Inside the house laid a Pegasus mare who had eyes looking upon different directions.

"Mystic Wind?" Radiance inquired, "what are you doing here?"

"Sorry about that. I was to deliver this flyer to the house of Charms."

"What's the flyer about, Wind?"

"The Chaos kingdom is allowing every part of the area to come and gain some food."

"Where's this Chaos kingdom?"

"How do we know it's legit?"

"And who's this stallion? He seems to be pretty cute."

"Well, many ponies have gathered their meals from this country, so that sounds legit. Also, that's Shining Moon. He is an alicorn prince in the area."

"Even better."

"Radiance!"

"What? Just saying."

"How much would it be for us to get some food?"

"That depends on what the prince commands."

The girls looked towards each other and towards Mystic.

"Thanks Mystic."

When Mystic started to fly towards the next house, the remaining ten walked towards their mother's bedside to explain the good news. Sadly, Charms wasn't amused or excited for this idea.

"Do you believe I will allow my children to go to this new world? Absolutely not."

"Mother," Justice assured, "if we do not have food soon, then we'll die of starvation as we know it."

Charms thought for a moment as the girls went towards her bedside for a plea. She even looked at Lily as her eyes started to assure them hope for their future.

"Very well," she agreed, "Only you ten can go."

"Why can't I go, mother?"

"I want you to stay with me, dear." she answered. "There are dangerous creatures out there."

"But I can-"

"I said no!"

Without uttering another word, Lily sadly sat down on the side and nodded lightly. The ten had never seen their mother snap at her favorite child before, even when Star Shine was there. Moments passed, as the ten plan on their trip to the Chaos Kingdom. When they were close of being ready, Lily stands near the front door, waiting for them with a small bag.

"Um...girls...if you...see this...prince of the land...could you um...give him this?"

When she sprouted her wings, it was her precious little whistle carved in the shape of a bird.

"No, Lily. You know we can't just take something like that. That's your prize possession." Time Twist mentioned.

"I know, but um...if we show how special we are, I'm sure he will accept this gift."

"Alright," Rosemary agreed, "We'll hold it for you. If he accepts, then it'll be a blessing."

"But if he doesn't," Lunar sarcastically teased, "then your gifts are pointless for the prince."

Not understanding her joke, Lily sighed and whimpered into tears. The other nine glared at Lunar Moon knowing her sarcasms were taken too far.

"Kidding. Can't no pony take my jokes?"

"We'll be back in short amount of time." Justice said as she hugged Lily

"Be back soon."

With that being said, the ten left their homeland and travelled into a world where no pony has ever been in their existence: the Chaos Kingdom.
