I knew that on facebook I promised I would update yesterday between 4-6 but complications arose so I had to reschedule. Anyway, I am in Christmas break so I may update a chapter or two, no promises. I hope you enjoy. Merry Holidays (for those who are not religious.)
Third Person
As Poseidon walked through the halls of Olympus, he thought of the challenged Percy made to Triton. School couldn't possibly be so hard that Triton couldn't survive for 2 years as a mortal, could it? Nah, Poseidon could go through it with his eyes close, no problem. He wasn't the smartest god but living for billions of years certainly had its perks. He'd seen how the education had developed over the years and, as much as it would shock Athena, he'd paid attention to it. Poseidon would never tell Athena that. He'd rather wait for the right moment to shock her, see the priceless look on her face.
Poseidon smiled at the thought of Athena being speechless because of him. For once, he would like to make her shut up about how she's smarter than him. There was no denying that Athena will always be smarter than any god, after all she is the Goddess of Wisdom, but she is always rubbing it into Poseidon's face and that bothered him a lot. He had a lot of patience, heck he might as well be the god of the sea, horses, earthquakes, storms, and patience, but he knew that one day Athena would have used it all. As the scenery changed from the halls of Olympus to the gardens of Demeter, Poseidon looked for the closest balcony to lean on.
When he found it, he put his hands on the smooth marble rail and looked over the balcony down to the mortal world. He smiled to himself as memories rushed back into his head. Looking around to make sure no one was watching, Poseidon made a sharpie appear in his hand. He knew that if Demeter catched him or even found the writing, she would make his life impossible but he still took the risk. Once he finished writing, he made the sharpie disappear and stared at the rail.
This Belongs To: Poseidon, God of the Sea, Earthquakes, Storms, Horses, and (in the future) Patience
P.S. Yes, I just declared a balcony mine. Also, Demeter, if you leave this alone (and not kill me) I'll get the cereal you like so much…(Yes, I'm talking about the one Athena has in her Temple.)
P.P.S. Athena, you get really annoying sometimes…Scratch that, all the times.
"What are you doing?"
Poseidon jumped a thousand feet into the air as he heard the hardened voice. He rushed to cover the writing with his hand and turned to look at Athena with a small and gentle smile.
"Nothing."
She raised an eyebrow. "For some reason, it doesn't seem like 'Nothing', Poseidon."
Athena walked next to Poseidon and rested her arms and elbows on the balcony. Poseidon's eye twitched as he got rid of the sudden want to shove Athena off his balcony. Instead, he relaxed and tried his best to ignore her germs all over his stuff.
"Fine, I'm thinking."
"Don't hurt your brain, Uncle, we wouldn't want a mentally challenged god as an Olympian."
"Hmm, keep being the goddess of wisdom and then we'll see who turns mentally challenged."
Athena rolled her eyes. "What are you thinking about anyway?"
"Percy challenged Triton to live as a mortal in the mortal world for two years." He said, "I'm just thinking about the outcome that this could be."
"He'll probably fail. If you're not school material neither are your kids." Athena said. "If Perseus had challenged you then you would fail."
There she goes. Calling him dumb in a hidden way. Okay, he would challenge her. Maybe then, when he won, she would shut up.
"Fine, I bet you the same that Percy bet Triton."
"Oh, you are going to lose." She said as she raised her right arm.
Poseidon raise his right arm and shook hands with Athena. She smirked but looked besides Poseidon's elbow and Poseidon quickly let go of Athena's hand to cover his writing. With the smirk still on her face, she turned away and started to walk in the other direction.
She came to a sudden stop and turned around, glaring at him. "And Poseidon, please leave my cereal alone."
She turned around and walked away just as Poseidon allowed a rebellious smirk to take over his lips. He snapped his fingers and box of cereal appeared on the balcony. With a wide smirk, Poseidon grabbed the box and shoved his hand in it, taking a fistful of the little ambrosia covered squares.
"She does make good cereal."
