I know I've been MIA for a while but I'm back now and don't worry the next chapter is almost done. So without further delay, chapter 7! R&R please :)

Chapter 7: A Bitch and A Flirt

School the next day was slow, it felt never ending and odd, like someone was watching me. I shrugged it off and made my way to lunch. Since it was warm we'd all decided to eat outside on one of the long wooden picnic tables.

I was the last one there, because I ran to the girls locker room to post the names of the new cheerleaders. Since we couldn't seem to choose just two people we decided to add 2 more people. After all, the more the merrier right? We picked Katie, Samantha, —of course — Kya, and Camille. I knew Jon was happy about that from his tiny little smile when we'd said her name last night.

Aside from that we'd also finished most of the plans for the blacklight party, and Mags had picked out the invite designs. Like always the party strictly invite only, even if we did invite almost the entire school.

I was snapped out of my thoughts when I saw a familiar face at our table. A face that I was not happy to see...Kaelie Whitewillow. Ugh, talk about a bitch, I was surprised she didn't have her lackeys, Jessamine Lovelace and Seelie Queen. For some reason she felt the need to make my life a living hell whenever she could. It had gotten worse since I became cheer captain, because she wanted the spot just as much as I did.

She had her hands all over Jace, practically siting on his lap. Hello, people are trying to eat here. I grimaced but smoothed out my features as I approached the table and too the empty spot between Izzy and Maia. Ah, the perks of being small.

"Hey guys," I greeted my friends and began eating the pb&j I'd just pulled from my bag.

I got hellos in return before the table fell into its usual talk about nothing and everything. Kaelie, who I was trying my hardest to ignore, found everything that Jace did hilarious and was giggling like an idiot. I rolled my ever and turned to Magnus.

"So Mags did you ever find a place that sells the paint we need?" I questioned, still tuning out the blonde bimbo who's low cut red crop top had somehow hiked up to just below her boob.

Ugh, looking on that direction was not a good idea.

"I did actually, it should get here in time party," he smiled but it soon dropped once he remembered who was sitting with us.

"Oooooh," she spoke up he voice much to high to be real, "you're having a party Magnus?" I cringed and turned to Magnus just like everyone else at the table.

"Umm, yeah. Y'know nothing big though. Just a few friends," he replied looking at the blonde, a hint of annoyance in his voice.

"What do you mean, you always have the best parties? But for some reason my invite never comes," she pouted and most of us resisted the urge to laugh, my giggle rang loudly through the table and she snapped her attention to me. "Something funny, shortcake?" She snapped, glaring.

I glared right back, "Only the fact that you think people actually enjoy your presence." Since I was sitting on the other side of the table I could see the glint of anger in her eyes at the insult.

"What makes you think I want to be anywhere you are anyways?!" Kaelie was almost yelling now, I saw Jace cringe slightly at the sound of her high pitched voice in his ears.

"The fact that you're at my lunch table says a lot," I stated matter of factly and crossed my arms over my chest.

"Well I'm only here for Jacey," she rubbed her hands over his chest to support that, "Actually you being here is killing my mood," she stood and held out her hand, "let's go Jacey."

We all sat there and waited to see what he would do. It was then that I realized that Jon wasn't at the table. After a few more seconds he took her hand and walked back into the school with the blonde bimbo.

"God I hate her," I stated mostly to myself.

"Gotta hand it to you Fray, you can really hold your own when it comes to Kaelie," Jordan stated, you could hear the pride in his voice.

I smiled for the first time since I had gotten to lunch. But the smile soon fell when I got that feeling again, the feeling like someone was watching me. I turned towards the school and tried to look through the windows and what not, but I couldn't find anything. Well nothing except for a jogging Jon coming towards our table.

"Hey guys, sorry I'm late," he said, his breathing slightly labored.

"Where were you? You missed Clary being a badass." Simon said, grinning.

Jon looked at him suspiciously, "Coach called me to his office to ask about practice without him yesterday, I just told him about the scrimmage. But what's this about Clary being badass?" He raised an eyebrow looking at me and taking the seat Jace and his bimbo had occupied.

"One word," Maia said before I could answer, "Kaelie."

"Ah, now I get it," Jon said, pulling his lunch from his black backpack.

Then the rest of lunch went on as usual, but I still couldn't shake the feeling like I was being watched. On top of that I couldn't figure out why I felt like Jace had somehow betrayed me by going with Kaelie.

~•~•~

I had just left Spanish, and was heading to the locker room to change for practice when an arm snaked around my shoulders, I jumped and looked at the pale hand before looking to the face of who it belonged to.

"Hey Clary," Sebastian said, with a voice that I guess was supposed to be seductive, but gave me a small chill instead. He noticed and I guess that made him think it was working.

"Hey Seb," I greeted kindly, even though I was slightly uncomfortable Sebastian was a nice enough guy even if he was the biggest flirt in the world.

We continued to walk towards the locker rooms, his arm still around my shoulders, "How about you and me skip practice today, and go out?" He asked, I rolled my eyes.

"I don't think it's a good idea for the captain to skip her first practice with the rookies," I glanced at him, still walking.

"So how about this Friday then?" He asked, still using that 'seductive' voice from before.

I thought it over for a second, biting my lip. What the hell, I thought, one date never hurt anyone, "Sure Seb," he smiled at me, and I had to admit it was a pretty nice smile, "pick me up at 7." I smiled at him and realized we'd stopped at the locker room doors.

"Can't wait," he said and removed his arm from its place on my shoulders before disappearing through the locker room door.

I mirrored his actions before changing and heading outside. I was, unsurprisingly, the last one there.

"Hey guys," I greeted everyone. Maia and Isabelle walked up to me.

"Where the hell were you?" Maia asked, " you're like 10 minutes late."

"Sorry I was talking to Sebastian and then he asked me out and–"

"Wait," Izzy interrupted, "he asked you out?" I could see the gears turning in her head, already planning my outfit for the night. "What'd you say?" Both her and Maia looked at me expectantly.

"I said yes," Isabelle practically squealed, while Maia was grinning proudly.

"Awe our little Clare-Bear is growing up," Maia said, hugging me tightly.

"So when's the date?" Iz asked.

"Friday at 7, so if you're done prying into my private life, we have a squad to run here." I smiled at them before turning to the lot of the squad, noticing Kaelie wasn't there.

I shrugged it off and decided against turning to look and see if Jace was out on the field.
