Chapter 9: Quidditch

A/N: Woo! Two chapters in one day! Hopefully this will make up for time it took for me to update my last chapter! Please read and review! I reached my target for two reviews so thank you!

At about 10:30 that night, Peter, James and Remus went up to their dormitory and noticed Sirius was sleeping.

"Shh!" whispered Remus.

The months came and went, and all too soon it was the first Quidditch match of the season: Gryffindor vs. Slytherin. James was really nervous and woke up at three o'clock the morning of the game. He polished his broom, went out for some flying practise, came back in and had a three hour shower.

James went down to breakfast really early and met up with the Gryffindor team.
"Hey, guys," he said yawning. None of them really said anything, though Wood might have mumbled "Hi,".

The rest of the Gryffindors and the others houses came down later on, and soon enough it was time for the match.

They walked out onto the pitch to deafening cheers, coming from three of the four houses. Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff were supporting Gryffindor too. Slytherins just glared at everyone else.

"And let the games begin!" yelled the commentator, whose last name James thought might have been Jordan.

He'd never been more nervous in his life. He shot up on his broom immediately and grabbed hold of the Quaffle.

"James Potter, the youngest Chaser in 500 hundred years, grabs immediate hold of the Quaffle!".

James soared higher than all the other Slytherins; having the most advanced broom available did make it easy to stay out of everyone's way. He threw with all his might towards the left goal hoop, but the Slytherin Keeper, a fifth-year girl was in front of the right, and couldn't fly over in time.

"Potter scores! 10 points to Gryffindor! Ouch, the Slytherin Seeker takes a nasty Bludger to the head!"

James kept scoring, all the time wondering how the girl made the team, a first year beating a fifth year.

The Beaters on the Gryffindor team were doing their job extremely well, and they kept the Slytherins from hardly touching the Quaffle. And with Wood defending the hoops when it went near, 20 minutes in it was 430-0 to Gryffindor. 10 minutes later…

"The Gryffindor Seeker seems to have spotted something! He certainly has! Walker catches the Golden Snitch, earning Gryffindor a further 150 points, and the match ends 580-0 to Gryffindor! GRYFFINDOR WIN!"

A massive cheer went up from three of the fur Hogwarts houses. James and the rest of the team flew down to the ground and were hailed immediately by the rest of Gryffindor. They were carried in on everyone's shoulders, and James got a massive scrape on his head by the time they put him down in the Gryffindor common room.

"That was brilliant, James!" exclaimed Sirius. James smiled.
"Thanks,".

They had a massive party and even McGonagall put her head in the doorway, grabbed some Butterbeer and left.

They went to bed at maybe three o'clock that morning. Luckily it was a Saturday. Unluckily for Remus, it was a full moon on Sunday.

Remus had to leave for the *train* at around 2:00.

"Bye," he said wearily. The others said the same, then he left to go down to the Shrieking Shack.

Sirius watched him go, then stood up.
"You guys stay here. There's something I want to check,". With that, he walked up to the dormitory.

He walked over to the drawers next to Remus's bed, and felt slightly guilty when he opened the middle one. Inside, he found a calendar. And all the dates of the full moon were circled in red. Sirius looked at it and bit his lip. He'd began to suspect Remus was lying to them.

He shook his head, put the calendar back, and went back to his friends.
"You know," he began. "I've been thinking, we kind of need a name,".
"A name?" asked Peter.
"Yes, a name," Sirius replied impatiently. "We play tons of pranks and I want a name for us,".

"What about the Marauders?" suggested James.
"Hm… the Marauders… I like it," replied Sirius.
"Me too," said Peter.

"I know!" said James, "I've got an idea!".

He grabbed a piece of parchment and a few Muggle gel pens lying on a table.

He wrote, The Marauders Dorm: Keep Out! And coloured it in.
"There," he said finally, holding it up.
"That looks good," said Peter.

James ran up and Charmed it up on the dormitory door.
"There!" he said again proudly, stepping back to admire it.

A/N: Okay, this is much shorter than usual. But hey, at least it's another chapter, right? Anyway, I'm flicking between this and AVPS songs. Joe Walker is the funniest person ever
