Suzuno was as usual back on her way to the hospital, after all the commotion she had today, she hadn't time to visit her boyfriend yet, but when she was almost there, her eyes invaded on a colorful flower shop. 'Hmm, perhaps I can buy new flowers for him, the old ones are standing there for too long now...' she thought to herself as she gazed at the shop.

She fumbled in her trouser pocket and pulled out some money. 'Enough for a big bunch of flowers!' she smiled and walked inside. The shop was huge and flowers of all types and sizes were there, from small pink flowers to big violet ones. They were sorted by size and color, so she went to the big bouquets. There was a flower species that obviously made the most sense to purchase for him, the tulip. But it is precisely because that, that she wanted to buy him something else.

The flower only was given to him, because he had a shape-like figure on his head. He always tells them he likes it, but maybe just a change for once would do it. Yet, since his favorite color still was red, she decided to look for a red flower.

After a couple of minutes looking around, she stopped at one particular flower, Suzuno was never really into the world of flowers, she found it worthless things. But right now she was standing in front of a flower so beautiful that she couldn't retrieve her eyes away from it.

"That one is beautiful, don't you think?" She suddenly heard next to her, it was the women who worked at the flower shop, who clearly caught her staring at the beautiful flower.

"Y-yes." She stammered. "What is its name?"

"His name is, Cosmos atrosanguineus, but he is also called chocolate cosmos." she smiled kindly. "It's been instinct in the wild for over a hundred years now, it's such a shame... they're so beautiful!" She said as her friendly gaze turned a bit sadder, but then she smiled again. "Here!" She grabbed one of them out of the tub with water. "Smell it, they have a dilicious vanilla fragment in the summer!"

She accepted the flower from the unknown woman, and pressed her nose in it. Once the great vanilla smell retracted her nose, she devoted her eyes. A moment she felt as if she smelled Nagumo, he always smelled like vanilla, and the smell of the flower made her think like she was hugging him. A small blush formed on her cheeks as she gazed lovingly at the flower. "How much costs this flower?" She asked, her eyes still on the flower.

"Unfortunately quite a lot, they are pretty rare. Here is the price tag."

"Hm, I just have a shortfall for three." Suzuno said disappointed.

"Who are you going to give the flowers, to a special someone?" The woman winked.

"Yes, they are for my boyfriend, he's in the hospital and I want to replace the old flowers for a couple of special ones. The fragrance of these flowers reminds me of him, so do me just two then." She said softly with a smile on her face.

"Here!" The woman said as she handed her four flowers. "You can take them for free, see it as a gift!"

"R-Really, l-let me at least pay you two of them, I can always bring the money later!"

"It's fine, flowers are a gift after all!" She winked. "Well hurry up, the visiting hours at the hospital won't last long anymore." She smiled, as she pushed Suzuno with the flowers outside. "Tell your boyfriend that I wish he gets well soon!"

"I-I can't he's-..." Suzuno stopped talking, maybe it was better not to tell her. "-Yeah, I will, thank you very much!" She bowed. "I really appreciate it!" She said as she stared at the ground.

"Your welcome sweetheart, now off you go!" She smiled one last time, as she then turned around and helped other people in the shop. Suzuno remained just staring at the colorful shop, while a charming smile appeared on her face. 'Small things like this always make me a lot happier, it's always pleased to know that kind people in this world still exist.' She thought as her smile widened, then she turned around. "I will tell him when he wakes up!" She mumbled to herself with the same happy smile.

She walked on, when all of a sudden something came to her mind, the vase on Nagumo's room was made for large bunches of flowers, one which three of her would not fill the vase. She took the money out of her pocket and looked at it. 'I think I have just enough to still get a nice little vase, but I have to hurry or I won't make it.'

She fastened her pace and walked into the first shop that sold vases. With a few minutes of surging she found one which was perfect and which she was capable of buying. With in one hand the bag with in that her vase and in her other hand four flowers she walked to the hospital.

She stepped into the elevator and stood next to a boy in a wheelchair, he smiled kindly at her but said nothing further, he was bald and seemed tired. Suzuno felt sympathy for him, he was highly likely to be serious ill, but despite the fact that he was ill, he still friendly greeted her and looked so peaceful. Suzuno smiled lovely back and told him to have a good day as she stepped out on the third floor.

As the door behind her closed and the elevator went up she stared at the door right in front of her. Room number: '34-D' with beneath that the name: 'Nagumo Haruya.'

Her smile faded slightly, but stayed on her face. She opened the door with her elbow since her hands were occupied, and walked with her back ahead into the room. When she turned around, she saw him lying there alone, his eyes closed, his face still directed towards the ceiling.

She put things in her hands on the ground and first walked over to the bed, as she pressed a little kiss on his mouth and took the hair out of his face. She rested her hand on his still pale and sweaty face as she whispered. "You have to wake up soon sweetie, I have to tell you so much now, you keep getting behind on the news more and more." Her words made her sad, yet happy. She was imagining that he would wake up every day, and the days she went through were getting harder, but today she finally took a step ahead.

Yes she was happy and sad at the same time. "I bought you something." She stood up and walked over to the flowers, she grabbed all four of them same as the vase. Then she walked over the faucet, and put some water in it. After that she walked over the Nagumo's nightstand and placed the vase on the middle of it. "Look what pretty flowers these are, they remind me of you!" She smiled at the flowers with a warm gaze, and put them into the vase. "Just as pretty." She smiled.

"Right here, they make it more colorful in this room." But when she wanted to put the fourth into it, she found out not more then three could fit into the vase. She sighed as she stared at the flower. "Hm, well maybe I can keep this one.." She blushed, slightly at the idea that the scent the flower spread made her remind of Nagumo, and since she was going to put it in her room, he could get a bit closer again. "Un, I'm taking this one with me! You don't mind, right?" She turned her gaze back at the red-head.

She laid her flower on the bedside table and sat down beside Nagumo, she turned around and stared for several minutes at his sore face. Till the heart-rate monitor that until now was heard with a regular heartbeat, hit completely hollow.

Panic hit her, and she spun her head swiftly to the monitor, where high peaks constantly repeated themselves. Her own heart started to beat now faster as well, was this right or not? But when she saw the pain twitching face of Nagumo, she knew something was wrong.

She fled up up and rushed to the other end of the bed where she found a "help" button against the wall, after pressing it she was standing there. Powerless, nothing she could do for him.

With her hands in her hair, panicked and completely discouraged she stood there with tears in her eyes, glancing at him. "Nagumo, you can't leave me alone, please!" More and more tears ran down, and she held herself from crying out loud cry by biting her lower-lip "I can not live without you Nagumo..." she said softly, while the sobbing became more and more.

The only thing that filled the room was the sound of the monitor which raged and Suzuno's sobbing...

She glanced at him, her vision blurred from all her weeping. Still, she could see how his hair glued against his head and was all wet from his sweat. His eyes didn't merely twitch, but now they were press against each other in pain, looking so damn painfully. His teeth clamped together and he was trembling like crazy.

Suddenly, the door burst open and a doctor with two nurses came running inside. They rushed over to the bed and were deep in consultation. Suzuno wanted to know what was going on, she wasn't expecting great news, since all of them looked shocked. But something deep inside her told her not to worry.

"~He's strong, he can do this, he will not leave you alone!~"

"Ma'am? If everything right with him? Please tell me he's alright!" She said as she pulled the clothes of one of the nurses.

She nurse turned around and looked at the tears in her eyes. Her face became aggrieved, but resolute at the same time. "I don't know, if you'll just wait outside, then we can do our job a bit better." She requested her kindly.

Suzuno wanted to stay by his side no matter what, but she knew that if she'd stay in here, that she would only let him down by blocking the doctors path. She softly nodded with her head, and walked outside. Before closing the door, she looked at him one more time. "You can do this Nagumo!" She whispered and then fully closed the door.

Now all she could do was to wait. One after the other docter ran in and out again. It was a madhouse, and Suzuno became more nervous each minute, three hours had now passed, yet it felt like entire days for Suzuno.

Suddenly her phone started to vibrate, she grabbed it from her pocket.

-Hitomiko calling- Stood there on the screen. She pressed the green button and put the phone to her ear. "Hello?" She said quietly, as if she spoke for the first time in her life.

"Suzuno, where are you, did you fall asleep again?" She heard Hitomiko say from the other side of the line. "Kozue and the rest have made a delicious lasagna and they have saved some for you, so are you coming home? It's getting pretty dark."

"Lasagne neh?..." She stammered. "G-Gomen Hitomiko, but can you freeze it for me, I won't be coming home soon.." Her voice was rough and soft from her crying, and it didn't go unnoticed by Hitomiko.

"Are you okay Suzuno? You've cried didn't you, are you still worried about the incident with that girl from your school?"

"N-No, that's not it.. it's-"

"-Is it Nagumo, don't worry, you can see him tomorrow again, you really don't have to be there so much."

"Yeah... tomorrow again." She sighed, as se truly hope those words would came true. "See Hitomiko-"

"Yes?"

"Something happened with... Nagumo."

"W-Wait, what?!" Hitomiko's kind voice now turned very worried. "What happened, is he okay?!"

"I-I... don't know Hitomiko... I can't talk to any of the nurses, neither as the doctor, they're still in his room."

"Still? For how long?"

"T-Three hours..."

"Oh Suzuno you should've called me sooner, I will come right now okay!"

"H-Hai...arigatou."

"I'll see you in a few minutes!"

"Hai." She then hung up the phone, but once she had the phone in her pocket, the door opened. The doctor and two nurses came outside. Suzuno jumped up from the bench and rushed over to them. "A-AND?" She cried out, but she was startled of her own voice, and threw her hands over her mouth in shock. "G-Gomen..." she whispered. "B-But is he all right?" She asked, hope that radiated from her face.

"Why don't you find out yourself." The doctor smiled gently with two friendly looking eyes, pointing to the door.

"I-I can go in?" She asked as fear suddenly tackled her from all sides.

"Hai." He nodded still as friendly, and then walked away. Suzuno turned to the door and placed her hand on the handle. She began to shake and sweat. Her clammy hand slipped slowly off the door handle. One to another scary thought came in, but she shook her head and told herself that everything was okay with him.

She spun the doorknob and slowly opened the door. A strong bright light dazzled her and before she could see anything she heard three words. Three words of a voice she had missed so bad. "Hello little princess!" A faint but thoroughly warm voice said.
