AN: Took me long enough, but here's the next chapter. I hope you'll like it more than I do :D
It took Felicity only a couple of hours to get some results they could work with. The Triad, especially her father, had a lot of dirty secrets and scientific experiments going on and thousands of files on their badly protected servers. The biggest part of the job was sorting through the files and finding the important ones. Of course, in the long run all the files would be important if they'd try to bring the Triad down, but for now she only wanted to find out what was going on with Barry, if it was dangerous and if he could be cured. Of course, that implied that what happened to him was something bad. Anyway, once she had gathered all the evidence she could find, she transferred the data to her tablet and shut down the computers in her office. Then she left the room and started looking for Oliver. Of course he wasn't in his bedroom, the kitchen, his office or the dining room.
The only other room he could possibly be was the gym. The gym was her favorite room of the house, Felicity decided when she entered the room and found her husband hanging on his beloved salmon ladder and doing some pull ups. Only this time he wasn't wearing a shirt and she couldn't help herself but follow every drop of sweat that ran down his delicious abs. And boy did that man look awesome. All she wanted to do was take a few steps forward and lick the sweat off his body. Okay, this was getting creepy and gross. He might be her husband but that didn't mean that she was allowed to fantasize about eating him alive.
Only when he cleared this throat did the blonde notice that she'd been staring for way too long.
"I know that I look good and everything, but could you stop looking at me like I'm pray and you're a lioness about to jump me? That is very distracting." He mumbled and dropped to the ground, landing in a perfect crouch of course. How else would he land? Being perfect and all…
"I'm not perfect, Felicity."
"Did I say that out loud? I didn't mean to, I swear! I just….brain to mouth filter isn't really my thing. And you know that because you've heard me babble before. Okay…back to the point. Information, yes! That's what you wanted me to do….not stare at your gorgeous body. Though I wouldn't mind doing that for a few minutes."
"Stare all you want, it's yours."
He grinned devilishly and pulled her into his sweaty chest. Felicity gasped and put her hands against his chest to stop her movement, but that only distracted her even more. She could feel every little muscle under her hands, skin sticking to skin. Before she could think about it, she'd leaned forward and kissed him gently on the Bratva tattoo that was directly over his heart. Oliver sucked in air and pushed her away again, but not before she could feel his hardening length against her stomach.
"Okay…how about I take a quick shower and we talk afterwards? I should probably….take a very cold shower. And put on some more comfortable pants. Meet me in my office in thirty minutes?"
She grinned and gave him a quick kiss on the jaw.
"Whatever you say, Mr. Queen. But don't make me wait."
His eyes darkened for a second, but then he nodded and left the room. The IT girl couldn't keep the smile off her face. Apparently Oliver had decided that the whole pushing her away phase was over and she really was his wife now. Maybe it had been her little pep talk earlier, maybe he had come to his senses while training and taking care of his yummy body. No, Felicity. Don't go there! Don't think about his body and his muscles and…him. He's a distraction and right now you need to focus on Barry!
Lazily she dropped down in Oliver's chair and put her feet on his desk. Thirty minutes were a rather long time and the only way one could possibly survive that long without dying of boredom was to play candy crush.
OFOFOFOFOFOFOFOFOFOFOFOFOFOFOFOFOFOFOFOFOFOFOFOFOFOFOFOFOFOFOFOFOFOFOF
Felicity would kill him one day. Every time they talked she only made his blood boil a little more. That woman was doing things to his mind that should be illegal and it surprised him every day. Shouldn't he be used to it by now? Apparently not. This was a dream, he was sure of it. There was no way, no reality in which he could get a girl like Felicity to like him. That would be….too amazing to be true! With a gentle smile on his face he opened the top drawer of his desk and pulled the picture of him and Felicity on their wedding day out. It was taken just seconds before he had kissed her for the first time. Apparently Thea had ordered the photographer to pay special attention to the two of them and get at least one good shot of them being totally in love with each other. But were they? In love? She'd married him to save her mother and herself, not because she couldn't help but falling for him. He was the selfish bastard that had forced her to give up her life. That wasn't very nice of him. The constant doubt that he'd felt these last few weeks only got heavier when he remembered the look on her face when he'd thrown the glass at her. He hadn't thrown it AT her, of course, but in her direction. His aim was perfect and if he'd wanted to hit her, he would have.
"Not that your broody thinking face isn't hot and everything, but you will get wrinkles if you keep frowning all the time." Someone whispered from the doorway.
His head shot up and he saw his wife leaning against the doorframe and grinning at him.
"People might think that you are old!"
He chuckled, put the picture back in the drawer and got up. Before Felicity could tell him what she'd found, he pulled her into his chest and gave her a quick and sweet kiss.
"I've missed you." He whispered and was really pleased when he felt her shudder.
"I've only been gone for a few hours, you goof. There's no way you'd miss me." She answered jokingly, but he could see the doubt in her eyes.
"I will always miss you if you're not right next to me. And thank you for giving me more than just the thirty minutes we'd agreed upon. I needed the time."
"I can see that. Otherwise you wouldn't be in your office but in the shower waiting for me. Not that you'd want to take a shower with me! That would be gross. Well, it probably wouldn't because you're….you and…hot, but I'm not exactly….hot. Oh god, why don't you stop me!"
He chuckled and gave her another kiss.
"Showering without you is pretty boring, so we should try that." Her eyes darkened. "But right now we should talk about what you've found. Judging from the look you gave me earlier, I'd say its not good news?"
"I guess you could say that. But it could be worse! Don't worry, everything's going to be fine. Well, not exactly fine, but we'll be okay. And that's what matters most, isn't it? Okay, I'll stop talking in a second. Anyway….Barry. He's going to be fine. Whatever they gave him, it doesn't seem to have any negative impact on his health. He was injected with a prototype. The Triad has spent some crazy money on biochemical engineering in the last couple of years, and apparently they're trying to create super serums. These serums are supposed to enhance one random thing about the person. Barry got super speed, another test subject super strength and a third one super sight. And yes, I used these examples to make it sound cool. The other test subjects…disappeared before they could be thoroughly studied. Not even the Triad knows what happened to them and I couldn't find any trace of them. My…my father oversaw the project and made sure that nobody leaked the secrets. But he did put the things on a computer. Big mistake if you have a daughter that's a classified genius and hates your guts."
Oliver chuckled again. Why was he chuckling all the time? That wasn't him!
"The files are enough to make sure that every member of the Triad is arrested and put away for life. If you want to, we can hand it over to the police and forget everything about it."
"No. Unless you don't want to go through with the plan. I'd understand it, you know? He's still your father."
"He stopped being my father many years ago. We should just end him."
"That's my girl." Oliver whispered and gave her another quick kiss.
"For now I have to go and prepare my men. I trust you will put together all the information we need to take the Dragon down tomorrow. It must happen now, or things will only get worse."
"I know. They'll just kidnap other people and hurt them."
For a moment they didn't say anything and simply looked at each other, trying to figure out what the other one was thinking. They hadn't known each other long enough for them to be able to read each other's thoughts, but they were getting there. Finally Felicity broke eye contact and looked down at her hands.
"Oliver, I know that I said that I'm okay with you killing my father, but….maybe I'm not. I know it's stupid and…"
Oliver stopped her with a gentle hand to the cheek.
"Hey. Don't go there. No matter what he's done to you or your friends, he's still your father. And I would be worried if you wouldn't feel anything at all about what's going to happen. Do you want me to bring him here so that you'll have some closure? Do you want to talk to him before everything's over? Say the word and I'll bring him here. I give you my word."
She smiled at him and gently nodded.
"If you could do that, I'd be really happy. I just want to know why he left my mom and why he really wanted to have me killed. It….I want to know if it really was because I found out about your s….your secret."
"Okay. And when we get back from the Triad, we'll talk about that whole secret thing. I know you want to talk about it."
"Thank you." She simply said and gave him another kiss.
AN: That's that…Anybody guessed the secret yet? No? I'll probably reveal it in the next chapter or so. Oh, before I forget: I hope you enjoyed the chapter :D
