Chapter 8

Hikari has found a new job as a local Kanagawa newspaper journalist. In doing so she will give leads to the Shido Agency, as well to visit Shido and everyone back at the police station. But of course she can't go there everyday or other wish someone would find out and she would get fired. She missed spending the whole day with her friends.

She decides to make it up to Shido for not helping him out with the Nightbreeds like she promised. "Maybe a gift of some sort will work." It was also going to be a gift to show him that he's been such a good friend to her. And she didn't want Riho to know about her and Shido because she knew that she had a crush on Shio and she would be sad to find out that her 'big sister' and her crush was seeing each other. Riho won't admit that she has a crush on him but she knew that she did.

Later on in the day, Hikari goes into a convenience store and finds a plastic necklace with a ember colored gemstone of sorts, which was fake as well. The gem instantly makes her think of an angel. "Maybe if I get this for him, he'll always be protected. If I put my soul into it, it won't fail." After purchasing it, she wraps it in a tiny box and leaves a little note attached to it.

She makes her way to drop it off. But when she knocks on the door there wasn't any answer. Shido wasn't there. Instead she left it on his desk. She hurried because she was going to be late for the Kangawa Newspaper.

Shido comes back to find a tiny wrapped box on his desk. "Hm?" He scratched his head in confusion. "Where did this come from?" There wasn't anything when he left to go pick up a can of coffee.

Guni flew to it. "Wonder who left it is the question." she said.

He picked up the note and it read:

I might have info you want to know. Meet me at my apartment.

Hikari

P.S. Hope you like your present. It'll protect you when I'm not around.

He opened the box and saw an ember colored gem on a chain. He thought about Hikari when he saw the color that reminded him of her eyes. He couldn't help but to smile. Plastic or not it's the thought that counts.

Hikari is at home, sitting and watching the nightly television shows and movies. She hears a knock on the door and goes to answer it. Opening the door she saw Shido standing there. Her words caught in her throat in surprise. She cleared her throat to try and get out her words. "Ah, Shido. I didn't think you'd come."

He walks in and follows Hikari, dressed in her favorite black sweat shirt and maroon skirt, to sit on the living room couch. The T.V. shows some sort of movie but they ignored it. Shido waits for whatever information Hikari had to share with her. "So..." he starts off.

She then says to him in a bit of a serious tone,"I think I saw Cain somewhere today. Be expecting something. Who knows what else he's going to try." Earlier she felt something but didn't know what it could've been, until she saw Cain from the corner of her eye.

He gave a nod. "Thanks for the heads up." She crossed her leg over her knee and then fidgited her fingers. There was something she wanted to say. "Hikari? What is it?"

She took a deep breath and sighed. "Do you think you can stay here a little longer?" She paused. "I don't get no visitors besides my parents." she explains.

"Sure."

A new movie was coming on and he sat down beside her to watch. It was a romantic comedy, something that Hikari enjoyed. It was past 11 o'clock and Hikari had laid her head on his shoulder. An hour into the movie and the sensual parts made Hikari and Shido have some certain thoughts. The main characters reminded them of themselves. They made eye contact. She couldn't help the blush that comes up her neck and her cheeks.

Shido couldn't help the feeling of wanting her. It was the same feeling as that rainy day. He asks her a question. "So, what do you think I am, an angel or a demon?"

She smiles and answers with any second thoughts. "An angel." She is still smiling softly, her smile reaching her eyes. The liquid browns seem to melt and Shido was lost for a moment in them. He closes the space between them. He gives her a kiss. It was saying something but she couldn't exactly figure out what it was. She wants it to last longer.

One night like this can't be wrong, can it?

Her mind starts to become fuzzy and only concentrating on getting her satisfaction that the kiss shad stirred inside her. Her hands spanned on his chest and wanted to see what was underneath all that clothing. "Shido..."

There was that melting voice again. His lips went to the point on her neck where blood pumped so sweetly. He could hear it rushing in his ears, and he could feel it. 'No! I won't hurt another human being!' she said to himself. He trys to ignore the desire for her blood.

Hikari's pleasure seeking brain told her hands to undo his vest, tie, and his white shirt. All of it fell off his shoulders. His bare, pale chest was exposed to her view. She slid her right side of her shirt off her shoulder, exposing her neck to him. She bought her lips to his and starts kissing him, more passionately. She could feel his desperation in the way that he kisses. "Bite me, Shido. Please... Shido." Not only did she want to help him but she wanted to end her desperation, too.

He pulls her against him. He asks,"Are you sure?"

"Yes~" She has longed for this for a long time. The music on the T.V. Was slow and jazzy, seductive enough. Shido lowers his face to her neck, to her frantic beating pulse. His fangs swiftly breaks her skin and starts drinking the blood that pours out in tiny streams. Her blood tastes... different than any other human. Maybe he was drinking angel blood?

Hikari whimpered and moaned in pleasure. She was getting her release. Meanwhile inside her something was happening. Her Angel Soul was transforming, changing into a Fallen Angel soul. "Shido...ah~~" The pain that was there quickly turned into pleasure. Or maybe she was a masochist, she didn't know. Whatever, this felt so good.

After, Shido got his fill and starts dressing. "Are you alright?" He didn't feel any change to her so maybe she didn't turn into a vampire after all. Maybe all that worrying was for nothing.

"Yeah. I don't feel different."

"You don't look different, either."

On the couch Hikari lays there, still in her daze. She was catching her breath from the most unbelievable, and first, orgasm. She had some strength to stand up and help Shido with his tie and shirt collar. He asks her before leaving," Why did you want to become a part of the night?"

She says,"Because when I first fell in love with you, met you for the first time, I had already a fallen angel soul by looking in your eyes".

He put on his coat and told her good night. They exchanged their good byes and good nights. She closes the door as Shido walks down the steps. Her hands cover over her heart. She relived the evening and got ready to go to bed.

Shido fells something as he is walking the streets. Was it a breed or something else? With extreme caution he quickly patrols the roads and streets. The presense he felt is now gone. He had a hunch who it was.

For a short time Cain has been observing Shido's and Hikari's connection. Maybe he could use this Hikari, his angel, against Shido. He chuckles and disappears in the darkness of the night and waits for an opportunity to take his chance.

THE END?
