Why am I updating at 1:43 in the mornin, well lets see I started writing this on the 4th...but Captain America distracted me!
Steve: Yes I distracted her
Tony: You did, with your perfect teeth.
Guys! Really you are still arguing, aren't we a little past that?
Tony: Are you over the fact, that you do not own any one of us or anything to do with our franchise. Because, well if your not then that is just said..Ms. Author person.
Hey :( I own this story and Riley!
Natasha: Children? Can we get to the story?
Yes, please everyone enjoy the chapter...oh and thanks for all the reviews!
Waking with a start, my alarm ringing loudly through the room. Opening the grey pools that were my eyes, before taking an intake of breath. Looking around to see, not the Stark tower; but my room. My heart sank, was it truly all a dream. Looking down at my arms, to see the familiar bruises and feeling the pain. A clenching in my chest, as hot wet tears began to roll down my cheeks. Hand going through my hair, blue locks falling into my face. Wait, blue.
Standing quickly, and running to my mirror. My eyes widening at what I saw, whoever this girl was. She was not me. Her hair was blue, and her eyes were a bright green with little flecks of blue. Her face structure, and skin color were mine. However, this woman in the mirror was a stranger to me.
'What is wrong?'
Looking around with shock, as I heard the familiar voice. The one from my head, glancing back at the stranger's face; finding an evil smirk.
'What is wrong?'
Her lips moved as she asked again, my heart beginning a beat faster. "Who are you?" Managing to squeak out.
'You don't recognize me, I am your friend.'
Shaking my head, furiously. "No, I don't know who you are!" Trying to sound stronger then I actually felt. In front of this doppelganger, who was completely wrong. She was not my friend, she looked like my worst enemy.
'That is harsh, as I have always been there for you. Just thought I should remind you, I am here.'
Her lips curled into a wicked grin, as she began to step out of the mirror. "Stay away from me."
'Why are you afraid of me, I have never hurt you.'
"That is a lie, you have always been hurting me." I replied, finally realizing this was the shape of the voice. The one I have been fighting with, what was she..my alter ego or something.
'I see, you're conflicted...I will speak to you another night.'
She whispered, before she pushed me through a black void. I couldn't scream, as I felt myself falling once again. My breath catching, as I fought to gather air.
Shooting up quickly, my face drenched in sweat as the room felt how. Falling back slightly, my pillow wet feeling disgusting. My stomach clenched, but I could not get up; even with the vile stench of sweat around me. I could not move, traumatized as I was. Slowly looking over to see the clock read thirty minutes past midnight.
The chains to the bed, fell as I slowly made myself stand up. No way I could go back to sleep, but I could do with a book. Taking the silk black night robe, that Natasha had made me buy to go over my green satin nightgown that fell to my ankles. As I walked out the door, taking my hair out of the braid from three hours ago. It was strange seeing the halls completely dark, slight snores coming from many of the rooms. Mainly Thor's, which was right next to Captains.
I couldn't help but chuckle, before I turned to see a light coming from the door next to mine. Loki was awake, at this time of night? Probably wasn't a good idea, but I could not stop myself from knocking on the door. A shuffling could be heard, as he slowly opened the door.
"Riley? What are you doing up?" He asked, about to answer when I took in the account he was shirtless. Confusion entered his eye, before realizing and a shirt simmered into place. "I apologize, not expecting a young lady to knock on my door."
With how hot my cheeks felt, I could only guess the shade of red they appeared. "You don't need to apologize, I just saw your light on...I shouldn't of disturbed you I am sorry." Going to turn and walk away, only to feel his cold hand grab hold of my very hot arm.
"You are burning up? Are you ill?" He asked pulling me back to him.
Shaking my head slightly. "No, I-I just had a nightmare and just not comfortable going back to sleep."
He seemed to understand as he nodded, before he stepped aside for a moment. "I have a few books, if you would like to read with me." A smile felt foreign at this time, but it appeared. Walking into his room, that I swore every time I saw it...it was definitely fit for a king.
"Thank you." I replied, as he led me to a chair and offered me a book. A giggle escaped when I saw it was Romeo and Juliet. "I was not expecting you to have the tragic love story."
He smirked. "I don't think there is a story by Shakespeare, I have not read." He seemed like a kid in a candy store, when it came to classic literature. Turning to my book, before I began to read.
Not knowing how long I sat there, before my eyes began to droop. I vaguely felt my breath evening out, and saw Loki move towards me; as darkness took me.
I woke about five hours later, as harsh knocking could be heard from the door. Looking around to see I had not been moved from the chair, a blanket though had been given to me. Turning to see Loki was awake and dressed, while he glared at the door.
"Brother!" Thor exclaimed, as he finally barged into the room. "Lady Jacobs is not in her room, have you see-" He paused, as he finally caught sight of me bundled up in the chair. "Lady Jacobs."
Rolling my eyes at his formalities. "What is it?" I asked, as I pushed the blanket away. Thor gasping probably at the black robe.
"Brother! She is to young!" He shouted, causing everyone to walk into the room.
Loki glaring at them all. "I did not bed her brother."
"He speaks the truth, I fell asleep while reading in the chair." Everyone seemed to study me, before looking back at Loki. He was agitated, as he picked slightly at his left hand.
Tony seemed to see my glance to the man. "Well you two, seem closer at least."
The Hawk took a glance at me, before turning back to my friend. "Look, Reindeer she is to young."
"We did not sleep together!" I finally yelled. "I had,a nightmare and he let me read with him. It was not my intention to fall asleep in the chair, and he simply placed a blanket over me."
Steve being the reserved person that he was seemed to understand. "Quite obvious nothing happened, besides if they were together I think we would have heard something."
"What are you and Loki?" Natasha asked, ignoring the glare that was sent to her by him.
Turning, before locking eyes with my mischievous friend...after all that was what we were. "Friends."
One quick look back to everyone else, to see shock raining through the rest. Everyone wide eyed, and staring at me. Thor being the only one that had a smile on his face, probably happy that someone was giving his brother a chance. Clint's eyes narrowing, as I got up and walked over to Loki. Though his armor was cold, I still embraced the man as he needed it. The leather smelt nice and fresh, with a bit of mint on the flesh of his neck.
"Well, nice to see you two are getting along." Tony finally exclaimed, letting go of Loki to look at him. I knew a but was coming, I just knew it. "But." Ah there it was. "I am hungry, as is everyone. Can ya peel yourself away from your new bff to make breakfast?"
Laughter filled the room, as I nodded. "I think that could be arranged." Everyone hesitantly started to leave the room, before I turned back to Loki.
He was fixated on me, his brows furrowed in confusion and shock. "You embraced me?"
"Apologise if it made you uncomfortable." My response came out quickly, as a volcano seemed to erupt on my cheeks. Peeking into the mirror to see how red they had turned, sure enough I looked like a tomato.
His cold fingers touched my cheek. "Nothing you have to apologize for, but I will say it surprised me more that you openly called me your friend."
"Loki, as long as you let me." My voice unwavered as I spoke. "I will always be your friend, you won't have to look far for someone to be there to help you when you need."
His eyes widened, knowing full well he was searching for the lie. However, he would not find one. Blue-green eyes softening, as a genuine smile formed on his face.

After I had dressed, in a black tank and with purple yoga pants. I headed to the kitchen, where everyone was waiting. Loki, walking right behind me. He looked extremely uncomfortable with his t-shirt and black basketball shorts.
"Loki, are you alright?" I whispered, and he nodded hesitantly. One thing I've noticed if he is quiet, then he was not feeling it. When he was confident, he talked a lot. Then there was when he was comfortable, and he would talk but he was soft spoken and at ease.
Offering my hand gently, just in case. He could choose, which I figured he wouldn't want to. However when cold fingers laced with mine, causing me to look over at him; surprised at his actions.
"Alright, you both are holding hands." Clint's voice broke my thoughts.
Loki rolled his eyes, as I turned to look at the rest of the Avengers. They all looking at out hands, which the lovely Mischief God quickly dropped his. Sighing, as my feet carried me to the refrigerator, grabbing the ingredients to prepare breakfast.
"What are ya making, Igglypuff?" Tony asked.
"Blueberry muffins."
Briefly, I saw him lean over to Loki. "You know, Reindeer." He started, as he glanced at me. "If you two, do get together. You might get fat with all the good food she prepares."
"Stark!" Steve yelled. "Enough of that, you aren't just making Loki uncomfortable but Riley, and everyone else as well."
Thor nodding in the background. "Also if they are together, as long as the relationship remains emotional rather then physical-"
"Shut your mouth brother! Riley and I are friends! No more no less!" Loki hissed through his teeth, you could hear his heavy and aggravated breathing. Wow, I really was just friend zoned….well damn.
Tony smirk only grew, as he stared with wide crazed brown eyes. "You know, you answered way to quickly." He said with a grin. "Oh and Reinglypuff." Foot meet mouth, as Tony Stark is digging his own grave if he does not shut his mouth.
"I think you better be careful, Igglypuff may kick your ass one day." Natasha said with a smirk.
Placing the muffin pan into the oven, trying to ignore everything and one; especially Stark. "Fifteen minutes, and the muffins will be done."
"Ah! Come on, are you ignoring my team name for you guys." Tony asked.
"Completely." Taking a quick peak to Loki, who had moved towards the window. He with a book in hand, but with how clenched his jaw and hands are. Oh he was annoyed, and he was not going to stay quiet for long. Quickly in order to salvage an argument, made my way to my partner. His eyes flicking to mine briefly. "Ignore him." I whispered, and with an eye roll he looked back to his book.
A silence fell upon us, for a while. That was until the timer went off. "Finally!" Clint yelled, as he ran to grab a muffin. "Ah-h-hot!" He mumbled with a mouth full.
"What the hell did you expect?" I asked, gaining looks.
"Language."
Looking over at Tony with a smirk. "You would love my old high school mates, they made you look like a saint."
"Oh due tell?" He exclaimed. "I love making myself look better."
I could feel the smile form, as everyone began to fix their plates. "That is a tale for another time." Making sure to take Loki had his plate, before getting my own.
"So?" Clint finally asked. "How will the slave driver move Reindeer Games and Igglypuff on the first day."
Turning to look at Steve, eyes going wide. Remembering the most important thing about my world, gym class was not my favorite. Well Damn.
Tony: Reinglypuff! Ah such fond memories.
Steve: Is that really necessary?
Tony: uh yeah.
You know you both argue like an old married couple. Oh and Happy belated birthday to Captain America...you are how old now?
Tony: He is a 100 year old virgin.
Steve: At least I have resp-
