Here we go chapter 9. To be honest I didn't really enjoy writing the last chapter. I think this one will be a lot more fun.
CORNERIA
CDF BRIEFING ROOM
"We have located the big boss and Fara Pheonix. They will be docking at Katina in 20 minutes we need to intercept this fleet before they arrive. Fara is on the big boss's flagship you cannot destroy it until she is safely off the ship. You will have to board the ship. This is your final mission. Dismissed!" Everyone raced to their ships Falco joined Fox on the Great Fox. Everyone took off from the planet towards Katina.
"This is it, Falco. I think I'm going to retire after this, find myself a real home."
"Nice to see you're looking at a resolve Fox."
"Yea..."
"Hey, Fox I have something to say..."
"What is it Keira?"
"Fox I... I really like you and I know you feel the same way, but... I know that there is someone out there that would love you so much more. And that you would love so much more and I don't want to get in the way of that."
"What? Keira what are you saying?"
"You'll see very soon Fox." Keira ended the communication there.
"Noooo!" Fox punched the wall hard. He was losing someone close to him again. First his mom, then his dad, his team, and Krystal. "Calm down I have to focus on the mission." It seemed he was doomed eternally to lose everyone close to him.
"Fox we have them on radar we are approaching them quickly we need to get to our arwings," Falco commanded Keira had really chosen a bad time to break the news and Falco didn't like it, but he definitely didn't have time to complain they had a mission to do. Fox ran to the Great Fox's docking bay and hopped into his arwing. He ejected his ship into the vast expanse of space. Falco and Fox were greeted with a hail of laser fire.
"Everyone go for the turrets on the dreadnoughts so we can get close to the flagship!" Bill yelled over the comms. Fox got close to one of the dreadnoughts and took out the main turret.
"Fox you need to lead the soldiers boarding the flagship. You have a lot more experience than these soldiers." Peppy ordered.
"Ok Peppy but first we need to clear a path to the flagship." Fox U-turned to get back to the dreadnought. He shot the minor turrets on the side quickly putting them out of commission.
"Fox get this guy off me!" Falco requested.
Fox got behind the grunt tailing his friend and fired a charged shot. "Thanks, Fox." Fox came upon another dreadnought.
"Careful Fox that one fires missiles," Bill warned, but Fox had no problems, easily taking the dreadnought out of the battle.
"Commander we aren't getting anywhere we need reinforcements."
"Just keep trying to get through we'll figure out something." Fox had managed to pick up a few angry pilots who didn't want him there. He hit the brakes on his arwing. They flew past him, he managed to take two down but not the third. Falco came from above and finished off the third pilot.
"Thanks, Falco."
"No problem Fox."
"Hey I brought some help with me I thought you might need it," Wolf reported over the comms.
"Thanks, Wolf we need all the help we can get." Fox was grateful that Wolf had brought backup now they might finally get somewhere. Fox flew alongside Peppy's flagship. The enemy ships were surrounding it.
"Fox take out these guys will ya."
"That can be arranged Peppy." Fox fired a charged shot as a ship passed by, it exploded into hundreds of small fragments instantly.
"Need some help, Fox?" Wolf came to support Fox he fired his Wolfen's lasers at two ships destroying them. Fox fired at three more ships destroying them in order from left to right. "Quite a show eh, Fox.
"Fox we broke through! Go quickly you might not have much time!" Bill ordered. Fox raced through the enemy ships it was time to board
the flagship. Fox raced inside the big boss's flagship three more CDF ships, Falco, and Wolf following close behind. They were greeted by a lot of gunfire. Fox jumped out of his arwing and into cover. The fire continued coming Fox's direction even though none of himself was exposed.
"Well, that just goes to show how smart they are." One of the CDF soldiers ducked and ran over to Fox joining him behind the cover.
"Damn they just don't stop firing." He said to Fox.
"Tell me about it." Fox noticed it was the Thomas kid from the mission on Fichina. Apparently, he was really good with grenades.
Fox handed him a grenade. "Take this I heard you're really good with grenades." Thomas smiled and threw the grenade at the ruffians. It landed dead center in the middle of six of them. They all died instantly when the grenade exploded. "Damn how are you so good at that?"
"Used to when I got bored I would try to throw rocks at a tree stump. I got really good at it I think that's where these grenade throwing skills came from."
"Wow, I might need to start throwing rocks now." Fox chuckled Thomas laughed with him. The two moved up with the rest of the group.
"Alright here's the plan we need to find Fara first after she is safe we find the big boss and kill her. We can't have some lunatic like her going around Lylat kidnapping people." Wolf concluded he motioned for everyone to follow him through the door into the hallway. Wolf opened the door to the hallway, inside the big boss stood with a knife to Fara's throat. "That's the big boss Fox!"
"My men have you surrounded surrender now or Fara dies." She commanded. Everyone dropped their weapons there was nothing they could do now they didn't expect this to happen.
"Shit." Fox cursed. They had come all this way just to fail the final mission. The big boss, Zara, let go of Fara and pushed her to the floor.
"Take them to the holding ce..." Zara dropped lifelessly to the ground.
"The shit what's going on?" Falco yelled. The ruffians looked around for the animal that had killed their boss.
"Your boss is dead surrender now or prepare to fight." (Looool) Fox looked over his shoulder the vixen who had escaped the jail stood gun raised to the ruffian's backs. They too laid down their weapons. Four gunshots rang through the hallway. The ruffians dropped dead she had killed them anyway.
"Why are you helping us?" Fox said confused. Last he knew she was on the enemies side. Everyone looked confused except Wolf for some reason.
"Because I can." She left the six men. She was headed toward the docking bay. Fox looked over to Wolf he was smiling.
"What's up with you?" Fox asked.
"Nothing Fox it's nothing," Wolf replied. Fox was hugged very tightly from behind it was Fara.
"Thank you so much." She sobbed, it looked like she hadn't eaten properly in weeks.
"Follow us, Fara, you're going to be ok," Wolf consoled.
GREAT FOX
(You should listen to I want to know what love is during this next part.)
Krystal docked in the Great Fox. Wolf had told her to go there once the mission was over.
"Krystal you and Fox need to fix things. This is your chance don't screw it up." Wolf finished. "Make it count." Wolf ended his communications with Krystal.
Fox returned to the Great Fox, Wolf had taken Fara to the general's flagship. His arwing locked onto the ground. He stepped outside his arwing, but there was another ship docked on the other side of the docking bay. Fox drew his rifle and walked to the mysterious ship. He noticed a very faint outline of something a tint of red and... It was the Star Fox logo it had been long since done over but the outline was still there. The realization hit Fox hard so hard that he stumbled backwards a bit before sprinting out of the docking bay. He ran straight into Krystal's old room. The blue vixen was sitting on the bed. He jumped straight on to her locking Krystal into a warm embrace.
"I missed you so much!" He wailed, he wasn't going to let go of her. Krystal had never stopped loving Fox. Her feelings had been clouded by all the hate and anger she had at the world.
"I'm sorry Fox."
"No no no it was all my fault I chased you off and it was such a terrible mistake. Krystal, please forgive me." Fox was crying, the great Fox Mccloud had been reduced to tears. Krystal leaned close to his muzzle and locked him into a long passionate kiss. Now Fox knew what Keira was talking about, Krystal was the one he loved so much more. The one he would Always love so much more. After what seemed like forever Krystal finally broke the kiss.
"Fox, of course, I forgive you." It felt like so long ago that she had felt this way. That she had felt love. Not so long ago she wouldn't have said anything like that, but something about what Wolf said flicked a switch inside her head. She could remember when he chased her off. It haunted her dreams, like a leech it wouldn't stop. Maybe now that things were getting better the nightmares would stop.
"I love you, Krystal..." He whispered.
"I love you too Fox."
End of chapter 9

Finally, I have this chapter done I stalled on this chapter for so long. The next three chapters will be more of an epilogue for Fox, Keira, and Wolf. These will all be released at the same time so I might take a while to get these done. Anyway, hope you enjoyed and have a good night/day.
