BPOV

The Evening of the Second Nightmare Day.

With Jasper, things were a little easier. He let us know we were going to need keys for the tunnel door, that led to the parking lot, where the ambulances parked to pick up injured players and get them out of the stadium. God, we are so stupid, I thought! How had we not thought of that? Which made me remember that I didn't have my apartment key on me. But, the street door didn't lock properly and Jasper assured me he would be able to force open the door to my apartment. He also told us that after his adventure with Alice two weeks ago, Coach Romero installed a barbed-wire fence where the cart was parked, so we were going to need keys for that too. After Jasper grabbed them from the same drawer where I found the others, he told us what we were going to do.

"We need to head to the locker room. There is a door there that goes directly to the field and the golf cart. After we take it, we are going to have to cross the field to the tunnel where the infirmary and visitors' locker room is located. We will need to check if someone, or something, is on the field before we make a move. Then we can take the rest from there."

Alice and I agreed and immediately we began our trip to the locker room.

Jasper knew his way around the stadium so he took us on the shorter route. I had my bat and Alice gave hers to Jasper, after taking a golf club from Coach Romero's closet. It wasn't much, but it was something.

The hard part started out in the hallway. There were at least five zombies waiting for us. It was so hard getting away that Alice was almost bitten by one. That fucking golf club she took got stuck in the head of one of them on the first blow. She killed that thing instantly, but when she tried to remove the club, she couldn't. Jasper and I were busy with the others when we heard her scream. Another fucking zombie had come out of nowhere and was on the floor, tugging at her leg, snapping his teeth while trying to bite her. Jasper aimed a swing at the head of the one he was busy with and was beside Alice before it could hit the floor, the side of it's head caved in. He pushed Alice behind his back and struck her zombie so hard, his baseball bat snapped in half. I had just finished taking care of the last one when Jasper wrenched the golf club out of the zombie it had been stuck in, took Alice's hand in his, and ordered us to run like hell. When we finally made it in to the room Jasper locked us in. I took Alice and guided her to a bench beside the door, leaving my bat on the floor.

"Are you okay? Are you alright? He didn't bite you, right Alice? Please, tell me he didn't?"

I hugged her tight when she didn't answer me and then Jasper came, pushed me aside, and took my place. He cupped her face with his hands, looking so worried.

"Please, please baby, tell me he didn't bite you. Please. Answer me, dammit!"

Alice was in shock, just staring at him and then, he slapped her. She started to cry immediately and tried to tell us something, but she was a blubbering mess and we didn't understand a word of what she was saying.

"I… I don't… He…"

I had to finish seeing if she was alright, so I knelt beside them, lifted the hem of her jeans on each leg, and checked for bite marks.

After being satisfied with my inspection I slumped on the floor.

"She's okay, Jasper. She doesn't have any marks."

"Thank God!" Jasper exclaimed, happily hugging Alice tight. Then he looked her in the eyes. "I'm going to find some water and food." Standing up, Jasper released Alice's face, but before he could take a step, I reached for his hand, stopping him. He looked down to me.

"Take my bat; we haven't checked the place yet."

He stiffened and nodded at me. "You're right. Thanks Bella."

Grabbing my bat from the floor, Jasper went to check the locker room, while Alice laid down on the bench, closed her eyes and started to talk.

"I'm sorry Bella, it's just… I was so frightened," she said almost in a whisper. I sighed and then crawled on the floor to approach her. Taking her hand into mine, I squeeze it gently and she slowly opened her eyes in response. Alice flashed me a brief smile before allowing them to slide closed again.

When Jasper returned he had bottles of water and some energy bars with him. He was happy because the locker room was zombie free. While we ate we decided to make some plans.

"Come on girls, we need to go after we eat. It's getting late and I would prefer if we were not wandering around in the dark."

I looked to Jasper and shook my head, but Alice was the one who spoke.

"No, Jasper. We need to rest and find something to defend ourselves with. Like you said, it's getting late. I would prefer if we stayed here for the night and tomorrow morning we can go to Bella's."

Jasper was starting to protest when we heard noises coming from the door to the football field. He made a sign with his finger telling us to stay quiet and took the bat from the floor. I stood up and took the golf club that was lying besides one of the benches. We walked slowly to the door, trying not to make a noise. When we were in front of it, we saw that someone, or something, was trying to open it-twisting the knob frantically. We were frozen, just standing by the door waiting, and seconds later we heard a, "shit," coming from outside. In that moment Jasper unlocked the door and swung it open.

Outside was a guy in sweatpants from the university. Jasper hurried him inside and then locked the door again.

"Jazz, my man! Thank God you are here," the guy exclaimed at the same time he pulled Jasper into a hug.

"Garrett? My God it's so good to see you. Have you been here since yesterday too?" Jasper was almost speechless.

Garrett let go of Jasper and smiled, nodding. "Yes, I came to run on the track. It was around eight in the morning and I was warming up when the first ones came from the bleachers. They attacked Shaun and Ed, the guys who came from England on the student exchange program." Jasper nodded in recognition. "Anyway, they were sitting admiring the cheerleaders when those things jumped on them. After that, everybody went running towards the exit in a panic. I was going to go too but it was so crowded and because I was standing close to the infirmary, I decided to hide in there instead. A little while ago I started to explore the place to see who was around. That's why I'm here. I found more of those things on the field."

While Garret was talking, we made our way back to where Alice was sitting and waiting for us, an expectant look on her face.

"This is Bella," Jasper said, gesturing to me. "And this is Alice," he finished as he sat down beside her.

"All of this has being crazy, Jazz. What are you guys going to do to get out of here? Where are you going to go? Because I want to go to our dorm room, but with all those walking corpses around, it's impossible."

"Well, Garrett, I think it's not such a good idea to go to the dorms. I was there yesterday and it was really bad," Alice said. "We are taking the golf cart back to Bella's place. If you like, you can come with us."

Garrett nodded, smiling. "That would be great guys, thanks."

After Jasper gave Garrett something to eat and drink we finished making plans and decided to try and get some sleep.

It was seven in the morning when we woke up and started to put our plans into motion.

First, Jasper and Garrett checked the towel closet, and to our luck they found a backpack with some tools in it. We only took a hammer and a pipe wrench, but they were going to be very helpful to kill the zombies and bust open all the lockers to check for more supplies. When we did, we took only the necessities like food and water, and put them in the backpack. It wasn't much, but it was something. Jasper took the golf club, Garrett the pipe wrench and the backpack, I took the bat and Alice kept the hammer. Last were the keys. Jasper gave me the ones to open the wired fence and he kept the other's safe.

When we had all we needed, we decided it was finally time to leave.

Jasper opened the door to the field to check around. Alice, Garrett and I were behind him waiting for instructions. After some time he closed the door and spoke quietly.

"There are some of them in the field. We are going to need to be very quiet; remember to wait for our sign, girls, because we only have one chance."

We all nodded and got ready to move.

Alice and I went to open the fence while Jasper and Garrett headed to the tunnel door. It was easy to open, but the dangerous part was that at any moment the zombies could see us. While Alice was at the fence gate waiting for the sign from the boys, I checked the cart quickly. It was like a mini pick-up truck with two seats in the front and a large board in the back. I sat behind the wheel, took out the key from my jean pocket, put it in the ignition, and waited.

The more time passed, the more anxious I grew. Waiting was nerve wracking, but then, it happened…

Alice ran towards the cart while I started it. She jumped in beside me and I hit the gas pedal.

I could see those things closing in on us,trying to reach the cart. Thank God they were slow.

When we got to the tunnel, Jasper and Garrett jumped on the back and we took off.

The cart was convenient. Because it was too small to be a regular car, we could go into tight spaces if we needed to. But it was inconvenient too. Zombies could grab you easily if you weren't careful.

We were just two blocks away from my building when a horde that was lurking around the corner came directly at us. We couldn't fight them all and they were blocking the street, making it difficult for the cart to get through. So, we made the decision to jump and run. If we had any chance of surviving, we couldn't let them follow us to my building, so I made a quick decision.

"Guys! My buildings number is two-hundred-twenty-two, fourth floor, apartment four-hundred-four. You have to turn the next corner to the right. It is the third building before an alley!" I screamed and all of them looked at me puzzled. Garrett tried to tell me something but I didn't let him finish. I was going to do something very stupid, but I was the only one who knew this area. If my plan worked, maybe we could make it out of this alive.

When we neared the corner I deliberately hung back.

"Turn here!" I yelled at them, and they did. As soon as they were out of sight I began hitting cars with the baseball bat, making plenty of noise, as I ran in the opposite direction.

******Haystack******

Three days have passed since I walked out of my morning class at Seattle University to find that if I wanted to live, I was going to have to fight for my life.

Now, after running like my ass was on fire, I was hiding in a dumpster, in an alley, besides my apartment building. There were too many of them out there, because I had made a lot of noise when I closed the dumpster lid. I have to be quiet. If they hear me, it could be my end. I was dirty, thirsty and hungry. I had already lost my book bag, my wallet and the keys to my apartment. Thank God I had my iPhone in one of my jean pockets, and I could talk to Charlie before the services were cut off. My mind started to wander to my friends. Poor Felix… I can't even think about him without feeling sick. Those things ate him alive, in front of me! Then there was Dad and Edward. I only could hope this nightmare won't reach my home town. Alice, Jasper and Garrett, have you three made it to my apartment?
