AN: Hm... I think this is one of my more lazier chapters. It's not a lot different from the original, besides a few dialogue addition and scene changes. I'm gonna try to make up for it by doing something to spice it up a bit in the next chapter, maybe.
Ah, butterfly effect, how I love thee.
Also, THANKS FOR THE DRUGS FROM LAST CHAPTER. I LOVE YOU. That's right, I'm confessing my love for you on my own fanfiction on the internet. IF YOU DON'T LOVE ME BACK, I'LL SNEAK INTO YOUR HOUSE AND EAT YOU.
One last thing, I'm gonna change the genre to Humor/Friendship. Dunno why. Might be more fitting.
"GROOOOOOWR"
I am really starting to hate that bird.
We all ran out of the forest and into the field of the ancient abandoned temple as the Nevermore soared above us. Spreading out, we ran to cover behind some of the stone pillars. I peered around the corner and saw the Nevermore slowly perched itself on top a high column in front of us, effectively blocking us from moving forward.
"GROOOOOOWR"
Agh, and that DAMN SCREECH TOO!
"Well, that's just great." Yang said in annoyed tone.
"What's just great?"
Just then, the giant Death Stalker from before suddenly plowed through the trees behind us, hissing as it charged straight at us.
"GRAAAAAAAAH"
"That's not great. That's not great at all." I deadpanned at her.
"Aw man, run!" Jaune yelled.
Not needing to be told twice, we all ran out of cover and rushed towards the stone bridge underneath where the Nevermore was perched. When the Grimm spotted us though, it hovered in the air for a moment, screeching as it prepared to rain pointy feathery death upon us again. Thankfully, Ren called out Nora to distract it.
Nora obliged, and quickly bolted to the middle of the field as she jumped and rolled through the projectiles. She reached back and pulled out her- Ooh, is that a grenade launcher? I don't think I've ever seen one up close before. I wonder if it- DAMN IT ROSS FOCUS ADMIRE WEAPONS LATER.
The Nevermore flinched back from the pink grenade that pinkishly electricly exploded in it's face (I'm sure that's a word in a dictionary somewhere), causing it to fly away and retreat, which gave us the chance to get past it and reach the bridge.
I glanced back at Nora to see that the Death Stalker was just behind her. Fortunately, I didn't have to worry much, as Ren and Blake jumped in to slash at the Death Stalker while Weiss used her glyphs to grab Nora and leap away to safety.
I couldn't help but give an excited laugh at the situation we were in. A laugh that seemed way more excited than it should be. Despite everything that's happened to me today, from almost getting killed by giant versions of a Death Stalker and Nevermore, to putting up with Weiss, to cookie deprivation, this should be considered a pretty crappy day. Surprisingly enough, that was not the case. I was tired, I was hungry, I was stressed... and yet I found myself having the time of my life from it all.
I mean seriously, my life was starting to feel more like a comic book lately. Which was totally an awesome feeling.
Either that, or I'd gotten so angry that I went full circle and became crazy.
Yang, who was running right besides me, gave me this knowing smirk. "It sure beats homework and essays, am I right?"
"You're telling me!" I grinned back.
Once we reached the stone bridge, I heard Pyrrha shouting at us to keep moving as she took out her weapon and provided covering fire to push back the Death Stalker, giving Ren and Blake the chance to outrun it. Ren joined Pyrrha in giving covering fire for a brief moment, and Blake narrowly dodged a pincer attack.
I laughed again when I saw the Death Stalker stopped its pursuit as it realized it was too big to cross the bridge. "Ha! Try to get us now, you over-sized mutant spider!" I taunted. However, my mirth was short-lived when I looked to the side to see the giant Nevermore was flying full speed at us.
Oh right, that thing still existed... Wow, either it's really easy to forget about a giant bird of doom out for your blood, or I'm just the most stupidest person in the world. Probably the latter.
"I HATE BIRDS!" I shouted, leaping forward at the very last second as the Nevermore crashed through the bridge.
I grunted as I landed on my stomach, small pieces of rock and debris showering my back. Quickly jumping back up, I saw that nearly half of us were separated from the attack. With me was Yang, Weiss, Nora, and Jaune. The other side had Pyrrha, Ren, and Blake fighting off the Death Stalker.
Looking up, I gave an irritated look at the stupid annoying bird Grimm that had been a pain in my backside for the whole day. I pulled out the now fully loaded Crescent Rose in her rifle form and tried to shoot down the Nevermore, but none of my shots seemed to have any effect on it.
"Why are so many things bulletproof all of a sudden?!" I groaned.
I paid good money for these bullets, damn it! Money that could have been used to buy cookies instead!
Have I mentioned that I have an obsession with cookies? Or have you already known that from the other million times I mentioned that I liked cookies?
"We need to get to higher ground for a better vantage point!" Weiss commanded, before hopping herself up with her glyphs.
Yang took a glance back at the retreating Nevermore, then followed suit, using Ember Celica to launch herself after her.
Guess we had no choice but to fight the Nevermore after all.
While half of me was going, "Aw crap," because we were gonna try to kill a gigantic bird of death and evil, the other half was laughing maniacally, because... well... we're gonna try to, honest to Oum, kill a gigantic bird of death and evil!
I'm excited.
I turned back, and was about to ask Jaune and Nora if they were coming along, until I saw Jaune running near the edge of the broken bridge and shouted, "Man, we gotta get over there! They need help!"
Nora ran up beside him and gave a determined nod, "Let's do this!"
Welp, I guess that settles that. Shifting Crescent Rose into her scythe form, I shot myself up a few feet to catch up with Weiss and Yang.
I landed on a stone structure, and looked back one more time at the group handling the Death Stalker, but then I saw Nora- HOLY FREAKING DUST, NORA'S GRENADE LAUNCHER JUST TURNED INTO A WAR HAMMER, OH THAT IS SO COOL, I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT EXISTS-
Nora slammed her grenade launching war hammer onto the already-broken bridge, the impact breaking it even more while also catapulting Jaune into the air. After that, Nora placed her foot on her war hammer, then fired an explosive to launch herself to the other side of the bridge, similarly to how I would launch myself using Crescent Rose. She swung her war hammer mid-air, landing a blow right in the center of the Death Stalker's head. Pretty sure she had a crazed smile the whole time.
That girl is insane.
I am going to find a way to become her friend.
Social awkwardness be damned.
I continued to shoot myself further up, landing on a ruined platform at the top of the columns next to Weiss and Yang. Yang had been firing at the Nevermore as it flew past us, but so far, nothing seemed to affect it. Yang growled in frustration, "Urgh! Why won't this stupid bird go down?!"
"Our attacks are probably too weak individually. Perhaps if we all attacked it simultaneously, we might be able to do at least some damage to this giant Nevermore." Weiss suggested.
"Hm... Not exactly feeling confident about that plan, but we won't know if it'll work until we give it a shot." I said, cocking Crescent Rose's gun chamber, and hesitantly aiming her at the Grimm bird. The other two girls did the same with their weapons. "Alright, on my mark! Ready, aim, f...-" I paused, getting distracted by a peculiar sight. "Is that Blake swinging around on a whip?"
Wasn't she just down there fighting the Death Stalker with the others a moment ago? Agh, nevermind.
So, there Blake was, swinging majestically across the temple. Once she was near the Nevermore, she- …
*Blink*
Did she just... jump on herself to get in front of the Nevermore's face? That sounds crazy and physically impossible, I know. But I swear, it looked like she just... popped out and jumped on herself...
After slashing the Nevermore's skull a few times with her swords, she- SHE JUST DID IT AGAIN! She jumped on herself! I swear to Oum, there was, like, two Blakes for a brief second, and she used herself to jumped forward onto the Nevermore's backside!
Aaaghh dust, I think I'm seeing things. Hallucinations induced from my cookie deprivation, probably.
Hm, her agility was pretty impressive though. The way she spun and kicked in the air with this finesse of hers made her seem like a ninja, or maybe like an action-ballerina-with-swords.
…
So, basically, she's like a ninja.
But unfortunately, not even her cool-ninja-slashy moves were enough to hurt the Nevermore.
After dashing and slashing the giant Grimm's backside, Blake jumped off and landed on the stone columns right next to us. The Nevermore flew past, undeterred without a single scratch on it.
"It's tougher than it looks!" She said as we all jumped to the side of the stone column facing the Nevermore.
"Well, yeah, I could have told you that." I deadpanned quietly to myself.
The Nevermore circled back, screeching it's annoying screech that I so hated, once again.
Yang cocked Ember Celica, "Then let's hit it with everything we got!"
Blake shifted her katana sword into this cool knife-gun thing, cocking her gun chamber.
Weiss spun her magical dust rapier's revolver cylinder.
I- erm... I already kinda loaded Crescent Rose earlier, so I can't actually do my own dramatic gun-cock without wasting a bullet... So I just sort of awkwardly aimed Crescent Rose at the Nevermore...
The Nevermore started to fly towards us and we all tensed up.
"On my mark!" I shouted, "Ready... Aim... FUCK IT UP!" I, so eloquently, commanded.
A beautiful symphony of loud gunshots rang in my ears as we all fired our weapons (except Weiss, she was blasting blue energy bolts, which was pretty awesome too.)
This damn bird though, it was either weaving to dodge the projectiles or just eating it up harmlessly. Blake's bullets and mine did absolutely nothing to it, Yang's only staggered it a little, and it's almost like Weiss' attacks were just bouncing off of it's body.
I had a feeling that this wouldn't work.
We had to think of another plan. But what could we do that could possibly kill the Nevermore if our attacks weren't even strong enough scratch it?
Uh- Wait a minute, that Nevermore wasn't slowing down at all. Isn't it gonna try to shoot at us with it's feathers again? What was it trying to- Oh.
…
Oh dust, it's gonna ram us, isn't it.
"Brace for impact!" I yelled.
But it was too late, the column that we were standing on was demolished into pieces and debris as the Nevermore rammed us. Somehow we all managed to avoid getting hurt from the attack, but then we all realized that the platform we were standing on was falling.
Apparently, that's a running theme for this day. Falling to our deaths, but then avoiding death at the last second due to sheer luck, skills, or both.
Like right now, it was taking all of my skills and luck to not die as I kept jumping and landing on random pieces of concrete in mid-air, hoping that Monty Oum loves me enough to not let me miss, trip, or get crushed.
"Oh crap, oh crap, oh crap, oh crap, oh crap-"
After a series of epic acrobatic jumps and majestic leaps of faith, I was able to safely land on one of the higher bridges that were below the cliffs, along with Weiss.
"Freaking dust, that was awesome!" I cheered, "Hey Weiss, do you think anyone saw what we just did?!"
"What did I just say about trying to show off?" She gave a disapproving glare.
"Right, sorry. I'll concentrate now..."
Weiss harrumphed and glared back at the seemingly-invincible Nevermore. "What are we doing wrong? Nothing seems to be working."
I was gonna answer her rhetorical question, but I paused as I saw Blake swing by on her whip again.
Whip.
I looked at the Nevermore and saw how, while it didn't take any noticeable damage, it still staggered against Yang's incendiary shotgun pellets.
Stagger.
Weiss uses her glyphs in combination with her rapier's dust, right? Like how she used her glyphs to trap the Death Stalker, freezing it's tail from earlier.
Trap.
Looking closely at the Nevermore again, I noticed how the bone plates only covered it's head, but not it's front neck...
Neck.
From what I gathered, Crescent Rose- as sharp and awesome as she is- couldn't pierce the bone armor of a giant Death Stalker, so I was gonna take a guess and say that she probably wouldn't do jack-squat against the Nevermore's armor either... But what if I strike it in the neck?
Strike.
Hm... If Yang could somehow weaken... and if that worked, then Weiss could... Blake's whip seemed strong enough to... But Blake's sword didn't seem to do anything, so what if Crescent Rose wasn't sharp enough to... Maybe if Weiss used her glyphs... I haven't used my semblance in a while, so I could probably last long enough to... add in my bullet-jumping... All the way up the cliff? … All the way up the cliff.
…!
"I got a plan!" I snapped my fingers in a moment of eureka, "We're going to launch me straight at the Nevermore, and then I'm going to cut it's head off!"
"..."
"Okay, so maybe I could have explained that with better words."
"You're an idiot."
"Yes, as I've realized after the last five-hundred times you've reminded me." I deadpanned. "Just trust me on this, and cover me!"
Despite the stupid way I introduced her with my new plan, she complied and dashed ahead.
Now, time to get the others in on this.
"Professor Ozpin?"
"Hm? Oh yes, apologies, Glynda. I decided to use chess pieces as the relics for this year."
"Professor Ozpin, I asked that question about ten minutes ago."
"Have you? I apologize again, Glynda. It seems that I had my attention elsewhere."
"I can see that. You haven't yet taken your eyes off the young boy even once since initiation started."
"Hm."
"Hey Yang, remember number seven on my Christmas-slash-bucket-slash-to-do list?"
"What? Ross, can you ask me about that later when we're not trying to fight a giant bird here? I can't exactly get you a giant sling-shot right now!"
"Well actually, you can! Sort of."
"GROOOOOOOWR"
"What are you talking... You have a plan."
"Yep."
"Oh-ho~! Count me in!"
"Sir, if I may ask?"
"What's currently on your mind, Glynda?"
"It's just that... I've never seen you focus this much attention on a student before. What is so special about Ross Rose? Why did you allow a fifteen year old boy to join a prestigious academy like Beacon, so early?"
Silence... and then a somber sigh. "Let's just say... I made a deal with someone who passed away a while ago. She was close friend... and an ambitious mother."
Sometimes, I can be a little jealous at how cool my big sister is.
"POLLY- *Bang*- WANT A- *Bang*- CRACKER?!- *Bang*- HUH?! *Bang*"
"GROOOOOWR"
Only a little bit though. What I'm about to do next would probably beat her in terms of badass.
Yang back-flipped off from the Nevermore's beak, right before said Nevermore collided into the cliff and fell onto the ruin below. But despite the possible burnt throat and disorientation that Yang caused to it, it reminded us just how durable it really is, and was quickly regaining it's bearings.
We're not gonna give it the chance though.
"Weiss! You're up!"
Weiss nodded affirmatively as she summoned a glyph beneath herself, then zipped herself forward, passing Yang. The Nevermore was just about to fly back up, but then Weiss hopped in just in time and trapped the Nevermore's tail in place, preventing the bird from going anywhere. Just as planned.
Now for the part I was looking forward to. "Blake! Yang!"
"You got it!" Blake threw-shot her pistol-sword to Yang while holding onto her whip. Yang caught the pistol-sword, and embedded it into the column, holding the whip firmly in place between the columns.
"Alright!" I shot myself up, twisted and positioned myself in mid-air, and landed right in the middle of the whip, stretching it back far enough until Weiss held it in place with a glyph.
As Weiss aligned me properly so that I'd hit straight at the target, she said, "I'd like to know what went through your head when you thought of this plan, but then I realized, I actually don't want to know."
"I'd like to know what went through your head when you heard of this plan but still agreed to go with it anyway. I actually still do."
"Hmph. Fair enough." She smirked.
I glanced at Weiss, "Can you land the target?"
"Can't I?" She replied confidently.
"Good. Ready... Aim... Lau- Wait, does that means you-"
"Of course I can!"
"Ok, ok, sorry. Just making sure."
I looked ahead and furrowed my eyes as I intensely stared at the gigantic Grimm in front of me, preparing myself for what many would soon call 'The most epic thing to have ever happened since sliced bread and eggs.'
"LAUNCH!"
Weiss swung her sword, and the black glyph that held me in place glowed red before I felt an explosion pushing me forward and launching me straight at the Nevermore.
"WOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOO!"
Air rushing past face. Adrenaline pumping to the max. Disregard of safety. It was everything I've ever dreamed.
No time to enjoy moment, gotta go faster. Shoot Crescent Rose.
Twenty-eight, twenty-seven, twenty-six-
Caught ya!
Neck caught in scythe-blade. Neck is strong. Not for long. Gotta keep going.
Twenty-three, twenty-two, twenty-one-
I grunted as I landed on the side of the cliff, carrying along the heavy sack of waste with Crescent Rose.
Oh dust, this thing is heavy! Weiss, please hurry up with the glyphs, I can feel gravity working again!
Before the weight of the Nevermore got strong enough to pull me down and screwing the whole plan up, I felt the gravity shift underneath me. In a straight line before me was a long series of light blue glyphs, leading up all the way towards the top.
I took a deep breath and steeled myself. No time for breaks just yet.
I activated my semblance and hoped it lasted long enough for the bumpy ride.
"Raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-"
Eighteen, seventeen, sixteen, fifteen-
Going up. Going fast. Not fast enough. Go faster.
"-aaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-"
Neck is starting to get loose. Can feel it. So close! Go faster!
Fourteen, thirteen, twelve- AUGH!
Pain, head, hurt, bad. Can't concentrate...
No, not now...
Dizziness... tired...
"-AAAaaaaaaaa... aaeeeeeeeehh..."
Gotta... keep going... Can't stop... Or else I'm gone...
Slowing down... Nevermore screeching and fighting back... Too tired to muster strength...
No, I can't faint. Need to keep going. Keep going faster!
Need to go faster-
Agh!
Head ringing... it's splitting open... I can't... no, I can't...
"GROOOOOOOWR"
It... it's pulling me back down... aw crap... not fair...
I can't go forward... I'm so stupid... over-using my semblance...
I can't tell what's going on...
Is this it...?
Maybe I really am gonna die today...
…
…
…
Hm... I say 'Nope' to this.
Wait what.
I suddenly feel a sense of clarity and refreshment.
What the hell am I thinking?! I can't give up now! GET BACK UP AND KEEP GOING!
I clamped my feet on the side of the cliff to stop myself from descending any further down, and tugged back Crescent Rose, causing the Nevermore to choke.
With newfound strength, I bursted forward with speed faster than I thought I could ever go. I was so fast, my feet ruptured the cliff wall as I ran.
In fact, was I even on Weiss' glyph trail anymore?
No, don't think about it. Just keep going even faster.
"RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-"
With each step, I concentrated even harder on my semblance, making me go faster and faster. Each step, the Nevermore bounced and choked on Crescent Rose. With the speed I was going, the velocity would be enough to get Crescent Rose to puncture through the Nevermore's skin.
I had ten bullets left.
Ten, nine, eight, seven-
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-"
I felt the neck get dislocated! Faster!
Five, four-
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-"
Wonder what I'll call this move? Wait, I know...
Three... two... LAST BULLET!
"NO COUGH DROPS ON THE MOON!"
Reaching the edge of the cliff, I flipped over and shot my final bullet from Crescent Rose, finally decapitating the Nevermore's head and causing it to fly off into the distance.
And when I say 'fly off into the distance,' I meant, 'Holy crapballs in duckspace, that thing is flying. Dear dust, it's still going!'
Jeeze.
I fell onto a knee and wheezed. Man, that took a lot of energy out of me. But I finally killed the damn bird...
"Wait... I actually did it? Holy crap... I just... I just decapitated a gigantic Nevermore! Boo-ya!" I laughed in shock.
I had absolutely no idea what just happened. One moment I was near the point of passing out and falling to my death again, the next... well, something happened.
Whatever it was, I felt soooo tired now... but accomplished.
I stood up, patted my clothes, and walked to the edge of the cliff. Rose petals hovered elegantly in the air, dancing around in symphony with each other.
These rose petals come out of nowhere whenever I use my semblance. Don't know if it's part of my semblance or whatever, but it looks cool.
With the view up here, I could see the ruined temple in its entirety. Although the area was foggy, and the buildings destroyed, for some odd reason, I found the view... beautiful.
Was this what it feels like to be at the top of the world?
...
The silence was starting to bother me. I needed to say something.
Hm... I've always wanted to do this at some point.
I held Crescent Rose above me, and shouted at the top of my lungs.
"I AM THE GRIMM REAPEEEEER!"
My voice was echoed by the mountains for dramatic effect.
Well, glad I got that out of my system.
I feel sleepy.
Nap-time.
*thud*
Yawn... I'm probably gonna forget this ever happened at some point... oh well...
Zzzz...
…
…
…
Heheheh. I'm so proud at how much you've grown, Ross.
…
"I AM THE GRIMM REAPEEEEER!"
Without another word, Ross fell on his back and, presumably, passed out on top of the cliff.
Jaune gave a whisper of awe.
Nora smiled excitedly over the idea of having Death as her new friend.
Pyrrha had no clue what just happened.
Ren stared indifferently.
Weiss breathed heavily from her glyph usage.
Blake nodded, impressed.
Yang smiled, "Well... That was a thing."
Glynda couldn't believe her eyes.
Ozpin smirked.
Ross dreamed of eating cookies and punching bad guys in the face.
Omnomnomnomnomn-
"Are you seriously eating cookies in the middle of the ceremony?"
"YESIAMEATINGCOOKIESINTHEMIDDLEOFTHECEREMONY- Omnnomnomnomn-"
Cookies are good.
Phew, I feel better now.
After whatever happened during initiation, I awoke to find myself in the infirmary rooms of the academy.
A nurse was in the room when I came to, and she explained about how I used up a dangerous amount of aura, and there was a chance that I could have died from the stunt I just did in initiation. Something about how I was lucky not to die or turn into a vegetable or something, due to how much aura I used up, or whatever. I was really out of it when I woke up.
When Weiss, Blake, and Yang found out about this, they reacted rather poorly.
"YOU IDIOT! I KNEW THAT WAS A BAD IDEA!"
That was Weiss' reaction.
"WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY SOMETHING ABOUT THIS?! I WOULDN'T HAVE AGREED TO THE PLAN IF I KNEW YOU WERE GONNA MESS UP AND DIE!"
That was Yang's.
Blake didn't really say much, and only folded her arms.
For some odd reason, there was a doctor in a banana suit in the room. I can't tell if that was real or not.
Anyway, stuff happened after that, we're gonna pass initiation, and I got my cookies. All is well in the world, and nothing else matters for now.
"Russel Thrush. Cardin Winchester. Dove Bronzewing. Sky Lark." Ozpin addressed the students as they walked up to the stage.
The screen above them showed a compilation of recordings of the events that they did during initiation. There was a brief scene of how Big Guy With Mace met his partner, Green Mohawk Guy. Then there was a scene of how Bronze Eyes Closed and Weird Blue Hair Style partnered up. Right next to that recording was another recording, this time with all of them fighting against a horde of Beowolves that were on fire. For some reason, I felt guilty about that, though I can't remember why...
"The four of you retrieved the black bishop pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as Team CRDL. Led by... Cardin Winchester!" The audience applauded as they exited the stage.
I took a thoughtful sip from my glass of milk.
That was the seventh team formed. The ceremony should be ending soon.
"Jaune Arc. Lie Ren. Pyrrha Nikos. Nora Valkyrie."
Oh hey, Jaune's up. I never did get to see how he and the others got rid of the giant Death Stalker.
The recordings showed a compilation of Jaune partnering with Pyrrha, Ren partnering with Nora, and how they all worked together to bring down the gigantic Death Stalker. Ren shot it's stinger loose, and Pyrrha boomeranged her shield at the stinger to cut it off, making it pierce the top of the Death Stalker's head. Then Nora hammered it. It was freakin' awesome.
"Huh. So that's how they did it. I approve." I ate another piece of cookie.
"The four of you retrieved the white rook pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as Team JNPR."
Juniper? You mean, like the planet?
"Led by... Jaune Arc!" Ozpin revealed.
"L-led by...?" Jaune stuttered in shock from the epic news.
Woah! Jaune's the leader of his team? That's awesome!
Despite being really out of it, I still tried to use my energy to cheer out for Jaune. "WOO HOO! YEAH! GO JAUNE! I FIST-BUMP YOU FROM AFAR! Eeuugh..." Then I tiredly plopped back down on my seat.
Aw man, I dropped some of my cookies.
Jaune gave me a sheepish look as Ozpin congratulated him. While he wasn't looking, Pyrrha playfully punched him in the shoulder, but she apparently used too much force in that punch since it caused Jaune to get knocked over. The audience laughed at the exchange as they left the stage.
"C'mon Ross, we're up next." Yang gently pulled me out of my seat.
Hearing that, I quickly shoved the last of my cookies down my throat and carried my glass of milk with me as I walked up to the stage with everyone.
"And finally... Blake Belladonna. Ross Rose. Weiss Schnee. Yang Xiao Long." Ozpin addressed us as we stood in front of him.
I glanced up above the screen to see some recordings of familiar scenes when I was in initiation. It was basically a compilation of three second clips of what I did in initiation, just like everyone else's. Up from the epic three point landing I did at the start of initiation, all the way to the epic moment when I decapitated the gigantic Nevemore.
Either this was a trick of the light, my out-of-it state, or the recording itself, but my clothes looked very pink during the whole 'decapitation' part, instead of the usual red.
...
Meh.
"The four of you retrieved the white knight pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as Team RWBY."
Woo, team RWBY! Victory milk-sip!
Although, there's still the matters of a leader...
"Led by..."
Probably gonna be Weiss.
"Ross Rose!"
*Ppbbhht* *hack* *cough* "Wait,what?!"
Ijubogifhrasjfge- What?! I-I- What? …... WHAT?!
Damn it, I spat out the last of my milk!
"But... why him?" Weiss whispered to herself.
A sudden familiar feeling of painful crushing weight was wrapped around my midsection, as the violent blonde attacker shouted in joy, "I KNEW IT! Oh, I am so proud of you!"
Lungs... asphyxiating... Ribs... breaking... Light... fading... Mother, is that you?
(AN: Ok, that's my last dead mom joke. I promise.)
Amidst all the applause from the audience, and the process of me about to die again, Ozpin chuckled to himself. "It looks like things are shaping up to be an-"
"OH GOD, A GIANT DECAPITATED NEVERMORE HEAD!"
*Loud Crash*
*Random Lady Scream*
*Various Screams of Shock and Surprise From Audience*
"... interesting year."
Yep. This definitely feels lazy to me. Let me know if this might be too cheesy or rushed or something.
NEXT CHAPTER! First day of Beacon! Time to microwave the Ice Princess' heart!
Will Ross somehow fix Weiss' weird attitude problem with him being the leader?
Will Ross himself be a good leader to team RWBY?
How come stuff gets weirder when Ross doesn't eat his cookies?
Will my chapter come out faster next time? Spoilers: Probably not.
Find out... ON... THE NEXT CHAPTER!
…
Yes, this is the tone for the entire story. There shall be no serious moments unless there is a serious moment. There is only fun and friendship. Fun and friendship is fun. Also ship-teasing.
Hypothetical question, let's say I made a poll for which pairings you'd like to see come to fruition. Who would you want Ross to be paired with? Remember, voting does not actually do anything to affect future chapters. This is just hypothetical.
