Thank you so much for the reviews! Luckily I had a day off from work so here's the next chapter!

Damon woke with a start, 'someone snapped my neck!' he thought to himself with annoyance, he thought he was above the whole getting jumped from behind, especially now that he was on 'Team Original' as Caroline had called it. He looked around the room and groaned, he was in the Salvatore Cellar which means that it was his brother who'd taken him down, Damon's eyes widened at the implication, if Stefan had attacked him then did that mean he knew about the White Oak? It would only make sense considering that the sign was missing from the History Department. He forced himself to sit up and held back a moan of pain, Stefan had verveined him too! There was no way that he would be able to get out the cell without help.

"Hello brother," Stefan smirked from the other side of the door.

"Stefan, what did you do?" Damon growled glaring at his younger brother.

"Oh Matt just overheard a very interesting conversation Kol had with Carol Lockwood, and it got us to thinking, what could possibly be so important about the wood in Wickery Bridge?" Stefan tapped his chin thoughtfully for a moment before returning his attention to his brother, "And then it hit me, there's only one wood that the Originals would be interested in and that's the wood that would kill them."

"I have no idea what you're talking about."

"Oh there's no point in denying it brother, you may have destroyed the logging journals that we had here, but you didn't know that Zack had handed them over to the library 15 years ago for cataloguing. It was pretty easy finding the information that we needed, a White Oak tree grew in the place of the one that was burned down, and our family turned it into the bridge. And now we have twelve stakes that can kill an Original, not that we'll need them all." Stefan turned to walk away when Damon slammed against the door separating them.

"Stefan don't, you don't need to kill them!"

"Actually I do Damon, and once Kol's dead, whatever compulsion he used on you will vanish and you'll be back to your old self again, pining after Elena."

"Stefan no!" the youngest Salvatore just ignored him and walked away, "STEFAN!"

Rebekah and Kol stood in front of a burning Wickery Bridge smirking, all they had to do was confirm that Damon had destroyed the sign and there would officially be nothing left on the Earth that could kill them.

They heard a truck pull up and their smirks, if possible, grew wider, they turned and saw Matt and Alaric get out of the vehicle with wide eyes, "Sorry sweetheart, but it looks like you won't be able to kill us anytime soon," Rebekah said looking at Matt. She was pissed that he'd been in on the newest plan to kill them, but wasn't about to let him know.

"Oh my God," Matt said looking at the bridge that was now up in flames.

"Little tip," Kol said striding up to the two, "As humans it's probably best to stay out of vampire affairs, especially when said vampires are so much stronger than you."

"Matt let's go," Ric tugged on the younger man's arm, pulling him back to the truck.

"Yes Matt go," Kol mocked, as he watched the two humans flee from their site, normally he would go after them, but the older human was a friend of Damon's and he and Rebekah needed to stay in order to prevent anyone from trying to put out the fire.

Caleb knelt on the floor in front of small coffee table in the Original mansion, he was surrounded by candles and had four vials of blood sitting before him. He took each vial, Finn's, Elijah's, Kol's and Rebekah's and poured the blood into a bowl, mixing some herbs in with it chanting a spell as he did so. He poured the blood out onto the table and continued chanting as Klaus and Aria looked on, the lights flickered around them, as if the spirits were trying to prevent what was happening and Klaus rolled his eyes, "How spooky, meddling witches," he muttered receiving an elbow to the gut and a glare from his step mother.

"Hush, your father needs all his concentration in order to complete the spell and stop the spirits from interfering."

The two then watched in silence as the lights slowly came back on and the blood in the centre of the table began to split four ways. It continued to travel further from the centre until finally all four corners of the table housed a different Original's blood. Opening his eyes and wiping sweat from his brow, "It's done, call Kol and Rebekah to make sure."

Klaus nodded and dialled his brother's number, after speaking to him and getting him to test to confirm that they were no longer linked, Klaus gave his father a small smile. "It worked, thank you father."

Caleb smiled at his son and not for the first time wished that he had been able to raise the boy himself, "There's no need to thank me Nik, you know we'd do anything for you." Caleb's arm came around his wife's waist, tightening as she nodded her agreement.

"Now that that unpleasantness is over with, how about we have a little catch up," Aria suggested, "Blaze was telling me about a blonde baby vampire that you seem to be enamoured with." She teased, laughing at the feint blush that appeared on his cheeks.

"I've got no idea what you're talking about," he muttered, looking away, he was going to kill Blaze when she got back.

Stefan was with the Mystic Falls Gang in the woods, minus Bonnie, Damon and Tyler. "So we have twelve stakes, that makes two for each of us. We each have two shots at killing the Originals and we need to make them count. So let's practice."

Alaric stepped forward holding a stake, "Ok Elena, you're Rebekah, Matt you play the distraction," Elena turned to Matt and pretended to talk to him, while Alaric stepped up behind her and made to Stake her through the back.

"Ok next…" Stefan called.

Damon rattled the door, desperately trying to get it open, he needed to warn Kol about stakes, he should have been more careful and taken one of the twins with him like Klaus had suggested but he'd been cocky, and now he may be too late. Growling when the door didn't budge, Damon sat down against the door and put his head in his hands. How was he supposed to stop his brother from killing the man that he loved? This wasn't like the last time he was trapped in a cell and he had a human linked to him through their blood, Andie was dead and Caroline a vampire… 'Wait a minute…she's my vampire!' he thought suddenly and closed his eyes. He would try to reach out with his mind to connect to Caroline's again, she may not have been human anymore, but their connection ran much deeper now that she had been turned using his blood. Desperately he stretched his mind out in an effort to try and connect with hers. Was it possible? He'd never heard of anything like it before, but then again he was a pretty powerful vampire himself. Kol had explained that being able to control fog and shapeshifting into a crow was extremely rare for a vampire. Those abilities were generally seen as witches abilities but sometimes, on occasion, something passed through the net, the spirits missed it in him when he was turned, because he'd never shown any affinity toward magic before that. The problem of course was that both of those abilities required fresh blood to use, and he'd been on the bagged stuff for quite some time. Furrowing his brow Damon tried to focus on the emptiness that surrounded him and then, almost out of nowhere, he felt a little jolt.

Stryfe walked through Mystic Falls taking in the surprising quiet that came with being in small town America with a sigh, while he enjoyed peace and quiet as much as the next guy he was beginning to miss his home. He was the head of the royal guard in the Underworld, which meant that he controlled much that went on beneath the world of men. His family had been up in the human world for too long now, leaving their palace empty with only their 'pets' and the royal guard to secure it. He would have to go back soon and dreaded telling Klaus, he walked into a coffee shop on the corner of the town centre and was pleasantly surprised with what he found. The 'Mystic Bean' as it was called, was actually a quaint little café that appeared to be ignored by the vast majority of the Mystic Falls population. He ordered a coffee and then sat down in a corner of the shop that was dedicated to reading, pulling the menu from the table he began perusing, seeing if there was anything worth it.

Stryfe was interrupted though by the most delicious scent he'd ever had the pleasure of perceiving, looking up from the menu his eyes met a pair of chocolate ones attached to a dark haired African beauty. Her eyes widened as she met his and he offered her an almost feral smirk that had her blushing and heading for the counter. Stryfe waited until she'd gotten her drink and sat down before picking his up and heading over to greet her, she was sat with her head tilted down staring at her coffee cup, whether that was because of him or something else he didn't know, what did know however was that he wanted her attention to be back on him. He placed his mug down on her table, startling her out of her reverie and sat down in the empty chair opposite. "Hi," he said in a deep voice that caused her body to erupt in goose bumps. "I couldn't help but notice you as you walked in," he spoke confidently, in a way that betrayed his years of experience in the world, "I just had to say, that you're the most beautiful woman that I have ever had the pleasure of laying my eyes on." The girl blushed and muttered a thank you before he continued, "Tell me what is it that I should call you?"

"I'm Bonnie," the girl replied and Stryfe's turned into a smile.

"Well Bonnie," he took her hand into his and kissed the back of her knuckles, "it's an absolute pleasure to meet you."

Caroline was growing more and more uneasy by the second, after Damon's little shove, she'd spent the rest of the restoration getting to know Klaus in a way that she didn't think many people had, and when she was with him, she found herself forgetting about all the terrible things that he had done. Frowning at that thought she tried to pay attention to what Stefan was saying about killing the Originals and couldn't ignore the painful gnawing in her gut, telling her that it was wrong, nor the sharp pain in her head that was getting increasingly difficult to deal with. She almost gasped out loud when she lifted her eyes and spotted a week looking Damon reaching out for her. She'd only ever seen such an image once, when Damon was trapped in the cellar of the boarding house starving because his brother had locked him up. 'Oh he didn't,' she thought miserably looking at Stefan's face. 'He did,' she said to herself and interrupted the youngest Salvatore's monologue. "Stefan I have to go, I promised mom that we could spend some time together today and I don't want her all mixed up in this."

Stefan sighed, annoyed that the only other vampire in their team was bailing but nodded, indicating that she should leave first. "Take your stakes with you, just in case," he said before she ran off.

Caroline grabbed the make shift stakes and headed back to her car. She needed to find Damon and figure out what to do.

Finn and Sage entered the Mystic Grill, now that he had been separated from his siblings, Klaus had let them out of the house, he still didn't trust his oldest brother but now Finn couldn't kill himself and hurt the rest of his siblings. The couple ordered some drinks and sat in a booth while she tried to get him caught up on what he'd missed out on in life.

Matt eyed the two carefully staying out of their sight and texted Stefan and Alaric to let them know that there was an Original on site. They were laughing and joking when he got a text back from Alaric, they were waiting outside, and needed him to draw the Original out. Matt looked around the bar for inspiration, how was he supposed to get them out of the bar? He poured a drink for the next customer and when he went to put the bottle back down he knocked another bottle underneath the bar that he had hidden there, a bottle of vervein water. Matt grabbed the bottle of vervein water and poured some of the contents into the drink that was supposed to go over to Finn and Sage. He stopped the waitress from taking it over, if something went wrong and one of the vampires reacted badly then he wasn't about to put someone innocent in their view. He took the drinks over to them, put them on the table and headed towards the door, he waited for them to take a sip and the second Sage's eyes met his, he was through the back door and out in the alleyway behind the Grill.

Finn growled as his mouth burned, he looked up and saw the blond bartender scurry out the back door, he looked over at his lover who had a similar look of anger on her face and they both followed. The eldest Original burst through the door and grabbed Matt by the throat, he was thrown off by Stefan, who brought his stake down, trying to kill the older vampire. Sage pulled him off quickly, her face morphing into her vampiric visage she attacked Stefan. Finn stood up and made to help his lover but was blocked by Alaric who brought up another stake, Finn knocked it out of the history teacher's hands, gripped him by the neck and sank his fangs into his throat, he only drank from Alaric for a moment when he felt a sharp pain in his back. Finn released Alaric with wide eyes as he felt a burning pain starting from his heart, Matt moved away from Finn's back and watched as the Original fell to the ground and went up in flames.

"NO!" Sage screamed, Stefan took the opportunity to snap her neck, grab Matt and Alaric and run back to the mansion.

Caroline rushed to the Boarding House and down to the cellar, "Damon?" she called.

"Caroline?" He replied, pulling himself up from his place on the floor, "You came."

"You called," she said looking at him through the bars, "Damon, Stefan made White Oak Stakes,"

"I know, he was bragging before he left, 12 stakes that can kill the man I love Caroline."

"Actually it's only 10 now," she showed him the two stakes in her possession, "I don't want them."

Damon looked at her in disbelief, "I wasn't sure that you would help me."

"Neither was I, but you said you loved him, I've seen you heartbroken Damon, it's not something I ever want this town to see again." She opened the cellar door and handed over the stakes, "You need to warn them."

"You're coming with me Caroline."

"What? No I can't."

"Listen to me, when Stefan finds out I'm free and you don't have the stakes, it's not going to take long for him to put two and two together, Stefan's acting crazy right now, who knows what he'd do to you." He pulled the baby vampire along and they both flashed towards the Original Mansion, just as Stefan, Alaric and Matt were heading back to the Boarding House.

Kol burst through the doors of the mansion looking around frantically, "Damon!" he called, "Damon!"

"Kol what are you doing?" Klaus asked walking into the hallway.

"Is Damon here?"

"No I thought he was with you."

"I've been calling him, he's not picking up, what if something happened to him?"

"Come," Klaus motioned for his brother to follow, "we'll check the school first."

Before either of them could leave the vampire in question rushed inside, with Caroline at his heals, he threw the two stakes at their feet "Stefan snapped my neck," he gasped out, the vervein Stefan had injected him with was seriously taking his toll.

"I found him in the cellar at the Boarding House," Caroline said looking at the Hybrid, "He made twelve White Oak stakes-" she was cut off by Kol, he slammed her up against the wall, choking her.

"And why should we trust you?" he growled, he was furious, Damon had been hurt and if there was one thing that he would kill for, it was for the person he loved most.

"Kol!" Damon staggered towards him and gripped his arm, "She let me out of the cell, Kol she helped me, let her go."

Kol released Caroline and grabbed Damon, looking him over while Klaus moved over to the blonde, "Those are the two Stefan gave me," she coughed.

"Who has the rest?" Klaus asked. Caroline shot him a look, she didn't want him to die, but she couldn't betray her friends. "Caroline, either I kill all your friends or just the ones that won't give me those stakes, I will not allow anyone to threaten my family."

Stefan headed downstairs to let Damon out of the cellar, now that the Originals were dead he should be free of whatever compulsion Kol had on him. "Damon! They're dead brother, I can let you out now!" he moved towards the cellar but froze when he saw the door wide open. "Crap," he muttered. He rushed back upstairs, "Ric! Damon's gon-" He stopped when he saw Alaric's body on the floor and Matt in the grips of two vampires, one of them was Sage. "Sage, listen-"

Sage let go of Matt and slammed her fist into Stefan's face, she kicked him in the stomach, throwing him across the room, "How dare you!" she stalked towards him with fury on her face, "You took away the one person that I loved! I waited 900 years to get him back and you took him!" she picked him up by his shirt and threw him in front of Matt, "I will kill you!" she walked towards him before freezing, she grabbed her chest, where her heart was, "What-"

She started coughing before she fell to the floor dead, Stefan stood up and looked over at the vampire holding Matt who started coughing too before falling down dead. "What just happened?" Matt asked.

"We killed Finn," Stefan said, "and then Sage died, and so did her friend, Finn turned Sage and Sage turned this guy…"

"When you kill an Original, you kill their whole bloodline," Matt said looking down at the vampire before him, "you're not dead."

"Which means that the Originals broke the link, and we've just lost the only advantage we had, the element of surprise."

And Finn's dead, I know some of you may disagree with that, but after what he did in the Originals to Kol, he totally deserves it...
