Son Of Stain

Chapter Nine: Born, Locked Up In Chains.

From the moment Jiraiya was born, I knew he'd be in pain. He'd been through so much growth and change… I hurt my heart to tranquilize him. I was no father. I'd ignored him, just left him in a moment of personal weakness. I picked him up and carried him away from the arms of his beloved. Just like when he was little.

God, when he was little… he was so lonely, and it shattered me, if I was Stendhal, I'd take him away without a second look back. But I was Stain, the coward that doesn't know what to believe.

I put him on my back, "Jiraiya, I know you can't hear me… but… I hope you can find your own way," I sighed as I came before the lab, it was literally a hole in the wall, and that bitch I'm working with wants to take away Jiraiya's identity.

She had no right to take him, but I wanted my freedom… She breezed up to me.

"Aka! Thank you for bringing him!" she exclaimed, her crimson eyes blazing as she strapped him to a bed, wheeling him over to that damn machine in the center of the room, one that took Stendhal and broke me in two.

"Whuh… what? Ibara? Where's Ibara?! ANSWER M-" Jiraiya thundered, his eyes wide with fear as he was shocked into silence. Emiya started to apply the helmet as he struggled, his eyes darting around.

"No… no… DAD?! MOM?! TETSU?! IBARA?! HELP ME!" He cried out in desperation. I stepped out of the shadows, his face lit up in hope and glee.

"Dad! Dad, please! Don't let her do this! Dad, I don' wanna forget you! I don't wanna forget anything!" He begged in desperation, his eyes pouring with tears.

"Jiraiya…" I swallowed the lump in my throat, "Jiraiya, you're gonna be okay…" I mumbled. I turned away, walking towards the exit.

"Dad! Don't let her do this! Dad, Dad! DON'T LEAVE ME!" he pleaded, screaming and thrashing, trying to break free as the helmet inhibited his quirk.

"DAMN YOU! DAMN YOU!" he yelled, as the procedure started.

All I heard was his screams. His screams of desperate pain, his screams of loss. I needed help, and I knew exactly who to go to. I found her house and went up to the door, I didn't want to sneak in, I needed her help.

Miss Kayama Nemuri, my son's unofficial guardian. I knocked, and I knew it wasn't that late. I didn't want to involve his friends, but I'm pretty sure they'd force themselves in.

There were footsteps, running, and the door flew open. Revealing his woman, standing there with fear now in her black eyes, her hair writhing.

"You!" she said, her voice dripping with venom as I saw Kayama behind her, her blue eyes stern.

"Oh wow, here to turn yourself in?" she snarled.

"No, Jiraiya… he's in danger!" I spat, my social skills lacking in the worst of times. I stood there, hoping that they'd believe me.

"I'm going," his girl said.

"Ibara, wait, how do we know if we can trust him?" Kayama interrupted.

"If you couldn't, I would've killed you two without a second thought upon meeting you, you owe Jiraiya your life, Miss Kayama. You were one of my targets…" I admitted.

"Then there's no time to lose. Ibara, you go call Tetsutetsu, tell him to get any pro he can get his hands on! Stain, you're with me!" Kayama ordered.

For a provocative woman, she sure is commanding… We ran to her car, and I forgot my motion sickness.

"Alright, Mr. Chizome, hang on!" she yelled, backing out and pealing out of the drive and into the street as my stomach was doing backflips. I was never good with any kind of motor vehicle. We saw a red van pull up alongside us with Jiraiya's homeroom teacher driving like a demon as well.

"Alright, it's a little way out of town! You gotta take a mountain road if you wanna get to it!" I said as Kayama floored it with Kan's van right on our six. I saw someone on a huge black motorbike driving alongside us, it's rider had a long coat, he looked over, and blue flames ignited.

"SUBJECT ON OUR THREE! SWERVE, SERPENTINE!" I yelled, getting out of the car and jumping to a nearby truck. The rider skidded and jumped onto it, his bike collapsing into a nickel-sized version of itself.

"Hey there, Three!" the rider greeted.

"I didn't see you there, Six…" I growled as he exchanged blows with me, his flaming fists making it hard to get a few good hits in. I kicked him back, taking his bike and summoning it forth, jumping on and pulling ahead. He sped after me, jumping from vehicle to vehicle.

I was about to crash when Eleven came out of nowhere, his clones tackled Six and threw him into oncoming traffic before dispersing. He landed behind me.

"Whew! We got here on time! That Tetsutetsu kid called me and Five… Thirteen, Ten, and Fifteen… they're ahead!" He informed.

"Damn, so she finished the process?!" I cursed.

"Yeah, Jiraiya's not taking it lying down, though, he's fighting it with all he's got… but, he's failing," he sighed.

"Fuck! Kayama! We gotta hit the gas!" I snapped.

She nodded and the three of us sped up as Five showed up, riding on his own motorbike, as a robot wolf dashed alongside him. We saw the lab ahead as I jumped the gate with Eleven whooping and the cars slowing down.

We all gathered up, with Kan leading five other kids alongside Ibara.

"Look, Mr. Kan was all I could get… and then these guys showed up!" the kid, with steel gray hair and oddly shaped eyelashes, said.

"Okay, we need someone who will be undetected in the cover of darkness, alongside Wolf, who will provide recon," I instructed.

"Shihai, go with Wolf," Kan ordered as a boy with black skin and gray hair nodded.

"Okay, any heavy hitters?" I asked as a girl with ginger hair and teal eyes raised her hand, alongside the steel kid.

"You'll soften the area alongside Kan, Kayama and I will try to get through to Jiraiya, under no circumstances are any of you to engage, unless absolutely necessary. Ibara, if you get to Thirteen, give 'er hell," I snarled as she smiled.

"Five, Eleven, you two stay here and keep watch, call in the cops and paramedics, it's gonna get dicey, and you. Kazoo Kid, what the hell are you doing here?" I asked.

The blond kid smiled, "I gotta get the crybaby back…" he reasoned.

"What about Emiya?" Kan growled.

"That bitch is Jiraiya's to kill…" I snarled.

Emiya cuddled her boy to her chest, her perfect angel. He was sheathed in black metal, the only thing that could purify him.

"Ah, they're here… your father and that bitch you used to call your mother… I raised you better than that, yes?" she asked.

Jiraiya nodded, his eyes hidden by the slats in his mask. He was hollow, empty, and without emotion. Robotically staring off into space.

"Thirteen darling, take Fifteen out to play. Have fun, and bring them back alive!" she advised as she saw her boy be dragged out by the girl he once played with.

I slashed through the guards, my eyes burning, seething red. I didn't care, all I wanted was my boy. MY SON. The others did their jobs, with Wolf and Shihai doing extremely well. Wolf was actually Jiraiya's comfort bot.

"So… what's the story with the robot-wolf?" Kayama asked.

"He protected Jiraiya when he was younger, Five made him because Jiraiya wanted a friend," I explained.

We continued through the base, with the kids fighting their own battles. In fact, Jiraiya was ahead of us, he was sheathed in black metal, his blood engine form.

"Forgive me, I am not allowed a choice… Kayama, Chizome, you must die," he said, his sword was new, a golden-orange, sparking with electricity, held in his metallic hands like a trained master. Wolf stood with us.

"Directive 001 is to ensure the safety of my master… to act against it is to violate my directive… if you are to do him harm," He said.

"He's unsafe, Wolfy… you want him back, right?" Kayama reasoned.

"You make a convincing argument, but you must understand… my master is my prime directive, and his safety is my priority. He is not himself, so I shall join you!" Wolf reasoned as Jiraiya charged at me.

"Remember me!" I yelled, clashing with him, he smiled as we exchanged blows.

"MASTER!" Wolf howled, bounding towards him with his blade out. We clashed with him as he dodged Wolf's blows. He snarled and jumped into the air to gain some sort of advantage, I kicked him down as Kayama wound her whip around his leg and with some effort, slung him into the wall.

"Reengaging… target is Chizome!" He said as I sheathed my sword.

"Chizome… what are you-" Kayama gasped.

"This is the only way, I'm sorry, but… I deserve to die. I left him to forget himself, he needs to remember…" I sighed as everything slowed down, I saw my son shooting towards me, and the heavy stab of white-hot pain coursed through me. I held him. I held him tight. Tight.

"Son… I know… I know you're in pain. You forgot everyone, but never once did I ever give up on you… I'm proud of what… what you made… a better family, and a better life," I gasped, my breath slowing. The last thing I saw… was my son's face, the mask cracked and broken at our feet.

"Dad?! Dad, c' mon, this isn't funny!" I yelled, shaking him, trying to get him to wake back up.

"Take… my sword… finish this… sad tale…" He whispered as I took up his blade and strapped it to my back, taking his crimson scarf as well.

"Jiraiya…" He sighed with finality.

I felt someone embrace me, and I was glad that they were there.

"Mom… Let's finish this!" I vowed as Wolf joined me, his joy apparent by his wagging tail.

"Let's go find the others," she said, grabbing my hand as we left Dad's body behind.

Wolf was bounding playfully, glad to see me. I needed to end this at the source, but I wondered where Ibara was…

She was fighting Toga, dodging her knife blows and binding her.

"YOU REALLY THINK YOU COULD JUST DRUG ME WITHOUT PENANCE?!" Ibara yelled, slamming her around.

"Aw, c' mon Ibara-chan! You're trying to be like Jiraiya… but it won't work! You don't know him as I do!" Toga said.

"You're right, you don't know him at all!" she snapped, knocking her out with a final slam. She smiled and looked straight up at me.

"Jiraiya?! You're okay!" she gasped, running to me and hugging me tightly, almost needily.

"Babe… Ibara…" I sighed, kissing her gently. My eyes glowing red as I saw Emiya in front of us, I unsheathed my blades.

"Stand back, this is my fight!" I yelled as Emiya looked at me.

"Jiraiya… you've broken containment again?" she huffed.

"You made me kill my own father!" I objected.

"A necessary sacrifice… for the betterment of the world!" she yelled, as I followed her up to the roof with Wolf at my side, he was made of black metal like I was, and was extremely loyal.

"Wolf, if anything happens, protect Ibara…" I sighed.

"Begin playback: 'Wolf, no matter what, protect Jiraiya. No matter what happens or what he says, follow him into hell and back, make sure he comes back alive. Ibara needs him.' End playback," Wolf countered, his red eyes glowing and he was walking smugly.

"What does she need me for?" I asked.

"Prime directive 002, protect any family members of Master Jiraiya. Ibara Shiozaki, Nemuri Kayama, and formerly Akaguro Chizome, count as family. And any offspring as well. That is the prime directive 002, to protect you and anyone you're close to, to the best of my abilities," he said as we went up to the roof.

"Incoming Transmission from Kayama and Ibara, begin playback: 'Jiraiya, put on that scarf, unsheathe your blades, and waste that bitch! I love you, Jiraiya, so much. You better not lose!' They care for you, master. I have sensed that they have left to watch this conclusion play out," he said.

"Alright! Let's go!" I yelled as the elevator doors opened.
